Best Restaurants and Bars to Try on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa | Eater San Diego

"One of the first Chinese restaurants in San Diego to specialize in suan cai yu, a white fish and fermented cabbage stew spiked with Sichuan peppercorns and Chinese chile peppers, Fish With You opened earlier this year and has quickly established itself as a go-to spot on Convoy. The addictive sour tinge to the soup comes courtesy of the cabbage, which is pickled overnight. The counter-service restaurant also offers unlimited sides like free Wuchang rice imported from China, tofu, black fungus, needle mushrooms, and sweet potato vermicelli. The most popular soup is the laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage, chile and basa fish, but be sure to also try the sides like crispy pork." - Helen I. Hwang

Best Seafood in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Convoy District is fortunate to have an outpost of Fish With You, a hugely popular fish soup franchise with over 2,500 locations in 360 cities, mostly in China. The restaurant showcases a version of a hearty, spicy fish and pickled vegetable soup that’s a must-try. Start with the signature suancai and fish soup with a choice of basa or snakehead white fish before branching out to green Szechuan pepper suancai and fish. Soups come with sweet potato glass noodles and Chinese stem lettuce with free add-ons like enoki mushrooms, bean curd, and bowls of rice. Don’t skip the side items like crispy pork (or crispy chicken as an off-the-menu option)." - Helen I. Hwang

Popular Chinese Restaurant Chain Fish With You Is Opening in Koreatown | Eater LA

"A China-based chain with over 2,000 locations is moving into the former Mountain space in Koreatown and already operates U.S. locations in Rowland Heights and Queens, with a recent expansion to the Convoy District in San Diego. The signature dish is a whitefish stew cooked with tangy pickled cabbage (suan cai) and numbing Sichuan peppercorns; diners choose between basa fish or snakehead. Other soup options include tomato beef, vinegar‑pepper, and crispy pork with hot oil, and the stews can be customized with tofu, wide sweet potato vermicelli noodles, baby cabbage, and lettuce. Common accompaniments and small plates include Taiwanese sausage and chicken skewers, and dessert offerings include sweet brown sugar glutinous rice cake." - Rebecca Roland

The Best Restaurants in Flushing’s Chinatown | Eater NY

"This enormous fast-casual chain in China landed stateside in the summer with a sole focus: Sichuan fish and fermented cabbage stew. The five broths hit up all the distinctive traits of Sichuan: spicy, tingly, and sour with sprigs of Sichuan peppercorns still on the vine. Take your pick of basa or snakehead (a thinner, flaky white-fleshed fish) fish fillets and toppings like enoki mushrooms. With rice on the side, portions are hefty." - Caroline Shin

Google
I feel it after one bowl of recommended fish soup. Amazing we ordered 2 sets to start with tomato beef and lemon fish favor both my kids loved it!!! Unlimited white rice refill!!!! Side dish also amazing for fried oyster

Chris T.

Google
Fantastic soup place. The broths are so soulful and flavorful, simply delish. The place is tuck into the odd strip mall that has a very busy parking lot (they do have parking garage too). Did wait long, the place is clean, bright, airy, comfortable & homey vibe. Staff are nice and helpful. Easy order process (via app), portion is big and prices are very reasonable. We enjoyed it a lot with left over and enough for another meal for all of us. 2 mail dishes, 2 desserts and a beer with tip for us is around $80ish. Definitely a place to go on a cold/rainy days.

Google
Good is delicious and so flavorful! If you like spicy and sour this is the place to come! Highly recommend the Golden Soup. Also rice comes with every dish. Place is clean and service is great, cannot recommend it enough!

Google
Today I had dinner at Fish With You. The waiter was really kind and attentive, even though he was working so late. I really appreciate his effort! The sauerkraut fish tasted just like back home — authentic and delicious. I’m very satisfied and will definitely come back again!

Google
We ordered their Signature Dish and the tomato based. The Signature Dish was okay in comparison to other places I've been. The tomato based is unique for sure. But.. get the brown sugar rice appetizer. This was my favorite.

Google
Actually, we were planning to go another restaurant, but they put us in wait list for 45mins. So we decided to go the fish place. And I’m so glad I made great decision. They made amazing fish, every fish dish came with different vegetables. We ordered 5 dishes, only spent $75. Great place with great price, will come again.

Google
The food here is delicious! The fish with pickled vegetables is so flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous, and the taste is authentic. I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely come back again. Highly recommend if you love great food!

