"Finback, which started in Queens, goes all in on hops. There are around a dozen beers on draft at its Brooklyn location, most of which are IPAs, and an unconventional food menu with dumplings and fried chicken. The brewery’s original location is in Glendale, Queens." - Luke Fortney, Eater Staff

My wife and I had our wedding at Finback. We booked the space for the entire day. Niko and the team at Finback could not have been more helpful and supportive. They were really flexible in terms of how we wanted to structure the day, food, drinks, layout, etc. They worked really well with our vendors and the bartenders were super attentive and friendly. We and our guests had an incredible time. The fried chicken got rave reviews. I would highly recommend having your event in this space. Could not have been more fun.

Every time I go to Finback I am in my happy place. The taproom is airy and open, with plenty of space for larger groups to hangout. They always have a great sour, or something else of preference, on tap. Definitely in my top favorite breweries in Brooklyn!

We hosted the welcome event for our wedding at finback two weeks ago and had the best time! We rented the upstairs mezzanine area. All of our guests loved the wide selection of drinks and thought the space was really cool. While the food Finback serves is delicious, we wanted a classic NY flair for our out of town guests, so brought in pizza for dinner! Nico, Max and Greg, the three managers we worked with throughout our planning process, were all super great and easy to work with! They let us be very flexible with the space and even let us have a henna station going during the party. They definitely helped set the right tone for the rest of our wedding weekend. Highly recommend them for any event!

Google
Great craft beer. The acoustics could’ve been better, the noise level gets out of control and you have to yell so the person next to you hears you. Big plus, they have food! The wings are delicious, and a great portion. The cucumber salad is also amazing. Friendly staff.

Google
Another great brewery with a cool taproom. Nice and busy on a Saturday afternoon but we got a table with ease and got down to the beer. As expected the beer was first class, you can’t go wrong with Brooklyn breweries. They don’t offer any alternative serving sizes so watch the strengths!!!

Google
The Among the Bandits ipa is very tasty. I’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed their brews. I ate here once and ordered the cucumber salad, crab rangoons, and dumplings. Everything was tasty. In general space and atmosphere is very chill. Sometimes I think it can get a bit loud when it’s crowded

I hosted my birthday at Finback BK in the Lounge next to the main bar and everything was fantastic. Space was perfect and scheduling/planning was super easy with Niko. The food was absolutely delicious! Max & Greg were superstars the whole night making sure everything was going well. They (and the other bartenders) were so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend hosting a party/event here. Would also come back for a chill night out with friends for some beer/food.

I really liked it! So many beers, wonderful taste, nice place! Realy relaxing! The teal brooklyn place 🥰

Yelp
I know this is a brewery, but we must discuss the food first. Pork and chive dumplings are THE BEST ever! Perfect every time. Juicy and hot and flavorful. Salt and pepper wings are SO crunchy on the outside and juicy and hot on the inside. First time having the shrimp spring rolls and they are amazing. Whole shrimp with tail wrapped in flour wrapper and perfectly fried. Beer is always good and varies. Cocktails are fantastic. Hubby always has aquavit gin and tonic. His absolute fav. And I always go for their vodka with a splash of grapefruit. Here tonight to celebrate a good friend and happy to do so.

Yelp
Really fun brewery/bar. Decent cocktail selection but it's not a FULL bar (like you can't get an old fashioned but they have something called the black Manhattan). They also have some food you can order (but you can also bring in your own). We had the wings and dumplings, both very good.

Christopher C.

Yelp
This place is kind of a joke. They've made good beers, here and there, over the years, but the vibe and attitude of those working here is sub-par. And more sour than their most sour beer (which I'm sure is equivalently miserable). Especially when the quality of the beer they're putting out, overall, ain't great. No wonder locals and beer folks in the area and 'hood told me to skip. My same advice to you, my dear Yelpers.

Sarah M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place for hanging out with a large group. There was a lot of time and many big tables. I wish I could give this place a better rating, but I did not enjoy my beers or my food. It was just okay... but would probably go back to hang out in the space.

Morgan Z.

