Love this place! There is always something going on here. Drag shows, live DJs, speeding dating, paint and sips, and many more! You can come here for a date, girls night, large group (might want to reserve ahead of time. Especially the weekends and events.) Food is amazing, drinks are drinking, and the staff is awesome. Front patio, indoor, bar area, and back patio

Love this place. Super cute environment. Lovely back patio. Plenty of out front seating as well as bar and table seating indoors. Friendly, eclectic staff. Good food and cocktails . The Bloody Mary was perfect. Cool weekly events line up. I came to visit for the weekend and spent a lot of time here. Absolutely recommend.

Nice employees, great cold brew and a decently sized space for a hang out or working on your laptop. Appreciate that they have both brunch / nightly activities. Food isn’t stellar but it does the job (pancakes were pretty good but don’t see them on the menu anymore).

Highly recommend the fried cauliflower. It is flash fried and lightly breaded so it doesn’t feel too heavy. Drinks are well priced as well and the backyard is very cozy.

This is definitely a neighborhood gem! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there's an excellent patio in the back when the weather is nice. It's an all day cafe, so you can come in the morning for a coffee and get a little work done, stick around for lunch, or grab a drink and bites/dinner in the evening. They have programming too, so you can check out the events they host. Food was excellent and the staff is amazing!

Good price, good location and good food. A fun spot with an easy neighborhood feel. I was there on Mother's Day and the restaurant thoughtfully had a card writing station just in case anyone forgot their Mother's Day card. There are a few outside tables in the front and a small garden in the back. The menu changes during the day. The beet hummus, with seeded toasted bread, was pretty good! There are also event nights and all kinds of specials so check their website for the latest.

Nice low key calm setting. The staff is friendly and attentive. The drinks were pretty good. The food wasn’t the best, kind of dry and lacking in flavor.

I heard about this spot from one of the managers, I am super excited to have a spot that opens at 9am that has exceptional service and spectacular food!!! I met Bree and Mikey (hope I spelled correctly) they held it down just the two of them. Greeting us, making several coffee orders and serving at the same time. I brought in my family from Florida, we were all extremely satisfied! Great serving size, amazing quality and the atmosphere is perfect. Indoor or outdoor seating available, I can't wait to come back for brunch. Love this place #aroundridgewood

They aren't whipping shit when it comes to the ricotta lol it's giving "they won't notice" biiiihhhh wth. We left all our crumbs and ate half :/ not usual for two baddies that leave no crumbs.

My local neighborhood bar, never disappoints. Jack, Elisa are amazing and food is always good. Can't go wrong here!

I have been here a couple times and have mixed feelings about it. It is definitely more of a social brunch spot than a cafe to sit and do work. Last time I went I ordered the Caesar Salad which came with chickpeas and it was very delicious! Good mix of sauce and flavor while feeling very light. In the past I did not particularly care for the food I ordered. Was not bad but was not anything to write home about. I would come back and try it again though!

First impression, why do I keep coming around here. I have yet to have any good food/drink from this area. Going inside I was a bit confused with the vibe. It's definitely a cafe but feels more like a take out spot than sit down. Now I never care one bit for all the things I'm bringing up but it feels worth mentioning so you are not lured in as I was based of good reviews and pictures. On to the drinks. The hot coco is beyond budget, think nestle but even worst (milo). The mule with mezcal tasted like water and a huge amount of mezcal *vomit*. Think of it like when you leave a drink alone for too long and it gets watery (in part because of the mountain of ice establishments love to pile on). BUT luckily that is where the unpleasantness ended. The chicken and waffle along with the biscuit meal were definitely worth the trip. Disclaimer the waffle has no flavor but if you get the biscuit that comes with a delicious butter you can slather that on (fyi the fork makes it hard to eat because it's constantly bending0_o). The eggs in the biscuit were not flavorful even with the deli like cheese, butter and bacon. The biscuit itself was quite good and would have been better served on its own. Overall the food is good for a spot to plot down for work seeing as it's definitely a cafe. But it is a "bar" atmosphere with the loudness of the music so maybe not ideal if you need a quiet spot to work. 100% not a brunch spot worthy of walking more than 1 (and maybe a half) block.

