The Best Seafood in Portland

"On the ground floor of an apartment building on the Portland State University campus, Fish-San offers pocket symphonies of texture and flavor in its poke and don bowls served in a bright, minimally adorned dining room. The seafood is fresh and presented in colorful bowl settings, and each entree comes with hot miso soup. While the bulk of the clientele is typically university students and staff, it’s worth a lunch wander from downtown offices or tourist spots. Keep an eye out for more interesting seasonal fish options like saba. Drinks are limited to a handful of bottled soft drinks and hot and cold teas." - Nathan Williams, Jenni Moore

20 Knockout Sushi Restaurants in Portland and Beyond

"On the Portland State University campus, diners sit down to pairs of aburi (seared) nigiri, including bruleed tamago, or carry out creations like the Hamachizilla, which includes yellowtail both inside and on top of the roll. Fish lovers are catered to with the variety of a 10-piece nigiri set or chirashi. For special occasions — or a treat-yourself dinner — visitors can order custom platters of artfully arranged sashimi with advance notice of a day ahead." - Seiji Nanbu, Janey Wong

Google
Came here a while ago and almost forgot to write a review. Read about them and wanted to give their bowls a try. Portions are generous and the place is nice and clean. Very delicious lunch and very reasonably priced as well. Would definitely be back although, as of 11/11/24, Google said it's temporarily closed. Hopefully, that's just a short break.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fish-San, and I can confidently say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable culinary journey. The sushi and sashimi were nothing short of perfection, with each bite revealing a harmonious combination of textures and tastes. The fish was incredibly fresh and melted in my mouth, while the rice was delicately seasoned and expertly prepared. In conclusion, Fish-San exceeded all my expectations. The combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance created a dining experience that will stay with me for a long time. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a curious food lover, Fish-San is a must-visit destination for a culinary adventure that will leave your taste buds tingling with delight.

Second visit. I was disappointed. I ordered the salmon roll. The seaweed was chewy, rice hard, and the salmon was flavorless. Consistency, is important, especially competing with the market on Saturday and Sunday. I will give this place another try before lowering my rating. What a surprise to find this place. I only say surprise because they do not have a sign to advertise. Anyway, I ordered a spicy Tuna Poke bowl. The presentation was amazing, something new and fresh. I love you get a little packed of chopsticks, a fork, toothpick and a napkin. The quality of the food was delicious. Right away, the freshness of the Tuna is the first smell that hit your senses. I could do with fewer onions in the spicy mayo. Rice was on point I highly recommend checking this spot out. Prices are comparable and reasonable.

Finally tried out Fish San(located in PSU area) I came here with some friends, so we ordered items to share. The poke bowls(unagi eel and salmon were both good and flavorful). I personally don't eat a lot of rice, so I got a 9 piece sashimi combo of hamachi, tuna, and salmon. The pieces were fresh and thick. I really enjoyed the hamachi. We tried a few rolls, including the Strawberry Lemonade roll, where we were told to eat the piece with the lemon slice together. It was a neat citrusy taste. My favorite of this entire meal has to be the scallop sashimi! Its so fresh and tastes so smooth, just dip it in some wasabi/soysauce. Highly recommend! There are some tables, so we dined in.

Google
Super cute place that hidden in PSU campus😍😍! I wish this place existed when I went to PSU 10 years ago 😂. I went in with friends and we ordered various dishes to try ( unagi bowl, poke bowl, sashimi plate, sushi rolls,…) We all agreed that all the food tastes really fresh, crafted with great care, and great presentation. The sashimi was OH SO FRESH and DELISH 👏👏👏😍 (this is weird to say but their soy sauce has great flavor too). I added seaweed, krab salad, and avocado to my unagi bowl and it was yummmmm🤤. Couldn’t finish my bowl so the owner was gladly packed it up for me to go. We all left feeling satisfied and full, and I also have a super cute reusable to go bag to bring home ☺️.