Yelp
We stopped in at Finback during a little brew tour in the area and we enjoyed the relaxed vibe and the beers! The beertender was helpful in suggesting options from their large menu of draft beers, cocktails and food. We ordered a New England IPA and a N/A IPA and both were really good! The beertender said they were know for their NE IPAs and now we see why. I'd recommend stopping in for a good beer or cocktail or to try out something from their dumpling and bar food menu!

Bill T.

Yelp
We had a beer club meetup here and it was awesome. The bartender was flying solo and it was kind of busy but he did a great job keeping up. They have a good variety of beer and the space is great. There were a lot of artworks hanging on the walls so I love that this seems like a gallery, community meeting space and beer hall rolled into one.

Yelp
Finback Brewery is one of the latest NYC breweries I have go to try lately and it was a fairly good experience. The beer that Steve and I tried was the Premium. This was an IPA with Grapefruit, tropical, fruity, citrus flavors. And what was that? Yes, I detected just a hint of bubblegum flavor. Now I do love bubblegum flavor but sometimes when it's in beer, usually Hefeweizens it can be a bit overpowering with the rest of the flavor bouquet. But with this beer, the Premium it was so subtle that it just played along nicely with the other flavors rather than dominate and having that kind of control over this flavor which has been tricky for some is considerably masterful.

Yelp
I had a nice time here celebrating a friend's birthday Saturday afternoon. It seemed like everyone else in the neighborhood had the same idea to hide away from the rain. My friends who go often said it had never been that crowded. Unfortunately there was only one line for drinks and food and it took me 15 minutes to grab anything. Once I got to order they were super efficient and quick with my order. I ordered the spring fizz, guavamente, dumplings and fries. Pleasantly surprised with the dumplings and fries. Super filling and easy to share. They had a good selection of beers and cocktails that could appeal to everyone in a group. The space itself was very spacious with a lot of separate seating and what looked like an upstairs for private events. The atmosphere itself was very laid back and chill.

Tony L.

Yelp
Asian-owned, really good selection of beers, and plenty of seating. The place felt like something from Williamsburg/Bushwick but less pretentious. The staff was super friendly and the food offerings were good. We had just come from another place, but we can't resist fries so we went for an order. They were shoe string fries with some pepper flakes -- it was good overall, but I would have liked more oil to give it more flavour; I'm sure people who are going for healthier fries would prefer it though. Can't wait to come back and try more!

ReviewHaiku F.

Yelp
Another win for Finback! The beers are solid The seating was cramped* * lots of people, but the bartenders handled it well

Bill W.

Yelp
I love this place. The beer. The gin. The service. The ambiance. We stop here every time we are passing through. Love it.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Seems like this place is always pack on Friday and weekends. Good vibes with amazing flavorful drink. Outdoor space with two levels to hang around. We only tried the beer and the favorite was memory and perception that will knock you off your feet. Grab small bites for a hefty price but the wings were well worth it. Nice crunch and flavor if you like your wings fried well. Order at the bar and self serve water station.

Jillian B.

Yelp
Really enjoyed everything about finback! The beer is pricey, but delicious and great quality. My partner and I split a flight and an order of their fries which were perfectly crispy with a bit of spice. Atmosphere inside was very spacious, and looked to have a separate space upstairs for events.

Yelp
This Brooklyn outpost for Finback is great! Have always loved their beers, particularly their sours as well as their stouts. Recently I've been really into their stouts including the Marshmallow Drip and their Coconut Drip - these beers are like drinking dessert in a glass! They not only do beers, but are in the distilling business as well, and make a mean gin & tonic. During COVID it was an all outdoors setup, but now they've opened their amazing indoors and scaled back their outdoor footprint. Plenty of seats at the bar as well as many tables. Place is super inviting, and on weekends you'll see a pretty eclectic crew including many families with young kids. Looks like they have a limited food menu, but I've never eaten there. Looks like they're building out an upstairs portion, so it'll be interesting if they'll keep that for employees only or open up to the public. Another great brewery to add to the bourgeoning craft beer scene in south Brooklyn. With the unfortunate loss of Svendale and Folksbier in Brooklyn, it's great to have some new comers into the neighborhood!

Patrick S.

Yelp
Beer: 4 stars. Noise level: 2 stars (too loud!) Food: 3 stars at most (too much fat / fried stuff) Plastic use: Come on, WHY do you have to use plastic at all (see photo)?: 1 star.

Cyrus A.