The cocktails were creative and delicious. The live music added a nice touch. The bartender recommended a couple of signature drinks that were both refreshing and unique. A great place for a date night.

I came here for brunch on a Saturday. They don't take reservations, but we were seated right away. They have outdoor seating in the front and back of the restaurant. Inside, they have regular tables and high top bar stool seating. To drink, I had the passionfruit caipirinha. It was sweet, citrusy, and juicy. Really enjoyed it. For my entree, I got the mushroom hash with scrambled eggs added. It felt like a ton of food! The hash featured mushrooms fried with potatoes. It was subtly crispy. Very tasty. It also included avocado, beet, and a side salad. Everything tasted fresh. Loved every bite. We also shared the cheddar scallion biscuits, which were served with honey butter. These were fluffy and delicious and the sweet butter paired very well with the savory bread. I will definitely be back!

I like starting my day with a great cup of coffee of some sort but this place is not up to par with their caffeine. Dunkin' Donuts has better tasting coffee compared to Father Knows Best. Brunch spot in the morning and it turns into a bar in the evening. They have game night and karaoke night if you're in the neighborhood. Hopefully the cocktails are better than their coffee. They offer outdoor seating and there's a cute outdoor space in the back. High stool seating is available for dining in. Staff is very attentive. I ordered the mushroom hash and it was ok. There was nothing to brag about. My boyfriend ordered the everything bagel with egg. He mentioned that the bagel was really good.

We popped in for brunch on a Sunday and we're really happy with the food and the entire experience. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. We got pancakes, breakfast sandwich, chicken sandwich, and the mushroom hash with added scrambled eggs. Coffee was good but no free refills. It had a full bar and looks like it turns into a different atmosphere later in the day, but was just a chill lunch spot while we were there.

I wanted to grab a quick bite and drink before my tattoo appointment in Brooklyn and came across this spot. I shared a burger with fries with my sister and ordered an espresso martini. The burger was juicy and I really liked the seasoning on the fries. The espresso martini was a perfect combination of coffee and vodka. The prices were a bit high but the experience was enjoyable.

I've been to this place two times already to eat and each time I was amazed how good this food was considering it's a cafe/bar. Both times I've came here during lunch after working in another cafe. It's usually filled with other patrons either with their laptops or eating at the table. They have a bar here as well which is great. I haven't had drinks here yet but there's always people at the bar drinking and chatting it up with the employees. Although I can't personally see myself working inside since it's only high top stools, I love the huge window which brings in a lot of light inside. I also saw that they have some type of event around 9 every day, i.e. karaoke or trivia night. I'd def recommend coming here if you're in the area. This is def a great neighborhood place to have in your back pocket

Came here for trivia (Wednesdays at 9pm!). Got the grilled chicken wrap and their spiked hot cider. Both were excellent, love the fries. The place is decorated for christmas and had plenty of seating. It did fill up for trivia so would recommend arriving early. Staff was friendly, prices were fairly good for the area. Wish trivia started a little earlier, but still had a good time!

Cute space to grab a quick brunch bite. The cheddar chive biscuits with the chipotle honey butter was the best part. The Bloody Marys had a nice smokiness but were a bit watery. My mushroom hash was good - I added 2 eggs, and I liked the salad, beets and avo, it was just a bit light on the actual hash. My partner thought the salad with chicken was okay, he found it to be very small, so he ordered a side of bacon. Overall the flavors and service was good, we just found the portion sizes to be a bit light.

This is a fun neighborhood place to go to but the food and drinks aren't amazing. The chicken sandwich was lacking flavor and the food came out cold. The crowd is fun, service is friendly and they host events most days of the week.

