11 LA Spots Where It’s OK To Get Kind Of Drunk Right Now

"The second this massive complex opened in Marina del Rey in 2016, it became the de facto spot for simultaneous craft beer drinking and sports watching on the Westside - a title Firestone Walker has yet to forego. There’s now a big tented outdoor patio, plus limited seating inside if you want to be closer to the TVs. They also brew right on site with their signature beers being rustic, unfiltered ales you won’t find anywhere else. When you need something to go with all the hops, there’s a wide-ranging menu filled with everything from tri-tip pizza to chicken tinga tacos." - brant cox

Where To Order Craft Beer For Delivery & Pick-Up In LA

"You can get Firestone Walker’s core beers at pretty much any grocery store, but you’ll have to go to their Venice location to see the full scope of what they produce. They’ve got tons of different options, from their Double Jack (one of the best double IPAs around, period), to all kinds of Barrelworks sours, saisons, and wild ales, all of which are perfect for this time of year. Order pick-up via their website, or delivery available via apps." - brett keating

Firestone Walker - The Propagator Review - Marina Del Rey - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The second this massive complex opened along Washington Blvd. in Marina del Rey, it became the de facto Westside spot for simultaneous craft beer drinking and sports watching. There’s a huge bar, a full-service area that takes reservations, and a separate first-come, first-serve section by the bar for when you didn’t plan ahead, but still want to eat some food. And they’ve begun brewing right on the premises, too. Their signatures are rustic, unfiltered ales you won’t find anywhere else. Getting a reservation for a big game wouldn’t be a terrible idea." - Brett Keating

Google
Firestone Walker Brewing Co. is a must-visit for beer lovers. They’ve got some really good brews—honestly, some of the best I’ve had in California. You’ll find their well-known staples on tap, but what really stands out are the limited releases brewed at The Propagator. Always something new and interesting to try. The space itself is great—plenty of room to hang out and enjoy a few drinks without feeling cramped. Bonus points for the gift shop, which is one of the better brewery shops I’ve seen. Lots of cool merch and take-home options. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

Amazing place! One of the best chicken sandwiches and smash burgers I’ve had in the LA area. You MUST check out the store as well for some of the coolest clothing / accessories. Grant in the storefront was so helpful finding sizes and recommending his favorites. Baxter was our server and made sure our lunch was perfect! Will definitely be back

Google
This place is beautiful and has both a great indoor and outdoor space. The beer is obviously amazing and some of the best you can get. I was pleasantly surprised about how deliscious the food was as well. Love this place

Firestone Brewery in LA is the ultimate chill spot—huge patio, tons of seating, and a killer lineup of drinks and food. The vibe is on point, perfect for catching up with the girls and soaking in the atmosphere. A must for laid-back hangs. Pictured here are the garlic parmesan fries and Cali Squeeze Dragon Fruit Honey Dew Seltzer.

Google
Loved it here! Huge outdoor space with tons of picnic table seating and umbrellas, huge indoor space with plenty of seating. TVs inside and outside playing sports. I drank the Hazy IPA and thought it was great.

Google
Fantastic, kid-friendly brewery! Fantastic drinks and delicious food with a wide array of options! Had a large group with kids and had plenty of room. Fast service and very tasty food (see pics). Got fish and chips, fish tacos, and a kids Mac and cheese. Friends got a salad with shrimp and schnitzel sandwich. All delicious and so tasty with fresh and delicious beer.

Google
Firestone Walker is located at a convenient location, and parking can be found in the back. There's a scooter hub out in front. The Brewmaster is the Chef's take on a Margherita Pizza. It's still neopolitan style, with a nice thin crust with slight char in certain areas. The tomato sauce is balanced, not taking too much attention from the stars: the cheese and the toppings. Thyme and basil are both used to compliment the smoky flavors of the tomatoes. The smoked flavor is what makes this pizza special.

Google
Great food, great selection of beers. The Nitro Velvet Merkin and Parabola stout were a great discovery. Great service too.