Google
First of all, wow! Best poke bowls I’ve ever had. My friend and I came here and ordered the Tomyum Salmon Poke and the Aburi Salmon Don, along with some baked mussels. The fish is so fresh and they even give you free miso soup with every bowl and a little utensil bag with a hand towel and toothpick. I also recommend the onigiri (perfect snack). I’ll definitely be back soon!

Rachel Travis

Google
Really good poke! + really good portion size. Couldn’t even finish my bowl. I got the salmon don & added an egg. I wish the egg was warm but that’s poke for you. Everything was so fresh, miso soup was really good. On the pricier side my total was $18.75 (without tip) $20~something with. Good treat yourself place if you love sushi. Service was great too. Small parking lot available. 5 stars

Google
I ordered the unagi don for delivery. The order arrived in a nice reusable tote that I will be using to take lunch to work. The fish was moist and hot. The sauce was sticky and sweet and very umami. What stuck out for me though was the rice. For many places the rice is an after thought. The rice used here is so well done! Plump and round kernels of rice. They stuck together to make eating easy. Not too dry. Not over cooked and mushy. It definitely shows that they care about the details and quality of each ingredient put into their food. I can't wait to try more of their other items. On top of that, I had a note for no sesame seed on top. They called to confirm I didn't have a sesame allergy. I appreciated the concern and extra effort.

Yelp
This is the perfect stop for a quick and delicious lunch! Everything was so fresh and well seasoned. The staff are so friendly and attentive - they gave me such great recommendations. The store is also decorated so cutesy and has a very bright & welcoming feels.
google avatar

Deb K.

Yelp
Came here because their ratings were so high. Truthfully I'd give them five stars too except for a college town restaurant, their prices are kind of high. Food is good and fresh, portions are decent, however, menu is limited and pricey for lunch. Two meals and drinks were $45 plus tip. Poke and Don bowls looked pretty much the same to us. You do get free miso soup though Update: as we were about to leave I downgraded this to three stars after watching a staff member wearing their food prep gloves to do other things including grabbing something from the back storage and then sweeping. I really hope they didn't make food with those now soiled food prep gloves on! Disappointing to see this!

Brittani C.

Yelp
Ordered: -Sweet shoyu salmon bowl -Tuna aburi don Pro: -We really enjoyed the salmon sweet shoyu bowl! It was fresh, not overly seasoned, had quality nori, and the rice was done right (many places seem to make it mushy) -Staff was welcoming and very attentive -Clean and welcoming inside -Utensils come with wet wipes & dental floss! So thoughtful!! So Japanese!! Con: -We weren't a fan of the aburi don because the tuna became firm and dry after being seared -Limited parking on street
google avatar

Andrew A.

Yelp
Finally got to try and was satisfied. The Tuna-Salmon Don was fresh and filling, and the miso soup a decent version. Price points are high for lunch, but not for seafood. Areas of Improvement: - no hot sauce, even Sriracha or Togarashi would be better than nothing. - too many gnats buzzing around, it doesn't need to be this way. - interior seating area was kinda cold. Staff was pleasant.
google avatar

Lindsey S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Located right on PSU campus, I'm jealous it wasn't here when I was in school. The place is welcoming and super cute with its artsy wall and attention to detail even with their to-go bags and chopsticks. I got to try a few different things here - the Bara chirashi, unagi-Don, and Tom Yum poke. The fish was so fresh and plentiful, and everything was incorporated so well. My favorite was the Tom-Yum - you can't find something like this anywhere else. The flavor was so on point. There's really nothing I would change about anything, it was all 5/5 stars. I also highly recommend getting their matcha latte. It was so delicious, my friend even said it was better than the ones he had in Japan! It's a great refresher with the meal.
google avatar

Yelp
I went to Fish san a handful of times on the PSU campus, and it was an exceptional dining experience! The salmon don was outstanding. The salmon was incredibly fresh and flavorful, sitting atop perfectly cooked rice. Plus, the miso soup included with the entree was a comforting and delicious addition. There was a self ordering station but the service was also great. Most of their menu items feel costly but are worth it. I loved the clean and minimalistic interior of the restaurant. It created a peaceful and modern atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal. The vibes were great, making it a relaxing spot to dine. The packaging was the cutest and most efficient I've ever seen. Not only was it aesthetically pleasing, but it also kept the food fresh and intact, making it perfect for takeout.
google avatar

Shanna C.