Ohmylort! Best Bloody Mary I've had in a looooong time! The pickles, olives and celery all tasted super fresh. Even the tomato juice tasted freshly squeezed! Ha! I went here with my niece and my sister a few Saturdays ago. We were all so happy with the experience. My sister and I had the Bloodys and my niece had a vanilla latte. She's a "Dunkin" fan so it might not have been sweet enough for her. On the other hand my sister and myself were happy campers. The hostess complimented my brunch outfit and sat at us at the last table from the bar. It was packed this morning. And we never felt ignored. We always had plenty of water and food arrived promptly. I ordered the mushroom hash. Damnnnn! It had all my fave elements from pickled beets to avocado. The crispy potato bed was just the right little nest for my breakfast. Topped with peppery arugula and two perfectly poached eggs. All worth the money. It even reheated nicely the next day. My sister for the veggie burger and I was impressed! Homemade patty that was packed with flavor. The vegan pesto was banging! They could even make this vegan or gluten free. Atmosphere was lovely with tons of people catching up and a dj setting up. It felt like an array of local artist. I loved it. And there is a stunning patio that I imagine is quiet lively in the summer. I've told all my brunch loving friends and can't wait to try some more yummy dishes like the falafel platter or the vegan pancakes. And I gotta have this biscuit people are raving about.

Skip it. Everything was about 1/3 the size of the pics. Must've shrunk portions due to inflation but it's ridiculous. Food took 1hr to come out and all but one persons was cold as if sitting for a while. The Brussels sprouts were hard and undercooked and under seasoned. Chicken sandwich was dry and bread was pretty stale too, not to mention it was soooo tiny. The mushrooms over potatoes dish was 1/4 yr size of the pics from a while back apparently. It was also just ok. Our friends got the burger and it too was like 1/3 the size of the pics and nothing special. Way I look at it, this is NY, u gotta be great because the competition in this city is fierce. And this wasn't.

Not sure what all the hype is about. Food was sloppy, drinks were unflattering, and the staff is not knowledgeable and rude. The problem with this establishment is that it has no identity. Is it a bar? Is it a coffee shop? An Internet cafe? A local brunch spot? A restaurant? A dive bar? Not sure but whatever it is, it's isn't working. We order a smash burger with cheese (bread was utterly stale) and the double patties were devoid of flavor. Burger was a disaster. $15 down the drain. Wife ordered nachos. There were what. Nothing to write home to Tex-max land about. $14 down the drain Drinks were ok but lacked chutzpah in presentation and assemblage. Conclusion: Father doesn't know best, customer is always right so always listen to your customer. He or she pays your overheads, bills, corporation taxes, and most importantly , keep your lights on. Unless the proprietor owns the building or is in the midst of a revamp, this place is all for naught. There are better option on this side of bushwick (which is still sketchy). I would not go again. Sorry for the scathing and seething critique father, but truth is a bitter elixir. PS - We also saw a cockroach run by the wood railing in front of the DJ booth. I killed it without telling my wife (who has a roach phobia). PS 2.0 - A homeless person went into the bathroom and took a massive dump before proceeding to exit without any fanfare. I was waiting almost 15 minutes for the lieu. Problem is he exited and behind a literal shyte storm which I had to navigate around to pee. Nasty.

I live right around the corner and come here often for coffee, brunch, and dinner. It's a great atmosphere and great service. I wish the menu had a few more options... decaf coffee or espresso for example would be so nice and the veggie burger they used to have is missed!

This is a great place for a weeknight date. The lights are dim, the tables are small, and it's not so loud that you're shouting across at each other. When I went on a Monday night there were a few people scattered here and there but it was empty enough that we could easily find a table and chat. Mondays are also apparently movie night so around 9pm they played Selena which was a nice touch. The drink I got, lychee spritz, was light and refreshing. They also have a nice outdoor space in the back but it was drizzling so I didn't get to check it out.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Great music, wonderful staff, & great food! Im a sucker for cafes, especially ones that don't have a traditional menu. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. When we arrived we were told they had a limited menu since their head chef was out. I was nervous as I am vegan & already have limited options, but i ordered the mushroom hash & it was extremely tasty! (10/10) My friend ordered the potato cakes -- (6.5/10), said the texture was a bit strange, but the flavor was good. Definitely needs hot sauce & ketchup-- & cheddar biscuits-- (8/10) needed a bit more cheddar, but the spread it comes w is really good! She also ordered a lavender latte (said it was the best one she's every had) & the hot chocolate (12/10!) I ordered an oatmilk dirty chai & the flavor was great but it came out cold :/ They have a couple all gender bathrooms that are pretty well kept. The café itself could use a little more cleaning. Overall, love the ambiance of this place. Came here to do some work & they have fast wifi & nice (mostly) quiet place.