Yelp
Finback's Brooklyn location is great! It's a big, open room, with plenty of seating. And, in case it needed to be said, plenty of good beer! They had a little over a dozen beers on tap when I was there, with a wide variety ranging from hoppier IPAs to insanely sweet stouts. They also have cocktails on the menu, but I can't comment on them because I stuck to beers. Staff is fantastic, the two bartenders were friendly and great about keeping things moving. Even with a crowded bar, there was never a long wait before one of them got to me. With lots of great restaurants minutes away on foot, I think Finback is a great pre- or post-dinner stop for a delicious drink!

Yelp
Big space with plenty of seating. Nice place to hang out with a few friends. Got a good hazy beer and espresso martini here.

Yelp
Finback Brewery is a craft brewery that opened in Queens, New York in January 2014. It was founded by business partners Basil Lee and Kevin Stafford. Lee is a licensed professional architect, but he had a passion for drinking craft beer. He home-brewed for a few years with his friend and fellow craft beer aficionado Stafford (a graphic artist), and then the two decided to pursue their dream of opening a craft brewery in New York City. They first tried to find a location in Brooklyn, but multiple deals fell through. Finally they were able to secure a location in the Glendale section of Queens. Originally they were going to call their brewery 'Narwhal' until Sierra Nevada Brewing Company released a beer with the same name. Then the partners were inspired to name their brewery 'Finback' after a real finback whale became beached and died in Queens in 2012. Lee and Stafford struggled for so long to secure their location that they too sometimes felt like a "beached whale". In spite of the fact that the brewery was a solid 30-minute walk from the nearest subway station, lines soon began to form around the block for their can releases. Finback's mission is to brew a variety of different beer styles with great flavor and complexity from quality ingredients and small batch artisanal brewing. A second location opened in Brooklyn in March 2020 and there are currently plans to open a third in Long Island. I recently visited Finback's Brooklyn location while I was cycling around NYC with a cycling buddy of mine. I have tasted some of their beers before from DeCicco's and was impressed with what I tried so far. The Brooklyn taproom is located in the Gowanus neighborhood. The interior was spacious and my friend and I pretty much had the place to ourselves during our visit. My passion is for hoppy unfiltered IPAs, so I decided to order a flight of four samples consisting of "Sun Drenched", "Manhattan Bound F Local Train", "Growing Towards The Sun", and "Yellow Cake". I enjoyed all four, but the latter (a Lemon Lactose Vanilla Milkshake IPA) was easily my favorite. Brewed in collaboration with Sterling, Virginia-based Crooked Run Fermentation, it reminded me of lemon-orange Italian ice. My friend isn't too crazy about IPAs, so he asked if I was interested in splitting a Farmhouse Ale. We ended up sharing a bottle of "Floating In A Sunbeam" which was tart with great notes of blueberries and cherries. Overall, I had a really nice experience at Finback Brooklyn. I look forward to visiting the original location in Queens.

Yelp
Next up the the brewery hop -- Finback at their BKN outpost. Smells like fresh wood when you walk in and I do believe they are putting some finishing touches on a mezzanine floor which looks like it could provide a grand birds eye view of the tap room. The multi-color geometric mural serving as the back splash to the 20 tap handles reminded me fondly of Mikkellar. At least 16 of the tap handles were dedicated to fresh suds on our visit, mostly of the hoppy, sour, and bold stout kind. They were even serving some cold brew but not sure if this was on tap or not. IPA's were fresh and crisp; cloudy in appearance but thankfully missing a powdery mouthfeel. Ample sitting inside and there's even a small outdoor section up front. Great vibes and fresh beer to round out a lovely afternoon of brewery hopping.

Yelp
Gowanus might have the highest density of elite craft beer breweries in the universe. Finback fulfills the IPA niche on the Gowanus roster boasting a superb selection of IPAs, DIPAs, TIPAs, and a handful of other beer styles in case your annoying IPA loving friends dragged you to this taproom. I decided to go for a flight of IPAs. They absolutely nailed the NEIPA style. Certainly on par with anything you'd find at Other Half or any other top flight IPA brewery in Mid-Atlantic or New England. Service was quick. I believe they had four gender neutral restrooms with one being handicap accessible. It's an outstanding to host an event or a large group.