Google
This restaurant will be my favorite one from now on. The wait was short, and the food was fast and delicious. I ordered the signature one: not very spicy with a sour flavor and the fish was so fresh. I also ordered the chicken skewer, sweet potato with taro, and the sesame ball; all good Will come back soon

Paul C.

Yelp
Fresh and good test. ! Very good location near free way 60 at Fullerton avenue exit ! Best fish seafoods in town! 城中最新鮮的酸菜魚湯! 加粉皮更加好味 多樣化小菜好吃 送給一個大白飯不飽都不行了! 要排隊哦、

Yelp
Good place, can come back again, the food choice is lot, clean eating situation, service good

Lydia L.

Yelp
Restaurant sits in busy plaza but no long wait. Food portions are reasonable at this price. Restaurant is clean

Yelp
The broth was savory and sour. The chili peppers were not too spicy and the szechuan peppercorns give it a numbing spice. The chive rolls were good with shrimp and chives.

Yelp
I would say this place has a very acquired taste! Make sure you like mala numbing spice, Chinese aromatics, and pickled vegetables !!! Even if you don't like fish, you can substitute for beef, but the aromatics are there and the aromatics are strong!!! That being said, I really did enjoy the signature suan cai fish. It actually wasn't spicy at all, I'd say a slight mild at best, just peppery/numbing if you bit into one of the peppercorns. It comes with snakehead fish (very tender, smooth), thick glass noodles, celtuce, and A LOT of pickled vegetables! The soup is oily but drinkable. The soup goes really well with rice and the small portion can easily feed 2 people. The Super Angus beef menu item is the beef equivalent and comes with 3 flavor options: tomato, golden, and laotan. We asked for their recommendation and they told us that golden is more sour and laotan is more salty, so we ordered the laotan. It's basically the signature soup (or VERY VERY similar) with more of a bitter aftertaste. Soup base wise we liked the signature fish one more. Next time we'd skip the beef altogether though. It wasn't memorable. We ordered one of their appetizers, the chive roll and it is SO GOOD!! It comes out freshly fried (kind of oily but eh we knew what we were getting into), piping out and delicious. I believe it's fish paste (but could be shrimp paste) and had a bunch of chives and actual shrimp inside too. Service was fast and efficient and they are good at filling up the water canister for the table and bringing extra napkins. The small size order comes with 1 bowl of rice. A large will come with 2 bowls of rice included. Each additional bowl of rice is $2. It's located in Diamond Plaza so parking is hit or miss depending on the day. Try the underground parking if the upper lot is full!

Yelp
Tuesday, October 14, 2025 Approx. 1:50 PM My wife's Review: (Born & raised in Chongqing) 酸菜特別地道,味道很好,價格也很親民,值得推薦喔! My review: (Born & raised in NorCal) From the outside, it appears to be some kind of Chinese fast-food restaurant. However, they are preparing finely crafted dishes, specializing in seafood. My wife & I ordered their, "Signature Suancai" soup. It had a good portion of fresh fish, pickled vegetables and a very smooth and not too spicy fish broth. Now, if this was just a fast food place, they would simply dish out prepared soup and condiments out of some cans in the mass production style. But you can tell that they're taking their time and care for each dish when you enjoy the finished result. You order by scanning a QR code at your table, and you can choose from either an English or Chinese menu from your phone. The cute thing about their menu platform is that if you need service, you simply tap the waiter icon on your phone. The image on the menu indicates a charge of $0.00 for waiter service with a smile, and is also reflected on the final receipt. After tapping the service icon on your phone, a waiter or waitress comes to your table almost immediately. Pretty clever way to get the attention of the staff. (I'm pointing this out since many Chinese restaurant reviews on Yelp include comments on poor service. You won't have that problem here, as long as you remember to tap the service icon on your phone.) The establishment decor is very simple and functional. The customer demographics cover from individual diners, young couples to families, all seeming to savoring the food. BOTTOM LINE: If you like authentic Chinese seafood served in soup, ALL AT A REASONABLE PRICE, this place is a must visit.

