13 Best Things to Do in Maui | Condé Nast Traveler

"Don't come to the Feast at Lele expecting plastic leis, screaming children, and a sad buffet line; rather, this is a quintessential Maui luau without the cheesiness. The five-course dinner (served at private tables—a rarity on the luau scene) pairs live performances with cuisine from four different Pacific island regions: first Hawaii, then Aotearoa (New Zealand), Tahiti , and Samoa. Then comes dessert. The food is great. Standouts include a five-hour braised beef with kiwi jus from New Zealand. Come hungry—the portions are large and you won't want to miss out on the final note: a vanilla-coconut-lime mousse cake with caramelized pineapple." - Todd Plummer

Feast at Lele – Luau Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"What were your first impressions when you arrived? Don't come to the Feast at Lele expecting plastic leis, screaming children, and a sad buffet line; rather, this is a quintessential Maui luau without the cheesiness. On arrival, you're greeted with a fresh flower lei and a Mai Tai. Then you're ushered to your private table—a rarity in the luau world—before the show begins. Tell us all about the event. The five-course dinner pairs live performances with cuisine from four different Pacific island regions: first Hawaii, then Aotearoa (New Zealand), Tahiti , Samoa, and finally dessert. The food is great; standouts include a five-hour braised beef with kiwi jus from New Zealand. Come hungry—the portions are large and you won't want to miss out on the final note: a vanilla-coconut-lime mousse-cake with caramelized pineapple. How are the seats? The venue holds about 300 guests—on the smaller side for Maui luau venues—meaning that each table has a direct sightline to the performance area. Good for kids? The show and setting is appropriate for everyone from honeymooning couples to large families. Since every party has a reserved table and there's no buffet line, you won't find yourself tripping over someone's unattended toddler. Anything in particular that makes this place special? The fire dancers give a thrilling performance, one that blends tradition and theatrics. What—and who—do you think this is best for? The Feast at Lele is an essential luau experience for every visitor on Maui." - Todd Plummer

The Best Luaus in Maui That Everyone Should Experience | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you're looking for a luau experience that's a little more intimate and romantic, look no further than the Feast at Lele. Brought to you by the folks at the Old Lahaina Luau, it's the date night version of a traditional luau: think a five-course gourmet dinner with table service—no buffet lines here!—and performances presented between each course. Rather than being served typical Hawaiian dishes, each course is created thoughtfully by local chef Adrian Aina to reflect a different kind of Polynesian island nation (Hawaii, of course, as well as Aotearoa, Tahiti, and Samoa), with the entertainment following suit. If you're worried about missing out on the traditional roast pig, don't—there's lots of Kalua pork to go around. Even better, you'll get to enjoy it fine dining-style at your own private table, with a paired glass of wine."

Go if you like alcohol and a glutton of food. Don't go if you're vegetarian and don't drink. Surprisingly kid friendly as my 5 year old loved watching the dances and found the rice and a few select dishes yummy. The "5 course meal" breakdown is family style shared dishes. 3x dishes per the 4 different islands with associated dances and then a plate of dessert. It's more than enough food. My favorite was the slow cooked pork with rice. Special shout out to that taro bun dipped in coconut cream. Eat your filling as you can't take anything home. While it's $200, I think it's totally worth it if you consider a $75 show with a $125 food package with unlimited drinks and 13 dishes for tasting.

Everyone is greeted with a fresh lei but this is not your typical luau. Pairing the dance and traditional foods with pacific island nations really makes for a truly unique dining experience and a more sophisticated night. Each course is beautifully prepared and sized as not to make it impossible to enjoy the next. You will not leave hungry and drinks are included. This was our second time at the Feast at Lele, this time we brought our daughter for her birthday and she really loved it. We let them know in advance and they brought out a special dessert for her. The ocean front location is spectacular during sunset. The staff is on top of your every need throughout the event. Tipping is a must! Plenty of inexpensive parking in the lot across the street using a phone app to pay. There is also parking in the garage under the shops at 505 Front Street that accepts credit card payments.

I feel like the odd man out here after reading the other reviews. I've been to Hawaii a handful of times, and I've done a few luau's. This is not that, and they don't market that it is one, we did this by default because the other option was booked. First, the location is great. Good views on the beach and nice setup. They had 1 local vendor I saw selling some merchandise, typically at a luau you'd see several. The drinks weren't bad, in my opinion, good presentation and good flavor. They servers kept the drinks coming as quickly as you could drink them. The food, in my opinion, was not that great. You get served what they have, 5 courses of a variety of semi warm to cold food. I didn't leave hungry, but for nearly $200, my expectations and standards were far above what I was served. The entertainment wasn't bad they all did a good job. Of course, a favorite for many is the fire dancer. That's the last act. If I were asked by family or friends coming to the island what they should do, I'd say hands down a luau. If you've seen a few and want something different, this might be an option if you're not a picky eater. Cheers!

