"This is the loveliest organic orchard and cidery about two hours northwest of Seattle on the verdant Olympic Peninsula. They’ve been at the forefront of the cider revival and they make the most interesting flavors like black currant and habanero. They also have the friendliest staff that will lead you through tastings. It’s an absolutely stunning location to spend a long, lazy afternoon. -Madison Flager" - CNT Editors

"Located on a farm outside Port Townsend, the visitor's area here is a covered wooden structure with open walls, offering the best of being inside and out at the same time. With a pizza maker sliding pies into a wood-fired oven in one corner and a bluegrass band playing in the other, the cider is only part of the draw. But you should know that the sparkling stuff you're drinking comes from one of Washington's foremost cider makers." - Jenna Scatena, Allison Williams

Charming local farm offering ciders and brews. I visited primarily for the wood-fired pizza from a vendor called Dented Buoy, which was excellent—thin crust, flavorful, and noticeably better than places like Mod Pizza. Unfortunately, I didn’t stay long. The line for drinks was extremely long, and after eating, I was too thirsty to wait. There was live music, lots of kids, and a few young couples enjoying the scene. Be aware: there’s no heat, so it’s not ideal on cold or rainy days. More broadly, after many years of visiting the Port Townsend area, I’ve noticed a general decline in hospitality. Prices are up, food quality is average at best, and the overall vibe from locals feels a bit downbeat. As someone who enjoys cooking, I’ve largely given up on eating out in Western Washington. I can usually make something better at home for a fraction of the price.

We visited on holiday and it was worth the trek! We did the farm tour and had an amazing experience with our guide, a Nordic red haired man named cougar who was exactly the type of dude you would imagine working at a remote Washington cidery. He was knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed nerding out over sustainable agriculture as much as we do. The environment was lovely to spend the afternoon, and the food offerings are diverse. All were delicious aside from the pizza, which was only fine. We are so grateful to cougar and the whole team for creating such a memorable experience!

Beautiful view with good drink. Kitchen closed during the weekday, they allowed us to bring food from outside. There is no restaurant close by to buy the food, so make sure you get plan when coming on weekdays.

This place was like heaven when we showed up Saturday evening after a long drive with the kids, staying nearby. Live music, tasty cider, multiple food options all worth sampling. Best part was the kids could play with other kids on the little structure on the lawn and we could relax and enjoy a moment or two as the sunset. Everyone there seemed in a great mood and we closed the evening with a stroll around the orchard with world class scenery views. What an incredible place. We got the kiddos very cute matching t shirts and will remember this evening for a long time.

We were fortunate enough to have my dad’s celebration of life here this past weekend. Everything was perfect. We rented the barn, and everything, from Molly’s assistance coordinating the event, to Mahala’s assistance the day of, was great! Finnriver was one of my dad’s favorite places, and I understand why.

We bought tour + tasting tickets in advance and ended up almost ten minutes late. Felt embarrassed and awkward about that, but the bar/bottle room person made us feel completely welcome and walked us out to the group in the orchard. Cougar was our tour guide and did an amazing job -- certainly one of the best tours I've been on. The tour incorporated elements ranging from area history to fermentation science to apple varieties and permaculture to community ties and ingredients sourcing and traditional bottling techniques. Very informative, well-paced, and well-presented with a personable and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you, Cougar! It exceeded expectations. Later we had pizza and a cider slushie (not too sweet) and got a few bottles to take home. Yes, this place is not cheap, but it shouldn't be. They clearly care about the land, the people that are involved inside and outside the company and community, making top-notch creative craft cider, and it was a lovely afternoon. I'll be coming back with a few other friends to nerd out again soon about yeast and apples and northwest abundance :)

Great place to stop for some cider! They have a ton of great cider options ranging from dry to sweet and plenty of flavor variations. There is live music and other events some nights, so be sure to check the schedule. (Sometimes there is a cover charge.) There is food available from Finn River itself or a couple other food vendors (ramen, pizza, oysters, etc.) Check the day to see which of those are open. Plenty of seating, some inside, some outside, plus you can walk around the fields if you want some air. There is a dog friendly section, too. Really nice setup.