Yelp
Ambiance: the Venice taproom presents a gastropub feel with a menu geared for draft beer, and it has spacious outdoor patio seating and indoor regular tables, good for events and large group hangout, the table wasn't cleaned well and restroom was out of paper and messy Service: generally friendly although a bit forgetful, had to remind to get water, food was served fairly fast after the drinks Food & Drink: classic bar restaurant food, and numerous choices for fresh beer brewed here and from other locations 805 CERVEZA FISH TACOS - **** 3 "Baja style" 805 Cerveza-battered and fried, jalapeño slaw, chipotle crema, green onion, served with chips and salsa, the fish itself was great, tortillas were seated outside too long and tasted very dry, still recommend BEAR BURGER - **** Angus beef patty, sharp cheddar, smoked tomatoes, caramelized onion, iceberg lettuce, rosemary aioli, sesame seed potato bun, served with bear skinny fries, patty was cooked perfectly medium, very mouthful bite, recommend TO WIT - **** Belgian-Style Witbier, the Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with curaçau orange peel and coriander for a citrusy and lightly spicy profile, a grain bill including Belgian pilsner malt, wheat malt, and flaked oats provides a hazy appearance and silky texture, fruity taste, recommend HOP TO GO! - *** Hazy Pale Ale, the glowing golden pale ale is brewed with wheat and oats for a silky texture and hopped with copious amounts of citra hops for a mélange of Dole Whip-like tropical and citrus fruit flavors, bold taste MADE FOR THIS - *** West Coast IPA, Single-malt IPA brewed with 100% Gambrinus IPA Malt and a combination of Elani, Citra, and Idaho seven hops for a mix of pineapple, mango, and orange aromatics with a clean, crisp finish WAKING THE FALLEN - **** Steam Beer, classic Californian beer style with Admiral Malt from the Bay Area and Willamette hops from Goschie Farms in Oregon, copper hued with a nice balance of toasty malt and floral hops, then fermented warm with the house lager yeast for that unique stream beer profile, easy to drink, recommend CALI SQUEEZE RASPBERRY LIME - ** Wheat Ale, a freshly squeezed addition to the Cali Squeeze arsenal, Raspberry Lime combines berry notes with a hint of zesty lime and a spritzy soda-like finish, weird taste Price: generous portions for food and decent for drinks, and expect $35 per person

Yelp
I love the whole Firestone brand. My partner and I have been to their Invitational Beer Festival several times, along with their main taproom/merch store. The first time we visited this location, the energy of all the staff was on point. We had a great time....so when my partner suggested we go up for their Oktoberfest, sure...let's go! I stayed dry this visit, so I'm not commenting on their beers. However, let it be known...anything I've had from Firestone has been amazing. Their pretzel and merlin mustard is delicious. I wish they bottled the mustard and sold it. So why the 3 stars for The Propagator? All the service staff (minus one person) needed a few BIG shots of espresso to get going. It was definitely a weird service vibe considering their Oktoberfest advertisements- block part, music, beer competitions, etc. I'm sure I'll be back because my partner loves Firestone...hopefully our next visit will be better.

Yelp
Really cool and fun place I like that it's big, you can sit outside or inside or at the bar. Good staff. Great selection of beers The bear hamburger was amazing (bummer it took the food too much time to get to the table) Worth a visit *Definitely should not play Tylor Swift at a brewery in Venice
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend and I come here quite often. I don't drink beer but I love the food and he loves both the beer and the food. We always sit on the outside patio area because it's so nice, spacious and inviting. We sometimes bring our dogs along because it's so spacious. He loves the fish tacos and I love the burrito bowl. This is one of our hidden gems that we frequently visit! It would be nice if they had TVs outside to watch the games but I think they're all indoors if I'm not mistaken. We love Firestone Walker!

Yelp
Hadn't been back to Firestone in many years, but they seem to have improved things since they opened. Was impressed with the premises and the nice open outdoor space. Food and drink was solid too, however, service could have been a bit more attentive. Will give it another go sooner than last time.

Yelp
I loved having a board game day here. Met up with friends and got a great circular booth inside. The drinks and food were great and our server were attentive for the 6 hours we sat here and enjoyed Flux, Ticket to Ride, and Arkham Horror. I tried the seltzers and had the blood orange and the watermelon. Everyone ordered the pizzas, but I had the pretzel and brownie. This is a perfect meeting spot for groups that want to hang out for a while. They didn't mind us gaming and the day flew by. I would definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Firestone is an awesome brewery & a great place to spend a beautiful Saturday or Sunday in the Venice/Marina area! There are so many great beer options on draft, as well as a decent food menu with delicious pizza options. It does get really busy there on the weekends, so sometimes you have to wait for an outdoor table - but you can hang out at the bar inside while you wait and you'll typically be seated fairly quick! The service is great - food/drinks seem to come out quickly & the ordering process is simple through QR code. The outside patio is dog friendly as well! Overall Firestone is a fantastic local place for families, large friend groups, and anything in between. *Parking is the only downside - there is parking on Washington and the side streets but on busy beach days you may have to look for a bit for an open spot, so plan accordingly!