Yelp
So glad I was able to try out this place. This place definitely lives up to its reviews. The packaging is so efficient and so cute. You get a cute carry out bag that is reusable, and it fits so much. I also loved that the utensil packaging came with a floss pick to make sure you don't have seaweed stuck in your teeth! Onto the food... I ordered the unagi don because I love unagi, and this bowl did not disappoint. I ended up adding some sliced cucumbers that I had in my fridge. The unagi is a generous portion and is quite flavorful. Because we did do carry out, the rice did get a little clumpy in texture. I would still get it again though My husband got the salmon don with extra fish (2oz). I think the extra 2oz is a necessary amount of fish, which can make the bowl a little spend but the fish quality was good. Overall I would come back again and try some of the other dons and poke bowls, but the unagi don may still be my go to... Definitely check this place out if you're in th

Yelp
Delicious, I got the Tomyum. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The food was quick to prepare, and I took it home in a cool little takeout bag.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my goodness! This is one of the best sushi places in the area! After a long day I was craving some sushi so I did a deep search of the area for good sushi places and stumbled upon this one. What a great choice I made! The quality of the fish is amazing for the price! Also the to go materials were so cute haha. You get a pretty good quality tote bag and your sushi is put in a cute box. The matcha latte was pretty good as well, I would recommend it. For the sushi I would recommend all of it lol. I enjoyed everything I ordered especially the C9 and hamachizilla! My sister really enjoyed the Firework roll. Definitely should give those a try! The girl who helped me in the front was so amazing too- She was the sweetest! Shoutout to her!!
google avatar

Susanne C.

Yelp
Delicious food Friendly Atmosphere Prices are reasonable Relatively good portion sizes Bring friends and Family It'll brighten your day!
google avatar

Sylvia C.

Yelp
First time trying Fish-san and via delivery, we ordered: - Strawberry lemonade - Negihama roll + add avocado - Calico roll - Firework roll - Salmon Toro nigiri - Scallop 3 piece - add marinated eggs Everything was so good. Honestly, would definitely order again. You can definitely spend $70+ between two people but for the quality, it's a great value.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the fresh fish and sushi dishes delivered via Uber Eats! Loved that the miso soup was included with entrees.
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
Glimpsed this place during a recent visit to the PSU Farmer's Mkt. Had lunch at this bright, super-clean and nicely furnished small restaurant. Liked the option to transact via in-store kiosk. The salmon poke bowl was fresh and delicious. Owner has big plans for this concept.
google avatar

Dawn C.

Yelp
Although Uber eats kind of fudged up our delivery (their greedy algorithm resulted in a very delayed delivery of essentially raw fish because the delivery drivers had to wait for multiple other orders before delivering ours), the fish itself was fresh, reasonably priced, and packaged in the cutest bento boxes! Will definitely eat here again, via in person however, rather than relying on unreliable food delivery services. We ordered two nigiri boxes, a poke bowl, and a tuna hosomaki.

