"Handmade is literally the namesake of this tiny but mighty Redondo Beach Italian spot with chef Marco Pacelli making big restaurant-level plates of pasta. First, pick a shape like pappardelle or spaghetti, then choose the sauce, such as carbonara, bolognese, or pomodoro. Though most of the food is optimized to take home, a few tables and counter seats make it possible to eat plates while they’re still piping hot." - Matthew Kang

Pasta had a really good bite to it. Pizza was so fluffy. We loved eating here. Waiting time is long, though. Nonetheless, we enjoyed eating here. There's also free ice cream and a shot of coffee in the end.

Finally had the chance to try this place. They serve fresh, handmade pasta, and oh my goodness, it’s amazing! We ordered the Buffalo Mozzarella Pizza, Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti, Bolognese Sauce with Pappardelle, and Fregula with King Prawns and Stracciatella Cheese. We arrived right at opening, so the wait wasn’t too bad, but the entire experience took about 1.5 hours. We waited almost 45 minutes to get our food, and there were four plate changes for the different types of pasta and pizza we ordered. The food was incredible, and it truly satisfied my pasta craving. The owners were also very friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

Absolutely fantastic pasta dishes and great salad! Everything is made from scratch with love. Mario's pasta is better than most of the restaurants that I have eaten at in Italy, and I have been to Italy 6 times! We have ordered pasta there multiple times, and it is delicious every time. Plus, Mario and his wife are super friendly! Fatto A Mano is a real gem!

The easiest review I've ever done. ALL 5 STARS! This nook of an Italian kitchen, hardly showcases it's value through photos or reviews. The energy is marvelous. From the start Arlene helped us understand the food and ordering as Marco toss flames of Italian fragrances throughout the restaurant. Not many table, we lucked out though. Got in right before ethe rush. Trust me, that rush is no joke. They cook everything with such great love of the role. Which is where their customer service shines. Marco shouted everyone's name who walked through the door and greeted them as he came from the kitchen. What? That is amazing and I love it. Arlene knew our names before we knew hers. I must say, it's refreshing to see people work and enjoy the community. Okay, the quality of the food. 5 STARS to me on the past and for sure Pesto Pizza. The Salad was my only if, because e of the amount of oil that it came with was a bit mushy for my taste and salty. I didn't like the spinach salad, but all the other things had me clapping alone in my head. Look, the prices validate the quality of Pasta and Pizza you'll have. You are getting the VERY BEST customer service in LA. Hmm, yeah don't pass this place up.

The very special lady in my life recently introduced me to Arlene and Marcos’ Fatto a Mano and I simply can not be appreciative enough. One, for her sharing a favorite place of hers with me, and two, introducing me to what will absolutely be a favorite place of mine! Arlene and Marco immediately greeted us super warmly and quickly broke into a delicious description of the servings they offer. We decided on the Margherita pizza slice, an order of the Spaghetti in Carbonara Sauce, and a new style of pasta for me despite my New York upbringing surrounded by enormous Italian cuisine, Paccheri in a Cacio e Pepe sauce. As you can see in our photos and the many others already shared by their legions of fans, everything was absolutely delicious and we loved every single bite! I can’t wait to share this experience again with my Beautiful foodie! Thank you Babe for sharing and thank you Arlene and Marco, we’ll see you again soon! S & K.

The food, Italian hot chocolate, espresso, and lemon cake were out of this world. The moment you walk in the welcomes are warm, and unbelievably kind. It's like walking into an Italian grandma's kitchen. You are treated with the highest respect and feel like your apart of their family. I HIGHLY recommend everything about this place. My husband are already looking forward to next visit and we just left. TOTALLY worth the 45 min drive. We will definitely be back.

Google
this pasta is one for the books! each bite had us craving more, and the owners are such sweethearts we couldn’t help but stay and chat with them. the ingredients tasted so fresh and it was very clear they care so much about every single thing they put into each dish. it’s really worth dining in and getting to know the vibrant couple behind this restaurant <3 they gave us free scoops of tiramisu which was also delicious :)

Google
I truly adore this place. When you walk in, you are greeted like an old friend. I always do pick up, but I love coming in a little before my order is ready to chat with the workers and have a sample of their delicious hot chocolate. Always my go-to when I want a nice Italian dinner at home and don't want to cook.

Yelp
My Italian hubby and I are very particular about Italian food. In fact, we try not to eat at Italian restaurants too often because we are often disappointed. We know we sound like food snobs, but that's just the truth lol - we cook a lot of Italian at home. We kept hearing good things about Fatto a Mano (ever since we moved to the South Bay a year ago), and we finally ordered for dinner. We ordered the pappardelle with bolognese, estiva Roman pizza slice & margherita Roman pizza slice. Everything was perfetto!!! We love how authentically Italian the food was. The bolognese was how we expect authentic bolognese, not the wet tomatoey versions we've gotten at other places. We will definitely be returning! Some tips- heat up the pasta & pizza before eating. We added fresh basil & parmigiano (pictured) to the pasta.

Yelp
I love this place. Truly. It's a tiny restaurant with three tables and two or three barstools. My preference is to actually eat here over taking out though. I love how Marco is constantly chatting with everyone who comes in while he manages the kitchen and cooks the food. It really does feel like you're sitting in an Italian kitchen. My favorite by far is the gnocchi in tomato sauce. They are so light and fluffy. They remind me of what my mom makes. I was so sad when they weren't on the menu for the longest time, but Marco didn't want to put them back on until he could reliably have potatoes that would allow him to make them up to his incredibly high standards. The bresola is also one of my favorites, it's so simple yet so good. And I also love the buffalo margarita pizza. I have such a hard time choosing between my favorites when I'm there. My husband and I love the food here so much and love the community feel that whenever he's gone for long periods of time for work, it's the first place he wants to go when he's back and the last before he leaves.