Yelp
Me and the hubby came on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite and some thing to drink before heading to the beach. Thankfully We were able to find a parking spot in the back quickly since someone was pulling out. We were greeted quickly and given menus and utensils and told it was open seating and chose to sit inside( much quieter) but outside had the beautiful sun out. WE loved the playlist so shout to whoever came up with it! ( a mix of hip hop and pop ) The hubby ordered the Mind haze (Hazy IPA) ($8.25) and the bear burger and garlic fries ($20) to eat. And I got the Special- A pastrami sandwich with havarti cheese, and a side of regular fries($21). I really couldn't decide on a drink since I'm not much of a beer drinker and got a flight of (5)3oz pours instead($15.75). I got the 805, cinnamon dulce stout, Framboise, Capt Franc, and the blood orange beer. They were all pretty good. My two favorites were the Capt franc, since it reminded me of a wine and beer mixed together, and the cinnamon dulce nitro stout. Our waiter was very friendly and kept checking up on us often.

Yelp
4++ I am and have been a big fan of Firestone Walker beers for years. And over the years, they have made a lot of different styles really well, with my favorites leaning towards the darker beers (I drank a lot of Parabola specifically). This location specifically always has a good variety on hand and you can order smaller pours to create a flight. The service - from the beertenders and the folks bringing out your food/ beer have always been friendly. The space itself is pretty large. It kinda serves as a brewery and restaurant all under the same roof. After the pandemic, they have the space between the restaurant and the retail store that functions like a beer garden so there's outdoor seating and so it's also dog friendly. The vibe is always pretty chill here. I've met up with friends, coworkers, and took a dog here. Always a good time. As for the food, I think I've had the fish and chips here, which I thought was very good. Other than that, I've usually gotten desserts here and I was here for a one off pairing event (with a unique menu) and enjoyed the meal very much. Also, just a note: among my hardcore beer friends, the consensus is that their beer festival - The Firestone Walker Invitational - has the best food of any beer festival. I haven't been to that festival yet, (someday...) it's also located closer to their original location in the central coast/ Paso Robles area. Just thought that should at least be worth noting. Getting here can be a little stressful. Super busy streets in the area. There's a lot out back with a good amount of parking, but it seems to always be near capacity. The left turn to get back there can be pretty stressful, because there's so much opposite traffic and people usually block even when there's a red light. If the lot is full and you don't mind walking, there's possibly parking a few blocks away in the residential area. Just pay attention to the signs.

Yelp
I have been a fan for many years of Firestone Walker beers, starting with the Pale 31 pale ale. It then became California Pale ale. Now this one is unheard of and since dropped off the map. It's ok because I do still like the many styles they brew overall including their barrel aged beers periodically. The well-known Parabola and the Anniversary ales are typically extremely boozy and sweet but great for sipping with complex flavors. Their staple Union Jack IPA has been a fave for me for awhile, so long that it went from 7.5% to 7.0%. Do you remember?? I'll never forget. Mind Haze seems popular now, but unfortunately lately I'm burnt out on all hazys. They normally show up at some of the local beer festivals with some limited releases- including a brett barrel aged one that I loved so much I got back in line for it several times until guilt and slight dizziness finally took over.. This location is close to the Venice area of LA and the only one I can possibly reach in a couple hours time. I wish there was one in the San Diego area or OC. I try to coordinate a visit here anytime I'm up here in the area. It has been worth it. Not just cuz I'm a beer lover, the food is pretty good grind too! I haven't tried a ton of menu items, but they have been on point. Get that huge pretzel. Down to also try the burgers that everyone raves about. There's a store kinda attached to the place that has all the merch you need or want. Quality made stuff. Nicely designed store. I do own a couple shirts I bought from here. Worth a stop for beer or the bar grub I'd say, and I'll hopefully(I know I will)be back for both soon.

Yelp
Nice brewery, we only had a drink here, though the food menu looked good, if we only hadn't just eaten , I would have rather eaten here. Sat outside in the shade under an umbrella on the patio. Good beers. Had it's own parking lot.