A A.

Yelp
The stars are for the great ambiance and a nice space to sit in. However the bartenders chose to ignore me for several minutes and serve other customers who came to the bar after me. They were also fairly curt. Better off going somewhere else with so many other great breweries with friendly staff 2 blocks away

Kimmy U.

Yelp
New brewery in the neighborhood, in an area that already has Three's, Strong Rope, and Wild East not too far away. Great if your'e looking to bar hop or wait for a table at one of the others! Finback's space looks very promising and I can't wait for normalcy to return so we can enjoy their indoor area. Right now, they have some big barrel tables outside. A month or two ago they had even more outdoor space that extended onto the street. You'll have to get a bag of chips with your order per NY state law, but yay for hot cheeto fries! My bf has tried a few of their beers, and I've tried their gin & tonics. I'm a bigg fan of their g&t's!! We've also bought cans to go, but weren't super impressed with their pilsner. Always down to try something else though when we go back

Greg B.

Yelp
My son suggested Finback Brewery, next to the Marriott we were staying in, so we visited with my DW and my son's family. Outside seating was small and not weather appropriate, so went in even with a small baby (not 21, but only 2 months old). The good news the flights were available, so we took some variety of beers, lager, pilsner, stouts & sour - all 4 for $18. Now granted this place is not Pure project in Vista (with indoor taproom and outdoor patio) or my another favorite one also in Vista - Eppig Brewing, but the beers were surprisingly good. Not sure about food at the time of our visit, back in Vista CA - it's always food trucks, here would be no room for it to park. Next time we are in Park Slope, visiting our son, we will come back to try more beers at Finback Brewery.

Tricia H.

Yelp
My Husband and I were thrilled when Finback opened across the street from the Hilton Garden in LIC! We particularly love the atmosphere, and the drink selections!

Eden R.

Yelp
Came for the notorious beers. Stayed for the dumplings. The space is really cold in a good way. There's seating upstairs, cute bathroom lighting, the food comes to you quick, if you happen to order any. Bartenders are pretty fast!

First L.

Yelp
Excellent New England style Hazy IPAs on rotation. Kinda Brooklyn has nice golden color, fruity nose and long lasting finish. It's a great beer and is now my barometer for what I look for in a Hazy IPA. Unfortunately, it's not in their current rotation. I hope Finback brings it back. Rolling in the Clouds is also excellent. Lemon Cake has too much vanilla flavor.

Ed C.

Yelp
Great food to nibble on including dumplings, quick and friendly service and a vibe and ambiance that can only be described as Brooklynesque. Large selection of really good fraught beers to satisfy all Pilsner, lager, IPA and cider aficionados. Treat yourself to this Park Slope watering hole and enjoy!

Rohin S.

Yelp
Second drunken stop of the night after coming from another brewery to keep the night going. The vibe of this place was super cool. Very industrial and modern which was kind of mesmerizing with their cool bar backdrop. Lots of neon colors and exposed plywood (unsure if they're still renovating or what). Lots of big tables for bigger groups and was east to get a seat and stable for the hour/two I was there. Staff was chill and helpful. I saw dogs inside so probably allowed too. Beer/food: I ended up trying two beers there, one was their pale ale which was decent (3.5/5) and another which was a Pilsner that had some zesty undertones which I was less a fan of and would veer away from. They had some bar snacks which were atypical and on the "fancier side" - dumplings, wings, etc. tried the chicken wings which were fried absolutely perfectly, great crunch and retention of inner moisture (lol) but was fairly lacking in seasoning, was just tossed on. I'd give it a 3/5. Dumplings were really lackluster for me, the inside wasn't as stuffed as I hoped and they were obviously cooked on a stove with burnt prior dumplings cause that was the predominant taste for me, I'd avoid them (2/5). I think it's a cool spot but I think I enjoyed the vibe of the place more than what they actually offered. I'll probably stop by again and try to see if I can find what beers they are known for.

Mark C.

Yelp
Solid IPA's! Good sours. Cool tasting room all that raw plywood and neon. There's five breweries in the area Gowanus is shaping up to be our own private Asheville.

Sophia B.