Chris G.

Yelp
My son says "Best margarita pizza, on par with Mozza!" Everything is awesome, prepared with love from Chef Marco! Don't hesitate - check them out! We got Margarita pizza, Bolognese parpadelle, pesto fusilli, and Shrimp & Asparagus Linguini. Amazing! Thank you Marco!

Yelp
Awesome little pasta shop with authentic Italian food, quality ingredients, and friendly staff. The shop itself is very small (enough seating for 2-3 parties); it seems like people often do take-out. Since they make everything from scratch, there's about a 40-minute wait; the staff was nice and made lots of conversation with us, so the time passed quickly. All the food was delicious with rich flavors and al dente pasta. We were pleasantly surprised with gelato at the end of the meal, too.

Nicole L.

Yelp
I've had my eye on this Italian place for a few months and finally decided to try it today. I'm beyond happy we chose to dine here. This is the best and most authentic pasta I've ever had! The owners, a lovely husband and wife, were incredibly welcoming and made sure we felt at home throughout our meal. They took the time to get to know us and genuinely cared about our experience. Initially, we planned to get the pasta to-go because I read on Yelp that the food could take a while, but we decided to dine in since it wasn't busy around 2:00 PM on a Thursday. The wait time is due to them making everything from scratch, which is rare these days. My friend and I ordered three kinds of pasta: pesto sauce with fusilli, cacio e pepe with linguini, and bolognese with linguine. My favorites were the pesto and the cacio e pepe! Everything was absolutely delicious and I loved how the owners explained the origins of each dish as we ate: - Bolognese from Bologna - Cacio e pepe from Rome - Pesto from Genoa If you're ever in the area, you have to try this place! You can truly taste the love and passion in their food. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Arlene, Evelyn, Marco, thank you for creating such a beautiful experience for the south bay community!! The service was really 10/10. The owners actually have a conversation with you, and they're the nicest folks in town! The vibes are cozy and homey, they greet you so warmly and help you through their menu, which changes every two months by the way. Everything on their menu is perfected with love. We ordered the following: Estiva - basil pesto, tomato confit, flor de latte mozzarella The bread was soft, but well baked and delicious. The cheese and pesto combo was creamy and savoury, and well contrasted by the plum tomatoes sweet and tartness. The basil leaves on top really added to the freshness of the Amatriciana - writing this as I lick the plate clean! The amatriciana was such a good balance of Smokey and spicy. This rich Smokey flavor hits your tongue as you take your first bite, followed by perfectly caramelised onions, the pork guanciale was perfectly cut and melted in your mouth, the peccorino, and ghost peppers were beautifully folded in... I wish I could relive my first bite! They gave everyone delicious, rich hot chocolate to end the meal. An absolute delight!

Yelp
THANK YOU YELP for allowing me to Experience One of THE BEST LASAGNA BOLOGNESE I've EVER had in my LIFE !!! I AM a 1/2 Italian East Coast Transplant & also worked in the Event / Catering World for over 25 yrs. This Dish is EXACTLY what I was hoping for, ( & expected ), when visiting Rome for the 1st time last year...BUT Did Not Get! However, TODAY I drove 50 min South from my W. Hollywood Apt & unexpectedly found what I wanted in this small unassuming store front restaurant....keep this saying in mind, " Contempt Prior to Investigation ". I was in the South Bay area to pick up a Chair I bought On-Line. I decided to consult YELP & try out a Local Place with Great Reviews & Delicious Food. I arrived shortly after the 11:30 opening time thinking I'd be the 1st Customer. I was actually pleasantly surprised that there was already a short line to order, as well as people already seated at the few tables that are available. I really enjoyed hearing Arlene (Wife/Owner) Enthusiastically & Pleasantly going through different menu items with Customers. When I stepped up I shared how I found them & already knew what I wanted for my first sampling. I also shared my appreciation for how Marco, (Hubby/Chef/Owner), had handled the Low Rated Ridiculous & Bogus YELP reviews, ( that were clearly a Bot or just some dim sad hater ). I literally LOL 'ed when I was reading Marco's Response....Marco's Reply is What Confirmed my FINAL Decision to choose Fatto a Mano! Because I was a Single, I didn't want to take up the valuable table space & Arlene quoted a 30 minute return pick up. When I returned I was Greeted Warmly as if I was a Family Member Returning Home by BOTH Arlene & Marco! ...& was introduced to the Hard Working Fresh Pasta Maker. We started discussing all things Italian, The Reviews, where I live & I even heard about an Incredible Bucket List Adventure Trip they experienced Jet Skiing from Long Beach to Catalina ...AND BACK AGAIN !!!! ...& yes, I was given a tasty bit of Doctored Up Ice Cream to enjoy while we were chatting away. My Lasagna was Packed & Ready. I was offered an additional small side of Fresh Parmesan, (which I strongly suggest you accept). As I was Thanking them & about to leave.....( WAIT FOR IT ), Arlene asked if I would mind tasting a bite of Lasagna while it was Hot & Oven Fresh !!!! I LOVED THIS...especially because I was DYING to try it! She Opened Up the Container & literally grabbed a Fork & THEY WERE BOTH GENUINELY wanting to know what I thought....& kept saying "BE HONEST". ....I shared my Rome Story with them & happily told them, " THAT BITE was EXACTLY what I was Hoping I'd Experience when I was in Rome " - The Flavors, The Fresh Pasta, The Meat, Sauce & Cheese together made me let out a Yummy Low Guttural Satisfied Groan...of " Sooooo Goooooood!!!!" I left, found a quiet spot to park & had ALMOST forgot to take pics, but managed to snap these 2 pics before Inhaling this Amazing Lasagna. ONE LAST NOTE, that little Crispy Bit on Top was Outstanding! Not sure if that's always present- but will be sure to ask if possible to repeat! I will 100% be making a return Pilgrimage back the Most Unassuming Little Strip Mall Storefront Surprising Restaurant that serves up Fresh Tasty Delicious Wonderful Unforgettable Pasta that is made with Love, Passion, Humility by the Sweet, Gifted, Friendly, Talented, Thoughtful Team of Fatto a Mano.