Yelp
Parking is in a plaza, and service is nice. You get directed to a table and order off a QR code. We got: 9/10 Sauerkraut fish ($17.95): Really liked that the peppercorn wasn't in small pieces so we could drink the soup without worrying about biting into one every second. Fish was delicious and soup was the perfect spice. There's no option to make it spicier but I would recommend spice lovers asking them since it's not spicy at all. One serving size can feed two people.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Yumm! We ordered three items. The crispy pork, green pepper sichuan and the signature! You must get the crispy pork! It's a staple to the dish, so crispy. Also I enjoy the unlimited amount of rice and the service size was huge for the price. I enjoyed both sichuan dishes but I personally liked the signature a bit more due to the slightly sour taste! I also thought it would have been nice if we ordered one beef dish and one fish dish for variety next time, since the fish for both dishes tasted the same. The staff were really attentive and it was easy to order online on the app. Overall great experience!

Yelp
We went for lunch on Saturday and got seated right away! There was a lot of people too! You order off a QR code. The store itself has a lot of seating and the store is decorated with lots of items from their menu! Super Angus Beef in Tomato Broth 7/10 If you love tomato this is for you - it's a savory tomato! A little tangy with no spice. I'll try the Laotian broth next time. We got a 1 person serving and it filled us (2) up! So much beef and enoki! My favorite! Fried milk 9/10 My boyfriend loves these! They're crispy and soft on the inside! Crispy Pork 7/10 They used to put a lot of sichuan seasoning on this, but when I went there was barely any. Hopefully they put more on next time. Coconut Lava Balls 7/10 Crunchy & soft on the inside with a good not too sweet coconut flavor! It even had sago on the inside! Pumpkin Cake 7/10 These were so soft with a red bean filling!!! I just needed a little condensed milk to go with these and it would've been perfect!

Yelp
First time trying this place and it did not disappoint. I shared the tomato broth snakehead fish bowl with my son. It was just the right amount of food for me. The soup comes with rice. You order online by the QR code and the food comes out fast. The waiter comes to you for payment at the end with a device when you are ready to pay. Overall, I would come back if I am craving fish soup again.

Yelp
This chain is apparently really popular in China. They specialize in fish soup. I'm only assuming that the flavors could be way different, but based on my order, the flavors and aromas have a familiar sourness and spiciness to it. Service was helpful and efficient. I got seated pretty much right away (I was here by myself), even though the place was packed with a lively vibe because it was prime dinner time. The portions are pretty generous. I ordered the regular Signature Suancai & Fish, which comes with rice. And I'm not a small person, but this was two meals for me. (Maybe the orders are designed for two people, haha). For me the spice level was still tolerable. I was sweating a bit but had some extra napkins to help. The flavors were really good and the soup had plenty of fish and veggies. I also ordered some of the fried sweet potato balls as a side to snack on. They were also tasty. The parking lot was pretty large and I was able to find parking right away, but it may be luck of the draw because this strip mall seems to be always busy with very popular eateries in the area.

Yelp
From a random white guy (not Chinese): This soup is good. It's the perfect balance of spicy, sour, rich, and umami. We got the signature fish soup since it was our first time here. You have to order on your phone but it's very easy. Too bad you can't pay on the phone, too. I'm not sure I would order this particular dish again. The fish was basa which is an inexpensive fish with almost no flavor or texture. There were other fish options too. The dish comes mounded with delicious ingredients like pickled veggies, tofu, and chewy noodles. The problem is the broth is so strongly flavored (chili, peppercorns, etc) that the ingredients don't have any particular flavor at all. I prefer soups with quality ingredients you can taste and the broth is a complementary background flavor. If you're hungry you can put that delicious sour broth on as much perfectly cooked rice as you can eat.

Yelp
Ordered Uber Eats delivery on a weekday evening. The food was delivered so fast and packaged extremely well. They used a reusable bag which was nice. I have tried one person classic aromatic suancai fish, it was black fish with 3 add-ons included and a side of rice. The portion was big and the flavors were very comforting. Except there was too much Sichuan peppercorns in it. I am not a fan of numbing flavor. Still the fish was tender and yummy. I will order Uber eats from here again (leave out the numbing peppercorns next time)!

Karissa C.