Yelp
Yelp Review: Went to Firestone Walker Brewing Company for trivia night yesterday and it had a lively crowd. With fun questions, a hype host and solid outdoor seating it was a nice environment. The staff was really friendly as well. The only downside was that the benches for outside seating weren't the most stable and could easily tumble if a customer isn't too careful. Ordered the chicken schnitzel and a basket of fries. The chicken was fried perfectly with nice crisp edges and full of flavor that it was a delight to eat by itself, although I added hot sauce to give it a little kick.(4.5/5) The fries were what you'd expect from galic parmesean fries, not too flashy but done pretty well. (3.5/5) Had a biere de mars and it just tasted like a normal beer with a tinge of lemon to me. I'm not a fan of beer personally and rating it wouldn't be fair in my opinion. I finished the night with their arnold palmer. I think the lemonade aspect of the drink could have been a tinge better but it was a solid drink. (4/5)

Yelp
Good brewery in marina del Rey. Plenty of good beer on tap. Plenty of outdoor seating. The food was pretty good. Tacos and sauce were on point. Brussel sprouts were a little softer than I'd like.

Yelp
Greats sports dinning place! Came here to watch the playoff football game. We came with no reservations on the Sunday of 49ers play off & it was BUSY! There were only two of us so we were seated fairly quickly, but had okay seating near the TV's. There's lot of TV's that are big & there's enough screens Now for the food! Taproom Wings Classic Buffalo - 8 Piece 10/10: they ran out of flat wings & I only got drum. Honestly I didn't mind and the sauce was yummy & wings were cooked well! Loved the spicy aïoli sauce!! Garlic fries 8/10: could have had more seasoning. The fries had lots of potatoes & had fresh garlic Tri-Tip Sando 8/10: great sandwich! Not too messy or too soggy. It was tasty Overall, great place to grab a bite to eat & watch a game!

Yelp
I love coming here during visits to Southern California. This location has a large outdoor area and indoor restaurant. Beer selection is fantastic. There is a gift shop. The parking lot was full, and the business was well attended, during our visit on a Sunday. Patrons were diverse, including children and dogs. I enjoyed a flight of five different beers, with my favorite being the ParAmburana (2024), an imperial stout. The bartender provided us with friendly and attentive service.

Yelp
As a Venice local, Firestone is the go-to spot for many in the neighborhood because it never fails to impress. I always take my friends and family here because it has such a large array of drinks and food for everyone. Whether you're in the mood for a craft beer or a delicious meal, Firestone has something to satisfy every craving. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy good company. The staff is always friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience every time. Parking can be tricky on busy weekends, but if you're patient, a spot will open up. If not, there's plenty of neighborhood parking around. It's worth the effort for such a great local hangout!
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
Service was good until front host referred us to Andrew bartender to help us fill a growler. Not the service I expect from a year's fan of Firestone Brewery. Not sure why I have to sit at the bar to fill a growler container when I have my toddler in wait. Hostess needs to be replaced.
google avatar

Yelp
Ah man the food and drinks here is absolutely delicious. For beers I got the Cali squeeze extra lemon chill 9% beer. So refreshing. I got a saison as a sample at 12%. I liked the beer so much I got a 12 pack for $44. I didn't realize at the time I bought a 12 pack of 19.2oz lol. It was worth it and I'll probably go get more. For food the ahi wonton tacos was fabulous, but not overly filling. If you're really hungry you'll want something more like maybe their burgers. We also tried the blueberry streusel which was very sweet. I loved it, but one of my friends that ordered it found it too sweet. We all liked the fact you can order individual checks on their app. They don't bring silverware nor napkins though so expect to fetch your own.

Yelp
This place js nothing short of a good time. Large space for big gatherings. Wide variety of drinks. Menu options for food and assortment of typical finger foods and burgers. What is great is that they have cups and endless water free flowing. This is convenient. No one likes to wait on a person for water refills. Definitely helps too to keep hydrated. I ordered lemonade and it tasted like it was from a soda machine. I don think there is refills on this so this was a disappointment. Happy they didn't add extra service charge either. Parking is limited. Understand that they do regulate parking in the nearby neighborhoods but parking away from restaurant a few blocks, you will find plenty of curbside space without signs regulating times to park. Bathrooms are super clean.