Yelp
Fish-San is really good. We came here because of the very high ratings and the fact that they were open on Independence Day. Service is friendly and helpful. Even though the dining room was pretty much empty when we visited, we had a longer-than-expected wait. The very helpful employee very thoughtfully told us that they had a lot of to-go ordered queued up ahead of us, and that there would be a resultant wait. We were very happy to be informed of this ahead of time. She said she'd try to get our items worked in as soon as possible, which she did. Fish-san seems to focus mostly on to-go business. The food is all served in to-go boxes, that appear to be purpose build for sushi, and are high-quality and very charming. Also extremely unique and thoughtful is the sealed and house-branded place setting, which consists of chopsticks, a spork, a napkin, a wet wipe, and a plastic combination toothpick / flosser. I've never seen that elsewhere. I was mot impressed with the spicy tuna poke bowl. It was the best I've ever had. It is thoughtfully garnished with pickled daikon, and another red item I wasn't able to identify, but it was delicious. Also adorning it is finely-chopped seaweed. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'll definitely get this again on my next visit. The 12-piece nigiri special was a great bargain, and items ranged from great, to good, to "what in the world were they thinking"? The real head scratchers in the collection were the bruleed sugar tamago nigiri (seemed to be a take on creme-brulee, but it wasn't good at all - basically caramel on an omelette), and the same treatment on the ebi (shrimp) was every bit as bad as it sounds. The rolls were quite good, and were expertly prepared. I was also happy to see unique beverages such as muscat iced tea and Ramune on offer. There is a very tiny free parking lot, and street parking, which can be quite challenging to find an open spot. Overall, I was quite impressed with Fish-San, and heartily recommend it (save for the burned sugar nigiri).

Tiva F.

Yelp
Been on my list and now wishing I had tried sooner! I wanted quality sushi but just an addition to the dinner I already planned to make. I was excited to see them pop up on Uber Eats. We ordered the C9 roll and the Fish-San futomaki. Both priced like they better be really good. Sushi takeout is normally not impressive but Fish-San is not normal! They're exceptional. I mean yes I only ordered two rolls but the presentation, the quality of every detail, and the flavors made this the best experience anyone could hope for. Both delicious rolls that you never want to end, but the favorite is the C9. Hi house made zingy truffle avocado sauce. Wow do I dare order again two days in a row?? Well I also need to try the rest of the menu! All the questions that must be answered by going back and continuing the research/work to update you. But I'm just one person. This is your sign to go check this place out and fill in!
google avatar

Kaitlin M.

Yelp
Fish San is such a convenient place to go when you are missing quintessential japanese music like their unagi bowl or miso soup. The service is always quick and the staff willing to help. I'm only giving four stars because some days when I try and go, they are closed and the only warning I have is a sign on their door. Definitely an easy and delicious spot to check out when in downtown Portland!
google avatar

Rachel Y.

Yelp
The aesthetic, service, and food of this place is beyond. I ordered to-go and the boxes it came with are so cute! It feels like I'm back to Asia at a good quality sushi store. I ordered chameleon and c9 rolls. C9 is my favorite with a touch of truffle flavor (yum!). I also got 2 nigiris: salmon belly and hamachi. Everything was fresh and even eating it to-go has great quality.
google avatar

Scoob W.

Yelp
Unassuming Japanese lunch spot. But holy cow- the food here was unbelievably good. I got the salmon don. It was so well done, I cannot wait to return. Check it out!
google avatar

Devin R.

Yelp
I got the salmon don and it was great. The flavors were good and the fish was fresh and plentiful. It came with miso soup as well. A good lunch spot by PSU.
google avatar

Sherry B.

Yelp
Great sushi! Everything was so fresh and delicious. It wasn't pricy and had a good range of selection. The set up is not exactly like a sit down restaurant, you would order up front and they will bring out the food. My only complaint is that it took a looooong time for the order to come out, we were sitting for a good 30mins. Since it's my first time here I'm not sure if this is the norm, but certainly a surprise.
google avatar

Carlee M.