Yelp
First off, the reviews of this restaurant are inflated due to the restaurant providing a free drink in exchange for a 5 star review. The place is busy. We came on Sunday at around 2-3pm and had to wait 10 mins to get seated. The place is decent. For a party of 4 we ordered one sour cabbage and one tomato broth one, both which came with two bowls of white rice each. The flavor is very good as well as the fish. One note is we ordered bamboo shoots as a topping and besides my sister getting one piece, no one else saw any other bamboo shoots. The crispy pork and taro lava balls are both great. They come out warm and crispy.
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
My friend took me here for a quick lunch. We got the signature. Overall the dish was flavorful & it wasn't too numbing. I wished the white steam rice was softer in texture (way too hard to chew).
google avatar

Vivian

Yelp
First time comes here. Really enjoy it! The fishes and vegetables are so delicious! And great service!
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
My gosh, this place is so good. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. The meat with the suancai is the perfect, refreshing combination. There are a lot of variations here, but my favorite is the golden bowl. Service is exceptional, and the portion is massive. If you like spicy, pickled, and no-frills type of good chinese food, this is it. This plaza is also amazing, with all kinds of good foods, melo melo for dessert, a clawcade, KTV (karaoke/noraebang) and Japanese beauty stores.
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
One of my recent favorites when I'm in the area. It's kind of a mix of sit-down and fast-food in terms of service which actually works out great for fast table turnarounds. The place is a bit small so expect a short wait during dinner rush. Their main thing is spicy suancai (preserved/pickled vegetables) fish soup which comes in a few varieties. It's on the intense side in terms of flavor but actually quite refreshing! Their menu is pretty streamlined for the most part and they offer some interesting sides and unlimited rice. At first the portions seem huge, but the bowls are actually quite shallow. However, I find that it is usually quite enough food. For two people, we usually get a large and a regular size entree, take anything extra home for an easy meal the next day.
google avatar

Janey Y.

Yelp
The hype is real with this restaurant. When I first visited in February, I saw the lines for lunch and knew I had to try it. I went again in June on a summer night and still found a line. We opted for a large and it was more enough for us. Served with two bowls of rice and water at our disposal. Check-in is via tablet and ordering is via phone. Service is friendly and efficient. We went with the top recommendation (laotan suancai and had snake fish). It was considered mild spicy but there was still plenty of spice. Overall, I will come again.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
My wife loves coming to this place. The food is great and open seating. Can be a little loud when it's crowded but it doesn't both us. Self serve to order and food comes out fast. Service is quick also to refill water and cleanup.

Zhenliang C.

Yelp
Delicious black fish and spicy triple delight bowls just like the stores in china. Recommend if you like hot , sour, and spicy food.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Quite unique and very depth flavorful broth. Located in an odd and busy mall strip that doesn't have enough parking space (even though they do have parking garage below). The place is nice, airy, bright and spacious. Service is nice and fast. Easy ordered via app and quite fast on turnaround. Price wise, very reasonable and portion is quite big plus we have left over for another full meal too. Overall quite enjoyable and festive meal. Will come back during cold days for sure.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Located in Diamond Plaza, this restaurant is known for their sour fish soup. They offer a variety of sour soups so we had to check it out. We got the Crispy Pork and Laotan Soup with basa fish. You can chose 4 sides to add into the soup, we chose bean curd, woodear mushroom, tofu, and lettuce. We got a portion for 2 people but it was so filling that the 3 of us took the rest for leftovers! This is a bright space with ample seating. There's Chinese and English on the menu and ordering.
google avatar

Carrie W.

Yelp
Fish with you is located in the diamond plaza and it specializes in suan cai and fish. The ordering system was easy to understand. We scanned a QR code that led us to the selection of the dishes. We got three different soups to try out their flavors. You can choose between basa fish and snakehead. You can also choose 4 toppings to put in your soup such as enoki, tofu, vermicelli, black fungus, etc. Laotan suancai & snakehead: The soup was a little too oily for my preference, but had a nice flavor. The snakehead was really tender. Green Szechuan Pepper Suancai & basa fish: we asked for this dish less spicy, which led me to be to believe they would put less szhechuan peppers, but it was still very mala. My mouth was so numb, but the employee gave us some extra broth to help with the mala and it worked. Royal Tomato fish: this was my favorite out of the three. It was rich and had a good flavor. I enjoyed it. Overall, the soups felt very comforting. I would definitely come again during colder weather.
google avatar

Viola L.

Yelp
It's one of the classic comfort fish soup. Perfect for winter and summer. I love the fish and the fermented vegetables so much! Really like the fast easy nice service as well. May not be the fanciest soup, but it's a must for both winter and summer!