Yelp
I originally wrote a 4 star review & was planning on returning to this establishment & spreading the word. That was until the owner, Marco, started HARASSING ME FOR NOT LEAVING A PERFECT 5 STAR REVIEW. At 9PM the day I posted my review, he called & left me a voicemail. (I'm guessing he matched my review name to my takeout order info to get my number.) The message said that HE DIDN'T CONSIDER A 4 STAR REVIEW SUPPORT OF THE RESTAURANT, that I should have called them directly with my feedback instead of posting a review on Yelp, and RECOMMENDED THAT I DON'T COME BACK. Between that voicemail and me waking up the next morning, I received notifications that he had responded to my review online & had updated it 2 times after that. His written statements gave various speculative reasons why he thought I didn't give them a perfect 5 stars: that I didn't know what I had ordered, I picked up my takeout late (not true), that based on my pictures I took too long to eat my food (not true, it was piping hot when I got home). And once again he said that I shouldn't return because I need to "be honest and tell us upfront, rather than hiding behind a silly yelp account and provide a questionable opinion". He said I "didn't have the decency" to call them. They also have everyone try their food in person if it's your first time. In my original review all I said was that I liked the pasta better than the pizza. I did not try the pizza in the restaurant, although they did open the box to show me how it looked. I enjoyed the pasta when I tried it in person and told them so. I then started to look at all of the other reviews. HE DID THE SAME THING TO SEVERAL OTHER REVIEWERs THAT DIDN'T RATE THEM 5 STARS. This is a CLEAR PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR that is documented on Yelp for all to see. The following day I received a call from another unknown number. They didn't leave a message, but when I Googled it, it led me to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU page for the restaurant. There I saw a complaint filed in 2022. That person said that after leaving a 4 star review, the owner called them 12 times. I came to this restaurant because it was listed as 1 of the best restaurants on Yelp in Los Angeles County. But now I fear their high cumulative Yelp average may be in slight part due to them bullying people into changing reviews or removing those that aren't 5 stars. (Not fact checked, but seems possible considering my personal experience.) I have had many wonderful responses from other restaurant owners/managers in the past saying that they would like me to return so they can have the opportunity to make my next experience better. But in all my years I have never been criticized for a review like this, especially one that was initially for a good experience. My experience has also been reported to Yelp (I waited until I heard back from them before posting this update), but I unfortunately cannot do anything if he continues to update his response to my original review & this update. But, I have screen shots that clearly show the sequence of events if he chooses to continue to provide unwarranted criticism.

Yelp
The food is authentic and it's literally prepared by an Italian. The service is impeccable and super friendly. The place is tiny but worth the wait for a table. Every dish is amazing and super flavorful.

Yelp
Came here for a salad. Left with a new friend, Marco! I originally found this place on Yelp while looking for vegan spots in the area. I don't actually know if they have vegan items, but it says "vegan friendly" on Yelp. So I'll have to explore that further. Anyway, after an appointment, I noticed this place across the street and decided to stop in to pick up a salad and meet the owner. Marco greeted me like we were old friends, which I loved. One of the friendliest people I've met in quite some time. He recommended the Romaine salad with chicken. It was so tasty, especially the artichoke hearts. I've had artichoke dip, but never the hearts on a salad... who knew??? Just delicious. I used my own dressing, but everything else was perfect. I'll definitely go back and try some of the pastas and find out what vegan items they have. Not vegan yet... just exploring my options. lol

Yelp
Thee best pasta shop in the LA area! The fresh, house made pasta and incredible sauces are to die for! I would drive in 405 traffic to eat here! The pesto is my personal favorite because it has such a delicious, unique flavor! The dining area is very small but, it's just as good when you do takeout! The owner is usually working and is super friendly. You can really tell he cares about your experience and it definitely shows in the quality of the pasta!

Yelp
Ever wondered what Italy is like ? Come to Fatto a Mano no questions asked. I literally felt like I was back in the eternal city. It's a no frills, quaint place where the culture is people. The staff are passionate about the food and take the time to converse ITALIANO style . They remember customers names, a classic skill everyone should. (Something I need to get better at again) The staff take genuine pride in the food; HENCE the freshly made traditional pasta and pizza. EVERYTHING is handmade and FRESH. It's just as food should be. It was my first time dining in and I got lucky to dine in & got my food fairly quickly. They get busy ! The phone is off the HOOK so you know the food is delicious. Forewarning, the establishment is NOT fast food, so be prepared to wait or order in ahead. It's all about the process in food culture & it's for a tasty reason. I had the Amatriciana in a papardelle pasta. The guancale and sauce was perfect. The portions were sizable. Judge me if you want, it was so good "io fare la scarpetta" (wiped the plate) with their freshly made focaccia. My hands after smelled fragrant like rosemary and authentic olive oil. Then the owner Marco surprised me with not one but TWO heaping complimentary servings of "gelati" all topped with tiramisu powder. I have to go back and try their Carbonara (was sold out) & maybe they can make one of my favorites, Pasta alla Gricia . They made my night getting through finals week.