Yelp
Really love this place. First came here about a year ago-they make some incredible beers and drinks. I normally don't like gin/tonic drinks, but something about what they do here is different. Plus I love the presentation! Personally I've enjoyed every beer I've had here-and that's quite rare for me. So excited they celebrated an anniversary recently, excited to see what they'll brew next.

Marissa S.

Yelp
Somehow I totally missed that this moved in to the area and was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon it today. The space is cute albeit somewhat basic but clearly very new and pretty large with some outdoor seating too. Great service and recs - love their IPAs! Will be back.

Amol U.

Yelp
Finback is an instant add to my shortlist of 'favorite NYC breweries.' This spot is in one of the most brewery-heavy neighborhoods in the city. You're right by Threes, Wild East, and Strong Rope, and close-ish to Folksbier and Other Half .. which is to say, this is a great area to (eventually, post-pandemic!) go brewery-hopping. On to Finback itself. First impressions: the space is cool. Spacious, with a minimalist, yet trendy vibe. The indoor space is huge, so while there's no way to make reservations, it was easy enough to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and get seated right away. For now, I like that the seating is spaced out enough to feel comfortable, and that they don't keep seating time limits as some venues now do. In the future, I think it'll turn into a buzzy, energetic hangout space (when that sort of thing exists again!) Sidenote: there are a few barrels with 2-3 seats each and a table that seats 6ish outside, all open / uncovered. So if you're set on sitting outdoors and it's cold, rainy, and/or you're in a bigger group, this may not work out. The beer menu is large with a decent range of variety. We sampled a few sours, stouts, and IPAs, and were quite impressed with all of them. No tasting pours or flights yet, which is a bit of a downer, but hopefully that'll change soon. Whatever's your go-to, you'll probably find at least 2-3 options on tap. And if you're not at all into beer, there's also a pretty extensive cocktail menu. Will definitely come back and highly recommend to both beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.

Vaughn F.

Yelp
Another fine craft beer outpost in Gowanus, Finback's Brooklyn taproom is a spacious, tastefully decorated alehouse that also offers cocktails and, in particular, a selection of highbrow gin-and-tonics. On a recent Friday night, my girlfriend and I were seated at a 2-top barrel in the main room. We started with a couple pints of beer that sounded good. The menu offerings are extensive, more than you could drink on a single visit, and flights are not an option. Pick what piques your fancy, or ask a waiter what's good. Dumpling Up, a recently launched pop-up restaurant, was operating at Finback that evening, and I ordered one of everything on the menu: salt and pepper wings, hot fries, and dumplings. I opted for the vegan dumplings as the pork and chive dumplings also contain shrimp, to which I'm allergic. The food was bangin'! I loved the taste and texture of the dumplings, while reveling in the joy of eating vegan for a change. The hot fries are also vegan, and actually aren't all that hot, spiciness-wise; ask for extra chili flakes if you want to kick it up a notch. The wings also hit the spot with the perfect fried chicken flavor and crunch. Jumbo-sized and hearty, these wings are a full meal. Bring an appetite or share with friends. We ordered another round of beers while munching these tasty snacks. At the end, we decided to try a gin-and-tonic, which the bartender was kind enough to split in two glasses for us. A superb finish to an impressive brewery visit. The service was great and the drink selection has something for (almost) everyone. I really liked the interior design and the music selection was on point; sipping a tasty beer here is very much a vibe. I heard that Dumpling Up is currently only available on the weekend, so call ahead or check Instagram for the lastest details.

Yelp
We started going to Finback during the pandemic after having a couple of their beers elsewhere. They are constantly putting out delicious beer and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Now they have some outdoor seating and I am very much looking forward to sitting and having a beer or two. I haven't been to the Queens location yet but I'm sure I'll find my way there at some point. If you are near this place make sure to go and treat yourself. ENJOY!!!

Ashley T.

Yelp
After 5 years of living in NYC and exploring the brewery scene, finback is my fav! Obviously their beers are top of the game, but I also love that there's something for everyone here (good cocktails, non-alcoholic options). It's also appreciated that every beer offered is high quality (pilsners just as good as DDH ipas!) The space is beautiful and airy, and a nice respite if super hot or cold outside. I do wish their outdoor seating situation was more comfortable/thoughtful since there's plenty of space, but I recognize outdoor pandemic seating has really raised the bar I this department. Don't miss out on the homemade dumplings, either! Overall I am always happy with a Finback visit.