Yelp
Came here tonight to enjoy a pre birthday dinner. You manually scan the QR code on the table to place your order. We got a variety of dishes from seaweed salad, fried golden oysters, garlic chives and Taiwanese sausage for openers. Out of those mentioned the only item I will say tasted the best were the Taiwanese sausage and seaweed salad. The main course were the fish dishes the green szechuan pepper suancai fish was a little spicy bitterness to it and the fish was soft. Anyone who has dentures or needs to eat soft foods I recommend to come here. The tomato fish was equally as tasty minus the spicy taste with more of a tomato flavor with added tofu makes it very good for those people needing soft foods without the spice. As for the super angus tomato dish it was a hyped up Yoshinoya dish with tomato soup. It wasn't all that but if you're not into fish then that's your only option. The atmosphere was pleasant as it's new and vibrant. I'd definitely come back and get this for my mom who only can eat soft foods. There are plenty of parking at the ground level with additional parking downstairs so come on over.
google avatar

Cedric L.

Yelp
A bit different from their Koreantown location. They don't have the hand pulled noodle add-on. The tomato base one is probably my favorite. The spicy/malaa ones are ok but way too many floating Szechuan peppercorns and it's annoying to bite into them.
google avatar

Jacinda X.

Yelp
Dined here at 8pm on a bustling Thursday night, and it didn't disappoint! Service: The staff was quick and efficient. We waited briefly for a table for two, but they kept things moving smoothly, and we were seated in no time. Ambiance: It was a full house, which made it a tad noisy. Food: We ordered single-serving soups ($15-$18), and each one was absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The best part? The unlimited hot, fresh rice that paired beautifully with the soup. Will definitely be back for more of that unbeatable soup-rice combo!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I sometimes get a sudden craving for Suan Cai Yu, and we've come often enough to Fish With You to know that it's a reliable choice to get that craving satisfied. There's a huge parking lot (and even an underground parking structure), but the parking situation can be difficult depending on time and day of the week. Fish With You shares the lot with a lot of other popular restaurants We normally get the Laotan Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili, which is a decently sized portion for two people. The pungency and flavor of the broth are addicting -- it's the type of food you want to keep eating even after you're already full. The fish is gently cooked and soft, and is my favorite part of the dish (apart from the bouncy and chewy sweet potato vermicelli). We also get the crispy pork, which is a great accompaniment to the boiled fish. The food is always solid and the service is always kind and quick, but I do have one minor complaint -- WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE RICE CAKES? As much as we love the Suan Cai Yu, my boyfriend and I unanimously agreed that the brown sugar glutinous rice cakes were the best item on the menu. They were crisp on the outside, chewy and hot on the inside, and had just the right amount of brown sugar syrup drizzle. The new ones aren't bad, but I don't find myself craving these as much as the old ones. Regardless, I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
I went to Fish With You for lunch on Friday with a friend, and we both really liked the place. We ordered their Signature Suan Cai & Fish (single serving) for $17.95, which was great. It's a fixed dish with bamboo shoots, fish, and starch noodles. You can't add other ingredients, but it's already a well-balanced combination and very delicious. You can also choose your preferred spice level. We also ordered the Laotian Suan Cai & Fish (two-person serving) for $23.95. For this dish, you can add extra ingredients at no additional charge, which was great. We added dried soy skin, enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, and black fungus. You can also select the spice level for this one. There was so much food that the two of us couldn't finish it and had to take the rest to go. The service was great, and the price is fair. Now I have another lunch option--and I think it would be great for dinner too. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends and will visit again!

Lala K.

Yelp
Guys I love this place so much. Not to be an over glazer, but the food is just really delicious -- they deserve every 5/5 stars they get. I would have to say I've been here probably 3-4 times in the last two weeks alone just to try out something new on the menu. The workers are pretty mellow but still very polite and nice, they always bring lots of napkins to the tables. Their squid skewers are definitely a favorite appetizer of mine, it is literally a flavor bomb!

Yelp
Delicious fish dishes Fast frendily service, Clean Modern ambiance Would recommend if you like spicy Most dish here are with a bit of spice

Yelp
Ordered to-go: -Signature Snakehead soup Medium $18 comes with rice, two sides wide bean thread noodles, and pickles -Laotan Basa soup Medium $15 sides I picked mushroom and bean curd. Rice also included. Both dishes were both so amazing and tasty. The were both equally good on its own and you really can't tell which is the better tasting dish unless you eat the soup side-by-side. With the soup comparison ended up liking the signature soup a little better because 1: The snake head was really tasty and tender and 2: The bigger pieces of pickled greens lent the soup a slight tang which brightened up the dish a lot better than the Laotan soup. Plus the bigger pieces of pickled greens gave a good texture deferential compared to the other soup. This place automatically will go on the repeat list however I feel it's just as good as my go to Feng shui fish soup place I frequent in OC. The prices are about the same especially since the taxes are lot higher in LA.
google avatar

AyEmWhy L.