Bae and I stopped by for brunch this past Sunday and we're unsure what the great reviews are about. Stepped in at 2:45PM and was greeted and seated by staff, who said the waiter would be right there. Table had a little sign that read brunch time was still actively on when we sat down. No one checked in on us or gave us water for the next 30 minutes. Then, the staff member makes an announcement that it's self serve (order at bar, pay at bar) and we realized you get your own water of course. Essentially, every aspect was self service. Which is fine, but don't expect optimal tip without providing optimal service (or any service at all). Should've let guests know while being sat down also. When the food arrived, the chicken sandwich was burnt to the crisp. Burger was yummy! We sat in the backyard. The backyard is loomed over by tall, residential apartment buildings and someone was blasting daddy yankee on a speaker in their garden while we ate. All for daddy Yankee - which is when you realize the restaurant is the gentrification that's become a problem and not the locals who already live there. Overall, no thanks. Not with the lack of service and communication of service.

The cheddar biscuits were good but the rest of everything was eh. I think the vibe is great especially if you want a photo on insta or make a tik tok with but it was just bougie without the greatness. Brunch is not terrible, the service wasn't bad they kind of ignored us the whole time but yeah that was about it.

Went on a Monday early afternoon. A space for creatives, dates and more. The servers/baristas/bartenders/host were very pleasant. The music was TOP TIER (blood orange, erykah badu, the jets, solange) it was a mood. The biggest disappointment was the establishment not being persistent on checking vaccinations card etc. I believe they're short staffed but in this climate it should be top priority!!! Now to the food... Unfortunately they were out of a few things. -all of the desserts -French fries -a few entrees I went with the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was over fried and dry , however the bun was soft and tasty. Overall just okay wouldn't recommend. Also it came with a substitution salad that came with a lite delicious dressing but lacked character because literally it was just lettuce lol. I also got a side of the Johnny Cakes which were crispy and full of flavor. The almond croissant was delicious but could had been next level had it been warm. Therefore the croissant didn't lack flavor but it was very cold so also wouldn't recommend. Caramel Boozy coffee was hot and had just enough kick. The coffee was missing the "caramel" notes. I still recommend it though. They say you go back to establishments for either the food or the service. I'll be back for the service and the vibezzz.

UNBELIEVABLE food at Father Knows Best. Literally the best pancakes I have ever had. The biscuits were off the charts as well. Nice place to hang out and grab a bite to eat and a coffee. The staff is very kind and makes you feel at home. A little gem in Bushwick. Can't wait to come back!

Visiting town for the holidays and my friends highly recommended Father knows best! The food was amazing so yummy, BUT- While we were there, our table broke and fell onto our laps, I guess the ledge the table rested on was never actually secured together, and any amount of pressure could have completely push the table off the ledge, causing our food and drinks to go all over the floor and us to hold this broken table in our laps. Only another patron came over to help us move the remaining plates from the broken one to a new one. After a few moments the employees came out to clean up the mess. We had to ask that they remade my friends pancakes, and our drinks. I honestly don't feel like we should have needed to ask them to remake the items since the table broke on our laps and was all over the floor, I feel like that should be a given, especially when basically our food had just came out. They said they would, but it took another 20 to get our drink orders again since the barista was taking all the walk in orders. The syrup from my other friends pancakes also got all over my jacket, and I had to ask 3-4 times for some Clorox wipes or spray cleaner to wipe down my jacket, as it was on the inside and outside and I didn't want to be sticky all day in cold New York weather :/ Whenever I'd ask an employee for some, they just point to someone else and go "they'll get it for you" but no one ever did so I kinda felt like an asshole for asking again and again before they gave it to me! At the end, the drinks just took so long we got them in to go, and they only offered us a drink ticket each. I'm visiting for family so I gave it to a friend, but If I had came here with my mother who has bad knees, she could have been seriously injured when the table fell into her lap :( It just kinda sucked that it didn't seem like anyone cared about the situation. I mean the mess got cleaned up quickly I guess but me and my friends ended up running late for plans and the shop didn't seem to care about the situation like that? Like didn't immediately offer to remake our lost food and drinks. Again, we had to ask multiple times for items to be remade. This is one of those shops where you order and pay at the front, and then they bring your food out to you, so we had already FULLY paid for our meal, plus tip. The food was amazing, but I don't think I'll ever go back based off that experience:/ I guess if you don't want a table falling in your lap and loosing all your food and drink, try and go for the traditional tables, and not the tables 'attached' to the walls.