Yelp
What a cool place to gather with friends! I came for a friend's birthday and we had kids and adults of all ages and a few pups with us and we sat on the outside patio at like 3 different tables but we all still felt together, not separate. The ordering was super easy on phones and the food comes out quickly and is fantastic! I had the brussel sprouts (always) and they were the right amount of crisp with sauce. I also ordered a portobello mushroom burger with fries and it was amazing! I wish it was a teensy bit thicker to offset the bun, but totally understand they shrink when cooking. I can't remember the name of the beer I had but it had Czech in the name and was somewhere in the red/light brown range and super tasty - I had 2, which I hardly ever do. Great place to come with an office as well for happy hour!
google avatar

Yelp
Everytime I go to Firestone I hope I get seated in Rosa's section. Never had such an attentive, friendly and joyous server before. Rosa is such a star. Will keep coming for the great beer selection and amazing service.
google avatar

Addy K.

Yelp
I'm not a huge beer drinker, but this place offered 3 oz tastings you can mix and match so you could sample multiple drinks vs ordering a 8/10 oz (in case you're not into it). The pizza and pretzel helped as a base for all the flights ordered. There's a parking lot behind the brewery and street parking. There's also indoor and outdoor seating. There was a live music/singer (on Saturday), not sure if it's daily or weekends only but nice addition to the atmosphere
google avatar

Yelp
Firestone Walker Brewing company is a great location if you are looking for an awesome vibe, good food and good drinks. Came here today with a large party and everything was flawless. We were immediately sat and was able to enjoy the great atmosphere. The hostess's were super nice and gave awesome recommendations. The atmosphere here is so laid back and fun. There's multiple tables and for entertainment, you can play large Jenga or large tik tac toe. There was even a live band tonight playing awesome music. Ordering is made easy with the QR codes on the table, especially with our large party. The food and drinks selections are pretty awesome with a large selection of different beer types and wines. I ended up getting a sour with a smash burger which was delicious and plentiful! We had such a fun time and we definitely plan on coming back. Would highly recommend for any occasion!

Yelp
Been here two times now for food and drinks with friends and really enjoyed my experience. The reason for one star off is that I think their prices are a bit high for their food and drinks and the service is mediocre, as they only deliver the food but don't often check in with you to see if you need anything. Despite these things though I really like the place. It's big and accommodates well for walking in. It's always loud and busy and the parking lot is never empty...another potential downside as there's never parking. But the option for drinks (wine and beer) is pretty decent and I liked most everything I've tried. I really like their food, the pretzel and pizzas were great, but the prices are unreasonably high for the style of restaurant. The fries are good but the aioli that comes with them isn't the best. We had wanted to ask for ranch and never got the chance as the waiters never came back to our table. The bbq chicken pizza was a hit and had good flavor. I like their Chardonnay they had, but again, the price was high comparably to other casual sit down restaurants. It's a cool joint and fun to take friends as you can easily order on your phone. However the prices are high for what the restaurant/brewery is, and the parking lot is terrible. However it's a cool place to get drinks and food with friends.

Yelp
Man, oh man. Now I've had some burgers and brews in my day! HOLD UP! This was seriously one of the best dining experiences I've had in years. My wife and I STILL can't stop talking about the burgers we had. First off, I was overly taken care of by the staff. Manager Patrick checked in with me a couple times, as I borderline cried about how good my burger was. I had the special this month. Chile Relleño smash burger. Yes. A whole chile filled with gooey mozzarella on a smash burger. It was book worthy. My wife had the 895 smash burger, and for a woman who never cleans the plate, she almost licked it. Spoiled with beer samples and recommendations, we tried flights, pints, the new Watermelon Seltzer, all top notch. Firestone Walker is KNOWN for being one of the best breweries in Southern California, and they. Don't. Play. Big tip of the hat to my man Eddie for helping me out when the beer options were too many. He pulled a Hazy ipa for me and I was in for seconds. It's a beautiful place! There's kids and families playing yard games outside on a nice sunny day in like a semi, tropical so-cal courtyard. Heck, even the lady in the retail store was incredibly informative helpful and kind. This place is perfect. I got lost in the bathroom hallway looking at the brewers hall. I'm in love. Go there. Now!