Brianna D.

Yelp
The beer, ambiance, and staff are all fantastic at Finback Brooklyn. I was very impressed with the number of draught options. I like how the brewery has different nooks to sit. The central tables have a more buzzy vibe and the corner tables are quieter and more relaxed. Finback followed COVID precautions. The staff is very attentive. Their limited time S'more stout was one of the tastiest beers I've ever had and their styles were very unique. I'll come back soon!

Kenny C.

Yelp
STAY AT HOME, EVERYONE. FLATTEN THE CURVE!!! I'm a huge fan of Finback, but their Queens location is... difficult to get to, to say the least. So I've been watching their Instagram progress and waiting with bated breath for a long time. Their taproom still isn't officially open yet, but during this pandemic, they were open for carry away, so I stopped by to peruse their cans and bottles. Lots of variety, and ended up grabbing an oak aged Brett pilsner, and a mixed culture sour with cherry/mango. Delicious! When they open, they'll have a coffee roaster upstairs, and there will be dumplings available! Can't wait!

Craig Z.

Yelp
This isn't a review of the beer itself. Finback is one of my favorite breweries and I love their beers. Their anniversary beers every year are incredible. Also, recently the Brainalyzer and Two Tuesdays were both awesome. Beyond IPA, just had an incredible barrel aged saison (Continuum). So why 2 stars? I recently picked up a couple 4 packs of beers on a hot summer day and they were soaked with condensation about 80 degrees. Bummer since I was heading to a bbq, but also wondering how much that is going to taint or shorten the shelf life of those beers, as I thought super hoppy fresh IPAs needed to be kept cold. On their website, Finback invites contact, so I reached out and asked, but they didn't respond. Nor to a message on Instagram. Also, some of the cans I got were not full (they weighted much less than others). Is that safe to drink? I don't know. Asked. No answer. Warm beers, not getting what I paid for, and no customer service is why I ended up with this rating

Kristi W.

Yelp
Finback has my favorite pils. I've been an IPA girl for years and still love them, but have started appreciating craft Pilsner. Out of all the locals, I love to stop here and grab cans for home. They had a nice set-up during Covid with outdoor seating and easy take-away. Finback deserves a stop on your Brooklyn brewery tour. Next time I go I'm grabbing a pack of IPAs because I'm sure I'll love them too.

Yelp
Had a few beers after work at Finback Brooklyn on Tuesday evening. In my opinion Finback has the best beers in New York City, and the new Brooklyn space is awesome even though it is not yet complete. Quality: Finback in Queens was such a huge help in getting me through the pandemic. The way they quickly transitioned to be able to provide cans to-go was a game changer and I was a regular customer when living in Forest Hills. So it was an absolute delight knowing that with our move to Park Slope, I would not lose Finback, and in fact it would be closer than before. Finback is by far my favorite brewery in New York, because they nail the essential beers for me, sours, IPAs, and stouts. And during this recent visit we followed that sort of route. We had a draft of Heed the Call IPA, Coasted Toconut an imperial stout, as well as Cool Beans Bro a blonde ale with coffee. Great beers, as usual, and so many more fun options on the menu. Finback Brooklyn also is making coffee and gin, which we will have to explore on a future visit. Quantity: No Flights yet, but they have small pours of some of the darker heavier beers. They also still have plenty of cans and bottles for those not comfortable hanging out yet. Value: $6-$10 for Drafts of Beer. Ambiance: Finback Brooklyn is located in the Gowanus area of Brooklyn. It is the newest brewery addition to an area that has quickly become beer central for New York. The indoor space is wonderful, extremely spacious, chic, and will no doubt be filled up when things return to normal. I'm not entirely sure what the plan is for the outdoor area, which currently stretches into the street. If they lose that it may only be inside, which would be a shame for beautiful days like this one. Crowd: With restrictions slowly lifting, you can already feel this place coming to life. This past weekend, when it was colder, there was a line out the door for indoor seating, and during our visit on a beautiful Tuesday the outdoor area filled quickly. Service: Fast and friendly servers and a good rotation to make sure someone is always available to help. Parking: Street parking in the area, but with the construction near the brewery, it may be a block or two away.