I'll have you know that someone's father DEFINITELY knew best when they did what they did with place. As a Marylander, I love Brooklyn for the many spots you can fall into for such great food. The restaurant is super cute and modern and offers indoor and outdoor seating that you choose yourself. You order by using the QR code menu located on your table which I've appreciated from Covid. I got the grilled chicken sandwich on ciabatta and added bacon. The bread was so soft and everything was so fresh. I wasn't crazy about the amount of paprika on the fries but they all got ate, who's complaining? I also ordered the house rose and my husband got the fresh lemonade. The lemonade was delicious but the rose was a bit too "housey" for me if you know what I mean. I would definitely go back when in town again.

Kale Ceasar salad was great! And the cheddar biscuits were good although I found them a bit dry. The vibe was nice, the place had free wifi, and a really nice staff. You can totally bring you laptop and get some work done before 5:30 when it turns into a more night scene (so I was told).

I moved to the neighborhood about 8-9 months ago! I have loved coming to fathers for a cafe/coffee moment, lunch with a friend, or dinner & drinks! I actually spent my birthday here with a couple friends. AND I came here for their Super Bowl party and it was great!! The vibes are immaculate, staff is friendly and helpful. I love this place so much!! It is my little neighborhood gem. They celebrate so many cultures and vibes through the music and events as well. I love that when I walk into fathers I know I can be myself, I can grab a GREAT coffee (saying this as someone from the PNW aka. coffee land), and I can have a great time.

We grabbed breakfast here one morning and it was delicious. The space is rather cozy and easy with outside setting. Order at the bar and they bring it all to you. I ordered a latte and we split their cheddar/chive biscuits and their breakfast burrito. Both were made to perfection and didn't need anything else. Would grab food here again very soon!

Passed this place on the bus so many times. Finally had time to swing by. Thought it was weird at first that the burger comes with a salad but it went great together. Sent a picture of the sign to my father. He wants me to bring him.

I'd rate Father Knows Best three and a half stars. We came here for dinner and some drinks. I started off with their house beer. I wouldn't recommend it. It was some sort of light beer under the bar's name. It was rather warm and came out heady. Whiskey selection was pretty limited, so I ended up getting Tito's with seltzer, lemon, and lime. It's definitely more of a neighborhood bar than a destination bar. They had a movie night going on and a lot of the patrons seemed friendly with the bartenders. My main course was the best part of the experience. I had the falafel platter. It was great and the main reason why I rounded up to four stars. Served with two humongous falafels over a bed of hummus and cucumber & tomato salad. I'd definitely recommend it. My wife had the buttermilk chicken sandwich with the paprika fries. It was good but a little dry. I liked the seasoning on the fries. We had the oatmeal cookies with chocolate sauce for dessert. I'd skip on this item. It's self service, so you order at the bar and then they bring your order to you. Orders were ready quickly. One gender neutral restroom which was narrow. Atmosphere is friendly and casual.

Father Knows Best has been one of my favorite cafes since it's opened! However, I am appalled by my experience today. Not only did I have the misfortune of a ROACH CRAWLING ON ME, but the lackadaisical attitude of the wait staff was absolutely shocking. Once the roach fell to the floor, they killed it and continued to work as if seeing roaches at the cafe was a normal occurrence. It's clear that hygiene and customer satisfaction are not a priority here. Save yourself the discomfort and avoid this unsanitary establishment at all costs!