Anita K.

Yelp
This is some of the best Italian food I've had in LA! I wish it was near me so I could be here all the time! They're not lying about the wait it's definitely 45 minutes plus on that but they provide a nice friendly environment to hang in while you wait! If you're hungry and looking for food fast this is not the place. The pastas are authentic and flavorful and I'm still dreaming about that amatriciana!

Fernando V.

Yelp
Every time I come here it's the best! They have amazing fresh pasta and the service is always 10/10! I will keep recommending this place to everyone. Thanks this for the great service and dinner always!

Michelle C.

Yelp
This place has quickly become my favorite in town. I've always wanted to try it out but was initially hesitant because I thought there were no dine-in options for the first few months, and later because of reviews mentioning a potential wait. Today, I finally gave it a try, and oh man, why did I wait so long? It's run by the nicest, most passionate, and friendliest people, and their food is nothing short of spectacular. Just incredible. Their dishes have redefined and elevated my standards for handcrafted pasta and Roman pizza. We enjoyed lasagna, cacio e pepe, Romagnola, and Affumicata. Their Roman pizza was the best I've ever had. The cacio e pepe was delightfully creamy, and the texture of the linguine was simply unforgettable. My boyfriend adored their lasagna. The restaurant was bustling with customers, all of whom left with big smiles on their faces, which was so heartwarming to see and made the entire dining experience even more special. They also gave us tiramisu gelato to finish off, and it was amazing as well. While there might be a wait, it passes quickly and is absolutely worth it. We'll definitely be back to try everything on their menu.

Esther H.

Yelp
Amazing food, people and a heart-warming ambience! My husband and I recommend this place and will be coming back! We ordered 2 pastas (linguine and pappardelle) and a pizza, but everything was hand-made daily and makes it all taste that much better! Would have tried more had we not eaten anything not too long before we got there, but hey, another excuse to go back! Thanks to the Fatto a Mano Family!

Ariel C.

Yelp
This restaurant is the epitome of quality over quantity. And ever single bite made me fall in love with pasta! My husband has been wanting to come here for over a year now, but we just live so far... but boy, he was right. The food and atmosphere of this place is SO worth it. I got the braised rabbit with fettuccini and he got the cacio e Pepe, also with fettuccini. Both are absolutely delicious! The braised rabbit sauce was so balanced in flavors, and that rabbit meat was tender and melt in your mouth. The cacio e Pepe was also on point in terms of flavor, there's nowhere to hide with literally just cheeks and pepper. I also got a dessert and did not regret it at all! The almond cake had pasta on top of it, super unique, delicious crunch. They also gave us free samples of the hot chocolate, and omg so freaking decadent and just warms your heart. The owners are really friendly and makes it a point to know your name. Food takes about 30 minutes to make, and they're very upfront about that. Don't think this is an Olive Garden or some fast food. It is worth the wait. I 100% recommend this place! You can feel the love they have in the food and the conversation. I cannot wait to come back for their pizzas and to try more of their seasonal pastas.

Joey G.

Yelp
Lives up to the hype! I drove for an hour to come here and I did not regret it one bit. The pasta is handmade, fresh and it is beautifully cooked. They let you choose your sauce and they also let you choose your pasta as well. I got the cacio e pepe with linguini and it was simply the best linguini I have had. The pasta had an excellent consistency. I didn't think that cheese and pepper alone could pack so much punch but it did. My wife got the braised rabbit linguini and we loved it. The rabbit was so tender and the sauce compliments the meat well. The rabbit was not too gamey which I appreciated. I can tell that the staff really cares about their art. The food does take a little while but it is 100% worth it. We were treated like family even though it was our first time. The place is cozy and the experience here truly put a smile on my face. Thank y'all!

M M.

Yelp
Edit: As expected the owner has come to try and insult me too for leaving an honest review. He can't accept the reality that his restaurant doesn't suit the tastes of everyone. It's a shame, the owner was charming in person but behind closed doors he's a delusional bully. My partner and I came to eat here a few months ago, we dined in and had two pastas and a pizza. The pasta with pesto sauce was our favorite dish that we ordered, but overall none of the food made us really want to come back. We enjoy other restaurants more. Apart from that, I would not give further support to this business after seeing how the owner bullies anyone who gives a review under 5 stars. It's not appropriate and seems very strange and crazy, not "passionate".

Mike A.

Yelp
Absolutely recommend. Authentic Fresh Delicious What else can be said about this establishment that was not already said, maybe this? You will not have better Italian food anywhere in greater LA, this is a one of a kind gem.

Tracy P.

Yelp
This is the place to go if you wish you could have been born into an Italian family. I want to be adopted by these people! Be sure to allow plenty of time to enjoy your meal and the atmosphere. When you choose to eat here, it is an experience...a little slice of the leisurely Italian lifestyle. We enjoyed the pesto fusilli, Roman style Margherita pizza, and the cacio e pepe tagliolini. They treated us to espresso and a slice of the cocoa and ricotta crumble cake. It was the perfect way to end the meal.

Ms. E.