Yelp
One of our favorite breweries in LA (and since it's very busy on the weekends, alot of other folks agree!). They've expanded their patio (it's HUGE) and I love the new, longer tables w/ bench seating. Inside area also very big --- but we come with our dog so we sit outside. It can get warm out there -- so get here early and grab a table under an umbrella or under the black semi see through tarps. I love ordering via the app where you press a button and the food/beer appears in no time. They do have menus for the old fashioned way of ordering. Love their smash burgers, salads, hot chicken sandwich, and the best $14.00 pretzel in town w/ two sauces. Favorite beer is the Cali Squeeze Blood Orange on tap. They have a bunch of other flavors from Cali Squeeze (which Firestone bought by the way) in cans. Good service and friendly wait staff too. LOTS OF DOGGIES so only bring friendly ones!

Yelp
From Beginning to End... The Food, The Service, The Ambiance... was So On Point! Definitely coming back

Yelp
The beer was great, I got a flight to try several different kinds and liked them all. The service was quick, we ordered at the bar and brought it back to our seats. There was a musician outside playing and indoor had TVs everywhere. It was a good time and a nice place to chill.
google avatar

Yelp
Came for some beers and bar food and it was good! We got some wings which were number one for me, kids chicken tenders which we could have passed on and the fish n chips which tied with the wings. Service was pretty fast but you could also scan the QR code and order yourself. Space is super big with bar seating, indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Our go to weekend spot, for good drinks, food, games and play-dates. Extensive beer and drinks menu, nice and cold. Brought out as soon as you order! The menus are now printed out, but you pay and order online. Once you've ordered the food comes out pretty quick as well. The main "service" you get is when your orders are brought to the table, or if you flag someone down for some condiments or extra utensils. Today our server was Shondra, and she was actually much more attentive then all the other times we've gone in, so cheers to her! They've got indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor seating is a hot commodity on the weekends, as are the umbrellas. So if you see an open spot, grab it, or someone else definitely will! Loads of beer garden games for kids and adults to play, and fun ambiance with plenty of entertainment and a chill vibe for everyone. All in all a great spot for everyone! Here's to consistency Yelpers, bringing us back for more on the regular. Cheers xx

Yelp
It was fine. They don't make the homemade tots anymore and nothing we ordered was memorable. Nice outdoor seating. Pretty dry service.

We drove by this place a few weeks ago, I decided to bookmark it so we could try it next time we were in the area. Well today we happened to be in the area so we decided to stop by. Parking was in the back, we walked in to see the host. We were asked whether we wanted to eat indoors or outdoors. We opted for indoors and were seated right away. It was nice and cool with many tvs showing different games on. We had the option to order through a QR code or with a server. We ordered through the QR code. Ordering was a breeze. We paid the tab right away and waited for our food. Now to the food, we ordered a the 805 smash burger, buffalo wings, the hot chicken sandwich, bear cub burger, garlic parm fries and the classic flight. Everything came out quick. The food was delicious! I won't say we are burger and wing snobs but we've tried quite a few and the burgers and wings here were one of the best we've had. The chicken sandwich was delicious as well. One of the servers ( a lady) I can't remember her name but she was wearing a hat, had colored hair and piercings came to check in on us quite a few times. Another gentleman would also check on us constantly. At the end we had to let the lady know that whoever was in the kitchen did a great job with our order. She told us it was a woman handling the food (shout out to her). In the end, it was a unanimous decision that this will be one of the spots we will go to again.

Yelp
This brewery have not only great beer but the food is great. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You can seat outside on the patio or inside and you will get the same great service. The ambient is great.

Yelp
For Stanley Cup Finals we picked this place to go and watch the games. Patrick is the manager and he came by and put the game on and got us some sound. You can't watch hockey without sound. It's just not right. Choosing the beer seems to need a lot of knowledge, so when Lina our smiling waiter came by the table, I asked her to just pick me a tray of her favorites of the 5 sampler beer. And she did fantastic. That day and on each following visit. You know a friendly, competent and knowledgable staff member can just make you want to be back. And back we went, we tried many different food and strangely enough, food is amazing, not just good enough for a brewery, but actually good. Both indoor and large outdoor is a great hangout place for large groups, or just a date night, food is good, you get to try out interesting beers and have fun. We watched game 4, 5 and 6 of the finals there and each game our team, Oilers won against all odds. We made plans on going back for game 7, and Lina said that would be her day off. We figured we'll watch the game at home, and we saw our team lose the cup. Who do you think would be responsible for their loss? :) A place I will certainly go back to.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times with friends. I'm not a huge beer person but all my friends seem to love it! The service seems to be fine with QR code scanning and ordering. Every time I've ordered it's been fast. They seem to be on it. I've had the French fries the times I've done and they are so good. The truffle ones are a must. I can imagine the outside patio in the summer is THE place to be. Outside does have heaters but not a lot. So during the colder winter months, keep your eyes open if you don't have one.