Yelp
The quality for this price is really great. We ordered: fish skin which was crunchy and a little chewy. Chives egg rolls were crispy on the outside and stuffed with yummy shrimp and chives on the inside. The squid was flavorful but a little dry. The fish soup was savory and mildly spicy. Overall pretty tasty. The food came out lightning fast and service was prompt. It's a clean simple place that's good to grab a quick bite.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for take out and for some reason we were charged tips. When I swiped credit card, the screen didn't show any selection for tips. I believe if it's "take out", we are not obligated to tip unless there's excellent or extra service we were provided.

Yelp
Been wanting to try "Fish With You" for a while now but was a little hesitant because it's quite specialized and I was a bit afraid that my husband would not like it. After looking over the menu and reading reviews, we've decided to give them a try this trip. Suancai & fish is one of my favorite dishes and if I see it on the menu, I'm always tempted to get it. It's essentially boiled fish with preserved veggies. It is boiled in broth and the broth is traditionally made with the fish bones and fish head. The soup will also have peppers and numbing peppercorns for the spice. It's super delicious with some noodles & rice! The dish itself tends to be quite pricey back home. My husband, friend and I arrived at the restaurant around 6PM tonight and were seated almost right away. There's a QR code on the table for you to scan to open up the digital menu and order from your phone. You also have the option of grabbing a physical menu and one of the servers will come along to take your order. I had a few questions on the menu that I wanted some clarification so we decided to order with the server. According to the server, their Signature Suancai & Fish is very similar to the Laotan Suancai & Fish taste wise. The Signature one is set meaning you can't change anything to it. It only comes with Snakefish and the sides are already decided too (I can't remember which ones you get). For the Laotan, you can choose between the basa fish or the snakehead fish. The snakehead does have skin on it so if you're not a fan of that, I would recommend the basa. Additionally, you get to choose which sides you want in your dish. If you get the 1 person portion, it comes with your choice of 2 sides and rice. If you get the 2 person portion, it comes with your choice of 4 sides and two bowls of rice. Unfortunately, you cannot pay to add more sides to your dish, which is kinda odd to me. The good part is ... the rice seems to be unlimited refills. The sides that you can choose include: bean curd (was actually tofu skin), enoki mushroom, baby cabbage (napa), tofu, vermicelli (was actually wide potato noodles), black fungus (aka wood ear mushroom), and lettuce stems. There were reviews saying that the one person portion is actually a good amount of food so for the three of us, we went with: Laotan Suancai & Fish - We got the one person portion with basa fish. For sides, I went with the bean curd and vermicelli. This was super delicious and flavorful. I wish it was a bit spicier though cause the peppers were really subtle. The basa fish was delicious and easy to eat. Wasn't a huge fan of their bean curd (tofu skin) but they gave a lot! I loved the noodles though cause it soaked up all the broth. Everything was so delicious with rice. Super Angus Beef - We got the one person portion with tomato broth. Similar to their Signature, you could not choose the sides. This automatically came with napa cabbage, enoki mushroom, and tofu. This dish was pretty good too! The tomato broth is clean, flavorful, and a tad tangy. It's great when you're not into the spicy and sour broth. We also got an extra bowl of rice at $1.99 since there was three of us and we only ordered two one person portions. Honestly, it was plenty of food for the three of us. We were all full! For dessert, we got the coconut lava balls. They were airy, crispy, and filled with a coconut sago type of filling. It was light and not too sweet! The prices are extremely reasonable as well & the service is good! The servers answered any and all questions that I had. Overall, I loved the food here. It's quite specialized and it's not for everyone. But they do have non-fish dishes and sides for those that aren't huge fans. I am definitely returning when I am in the area again!

