Yelp
I have to admit: I heard about them months before they opened, when there was a span of months between Great Society closing and knowing a cidery was opening nearby *soon*, where there was no craft cider in DTLB and we were sad, so I basically camped out their instagram so I could be the first member of the public to try their cider, and then their soft open, they were so excited to be open, I was so excited to get to try it, the owners when I got to meet them were super friendly and excited about the cider, and then their cider was just... ok. Like, it was fine, but I had high expectations from the wait, and it was just "fine". So I didn't want to post a review and hurt their rating. Then covid and all the shutdowns and everything sapped my enthusiasm somewhat, it felt weird with everything closed, but during that time, they haven't stopped making cider. Now that things are opening a little, I've had the chance to come back and try all of their newer releases, and they've all totally blown me away, including the newest official one, Solace Beach (solid 5/5 on untappd), and a new coffee cider that's not officially on the menu at the moment, but they still had it a few days ago, called Harbor Buzz, my favorite so far and one of my favorite ciders anywhere.
So I feel like they rushed slightly to get open, but now that they've hit their stride, everything they're doing is great. They're still totally just as friendly and excited, but now, I can also recommend all the cider without reservation ;). They just started canning, and their cans look great. $8 for a solid glass of cider is a totally reasonable price (though I suppose I'm also biased, cause I joined their Inciders program before they even open, which gets me a larger pour for the same price :D), and for right now with their inside seating closed, they have their side alley open, with three little 2-person tables in a semi-private setting perfectly shielded from the sun. I really actually hope they keep those tables open even when covid restrictions end! And while for their sake I hope they do start their in-house food program I heard they were trying to build before covid hit, for *my* sake I hope they keep it as bring-your-own-food, cause cider and burger+fries is basically the ultimate food combo, and Burger Daddy is like a block away. Burger Daddy + cider + shaded outdoor seating... oh, and they just started doing rotating-flavor cider slushies(!!) a few days ago. Places like this help my sanity right now, so I'm glad they're around!
(Isn't it going to be so weird in a year or whatever, reading all these during-pandemic reviews, though? Haha.)