Yelp
went to the PSU farmers market & my mom spotted this place while we were walking around. they were playing lofi music in the restaurant & the aesthetic was minimal & bright, loved the ambiance. not a ton of parking in the area, no dedicated parking lot. service was very friendly & welcoming. order at the counter & the food will be brought to you. got the fish-san futomaki sushi roll, with ready for it? salmon, tuna, hamachi, kanpachi, tamago (japanese omelette/egg) & green onion!! it was very very yummyyyyy and japanese mother approved haha! fish melted in my mouth & was pretty fresh!! ngl, I was pretty hesitant since it was sushi place I haven't heard about, but I was pleasantly surprised! they are going through a menu change soon, so not sure if you can cop this roll. but nevertheless, the fish is quality & good so probs can't go wrong with anything you get on their new menu! perf to get a quick meal if you're a student on campus or want some soosh after the farmers market. go support!!
google avatar

Roman S.

Yelp
small sushi-ish shop, clean, delicious. no omakase here, or teriyaki, just sushi (or poke) in various forms. the menu is medium sized. not all fish is available here but they have the good stuff. all fresh, all delicious. food 9/10 presentation 9.5/10 prices are what you'd expect for quality sushi.
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Quality of the sushi was amazing!!! I really appreciate how neat the packaging was from the bowls that was used to the utensils. It's a bit hidden in the PSU area but please make this your next visit!

Yelp
Fish-San to eat and you looked at me Cocked your head to the side and said, "I'm hungry" Barenaked Ladies laugh with me, saying "Let's get together, and bring back the Poke" Barenaked Ladies in the living room I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you Yesterday you'd forgiven me But it is the weekend, and I say "Sashimi" Hold it now and read the hoodwink As I make you stop and think You'll think you're looking at Aquaman I summon fish to the dish, I argue the primise: "I like Chirashi 'Cause it's never touched a frying pan" Hot like Wasabi when I bust rhymes Big robot disguise Because I'm a Transformer Yelpoet's got the mad hits You try to match wits -- useful, funny, and cool Gonna make a break and Furikake I like Spicy Mayo, Oyster Glaze Hamachizilla is the finest of the flavours Gotta see the show, 'cause then you'll know Jalapeño is gonna grow 'Cause it's so dangerous You'll have to sign a waiver How can I help it if I think you're hungry when you're mad Trying hard not to smile after Seaweed Salad I'm inclined to Unagi Don seared eel Can't understand what I mean? Well, you soon will I have a tendency to wipe chopsticks on my sleeve I have a history of eating out constantly Fish-San to eat and you looked at me Threw your arms in the air And said, "Japanese!" Barenaked Ladies tackled me I've still got the rug burns on both my knees Barenaked Ladies in the afternoon You realized it's not my fault Nigiri Roll too soon Yesterday you'd forgiven me And now I sit back and wait 'til you say "Sashimi"

Yelp
A new spot in the PSU area. Super cute shop with nice, calming ambience and a few seatings. Got a takeout order of their Chirashi Bowl. Their packaging game was A+ with reuseable branded bag, packaged utensils, and wooden box! You know that they really care. The attention can also be seen in how they plated their food, even for takeout orders. Fish slices arranged beautifully. All their seafood was also very very fresh, definitely higher quality than most spots in the area. Miso soup was tasty and refreshing. However, their fish portion was on the stingy side. Mainly rice in the box. We also had some ordering issues, wrong order was given to us and we had to go back to the store. I understand though that they're new and still figuring things out. Wouldn't mind going back.
google avatar

Angelee W.

Yelp
This is my new favorite sushi spot in Portland! The salmon nigiri and sashimi are soooo buttery and melt in your mouth. I've been trying to find a place with quality salmon and this more than hits the spot. The salmon belly nigiri is also so good, and surprisingly the same price as the regular salmon. I've gone here twice, once for takeout and once for dine in, and both times the quality is so good! The first two rolls on the menu (smokin cali and firework) are great for their price. The c9 also tastes amazing, again the fish quality is 10/10. Service is amazing too, the girl at the counter is so nice. She gave us free miso soup when the wait was a little long, but we had a big order so that was to be expected. When we went on a Friday night, there wasn't that many people there, and most orders were takeout so there were a lot of empty tables. The decor is very cute, and I like the bright lighting. I'm sure this place will get popular soon because of all the great food, and I hope they thrive and continue to produce all these amazing dishes!
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
One of the positive things about empty downtown Portland is that you can have a place like this all to yourself on a weekday for lunch. We got amazing service very attentive and sweet. I love that you get a little packet of floss along with your meal. Dental hygiene included, the Hamachi bowl I had was delicious the rice was perfectly cooked and I'm home. Hamachi sashimi on top was incredibly fresh. I'm ready to go back to this place.
google avatar

Lauren N.