Yelp
One of my local favorites! I was introduced to Finback when my running club (shoutout to the Dashing Whippets!) started doing Wednesday evening brewery runs. Thank you to Finback for giving us a spot to store our bags - and more importantly for the incredible post run brew selection! I've been coming here since May and have never had the same draft twice - a good thing because I can always try something new, a slight con because I can't quite try my favorites again and again. They have some seriously interesting brews here - I definitely want to go sometime when I'm not running and can try some of the higher ABV options, they sound incredible! My favorite to date was a collaboration Finback did with Hoka, which was refreshing but had a spicy pepper kick to it - perfection! The canned selection is also quite strong although I always stick to drafts here - I have brought a 4 pack home before. The space itself is very open and airy - no pandemic concerns here! There's a large open space for those who want to mingle at shared tables or the bar, as well as a quieter area for those who want to get some work done. For the summer months, there is ample seating outside, although they have such a great playlist I almost always want to stay in. The bartenders are all very friendly and happy to offer recommendations and sample pours. I missed a couple of months of running due to injury and they immediately recognized me when I came back! I also learned today they have an alcohol free gin with which they make a beautiful and delicious spritz of sorts! Can't recommend this neighborhood gem enough - my only request would be for them to serve food; however, you are more than welcome to bring takeout or have delivery from all the local restaurants. See you next Wednesday!

Yelp
Wow! I'm a Chicago beer snob--a huge fan of Half Acre's brews--so today's visit to Finback was an epiphany. Yes Virginia, there are other great breweries and beers outside Cook county. Host Niko recommended the flagship Finback IPA and DIPA "Breathing: Conversations," an 8 percenter that rocked me! He followed up with tasters of the sinfully delicious "BA Grazing on the Ordinary + Coffee." I couldn't quit, so I ended with a pint of "Out of Sight." I've seen the light!

Yelp
We came to get their barrel aged 5 year anniversary bottles. When we went in , on your right is a station to get cans, finback memorabilia to go. But what we also saw is a large indoor space with seating. We decided to stop for a quick drink indoors as the tables were seated far apart and it wasn't packed. The finback employee took our temperature and asked us to sign in for tracing. When we sat down, we were quickly served our drinks. The staff came by frequently to see if you needed anything else. Great service and fast as we did not want to stay long either. All staff wore masks/ coverings and kept their distance. Some of the customers were good about keeping masks on and only taking off when drinking. While others had it off while seated down. If you prefer to be outside, there is a decent number of small tables and stools outside to have a beer or two.

Yelp
Finback brewery produces the best IPAs around. They are a strong contender on craft scene!!

Yelp
I had always wanted to go to the other Finback location when it was the only one open, but never was able to because it's miles from the closest subway with no CitiBike or Revel access. So lucky me, this one opens just a short walk from the train! I need to get this off my chest: this place is well known for their beers, but they had a variety of G&Ts on the menu...and they were some of the best gin&tonics I have had! The wings are also outrageously good: massive and crispy--definitely from a large healthy bird. The space is enormous and they have neon signs on the walls. Truly, the whole space is beautiful. The lights and delicious drinks stimulated my mind.

Yelp
Nice place to have beers (and other drinks). An awesome range of draft beers. The mango one was my favorite!! Super friendly staff and nice cozy place to go with your partner or friends!

Yelp
Anyone looking to host a party look no further!! I just hosted my husband and 5 year old's surprise birthday party and I am thoroughly impressed! Niko was there for anything I needed and was so accommodating to my party. The mezzanine overlooking the brewery was the perfect environment for those who want privacy or for those still weary of COVID. I usually go to their Glendale location so I already knew their beers would taste fantastic but I am over the moon happy about my experience in their Brooklyn location.

Yelp
During COVID they are making every effort to sling beer in a comfortable setting. Outside of their tasting room they have set up a few tables and chairs to enjoy some of their tasty brews at. Disappointed we couldn't go inside as the new taproom looks awesome. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Construction and opening of Finback BK was delayed due to Covid-19, but folks are still able to swing by this tiny outpost to pick up fresh, delicious beer. Located near Threes Brewing (plus not too far from Other Half and soon SixPoint's new brewery), it'll be exciting to check out this place once this place officially opens. Finback's IPAs are excellent. Some of the best in NYC!