We (a party of ten) went to a luau that started right before sunset, and were seated all at one table. The servers gave amazing service even though there were hundreds of people to serve, coming frequently to collect dishes and get refills on the very plentiful drink menu. Achoholic beverages were offered with virgin options for most drinks. Food was served family style. The show was very entertaining. Menu was on a qr code. The sunset was beautiful.

My entire family came to the luau last night and we all had an absolute blast! I saw some reviews saying the portions were too small but you can ask for seconds of anything (except one shrimp dish). There were 5 of us so we definitely took advantage of that and we all left stuffed! Three of us don’t eat meat, and our server even brought us more of a fish dish unprompted because she knew we couldn’t have one of the dishes in that course. That’s just one example of the stellar service we received here! The drinks were all delicious (especially the lava flow and the banana drink) and I highly recommend their drink pairings for the different courses. I was worried with so many people it would be hard to track down our server to get the pairings but that was not the case at all because she was so attentive! Finally, the entertainment was so fun. I have been to a luau before but I’ve never been to one where they define the geographical location of the food and dance like this one so that was a real treat. The fire dancers at the end were absolutely incredible too and can’t be missed! Overall, I highly recommend this luau. Don’t be scared away by the high price tag - it’s so worth it!

Delicious food and great entertainment. Short ribs and chicken were a highlight. Loved the taro bread in coconut milk! The Tahitian vanilla shrimp was surprisingly good. Beverages were not stop, and entertainment was a delight. The lomi salmon and cassava chips were also fantastic. Great dinner for the whole family. We got there 30 minutes early and were able to get street parking. Probably 10 people in line before us, and this was on a Sunday night. We were also able to grab a photo with the performers after the show. We all had a wonderful time.

Amazing night of food and entertainment! It helped that our table was front and centre with the perfect, unobstructed view. Not sure how tables are selected per reservation, whether it’s because we reserved our booking MONTHS in advance when planning our trip, or if it was because we ended up being first in line at check in because we got to the restaurant earlier than expected. (I believe the former because the woman had our names on a paper and appeared to read off the assigned table from that paper). I’d say there was about 4 rows of tables behind us but couldn’t entirely tell. Sucked to think they paid the same as us when they likely didn’t have as great of a view. (However - not my problem!) Food was overall quite good, lots of new (to us) foods and flavour combos - some very tasty, some just okay. Picky eaters likely won’t be a fan of the spread. 3 small plates of different items per course but LOTS of food for the two of us, plus the all inclusive drinks helped fill us up even more. One of us has a tree nut allergy which we noted upon reservation and they were very attentive to this, both calling ahead of time to confirm as well as the waiter noting it upon our arrival. We were there on American Thanksgiving and they had a couple additional items on the menu to reflect that, which was cute. Our service was almost the best part of the night! Waiter was so fun and sassy (in a good way), rapping out the items per each course when he brought them. We definitely set the tone for him to know he can be silly around us, since we heard him speak to other couples/kids etc. in a totally different tone, personalized to them. Very attentive staff in my opinion. A different waiter came by to serve our drinks, asking between courses or when a drink was running low if we wanted another. Entertainment was also 5 stars. The hostess of the evening gave a brief explanation of each place we were “travelling to” after we had been served that corresponding course; afterward a brief 5ish minute dance traditional to that culture was performed. The dancers, makeup and attire, and their enthusiasm on stage were excellent and really enhanced the experience. The fire dance at the end that was performed during dessert was also impressive (and longer than expected!) Overall a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Maui. Based on outside reviews comparing this Luau to others on the island it’s one of the top ones, and it felt like it was. Being on the beach, seeing the sunset behind us, a fresh flower lei among everything else I’ve mentioned, it was highly worth it. Expensive of course ($500.00 CAD and gratuity not included - all tips are split among all the employees) but definitely a “once in a lifetime” evening. Total time ~3 hours. Escorted to our seats at 5:15pm, ended promptly at 8:30pm.

We were looking for a Luau experience that was focused on the food and service, and this venue did not disappoint. We had awesome service from Molana and Charles serving our food and drinks for each course. The atmosphere was perfect with a crowd that was not too large on a beautiful night. Drinks, food, and performances were enjoyable even though the West Maui hillside was on fire.