I ended up there on a Friday and I had actually never heard about it until recently. I trolled there to try to get a boozy coffee, but they were unfortunately 86'd :-( the space is super cute and mostly intimate but definitely can turn up. I got a painkiller and it was sooooo tasty. I also got some truffle fries and ended up getting the quinoa bowl and SIS...so good. It was so good that I sat for another 30 minutes contemplating if I wanted to order the wings. Like what a magical feeling to know that I was full and content. Energy in the spot is super cool. There was actually an art show going on and it was beautiful to see the community energy flowing through the space. Only reason I didn't give it a 5-star is mainly because folx were getting a little caught up with their regular customers so I ended up having to wait for little things or ask for things like napkins/cutlery and water. Beside that I'll be back there in full affect super soon. I'm trying to taste that Boozy Coffee and enjoy some more of the spirit of FNB!!

The Earl Granny is a delicious take on the gin fizz. Highly recommend when you want to chill with a nice cocktail on a quiet Bushwick night. Thanks Pablo!

Tried for the first time for brunch. Coffee was bitter. Ask for cappuccino better but not by much. Ordered breakfast burrito with chorizo not bad. Cheddar biscuits were dry. Fourth time. Drinks are so far the only thing they have gotten right. Sad.. Oh service is good too. Kitchen is there biggest opportunity. Please fix.

Cute, low key but still satisfying in every way. The pancakes were my favorite. Great place to sit outside and relax with a good meal and good people.

First time coming here randomly & my date and I ordered drinks & shots. The music was good. I don't remember much about the place cause we already came in drunk and was bar hopping that night. Anyway, it seemed fine to me. Lol Whatever this drink was definitely put me on my ass.

The food was really good. The service was busy but they tried their best to accommodate even on very busy days.

Chill spot on the neighborhood side of Bushwick. Staff was friendly and drinks are cheap. The French fry's were top notch. Cut and cooked excellent. The wings are breaded which I don't prefer but these were still crunchy with crispy skin so I actually ate them, tough to find edible wings in NYC. Nachos were also excellent, actually wanted a few more chips due to a nice amount of toppings which is rare. Quality of toppings was also great. Checked my vax app at the door and everyone was respectful.

Pablo is the best! He made the best cocktails for me and my friends today. He is so friendly and attentive. Come to father knows best any night of the week and you will get the best service in bushwick!!

Get the nachos!! We stopped by late afternoon on Saturday for a snack, and were very pleased with the food selection and chill Bushwick vibes. This place will fulfill your comfort food needs. Love the set up of the inside and there is also a nice garden in the back, in addition to the front parkette seating.

Chris the British guy is a welcoming host. He was polite and asked me what i wanted. He recommend the buttermilk chicken sandwich. That was the best chicken sandwich i ever ate. The bun was toasted had pickles lettuce tomato red onion and hot sause. The chicken was super moist. The fries were fried perfectly and had chili powder on them. It came with a side of chipolte mayo which was delicious i ate the rest with a fork. This is a great local restaurant to eat at if your hungry.

After helping a friend move into his new place on Covert Street, we decided to get brunch at Father Knows Best. This combination cafe and bar is quaint and hip, and, according to our waiter, it's also a popular hook-up spot. Just food for me, thank you. We started at a table in the backyard but the brutal sun and heat forced us inside. I ordered the cheddar scallion biscuits and two eggs over medium. My friend opted for the breakfast sandwich, while my girlfriend went for the chicken sandwich (served w/ fries). It took a little while for our food to arrive, but we received it right before I started to get impatient. The biscuits were delicious and the eggs delivered the protein and fat that my body needed. Nicely done! I also got to eat half of my girlfriend's sandwich, and it was delicious. While all of our items were fine, hers was the best. If I lived in the neighborhood I could see this being a regular spot. As it stands, I'm happy to have discovered them yesterday, and I'll keep this place in mind if I'm ever back in the area.

I stopped by here for drinks before dinner down the street at Money Cat. Honestly the drink menu looks so good it was hard to choose just one (so I will be back). I went with the Frozen Hibiscus Margarita and it was perfection. My friends and I sat in the back garden which was well shaded. They also have indoor seating and additional outdoor seating in the front.