Yelp
Thank you, Llajayra and Anthony! I enjoyed myself with the staff, food, and atmosphere. Also, I was able to find a decent sour beer, 3 in fact. I will be coming back.

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and vibes! We came here on a Sunday evening for dinner. We were able to find seating immediately in the patio area. The environment is very chill with a patio and games, and people sitting with lights above. I liked it a lot. Ordering is easy - scan the QR and order/ pay directly from your phone. Then, the waiters will deliver your drinks and food. If you wanted to, you could go into the bar to order as well but most people just sit and order. It's very efficient and fast. In terms of food, the smash burger was delicious. Great flavors and perfectly balanced. I got the lion fries to go with it which complimented it well. I didn't try the other dishes that my friends got, but they all seemed pretty pleased. In terms of drinks, we enjoyed all of the fruit heffs, but also really like the campfire stout that had hints of chocolate and marshmallows. Overall, a great find and would love to come back sometime soon.

Yelp
The Service Sucks, they have little to no service. Someone took our order and we never seen him again. Someone else brought our order never saying anything. I could not order another beer because we couldn't find anyone to take the order. When we finished eating I had to go to the bar to pay my bill. What ever happened to SERVICE. There is none here. Only good thing is the beer. But that's not enough to make me return

Yelp
Great patio space. I'm not a huge fan of beer but even I liked what I got and the fries were yummy.

Yelp
The inside of the The restaurant is quite spacious. Because of Covid they took over a section of their parking lot and created outdoor dining which is still there. There is a small building next to the parking lot where you can buy their beer via cans or bottles. The beer is really good and you can try anything you would like. They also have flights. The food is standard pub grub. To me it's just OK. When they first opened, it was much better and somehow it changed. I spoke with one of the owners about it. You won't be disappointed if you stop in for a beer and a bite. Since they now have outdoor dining in the previous parking area be warned that parking lot is small and tight. There is some neighborhood street parking and you can walk over.

Yelp
It's a nice place to have some beers on the patio. Their food is tasty and I like the convenience of ordering using the QR code. Because it's so close to the beach, it might be pretty cloudy and chillier to be out on the patio. Since it's a patio, dogs are expected to be around. But sometimes people get little overboard and you might have dogs yapping or being in general a little nuisance

Yelp
Someone at Yelp sent a pearl-clutching e-mail notifying me that my recent review of Firestone Walker's The Propagator was such a piece of monstrous opprobrium that "reinforces stereotypes, makes light of physical or sexual violence, or otherwise includes unnecessarily graphic or offensive description" that both it and the review that was up for over four years must be deleted from Yelp lest it traumatize the tender eyes of innocent readers. Translation: The business owners were offended at a poor review and used some flimsy excuse to have it deleted. So I will try to use as much politesse as possible to describe why The Propagator will never be getting my business again: Last Saturday evening, after making a long and not inexpensive trip all the way across Los Angeles, I arrived to find The Propagator's taproom closed for seven hours -- from 3 P.M. to 10 P.M. -- on a Saturday, on a weekend for a thirteen-year-old's birthday party. That's right: A beer bar was closed to cater to an event for underaged minors. Even the staff at Firestone Walker's store was nonplussed at the decision to do this. Anyone not part of the private party was forced onto the patio area out front, which is basically an open expanse of concrete and picnic tables and little in the way of comfort, atmosphere, or charm. What it did have in spades was 1) noise from the live band playing poor cover versions of Sublime songs, and 2) loud, rambunctious toddlers running amok in every direction with almost no supervision from their tippling parents. (Am I reinforcing stereotypes of parents who bring their preschool-age children to bars? Is this an unnecessarily graphic or offensive description of children who run around unsupervised while their parents drink at bars?) The wait time for even a solo drinker -- someone who could have easily been accommodated at the bar that was sitting empty in the taproom, like about half of the tables and booths inside -- was insanely long, not that I wanted to be crammed into the chaotic atmosphere of the concrete jungle on The Propagator's patio. For a beer bar to close its taproom on its busiest time of the week is bad enough. For a venue that is, for all intents and purposes, a bar to book itself for what is essentially a children's party at that time, that defies all logic. Firestone Walker's management believed it was more important to rent out The Propagator as a high-end Chuck E. Cheese than to serve fans of their beers. I can't imagine a better way for The Propagator to tell their customers that they don't care about their business than to take that course of action -- and I, for one, got the message, loud and clear. Not only will I be staying away from The Propagator, but I won't be drinking Firestone Walker in the future. (That's a shame because I just finished a case of Double Barrel Ale, one of my favorite beers of all time.) Hopefully no one at Yelp HQ got the vapors this time...

