The Best Restaurants and Bars in Portland’s Hollywood Neighborhood | Eater Portland

"Portland is no stranger to Francophile bakeries and cafes, and Fleur De Lis has held down this critical role for Hollywood since 2005. Founded by baker Greg Mistell, the heart of Fleur De Lis is its bread made with the choicest flours and expertly baked with crisp, chewy crusts. Those breads — including baguettes, Parisiennes, and levain — elevate the cafe’s breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The pastries are excellent as well, with the croissants ranking among Portland’s best. Fleur De Lis’s large patio and dining room — once the Hollywood’s city library — are open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday." - Nathan Williams

Where to Find the Best Croissants in Portland | Eater Portland

"This sweet Grant Park bakery offers a wide selection of croissants on the sweeter side, but not in a cloying way — baker Greg Mistell shows restraint as he fills folds of laminated dough with pastry cream or frangipane, creating balanced, comforting pastries. Visitors should keep an eye out for seasonal specials like fig and goat cheese." - Michelle Lopez

I can't say enough about how good the food is! We had a scone and blueberry cream pastry, yogurt, veggie omelette, and coffee. The pastry dough was flakey and buttery; soft inside with a crisp crunch on the outside. The scone had great flavor and was a great texture- not dry but solid. I will definitely be going back.

Google
Great cafe and bakery with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. The croissant was perfection. They have a full menu with breakfast and lunch sandwiches, but I just wanted a little croissant treat. They also have a full coffee bar. Would definitely come back to check out the rest of the food options.

Google
I am judging the review over two visits. First time was incredible. The second time they were very busy, waited 40 min for food only to have the order all screwed up. They did refund because it would take to long to correct it. Will give them another chance, because when it is good, its amazing.

Google
Great cafe with awesome outdoor seating and lots of space inside as well. The tart I tried was amazing. The coffee was very good and made with skill. They did not have any sugar free options but did have dairy free. The Staff was super friendly as well. I really enjoyed the space.

Google
This is a welcoming space to gather, gab, and have a laugh. Ample seating, delicious pastries, lots of light through the many windows. It's a good place to sit and read, have a date, or enjoy brunch with friends. The employees are sweet and helpful. Coffee and food was delicious (veggie omelette and ham and gruyere on baguette). Oh, and nice clean bathrooms! Check it out! Have a seat, connect with your community. :)

Google
This is a beautiful basket and café in s former library building with a large front patio and a spacious indoor setting. I noticed on my most recent visit that the staff were new due to the quality of service. Hopefully they will get up to speed soon.

Google
The sun was shining. It was a brisk early afternoon so we enjoyed pastries and cappuccinos on the front patio. Service was great, blueberry croissant was super delicious. Would definitely be back.

Google
What a wonderful place! This cafe has a little of everything. We came in for a quick coffee, chatted it up a bit then found ourselves hungry. We decided to get some of the baked goods for an early lunch and it was pretty good. The flavors in my pastry was full and went perfectly with my coffee. The shop is pretty spread out, so you can have a conversation at a comfortable tone. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cafe to my family and friends!

Yelp
visited here for a brief break before a documentary film showing. My cardamom latte was delicious, as was my almond ring. The almond pastry was almost like biscotti and tasted great when dipped in my coffee. The patio is a lovely place to relax, especially in the summer. I noticed lots of locals walking out with bread so it must be good!

Yelp
The Good, The Bad, and The Yummy! My first visit to Fleur de Lis. I went searching for a place with good food where I could also spend some time writing. I went to the Hancock Street location. THE GOOD: The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. Young, but helpful, efficient, and always with a smile. Great start. The food is good. I ordered a ham & cheese croissant, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a cappuccino. My friend had coffee and a ham & cheese croissant. The coffee and cappuccino were good. Because I was taking up space for a while, I also ordered lunch and coffee later on. THE BAD: The croissants were cold. We were told that they just came out fresh (we'd arrived just when they opened at 8am), so we were a little surprised that the ham inside was ice-cold. But they were accommodating and heated them up. However, I'm not a fan of microwaved baked goods, so it was a little disappointing. The other bad was that it was cold inside the place. I couldn't stay as long as I'd hoped, because my fingers and face were just too cold. Shame, because it's a nice venue with free wifi. THE YUMMY: Except for the slight mishap with the croissant, which was good, all the food was great. My breakfast was good, then I ordered a ham and Gruyere sandwich followed by a lemon tart, all delicious. Overall, I recommend this place (if they could turn up the heat a little). I will be back. I think price wise it was reasonable and easy to get to. They have a good selection of pastries and their other food options looked good too. Not a fancy menu, but simple and good.