Yelp
We had our sushi delivered. It was delicious!! It was prepared and displayed nicely. Really fresh. Came packaged very well. This is my new go to sushi. Thanks!!
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
We ate at many different restaurants during our stay in Portland and this little gem was the best in terms of taste/quality and also happened to be the most affordable. If you love fresh sushi come here. The salmon-don was amazing. Butter soft and reminded me of hawaii. Unagi-don also great. The complimentary miso soup also super fresh. Food so good we ate here twice and wish we came back more. Place is clean. Even containers/utensils are aesthetically thoughtful. Located within Portland State University. Lots of parking. Away from the meth-heads in downtown. Service also super friendly. Highly recommend. I wish a place like this was near us. Easy 5+ Stars!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't say enough about these people a day or just amazing. They're next to Rowan. Get a little sushi rice done and have a little bite.

Yelp
Omg... I'm literally writing this review as I'm scarfing down my bowl right now LOL. I was craving poke or something similar for lunch and decided to try this place off ubereats. I was not expecting it to be sooooo cute and so good!! Everything is literally perfect.. the fish, the rice, the flavors, the textures... gurl GET ITTTT. Also the bag it came in and the packaging for the utensils was SO KYOOOOOT. And they give u a lil floss pick!?How thoughtful:') Idk if this is owned by women or what but that's the energy it's giving and I'm HERE FOR ITTTT. I luv u Fish-San :')

Yelp
Came here out of curiosity since there was such high ratings and it did not disappoint! The fish quality was almost that of an upscale omakase for just just $33. Service was super inviting and nice. The interior was very cozy and clean.
google avatar

Kenny F.

Yelp
The sushi menu is limited, but everything is done well. The fish is fresh and vibrant. We had the Chirasushi, Strawberry Lemonade, and Calico Roll. All were made to order and were very fresh. I liked the Strawberry Lemonade Roll the most. We were greeted warmly by the young lady behind the counter. It is a casual place where you order and pay for your food at the counter. Seating is limited to a few tables. it is not fancy, but everything is clean and welcoming.

Yelp
I've lived in PDX my whole life and this is some of the best you can get! I ordered through Doordash and right off the bat, the packaging is to die for. Our food was wrapped up so cutely and safely! The sushi came in these adorable bento-esque boxes and it's clear they put so much thought and care into the food and packaging. The little touches like the branded bag and custom utensils bag was the cherry on top. Onto the food itself, my favorite was the futomaki! So flavorful and fragrant; it's a must-try. The fish was so bouncy and fresh. The chameleon was also great! I'm really looking forward to trying the rest of the menu, as all the dishes seemed so creative and unique! Would definitely order again, you simply can't go wrong.
google avatar

Tai L.

Yelp
It was my first time at Fish-San and I'm so happy I stopped by and tried! The only sushi on campus is a conveyer belt sushi, so this was a different experience. My friends and I decided to sit in and eat, and the food was amazing. The Strawberry Roll is probably my favorite (second pic) - definitely eat it with the lemon! I really like the poke bowl as well. I added crab salad and seaweed salad and that was really good as well. They're soft opened for now, so their menu is being refined for their grand opening, but definitely stop by for some quality sushi! Not pictured, but definitely a dish worth trying are their scallops!

Yaya S.