Yelp
This family run restaurant is a true gem. Imagine going to dinner at your Italian Uncle Marco's home, except his kitchen is in an unassuming strip mall a short distance from the Redondo pier. You're greeted with a warm welcome the second you enter by the lovingly attentive Arlene and Evelyn from behind the counter. It feels like you've been here before even though it's your first time, that's cause they're treating you like family, From the kitchen you can see & hear Uncle Marco talking & joking with guests while he's cooking up a storm of delicious smells, getting a sneak peak of all the pizzas and pastas that you're craving. They don't make restaurants like this anymore, so it was a delightful suprise to know this exists. With only 3 tables & a small counter with some stools of course most of the orders are take out, and that's the source of the wait time. First come, first served so be patient & get in line, there's only one person cooking here and you're lucky it's Uncle Marco. Whatever the wait will be, it is well worth it especially for the superb quality at this price point. No alcohol and no bathroom, trust me you don't need either of those to enjoy this amazing food. Grazie per il cibo delizioso! I will be back with more family & friends everything we had was fantastic, and will be working my way through the menu.

YC C.

Yelp
I do not appreciate this response. I do not have multiple accounts and i do not have a vendetta against you or your restaurant. To assume I am this person that has created multiple accounts to bash your restaurant is wrong and I believe you are suffering from a serious delusion. I want to emphasize, I have nothing against you or your business. My review is purely based on my experience, along with my co-workers who pushed me to write this review after a sub-par experience.

Alethea S.

Yelp
Update on my previous review from a year ago: this place NEVER disappoints. I'm starting to believe the owners are blessed with a food superpower, and anything they touch - from their pasta to their gelato - is automatically amazing. They put so much hard work and passion into this little shop and you can really tell. My boyfriend and I come here literally every time we're in town (we live in San Diego so it's a bit far for us to come regularly, which is probably for the best or we'd be eating every meal here). Their lemon (again I can't remember the right name sorry) gelato is my favorite of their gelato flavors, but it's ALL amazing. My favorite pasta combo is their pesto fusilli. If I were going to die tomorrow and I had to pick a last meal I'd probably pick this place. So good!!!

Parking: Location is in an easy parking lot not much to say. Food: Delicious, id say the only thing I didn't like was my pesto pasta. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't the flavour I was used to. My friends thought it was good and the dishes they ordered were all delicious. Big winner to the lasagna which I didn't take a picture of because we just chowed down. I don't really remember the names I just remember it was pretty good. This place is expensive, can I say it was worth it's value? Yes I can, I would eat here sporadically or if I'm ever in the area. It's a far drive for me, so it would be worth it on special occasions. You're looking at upwards of $20+ for their specialties. Why didn't I give it five stars? Amenities. Let me just say that the service is great and they're both passionate and friendly. They are accommodating to whatever is possible for them and the location they are at. I had a good time here and they will really go above and beyond for you. CORRECTION: As the owner has pointed out, there is a bathroom detached from the building, just ask. You have to buy water as they do not serve tap and it's priced accordingly. Outside of that this place is fantastic.

Yelp
Came by again to try the dine-in experience. Evelyn is super friendly at the front. Marco is the extrovert Italian chef in the back. Both made us feel like family. The food continues to be amazing and the complementary soft serve tiramisu gelato is a nice touch to end the meal! Seems to be primarily a take-out restaurant but have 3 small tables and a small counter for dine-in (seating for about 10). Expect a bit of wait when dining-in as they also prepare the take-out orders. Actually didn't feel long as they paced our food very well with the salad coming out in about 10 mins then followed by the flatbread and then pasta. It's authentic restaurant quality, not fast food.

Yelp
One of the best pasta and pizza store in South Bay, Los Angeles, and USA. We came back after a while because we were craving pizza. We had some new flavor that I've never seen before: sausage and some kind of squash? Pro tip: call ahead and expect 45-60 min wait! The owners are passionate and nice. They also have free espresso and hot chocolate that are to die for.

Yelp
Writing this review as the food happily settles in my tummy. I will definitely have to give them another try to confirm it, but the pasta might be worth the wait and drive from Orange County. I'm glad that I read some reviews prior to ordering to prepare me for the wait. The restaurant also has a PSA regarding wait time for orders. Regardless, I'm glad to have found a new place for fresh pasta. Based on what I could see, it's basically a one man show. The chef and owner is making the food and doing what he loves. I loved seeing how enthusiastic they were to serve me even though it was almost closing time. I ordered ahead online at around 6 pm and got there around 6:35. My pasta was made when I got there and after a few minutes, I asked to give it a taste. I was quite impressed with the first bite and the owner took the time to explain each dish. The pasta was insanely fresh as it literally went from the pan, to the container, to my hand. I was interested in ordering the carbonara since it is a done in only exclusive, but they closed dine in service by that time which is understandable. I ordered the Leek & Clam pasta with linguine. I could tell by the texture that these noodles were made fresh. They even have some of the pasta out for display. This pasta somehow manages to be rich but not too heavy at the same time. The sauce is buttery and tastes like wine and natural clam flavor. I enjoyed the abundance of fresh basil that imparted its aroma throughout. The clams themselves were fresh and plump anI like they're served without the shell and there was a generous portion of clam. I was also interested in trying their pizza and went with a slice of the Romagnola. It's topped with cheese, prosciutto, and arugula. The crust was crispy, light and chewy. I do wish it had some sauce or more of it,as it was more like a flatbread. I did use some of the crust to dip into the pasta sauce and that was the right move. Would be interested in trying another pizza next time! I'll definitely be back to try more of their offerings. I like that you're able to choose which pasta shape to go with your sauce and that they also have cook at home options. This food is meant to be eaten as fresh as possible. Since fresh ingredients are used and I assume less preservatives as other restaurants, the food won't be as good if it sits too long. This shop is small but full of life and personality from its owners. If you're willing to wait, i think you'll definitely be rewarded for your patience. This pasta shop has that comforting feel that I desire when getting pasta. If there's one thing I'd change, I wish they served wine as it would pair beautifully with their pasta and pizza.

