"Having already established three neighbourhood restaurants in London, owners David Gingell and Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim turned their attention to an old bank building in Cornwall. Their deep-rooted local and sustainable philosophy remains the same, except here the dishes have more of a seafood slant." - Michelin Inspector
Cornwall’s Best Restaurants | Where to Eat in Cornwall on Holiday | Eater London
"After completing a trilogy of beautifully designed, locally beloved North London neighbourhood restaurants, David Gingell and Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim took something of a left turn in opening their next venture, Fitzroy, some 250 miles west. All of their signature flourishes — natural wines, small plates, gorgeous interiors — are present and correct here, but the setting, a former bank, has a high-ceilinged grandeur that compliments the more understated things happening in the glass and on the plate, and there’s something undeniably special in eating spanking-fresh seafood mere metres from the water. A more casual spinoff, North Street Kitchen, is open seasonally in an abandoned boathouse overlooking Fowey’s picturesque estuary; if it’s on the menu, the fried fish sandwich is a must-order." - George Reynolds

London’s Restaurant Bond With Cornish Seafood Grows Stronger | Eater London
"Opening in Fowey, Cornwall this summer from a north London team, this seaside restaurant will center on locally sourced seafood with planned highlights such as mussels escabeche, crab with cultured cream, and gurnard with shellfish sauce. Housed in a converted former bank with interiors designed by one of the proprietors, the project emphasizes immediate access to ingredients—seaweed, herbs, flowers, roots and nearby sardines—and close working relationships with local producers and fishermen." - James Hansen
Fitzroy is a well-regarded restaurant set up in an old bank in the pretty port town of Fowey pronounced Foy 🙄
Soak up the vibe; posho in deck shoes, tied sweater worn over shoulders, second homer 🤦
£140 for an early dinner for 2 with 1 x glass of wine. We left feeling the mucho dinero experience was OK. Could have eaten the other half of what was a small lobster.

I managed to get a dinner reservation here and it was the perfect choice for us. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was delicious.
We had the cod roe, courgette, lobster and chicken followed by baked custard and chocolate cake.
The venue is small and makes for a great atmosphere and the open kitchen helps too, it’s been done really well.
Our only slight negative was that the menu was fairly limited and although it was all really tasty (probably as a result of not over extending to a convoluted menu) it would have been nice for the one meat option to have been something other than chicken. I think that’s just the luck of the draw though as the menu is changed daily, which is also really unique and interesting.
There were also no diet or sugar free soft drinks (apart from water) and one choice of beer (but it was a nice one apparently!)
Regardless, would definitely recommend.

What a great place! We had half lobster with new potatoes, yum! The lamb was great, too! Service was perfect. We were upstairs and had a great view of the restaurant and kitchen, great to see the chefs at work. If you’re in Fowey, and want a funky atmosphere and amazing food, come here! 😊

Wow - A real hidden gem
Stumbled across this place last weekend. Amazing quality food, super friendly staff, great decor and ambience. Yes it's chilly (might be interesting in the winter) but heh, that's a small price for the amazing food and location / staff. Will definitely return. A must go to place on the south coast.