Yelp
hello my name is yaya and i'm a fish-san-holic. i first discovered this gem on doordash, since they truly stood out from other restaurants with their high quality packaging. i was completely oblivious as to the exact location of this place until recently. this works out perfectly for me because all my courses this term are on campus! fish-san will likely be my new go-to for sushi. SUSHI AROUND PSU: i used to go to blue fin sushi before they closed down, and i wouldnt say that mika sushi is really worth the walk. sushi and friends around the food carts is always a hit or miss, and murata can tend to be pricey. i would say that fish-san is a good choice if you aren't looking to stray to far from campus for your lunch break. as for the girl that typically works there, she is such a sweetheart. its a small and quaint place, but she does great job with managing it all in a timely & polite manner. looking forward to seeing you guys grow! you will be seeing a lot of me.

Tuyen L.

Yelp
I usually don't feel compelled to write reviews or upload photos unless I am thoroughly satisfied. Only reason I gave this a 4 star being as the sauce was a little on the sweeter end. Felt as if it was more for tempura minus the dashi. I do wish sushi establishments would offer a better soy sauce selection ie...Maggies (although it is technically just seasoning sauce.) Or just any non gluten free varieties that isn't mainstream. Cannot say this place offers Kikkoman as I did not see the packets! =) but as per usual that's the cheapest considering food cost. I do love how fresh it was and presentation was immaculate. Wish the amaebi head was fried. With that said, overall I would definitely order again! Might be my to go since my favorite place doesn't deliver!
google avatar

Philippe T.

Yelp
The food was excellent, the staff we kind, and it was nice, quiet, and very well-lit. The only thing was that they ran out of some items on the menu, other than that... WOW!

Alex S.

Yelp
Best poke in Portland - they give you big portions - fish is high quality Out of all the poke places I have been fish- San is the best
google avatar

Margot O.

Yelp
Their food service and quality are superior to many other offerings of a similar variety which I have visited in my life. Everything is fresh and made to order, by hand. The furnishings are on the minimalist-side, but are just right and offer a pleasant ambiance. Their prices are fair when considering the quality of the overall product.

Yelp
I found 2 large sharp pieces of cartilage or bone still attached to the fish in my roll in two pieces. I only found them when I got poked in the mouth and thought it was glass.

My roommate and I order DoorDash from her at least 2x per week. My feelings are starting to get hurt because this place is becoming my favorite sushi place (sorry bamboo). But, the fish is so fresh. The rolls are insane good. And the packaging gives Apple a run for its money. Top tier: C9 and Futomaki. These rolls will blow your mind.

Yelp
I've only ordered delivery so far but every time has been such a great experience! I would highly recommend their poke bowls, great portion size and great taste :) being from Hawaii it's been hard to find a poke bowl that tastes like home but this comes pretty dang close

Yelp
I got Hamachizilla and King Salmon. From the aesthetics of the place to the fish, everything is very pleasing ! The yuzu kosho I believe is what's on top of the hamachi, gives a nice little zest to the subtle taste of the fish. Can't wait to try other items !

Yelp
Excellent service. Had the sashimi platter, chameleon role, and strawberry lemonade role. The quality of the sushi was excellent and the portions generous. Definitely will be coming back.

Yelp
The fish here is sooo unbelievably fresh!! Loved everything here we only took photos of the first two because we were so busy eating. The teriyaki salmon is just seared and the sauce is excellent. The sashimi platter was very fresh and a nice thick size. Service was excellent!! I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Wow that was so good! Very fresh and large portions. When I had read these reviews I thought that some of them were fake because of how good the food looked--was not disappointed by seeing it in person. Beautiful! And also tastes amazing. We ordered four rolls. Came with a cute bag and boxes--also included nicer chopsticks(with a flosser too!), and good soy sauce :)

Yelp
These sashimi are heaven sent! So fresh and delicious, hits every bit of my taste! They also have poke so we order poke over rice. Probably the best poke in the greater Portland Metropolitan. Owner very welcoming, a must try place for sushi/sashimi/poke lovers.