Yelp
Beautifully lit with large natural light from Floor to ceiling windows. Fresh baked quality breads and pastries with simple ingridents. Friendly staff and good espresso.
google avatar

Jadyn N.

Yelp
This cafe is big and had a lot of seating and tables. They also had some booths and outdoor seatting. The coffee was pretty good. The food and bake goods was ok. They did have a large selections of bake goods and breakfast sandwhiches.

Yelp
In the entirety of Portland, I have never been blessed with such a delectable latte before. To truly experience elyesium- to the degree that one could in this temporal world, this is the superlative closest way. Service was splendid, the joyous nature of the delightful little booths; truly one of the best cafes.

Yelp
Best place for a good time to talk and catch up with some wonderful friends and I love the ambiance!

Yelp
I've been to this area and must've driven past this place so many times without even realizing what it was and that it was here. I am grateful to Nico for introducing me to it! This is primarily a breakfast and lunch place, with a heavy emphasis on baked goods. Their hours are typically 8am-3pm. It's a great place for a morning coffee meeting, busy but not too loud, different options for eating and drinking for everyone's tastes. The decor feels a little bit old-school, but the large windows make it a light and bright place to hang out. (Fun fact, this location used to be the local library!) I haven't tried the full range of their menu. But I can say the coffee was good, I'm not sure what roaster they use. The breakfast sandwich was quite good, with a well-made bread being the highlight. I'd be happy to go back to try more of their pastries and have some "working from Fleur de Lis" days.
google avatar

Yelp
First time back in a very long time. Both front-line staff were very personable and polite. The goodie offerings are still quality. However, big BOO for only offering paper cups. There's something about drinking good espresso out of a ceramic cup, but I guess they've moved to the Starbucks model.

ronald m.

Yelp
I used to eat here pre pandemic and the food was average. But the avo-veggie omelet I had this morning was awful. It came LOADED with red bell pepper....nobody wants that much bell pepper overpowering their food....and very little avocado. And the potatoes were way over seasoned as well with, I think, smoked paprika or some such spice. The service is perfunctory and bland. The room is nice with all the windows. Coffee was eh, but I find that so at most places. Go for the pastries and pleasant sun filled room, but skip anything that requires cooking.
google avatar

Ellie S.

Yelp
BEST CAFE EVER. yummy yum yum in my tummy tum tum. I have never been disappointed with my typical chai latte and pastry order. My friends on this fine app would also agree with these statements.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
After a few more visits, I'm upgrading to 5 stars. The pastry selection and quality is impressive, especially during the Pandemic. I'm amazed that they are able to churn out so many varieties of both sweet and savory croissants, pastries, muffins and breads. There is no way I can leave without buying one...ok maybe three to take home! Highly recommend the almond croissant, so buttery and flaky with a delicious not too sweet almond cream inside and of course crisp baked almonds on too. With a cup of coffee, this is Heaven! The fig and goat cheese croissant is also stellar, the slightly sweetened goat cheese a nice surprise. If you are seeking to one up the chocolate croissant game, go for their twice baked Nutella croissant for an OMG this is amazing treat. They always have delicious breakfast sandwiches, salads and soups in the menu plus lunch sandwiches. Served in their breads and baguettes, you just can't go wrong. On a rainy day, get the half sandwich and cup of soup for that comfort food goodness. Lots of seating inside with tables distanced. There are always people here as Fleur de Lis is definitely a star in this NE community, my previous neighborhood. Regulars frequent regularly!!! But it's just as inviting for those visiting from other neighborhoods. The coffee is delicious, I typically go for a latte to enjoy with my breakfast sandwich. Service is friendly; they definitely take pride in the preparing the display of pastries and in delighting customers. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or coffee. Pick up some baguettes, the fig bread, a loaf of banana bread with chocolate chips and hazelnuts, croissants, cinnamon buns, a slice of chocolate bumpy cake (think of a ding ding but sliced) or any of the amazing treats to go!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent latte and almond croissant, enjoyed at a table near the large windows which let in lots of light; critical on a typical rainy gray day. The Bacon breakfast Sandwich was a disappointment with a measly amount of bacon that didn't taste freshly sizzled, and sub par cheddar that didn't have enough flavor.

Rebecca Z.

Yelp
The food is delicious, but the people who work there seem like they are in hell. Must be getting paid less than they want. There is always a line of old people who are indecisive which could drive anyone crazy.

Hutch H.

