When you enter this place you have two difficult choices to make, well truth to be told you have many choices to make between the many delicious baked goods. Load up on whatever catches your fancy and then decide whether you’ll enjoy them with coffee or tea (there are plenty of options to ask for from the very professional and friendly staff) The choice then comes down to staying in the cozy setting and draw in the smells from the ovens while you enjoy a cinnamon bun OR take it to go for the short three minute walk down to the promenade nearby to take in the view of downtown Manhattan from one of the many benches. This place is authentic and a great addition to this charming neighborhood.

Delicious cinnamon bun and chocolate coconut bun! I am excited to see their full menu soon. It's already my second visit in one day! I saw that they had baguettes and couldn't resist, plus I also had the cardamom bun and it was even better than the buns from this morning.

The princess cake from this new Swedish bakery in Brooklyn Heights is probably my favorite dessert of 2025 so far. If anyone remembers, IKEA used to serve princess cakes in their cafeteria, but they discontinued the cakes years ago. That’s why I was overjoyed to discover this new spot offering this classic swedish dessert, alongside other baked goods like cardamom buns. *Cardamom Bun $6 *Chocolate Coconut Bun $6 The cardamom bun is aromatic with distinct cardamom warmth. Texture wise, it is soft and lightly glazed, though flatter in shape compared to the ones I’ve had elsewhere. The chocolate coconut bun is not too sweet, possibly made with dark cocoa? They also have cinnamon buns but I didn’t get them this time. *Princess Cake $9.5 *** Unlike the traditional princess cake, which is served in a green marzipan dome, Ferrane’s version is more like a “tiramisu”, presented in a silver tall cup. It’s layered with vanilla sponge cake, raspberry jam, and whipped cream, topped with a thin sheet of green marzipan. It is tart, fluffy, and decadent. I didn’t even want to share! Also got an iced americano ($5), pretty decent. I only wished they had a restroom.

What a lovely place and wonderful people! 👸 We came to try the Princess Cake — a Scandinavian classic. The flavor isn’t too overwhelming or sugary like many American desserts, but calm and well-balanced. 👨‍🍳 The bakery team also treated us to cinnamon and cardamom buns — 5 out of 5! The cinnamon one is my favorite, but my husband prefers unusual flavors, so he voted for the cardamom. 🇸🇪 While speaking with one of the owners, we learned a lot about Swedish flavors and the history of Princess Cake. It really means a lot when people respect their roots, celebrate their identity, and don’t try to cater to everyone’s taste — that’s what makes this place unique. 🪴 The interior is the coziest! I could spend the whole day there. 🕓 They’re still fine-tuning things after opening, so if you want to try something specific, it’s best to come before 3–4 PM. Overall, highly recommend!

Glad to see such a beautiful space in the neighborhood. The princess cake looks so elegant. I quite enjoyed the texture and first few bites before it got too sweet towards end:)

Google
Ferrane Bakery totally lives up to the hype, best croissant in the city and the affogato soft serve was amazing! Also the street where the bakery is located is 10/10. I’ll defiantly come back!

Have you ever wanted to get on a plane, fly to Stockholm, and drown your worldly sorrows in a pastry? Well, now you don’t have to get on a plane! Stepping into Ferrane Bakery feels like a mini vacation where “Kaffe und Kuchen” is apart of an afternoon schedule. Locals who grew up here informed us that the location used to be a seedy former strip club. They would cross the street to avoid it. You would never be able to tell with the light wood clad interior and welcoming pastry case. The old photograph on the wall remains proof. The pastries are very light and lovely. We came here for the princess cake specifically. My friend and I used to get the cake from IKEA before they stopped selling it so it’s been nice to see a revival at places from Radio Bakery to Ferrane. I look forward to coming back as their menu and offerings expand.