Yelp
SOOO good. Fatto a Mano has been bookmarked for a long time, but I finally got to try it. The South Bay doesn't really have such good, handmade pasta. I went with 2 others, and we shared the Pesto with fusilli pasta, Carbonara with linguini pasta, and Romagnola pizza. Everything was so so delicious. The pasta was made so well, and I loved the sauces. Both pasta dishes were so good, but I especially liked the pesto. The pizza was sizeable and yummy too! The owners are so kind and friendly. They make the restaurant such a fun and welcoming place! Some of the best pasta around for sure.

Yelp
An amazing experience that everyone needs to try! Located in a cute corner is the small restaurant. Seating is limited so be weary of this if you are dining in. I had ordered pickup online because of this. The online ordering process is simple and easy. They even call you to let you know the wait time and confirm your order, a very nice touch! When you walk in, you are greeted by Arlene and Marco. Even during the busiest times, they still take time to say hello and welcome you with a warm cup of hot chocolate. Onto the food, we ordered the lasagna and the bolognese pasta. Both of these were excellent and perfectly cooked! If it's your first time, they even let you try your food beforehand to make sure it's perfect. All of the above combined for an amazing experience. It's a small shop so being patient is sometimes needed, but they are a very honest business and one that makes great food too!

Yelp
We came on a Saturday around 12:15 and was greeted by Arlene at the register. It was our first time here, and she was kind enough to explain each menu item and which sauce goes well with which pasta. We were told that if we chose to eat there, we'd have to wait around 45 minutes for our food, which was fine because other reviews told us to expect this wait time. We ordered the carbonara sauce with linguine, bolognese sauce with fettuccine, and a slice of margherita pizza. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The texture of the pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce fully coated the pasta. They also offered complimentary espresso for us while we waited. They have limited seating inside their store, so we came at a good time. They do require you to order before you sit at a table so it's fair. Arlene and Marco provided exceptional service! They constantly came to check on our meal to ensure we were satisfied with the texture of the pasta and taste of the sauce. They really seem to care about the quality of their food. We finished our pasta and waited for a while, but our slice of pizza still hadn't come yet. Arlene realized that they had made a mistake and forgot about our pizza. She was kind enough to let us know and even comped us for the pizza. Both Arlene and Marco were very apologetic, and we really appreciated their generosity. We'll definitely be coming back! Thank you for the excellent food and customer service.

Yelp
Third time's a charm! I have had Fatto a Mano on my bookmarks for quite some time and I am quite happy that I finally got to try this place out! I first tried ordering to-go here awhile back on Valentine's Day but the wait was a bit long and then tried again on a Friday night but similarly it was a bit busy. They gave me an estimated wait time on the phone both times; which I really appreciated. My third try here; I ordered online right before they opened and was happy to finally have a chance to check it out! Yay! I got the Linguine Pasta with Bolognese Sauce ($18.50) and the Broccoli Rabe Gnocchetti Pasta ($16.90). Each of the orders here are made from scratch and they definitely want to make sure that you enjoy their food. When I came to pick up my order; the owner Marco asked if it was our first time and he had us try the to-go order dishes we ordered before leaving the restaurant. He asked if we "liked it or loved it." He definitely takes his dishes and the opinions of the customers to heart. He also gave a nice, complimentary sample of soft serve on the way out. For the two dishes we got; I definitely say the Linguine Pasta with Bolognese Sauce was my favorite. The Bolognese was a richly-flavored meat sauce that was truly excellent and exceptional. The Broccoli Rabe Gnocchetti Pasta had a tad bit of spiciness to this dish and definitely had a unique flavor to it due broccoli rabe's sharp bitterness. Both good dishes with different flavor profiles for sure. I am happy I got to check this place out finally and want to get their Lasagna Bolognese next!

Yelp
Absolutely worth the wait!!! I normally wouldn't wait if it's more than 20min, but I did it because of the amazing reviews. I'm so glad I did. The leeks and clams sauce pasta is to die for!!! Seriously the best clam/seafood pasta I've ever had. The clams are super fresh. I hope they never remove this from their menu please!! My husband got the puttanesca sauce. He loved it! It's spicy and has a strong olive flavor. I don't live close by but I'd definitely come back to this place.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time here and this will definitely not be my last.. The food here is amazing. Today my friend and I had the Carbonara, which is dine in only and the mussels and Pistachio sauce. The wait is 2 hours which is usually the wait time. People will wait the 2 if not more hours just to have this pasta. The restaurant is small with about 3 tables and 1 bar top table located in a small strip mall with its own parking lot. There is always a line and so worth the wait. The owners and restaurant staff call you by name and make you feel like family..

Yelp
Tried this place on a whim because of the great reviews. I'm so glad I did. The service was awesome. Both the owners (the chef and his wife) were so helpful and friendly. To clarify, this is NOT Italian American food. No chicken Alfredo here. It's truly Italian food straight from Italy. All the food was made fresh to order which I appreciate. The owner made me try the pasta in front of him to confirm the excellence of his cooking. Best bolognese I've ever had and I cook Marcella Hazan's bolognese from scratch about every other month. It's very authentic to what you'd see in a restaurant in Italy. All the 1-3 star reviewers are haters. Real fresh made food is so rare and it takes time. If you want something quick to go, this is not the place. I recommend The Olive Garden. If you want real Italian pasta and pizza and are willing to wait for quality, try this place out.