Yelp
A wonderful little cafe. Went there to chat with family, and it was a perfect option for a sunny day. They serve breakfast during lunch time, which worked out perfectly. Had a tasty omelette, and the roasted potatoes were excellent. Also enjoyed an espresso, another hallmark of a good place for a light meal. I didn't sample any of the baked goods, but they all looked appealing. And they apparently were at the old the location of the library, because the book return slot was still there out front and marked with the original sign. That added to the charm for me. I wouldn't mind coming back. Thanks for the friendly service, and not shooing us away at an outside table when you were closing up! Obviously, I was comfortable enough to linger after finishing brunch.

Yelp
My wife and I recently bought a home in Portland, in the Grant Park area. We love good baguettes, but we've never found one that even comes close to matching those you'll find in every boulangerie in Paris. So, we were excited to try Ken's Artisan Bakery, and the baguette was very good - but still not up to Paris standard. Grand Central - great loaves, but their baguettes are ho-hum. So, we decided to try Fleur de Lis, which is closer than Ken's (and the street parking is easier). Simply put, they make the best baguettes I have EVER had in the USA. Just be aware that they are usually not available until around 9AM (1 hour after they open). Their other breads and great, too. I don't much like scones, but my wife tells me that the ones here are marvelous. We've eaten breakfast & lunch here a few times. Reliably very good.

Linda S.

Yelp
I purchased a loaf of rye bread which I had done many times before. Always loved it for a great ham sandwich. This time, 12/16/23, the flavor and texture were great, but the loaf was dinky, 2 1/2" high at the top point. Terrible for a sandwich, no "chew" at all. Theirs used to be the best in town.

Yelp
One of the best pastry and coffee places in NE Portland. Large open plan in the former Hollywood Library building. Counter service witb free refills. The pastry selection is wide and delicious. My only complaint would be that the prices are a little high, but I'm old so everything seems high.

Yelp
This neighborhood spot is perfect for meeting with friends and catching up over a cup and a nosh. On any morning you'll see tables of 3, 5, 7 neighborhood folks. It tends toward the older crowd, with not too many trendy types. Families with thier dog(s) can be seen on the patio in all weather. I'd say the menu breakfast food is okay. What I come for is the stellar pastry case. Walnut goat cheese danish, all the scones, almond croissants, molasses cookies, you name it! They make all the usual coffee drinks and have non dairy options. Tea? No problem. This is a bakery and the bread looks great, so the sandwiches on the lunch menu are probably worth trying. I just havent had a chance yet. The service here is very good. They are kind and considerate. I saw someone carry a box of pastries out for a customer today. I love those personal touches. I'll post more pastry photos next time I go.

Yelp
Only the best croissants in the entire city of Portland! These aren't made days ahead... oh no. They're made just hours before the café opens. Plus look no further for Babka whether it be cinnamon or chocolate. Actually everything I've had here from breakfast to lunch is superb. As a resident of this neighborhood (just blocks from Fleur de lis) the hx of this location gives me much pride. I love it when I walk in and they know me.
google avatar

Leah F.

Yelp
the coffee is mediocre, the wifi doesn't work well, but there's so much space to sit and the people watching is great (many old people in various groups and configurations). it is a great place to go if you want to sit for a long time without being bothered or feel like you're hogging one of three tables, and if you want a slightly stale croissant!

David M.

Yelp
I recently moved to Portland, from Chicago and I am still looking for a local bakery and a place to grab something to eat. I stumbled upon this restaurant/bakery and I am so glad I did - this place is great. Even though it was very busy, I was greeted at the counter by Steven - what a great representative for this place - he made eye contact, greeted me with a smile, and was more than happy to explain about ordering, seating, etc. I was impressed with Steven's professional demeanor and making me feel like a valued customer. The food was very good and it arrived quickly. I had the spinach and cheese omelet and I would get it again - although there are multiple options - vegan, vegetarian, etc. Both the bakery and food are popular - it was busy the entire time I was in the restaurant. Try this place-it is worth it!

Yelp
ThIs Cafe is a lovely place in what was the Hollywood library. I have fond memories of taking my kids to the library there. The pastries are absolutely delicious. Probably the best I have had in a restaurant. The raspberry/ blackberry Danish was so flaky and buttery. I also took home a cinnamon roll and chocolate chip shortbread cookie. Both were delicious. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the mocha. The espresso wasn't very bold and it had cinnamon! Never had a regular mocha with cinnamon. I ended up tossing it. Good thing I don't live in Portland anymore because I would be tempted to visit every day.
google avatar

Yelp
Good and spicy tomato soup w crunchy bread. Nice lighting and areas to sit. Good place to get work done
google avatar

Ellen F.

Yelp
It's okay! The pastries are pretty good. The lattes are fine. The menu items are disappointing. The customer service is hit-or-miss (more miss than hit lately, unfortunately). In a pinch, it'll do, but it's not worth traveling for. Remember to bring your mask, they still require them.
google avatar

Richard T.