Yelp
No fuss, convenient restaurant to drop in for lunch or dinner. There was a short 5-15 min wait since we went on the weekend, but the waitlist moves quickly. You order from a QR code and can choose whether you want a 1 serving size or 2 serving size soup + whatever add-ons you want. We got the signature suancai and angus beef soups, which tasted authentic! Not too salty or spicy either. It comes with rice and free rice refills. The waitress was also very attentive with refilling our water and bringing new water carafes when needed! It's easy to try different soup options with their ordering system, and we also liked the crispy pork appetizer that we got. For future trips, I think it would be better to get single serving size soups so you can try more flavors. It's located conveniently in a shopping plaza near grocery stores. Would come back!

Yelp
We ordered takeout on a weekend and it was a 15 minute wait. This plaza gets very packed on the weekends, especially with the dim sum in the plaza too! We decided to go with their TOP 2 choice and it was super declined and filling! Great for two people to share. The dish also comes with 2 free rice along with 4 free toppings. We chose the bean curd, which had so much inside, enoki mushroom, cabbage and black fungus. We also opted for the black fish I believe. Surprisingly, there was a lot of fish given and the soup had a hint of spicy! Will definitely be back to try possibly their TOP 1 dish!

Yelp
This place has been on my list for awhile, and I finally got to try it. The broth is so so good, perfect amount of spice and flavor. Also, lots of fish and topping throughout the soup. I got the two people portion which is more than enough for two and even potentially three people!

Yelp
I've been to Fish With You twice and enjoyed it both times. On my last go around, I tried the lemon soup-- It's delicious and has a very refreshing flavor that opens up your appetite. And of course, the value of the fish pots here are great. I'm hoping they don't decide to raise prices once they get more popular! Snacks here are also good (and heat up very nicely in an air fryer if you can't finish). The pumpkin cake could have used a little extra sweetener so that it didn't taste quite so oily, but the coconut lava balls were excellent. Squid skewers are also good, but the size of the skewer does vary a little. Last time, I got one that was quite a bit smaller than during this last visit. Also: I don't really recommend getting this place for takeout unless you'll be eating it right away. If you wait at all and need to reheat it, the fish pieces seize up a lot or fall apart, becoming kind of small and sad. It also felt like there was less fish than usual, but I might have been imagining that because of the aforementioned effect.

Yelp
My life will drastically be affected if this place closes. There aren't many reasons I would willingly drive to diamond plaza and fight for parking but this restaurant has changed my life for the better. I've been here twice now but would definitely come back. Both times the wait was under 5 minutes on a Sunday and the restaurant seemed like it was consistently rotating customers. We've gotten the signature sun cai and fish and the flavor was delicious and loaded with fish pieces. Also got the triple delight in chili oil and it's one of my favorite dishes but I could do without the tofu skin. The super angus beef is the best! Both the golden soup and tomato broths tasted amazing and can't decide between the two of which one is my favorite. The tomato broth was rich and not spicy at all so it's nice to switch in between a spicy dish and this one. It also had tofu and the golden soup did not but the sour/spicyness of the golden soup was so good. Will definitely go back to try the lao tan. I love that they give rice but wish they would wait until the food came out since it starts to get cold. The service is great, the water is good, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are reasonable

Yelp
I would give this place 3.5 stars. Most of the dishes here are spicy. If you like fish and spicy food, you might like this place more than I do. I don't care for spicy food, so the food here is just okay for me (not spectacular.) For some of the dishes, you can choose between two kinds of fish. The fish does taste fresh, not fishy. The flavor is not bad; but I think the broth is too oily and spicy for me. Service is average, not great. This place is kind of small, so be prepared to wait if you come at a busy time.

Yelp
Good spot if you're like me sporadically craving Sichuan spicy pickled fish! If you don't know what that is and like to be adventurous, go try it!!! Located in Diamond Plaza in RH, so parking can get crazy during weekend nights. Lots of seating available, no need to wait. They maximize their space, so you may be seated right next to other guests. All ordering is done through your mobile device. Out of two other spots I've tried in SoCal, this is competitively priced. We ordered two soups which is a lot for two people. I would definitely come here again.

Yelp
Bright and clean! Been on my to try list for a while. Good service! Justin is the best! He's very attentive. It might be fish with you but they also offer fish, pork, beef.

Yelp
Fish With You is a clean, well lit, and casual eatery. It's located in a busy plaza where parking can be difficult to find due to the many popular restaurants in the area. The Super Angus Beef and Signature Suancai & Fish were my favorites. This restaurant is all about bold flavors, so you must enjoy them with rice. Our waiters were friendly and patient with my group. We had several requests during our meal, and they handled everything wonderfully!