Yelp
So happy that I finally got to try the spot since I was working in the area. I ordered online about 15 minutes before, I'd recommend that! The place is small, there is a little bit of seating. It's very clean inside. I went up to the register to pick up my food. There was a little bit of a line around late lunch. The guy asked me if it was my first time there, I said, yes. So he actually opened my food and gave me a fork to give it a try Before he packaged it up for me to take. I thought this was excellent service because he really wants to make sure you enjoy your meal. The pasta is cooked perfectly, and the sauce was a great amount of flavor and not overpowering. I also got a little cup of hot chocolate, it was thick, rich, and so decadent. If you order online, they do not have all the different dishes available so just be aware of that. I noticed on the menu inside the store there was different pasta sauces. I can't wait till I can come back to try more!

Yelp
Fatto a Mano is a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant with owners Arlene and Marco who are so sweet and welcoming. You HAVE to get the lasagna, it's amazing!!! I recommend to order to go or get there when it opens so you can get a table and relax while your food is being made fresh. Because it's freshly made it can take some time, up to an hour during peak lunch/dinner hours, but it is so worthwhile! Highly recommend this wonderful shop. If you're short order online or just pick up some pasta to make your own meal at home! 10/10 amazing!!!

Yelp
Wow, very impressed, stopped by to try Fatto a Mano after visiting my parents who live near by. I must say the owners were very courteous and friendly. They answered all of my questions and treated me to some of their ice cream while I waited for the pizza to cook. I also had the heat at home Lasagna that was absolutely fantastic. Best Lasagna I've had. I will be treating my family to Fatto a Mano next week. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
EDIT #2: DO NOT EAT HERE. Manager is absolutely unhinged and has either some type of anger problem or nothing better to do. Please see his comments below. He initially commented criticizing my review and stating he gave me a refund. He did not, nor do I care. Then here I am getting yet more notifications that someone has responded to my review and am aghast to find this owners comments. He says I ate eat with my friend Pauline? My mothers name is Grace LOL. To attack me personally and saying I am "criticizing something I don't even know"? This is just super condescending behavior to any person. Never did I attack the restaurant personally. Will be reporting to yelp this is not acceptable behavior to be bullying patrons like this. EDIT #1: Very odd, the owner replied back to me with the comment below, but I ate here many months ago, and never completed my draft so was just posting. He certainly did not refund me, as I was not the one who paid for the dinner and I am CERTAIN he does not remember who I am as this was so long ago. It's I usual he would say he refunded me unless he possibly refunded someone else? Also slightly passive aggressive, not every restaurant can be 5 stars and I did give a good review. My previous review: Great food and even better service! Came here on a weekday night and it was full so we put our name down and it was around an hour wait. When we arrived to get seats the two staff members working that day were absolutely lovely. Their welcoming manner and humor definitely made us feel like we were in nonna's kitchen! Like the warning says, they prepare the food fresh so it can take awhile. My mother and I got the pasta bolognese, pesto, and toscana pizza. Pasta bolognese: 4.5/5 you can pick which pasta shape you get and I believe we got the tagliolini which was exquisite. The sauce was flavorful. Spaghetti with pesto: 4/5 I found the pesto sauce not quite as good as the bolognese. It wasn't as flavorful and I think there was a little too much cheese/salty flavor for me. Toscana pizza: 3/5 the pizza slices here are huge so I definitely suggest sharing if you would like one! The Roman style pizza is soft and very filling as the crust is on the thicker side I would say. The toscana was very oily and lacking in toppings. Like I said, the staff here are top notch. They offered us espresso and some leftover dessert at the end which was so special and kind. While I don't think the food was anything spectacular and they are definitely on the pricier side for the taste, I will be coming back because I love the family feel of the restaurant.

Yelp
Hands down - the BEST. Pasta. Place. Ever. We love this shop. The staff is incredible. The chef is fun to get to know. The cashier and others are sooo friendly. It's a very family, homey environment. I've missed that so much about Italy and its people. You choose your pasta style, then menu item. They can also give you recommendations. There is free espresso usually, which is a plus. Parking in a small plaza out front. It's by the public laundromat. Definitely check this place out when you can! It's a treasure gem in the city.

Yelp
Located right by Redondo Beach. Fatto a Mano is arguably the best Italian food I have ever had. Arlene and Marco are so incredibly nice and welcoming. Whenever I come into the store, I really feel like family. :) The food at Fatto a Mano has ruined Italian food for me. I have been to multiple Italian restaurants since I've come up to the Bay, and no place can compare to the dishes Marco and Arlene make. My favorite is the spaghetti with amatriciana sauce, but the others, such as the bolognese, are equally delicious. Make sure to try their pizza as well! I personally enjoy the romagnola the most, and it could easily be shared with multiple people. Just be aware that the restaurant is really tiny, so you might not get a table at peak hours. They also make everything fresh from scratch, so it could potentially take 30 or so minutes, but it is for sure worth the wait--trust me! It's easily one of my favorite restaurants when I come back home, and if you're in the South Bay, this is a must-visit!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
One of my colleagues recommended I try Fatto a Mano , and said "be prepared to be blown away." He wasn't kidding. From the minute we walked in, Marco and Arlene welcomed us like family. We ordered salads, linguini bolognese and two different pizza slices. It was ALL to die for! Even thought the drive home was close to 2 1/2 hours, it was well worth it! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Fatto a Mano offers authentic Italian dining and Roman style Pizza, cooking every order from scratch with serious attention to quality. Marco & Arlene (owners/chefs) are incredibly passionate about what they do and wholeheartedly want to know what you truly think about their food. If you love it, Marco wants to know; if you hate it, he also wants to know. I respect this. With this in mind, PLEASE READ THEIR DISCLAIMER ON THEIR WEBSITE. if you are just wanting to drop in for a quick bite, this is not the place. If you want to become a part of the family and enjoy great food with great people, this is 100% the place. Onto the food: I had the Buffalo margherita Pizza, the margherita pizza, and Fusilli pasta with pesto sauce. Pizza: Both utilize San Marzano Tomato Sauce (the way it should be) and both were delicious. The buffalo margherita was my top choice because of the buffalo mozzarella of course! The right type of tomato + the right type of cheese + fresh Basil and a drizzle of olive oil = Buon appetito! What really sets this pizza apart from the competition is the dough/crust. To me, it's something between a focaccia and a sourdough (no sourdough taste though). It's light and airy but with a magnificent crispy crunch when you bite into it. Easily one of the best pizzas I've had since visiting Italy in 2019; I'm sure even Marco and Arlene would agree that nothing (or almost nothing) can beat a Napoleon style pizza in Naples. Pasta: I know I wanted the pesto sauce and after some inquiries, Arlene suggested I try the Fusilli pasta to accompany it (I wanted a pasta that captured all that delicious sauce) and her recommendation did not disappoint! The fresh handmade pasta is truly appreciated. To future customers: hands down one of my new favorite places and I'm sure it'll be one of yours as well. please read the disclaimer on their website. we did not, but we had plenty of free time today so the wait just allowed us to get to know the owners and honestly, I would not of had it any other way. To the owners Marco and Arlene: you two are amazing, keep doing what you are doing and if I had to make one suggestion; you made need to start importing larger amounts of the buffalo mozerella with me as a return customer.