Yelp
The Propagator offers an amazing menu of rotating experimental beers in addition to FWBC's core beers. The food is top-notch and the retail store has awesome to-go beer options. I bought a half-keg for an event for a very reasonable price. The deposits for the keg itself and the keg tap were refunded upon return.

Yelp
Husband and I were in the mood for some beer and Good food after a 5k we had just finished and came here. Parking wasn't too bad we weren't able to find parking in their lot but just down the street and didn't mind it at all. As we walked in they were having an outside event with live music and the atmosphere was great! We ate inside and the server helps us pretty quick. We got the 805 smash burger with skinny fries & The Lions Fish & chips. Both were very good dipping sauce we were great! We got a flight so we can enjoy different beers as well safe to say we finished all of them (love how they give you a little paper on which ones you are tasting in order) overall experience was great, it's a big space inside there is a bar area to just grab a beer and TV's all around if you wanted to catch a game. Servers were great and attentive as you enter and cool vibes for sure. When you exit they have a cool shop so you can purchase merch and have fun T-shirts and other fun stuff and to go beers. They had a corn hole as well and water stations throughout the outside of you wanted to grab water. Cant wait to be back!

Yelp
We're out in Venice Beach watching an EPIC sunset yet something strange happens in the outlying areas not immediately adjacent to the beach: EVERYWHERE seems to close down shop and pack it in for the evening! DAFUQ? I thought we were in LA? Don't fret folks, here comes FIRESTONE WALKER BREWING to the RESCUE! Entire place was JUMPING! We were seated next to the kitchen and as I peered over I saw the most MASSIVELY BEAUTIFUL chicken sandwiches you could possibly dream of. What peaked my interest was the FACT that every single one of those sandwiches were massively PERFECT. It wasn't like one sandwich was dinky, small, and meager, while the next was slightly bigger, they were ALL MAMMOTH! I knew I would regret it if I didn't order it. Don't get me wrong, everything they were putting up to serve customers were straight up magazine worthy, Instagram worthy FOOD PORN, but I fell in love with that chicken sandwich before I even tasted it. Now to the taste test: I had a straight up ORGASM once I had the first bite! I mean everything was perfect: the pounded out chicken thigh bun to chicken ratio, the cooking technique, the seasonings, and possibly brine, the slaw was moist, fresh, and crispy....like HOLY SHIT! I also ordered garlic Parmesan steak fries and they must've put NARNIA magic in em because they were piping hot, crispy, and fresh the ENTIRE Time I ate my meal. They must've used a special bag to keep em that fresh and hot but they were AMAZING! The misses called herself keeping it light by just ordering Chicken tortilla soup which looked good as well, but she's kicking herself to this day by not shifting a rib and finding a way to pack in a chicken Sammy or something else more substantial off their menu. Also the chefs were back there KICKING MAJOR ASS. They were laser focused, no shooting the shit, and churning out culinary MASTERPIECES! Now on to the drinks: These brews are tasty, knock you on your ass thirst quenchers that pair surprisingly well with your entree. Customer service was wonderful as well! HANDS DOWN THIS WAS MY BEST MEAL on this west coast trip. Next time I'm out there and near Venice Beach you best believe we'll be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Came here to watch the game but so did everyone else haha. Burgers smacked -- large portion for the adult sized burger as it comes with 2 patties. Love that you can choose skinny or thick (lion) fries. Beer on rotating tap were the best I've had on the west side. I appreciate that you can order 3 ounce or 10/11 ounces of beer because personally I can never drink too much beer but always want to try different crafts. They also offer flights for those wanting to sample a few beers. Lastly, looooove that multiple guests can scan the QR code and order on individual tabs. Makes dining with friends so much easier!! TLDR: Food 9/10 Alcohol 10/10 Service 8/10 Ambiance 10/10 Variety 10/10 Ease of payment (separate checks) 10/10