Yelp
Cardamom buns are always on my radar, so when I saw Ferrane on social media, it was a definite bookmark. It's right around the corner from the Clark street subway stop, so very convenient. They also sell some home products like candles, lotions, and even packaged Bon Bon candy! - cardamom bun: thinner than my favorite from La cabra, and unfortunately dry :( this was a little disappointing. They also recommended getting the cinnamon bun which I might try if we go again? But not a huge fan of this one - matcha: wouldn't recommend.. maybe just stick with the coffee. It had very little matcha flavor and was quite sweet at the end While the bakery itself is decorated nicely and has some tables to dine, they didn't have the AC running so be mindful on a warm day

Yelp
We came in the early afternoon on our way to take the 2 train into Manhattan. It is conveniently on the same block. The interior was spacious and built in the classic clean minimalist Swedish architectural style. We got a few baked goods. I do recommend that they offer boxes for when there's a big order as opposed to putting each pastry in a separate bag. We got the last cardamom bun. The style was different from the La Cabra one. I think I prefer the La Cabra one more. The Swedish Cinnamon buns were very good. We thought their croissants were very well done as well! We tried the chocolate, original and almond ones! We came during soft opening an are excited to continue to try this place as they offer a more extensive menu!

Yelp
Stopped by the long awaited Ferrane today, which was pretty crowded for a rainy morning. It's located right around the corner from the Clark St (2/3) station, within walking distance of an equally famous bakery on nearby Montague. Ferrane is currently in their soft opening, so the menu is limited to pastries like cardamom and cinnamon buns for now, but I cannot wait to see what is in store. I had the pleasure of trying their semla at their popup a few months ago so I really hope that will return to the menu soon, or even savory options. The space is gorgeous, with a window to the other side, where you can watch bakers hard at work while sipping coffee, and tables bathed in warm, cozy lighting. I ordered the cardamom bun ($6) which was thinner and flatter than the other buns I've tried thus far at Smør and La Cabra, but I really loved this choice because it ended up being less dense and doughy overall. Ferrane's version felt larger and more decadent because of the flatter side, and was absolutely drenched in syrup. With flecks of crushed cardamom cradled in between all those mesmerizing swirls, I would definitely say it won me over and has toppled Fabrique in becoming my favorite cardamom bun in the city. I will definitely return soon to try their chocolate coconut buns and rye bread!

Yelp
With love from Sweden, Eritrea, and Morocco, Ferrane Bakery is a beautiful bakery that offers various types of pastries - we tried their chocolate buns, their cardamom buns, drip coffee (coming from farmers in East Africa!), and the Afghani Chai. Note that they are currently in their soft opening stage, so the menu is limited. The interior is pretty and bright, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Service was on point, and the lines continued to move along, which was great. A spot to pickup up some pastries for get-togethers or to satisfy the munchies. +buns +friendly service

Yelp
New cafe on Brooklyn heights that has a nice ambience and decent baked goods! I had the cardamom buns and they were really tasty but expensive!

Yelp
Popped in during my walk around Brooklyn heights remembering I saw they had just opened. I went after the morning coffee rush so it was empty. Very nice space, open and modern but homey. I grabbed a croissant to go and it was amazing. So so good. Great coffee as well. Prices to be expected. Def a nice spot for coffee and pastries!

Yelp
Soft cardamom buns, strong coffee, friendly service and calm decor and music. It was very relaxing for a NYC coffee shop/bakery. So many are frantic, anxious places that this is a nice reprieve.

Yelp
After getting my fav coffee from Drip next door (in subway station). Wondered in and grabbed a plain croissant, my god it's the best I've ever had! Super fragrant, must be the butter they use in the baking? I've lived in NYC for over 14 years and have been to Paris (but didn't go out of my way to try the best rated bakeries there). Excited to try their cardamom bun and compare it to Fabrique and La Cabra's.

Yelp
Maybe it was an off day because the cinnamon bun was limp, the chocolate bun was aight, and the cardamom bun does not match up to Fabrique or Otway. Rye bread was sold out. Also the person who rung me up was way too young to have such little joy or enthusiasm. Wouldn't rush back.