Kevin S.

Yelp
I've been here a few times for their food. It's hands down the best pasta sauce around the beach cities-especially the pesto. Everything here is to order and they can get quite busy with to go orders so despite it potentially being an empty shop expect at least a 30 minute wait. I personally would stick to the pasta here but that's not to say the pizza isn't good. The Roman style they use is more bready then with a sauce and toppings placed on it. The location is in a small strip mall and they have maybe enough seating for 6-8 people if I'm being generous. Like the owner said when I asked him if there were any daily specials, "everything is special here"! And isn't that the truth

Nicole B.

Yelp
The fettuccine with amatriciana was flavorful and my favorite dish of the two. The pasta is made fresh/right in front of you as well.

Frankie L.

Yelp
Hi Fatto a Mano.... The title itself shows everything here. The owner and the chef is making vivid vibe here all the time even the servers are super kind and help the chef to provide more love to the customers. This time I've ordered Bresaola which is mainly arugula salad with salami, and Saffron prawn spaghetti, Romagnola pizza slice and Focaccia rosemary... Also two of their dessert, which was kind apple pie styled sponge cake and other one I've forgot but super savory and buttery soft... From the salad to dessert are totally home meal styles carry all the Italian beauties to the dish with tastes... Thumbs up in Torrance and thank you chef. Ciao bello.

Kristen L.

Yelp
I rarely leave reviews, especially after the first visit, but I wanted to express how lovely of an experience this was. While the pasta was exceptional -- fresh, had an amazing texture and tasted like a warm hug -- the experience was heightened by the genuine warmth and kindness of the owners Marco and Arlene. They are great conversationalists and gave me and my mom so much free gelato (6 cups!) I'm certain they would have given us more had we stayed longer. Seriously don't know how people could give them below five stars.

Kelly N.

Yelp
Wow. Authentic hole-in-the-wall with fresh pasta and exceptional service. These were the nicest staff I had met in a while, with smiles all around, frequent check-ins, and free gelato x2 and dessert! The fettuccine bolognese was top 10. It was comparable to my fav pappardelle bolognese at the Italian Homemade Company in Berkeley, CA. Pizza was Roman style--light bready crust: quite tasty. The dessert was rich and chocolately. It would've been perfect with a cup of coffee or tea. Because it is a small place with 3 tables and a few bar-height seats, the wait can be over 30 mins at dinner time. But you can always order ahead and take it to the beach! Would definitely come back if I am craving authentic Italian food in South Bay!

Jeanette C.

Yelp
I passed by this shop so many times. For awhile now whenever I'd walk by, the smell of Marco's cooking would just jump and I FINALLY decided to give this place a try yesterday! I was greeted by Arlene and she gave me the run down of their menu. Marco was either chatting with customers or singing in the back while cooking. Both of them took the time to chat with me as I waited for my food and checked in to make sure I was happy with my dine-in order. small shop, BIG ENERGY. I deeply appreciated how lively & passionate they are about building community. I had the cacio e pepe - which can only be enjoyed inside the restaurant, but they have a menu for takeout/ingredients you can scoop up to cook for yourself at home. Best pasta I've had in a long time and don't be fooled by the pictures, their serving sizes are very filling. I struggled to eat my last two bites, but it was too tasty not to finish. The complimentary hot cocoa was such a nice touch, but I'll likely limit myself to 2 cups next time. I will absolutely be coming back and have made it a point to try some thing new for each future visit. Can't wait to try the pizza!

Lauren T.

Yelp
Before I write this review: do NOT come here expecting to be seated right away or if you are in a hurry. This is not the restaurant for that. The whole premise is to enjoy the food the way it was meant to be eaten! Marco and his wife Arlene are both so warm, welcoming, and attentive. They make it a point to remember your name and make you feel at home. When ordering takeout, they give you a realistic time frame that may shock you, so make sure to order in advance. With all that being said, it is well worth the wait. We loved all the pastas and pizzas that they made us. Very unique concept that makes you feel like you are a part of their community. Ambiance is not great, but their personalities make up for it! HIGHLY recommend you try it out!
