The 11 Best-Value Restaurants In Central London

"Homesick Brazilians flock to Feijão Do Luis, a Brazilian restaurant in the basement of a bar in Fitzrovia. This community spot hosts live music and screens big Brazilian football matches, but the food is what most come for. Big plates of beef ribs, chicken parmigiana, and stroganoff alongside de Souza’s inimitable hospitality. The feijoada, a hearty black bean stew, is as good as any you’ll find in the city, with plenty of pork ribs and smoky sausage. Served with buttery farofa with caramelised onion, it makes for a nap-inducing lunch." - jake missing

The 9 Best Brazilian Restaurants In London

"That Brazilian food is now widespread has plenty to do with Luiz de Souza, who opened Brazilian Touch Cafe on Oxford Street in the mid-1990s. Homesick Brazilians still flock to Luiz’s restaurant, now located in a basement below a bar in Fitzrovia. Feijão Do Luis (Portuguese for Luis’ beans) has long been a central London community point, hosting live music and screening big Brazilian football matches, but the food is what most come for. Big plates of beef ribs, chicken parmigiana, and stroganoff alongside de Souza’s inimitable hospitality. The feijoada, a hearty black bean stew, is as good as any you’ll find in the city, with plenty of pork ribs and smoky sausage. Feijão Do Luis - Review - Fitzrovia - London - The Infatuation

"When Luiz de Souza arrived in London in the 1980s, Brazilian food was almost impossible to come by. That it’s now widespread has plenty to do with de Souza, who opened Brazilian Touch Cafe on Oxford Street in the mid-1990s. Homesick Brazilians still flock to Luiz’s restaurant, which has moved from Oxford Street to a basement below a bar on nearby Hanway Street in Fitzrovia. The Best Brazilian Restaurants in London: Where to Eat Brazilian Food - Eater London

"O Feijão do Luis is the least likely restaurant on this list. Above a tourist shop opposite Primark on Oxford Street, a Brazilian flag hangs like a beacon. Head upstairs once inside the aforementioned shop and you’re greeted by a small dining room and very un-central London kitchen. A short menu is scribbled on A4 paper. There are snacks (killer coxinhas and kibes) and a few mains: stroganoff; steak with rice and beans; feijoada. The latter is perhaps not the city’s best, but silky and generously porky, served traditionally, and an £8 portion is enough for two." - Tomé Morrissy-Swan

This is exactly what we were looking for lunch. I was craving Brazilian food and I found this little place hidden in small street. The food was delicious, same taste as grandma’s food, good portions and the service was very nice. They all speak Portuguese so it felt like home. I’d recommend this place 100% and would come back here when visiting London again!

Feels like going for dinner to your Brazilian nan. Tasty homemade, hearty and traditional meals. The place is very basic and small which I loved, not pretentious nor fancy at all, just perfect and unique experience to try the best Brazilian meal I’ve had abroad. Delicious.

It was well priced for the portion and the owner was really nice. However, I didn’t like how nothing had a price? Also, the location is a bar so the seats and floor was very sticky.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Feijão da Luiz, the Brazilian restaurant located just around 100 meters from Tottenham Court Road station. The restaurant's second-floor location provides a cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements the wonderful culinary experience. The menu is a treat for the taste buds! We savored the mouthwatering ribs accompanied by black beans, rice, and refreshing salads. The pork dish, paired with Brazilian potatoes, was equally delightful. The flavors were authentic and left a lasting impression. The service was exceptional, marked by warmth and kindness. The staff took a genuine interest in us, engaging in friendly conversations and making us feel right at home. It's clear that they take pride in delivering not only great food but also an unforgettable dining experience. Feijão da Luiz brought back memories of truly flavorful meals. It's been a while since I've enjoyed such delectable dishes, and I left the restaurant feeling thoroughly satisfied and happy. If you're in Central London and looking for an authentic Brazilian culinary adventure, Feijão da Luiz is the place to be. Highly recommended.

Really small restaurant but the food is amazing, tastes just like it was homemade from your mom. The portions sizes are good and the price is fair (maybe even cheap considering it’s London). Staff is really nice and actually Brazilian! Do not judge this place by its appearance, it’s actually really nice!

Tucked away out of sight on top of a vapehut shop with no store front of its own, this is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it opportunity to enjoy a decent meal in Oxford Street. A cosy place that caters to the Brazilian community (so much so that they'll greet you in Portuguese when you enter), you'll find traditional meals and snacks. Included on the menu are feijoada (the traditional stew made from several different meats and black beans, served with rice and all the traditional accompaniments), delicious and supersized coxinha do frango (delicious chicken croquettes), and (my personal favourite) the chewy pao de quiejo, traditional cheese bread. Everything was deliciously, served quickly and filling. The service is prompt and friendly, with a casual atmosphere, so you can be in and out and back to bagging bargains in less than 45mins, with a bellyful of delicious brazilian food to fuel you.

Hidden gem! Great prices, lovely staff, awesome atmosphere and very tasty food. The natural juices are so refreshing and I love the coxinhas. Took some empadinhas for the road and they were amazing.