Yelp
I used to enjoy this place, but since the pandemic, not so much. Went a few times last year during the height of the lockdown, and they had switched to serving all of their food in takeout containers with plastic utensils and condiments only upon request. That was fairly reasonable, but there was still a much better option down the road at La Provence, Where they maintained limited indoor seating and still used plates and silverware with the food service. Fast forward to today when most restrictions have been lifted.... You would never know it at fleur-de-lis because they are STILL serving everything in takeout containers with plastic utensils, with condiments only upon request. OY! From now on my choice will always be La Provence down the road.

Yelp
Un charmant café. Spacious and full of natural light it was easy to secure a table at 9:30 as me and my parents went for breakfast. They have a case full of the most beautiful pastries; pain au chocolate, flaky croissants, scones, muffins and so on. All looked tempting.. I live for eggs Benedict and the crab Benedict was superb. Rather than serve it on English muffins as usual they served it on crab cakes. I could have died it was so good. I don't think they always serve this as it was written on the specials board so I don't know if I'll be back as it is pretty far from my place. But best Benedict ever. Review #1 2020

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in for our first lunch here. Just what we wanted! A lot of seating, both inside and outside. The service was polite and prompt. We enjoyed their vegan tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and quiche with veggies & goat cheese. Go and enjoy!

Yelp
This is the ideal neighborhood coffee shop and bakery. Nice atmosphere, good food and beverages, and a convenient location in the heart of downtown Hollywood. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Hollywood public library and a whole host of other businesses, many of which are independently owned. Fleur de Lis is perfect for when your main purpose for entering a coffee shop or bakery is to eat or drink or talk to friends and family. There is free WiFi, but not a whole lot of electrical outlets, so just be warned, if you are going to bring a laptop or tablet with you for some serious work, try to come with a full battery, as you may not be able to find an available outlet where you can recharge your device when it runs low. That's okay, though. Coffee shops with too many outlets attract too many people who linger for too long, and that means fewer available seats for customers who have just walked in the door. What I like about Fleur De Lis is that it has a lively vibe with a lot of people engaged in conversation. It's a different vibe from the kind of coffee shop where 90% of the people are sitting at a table, typing away on a laptop in silence. Don't get me wrong, I like that kind of coffee shop too, and I've been known to seek it out when I want to use my laptop somewhere other than home. It's just a very different business model with a different feel. Therefore it attracts a different kind of customer. I've never been to Europe, but Fleur de Lis is how I imagine a typical European cafe--welcoming, relaxing, and sociable. You come here when you want to relax and indulge your tastebuds, not when you want to telecommute.

Yelp
The most amazing breakfast sandwiches! I'm In love ! I could easily spend all my money here and be happy doing so lol! The pastries were amazing my kids are picky and so is the fiancé and everyone was asking for more! The coffee was great I got a vanilla cappuccino/latte and I'm very happy with everything. If I lived nearby this would be my daily morning stop. FYI get the croissant breakfast sandwich my fav!

Yelp
Just moved to Portland and walked around my neighborhood to end up at this cute little bakery. It seems like a popular spot with fresh delicious pastries made. They also serve hot plates for both breakfast and lunch. They do have brunch specials too. Location: not to hard to find. Parking is on the street. Service: order up front, get a number, and take a seat. They'll deliver the food up to you ;) one thing that is new to me that's never happened before is cleaning up your table. Meaning, you take your dishes and place them in the bins up front. This is pretty genius esp when it's busy and there aren't much staff, tables clear up much faster. Food: we got brunch- biscuit and Gravy and the Denver omelette. Both were delicious and filling. The biscuits were fluffy and soft- paired with the gravy, it was even better.

Emily C.

Yelp
This is my favorite local neighborhood cafe--personable service and a cute location in the old Hollywood Library building. Take your coffee to go & stroll through Grant Park, or stay and enjoy some Saturday morning live music! Wait times can be long when they're busy. Good vegetarian options, not great if you're vegan or gluten free.

T C.

Yelp
Breath of fresh air in a fast food world. The staff was kind and appeared to like being there. In the time we were there, there were many customers that you could tell were repeat customers. The staff knew their names and were familiar with orders. Wonderful fresh baked goods. Relaxing place to be.
google avatar

Yelp
Every single pastry at this cafe rocks! We loved coming here for the last two weeks as we were in Portland for our training. The coffee is great too! I especially loved their crepes and blueberry custard pastry. Their staff are really friendly and Savannah made the effort to remember my name every morning! Love this place lots and sad that we are flying back home and won't get to eat here anymore.

Yelp
One star for the friendly customer service. I ordered one of the specials -- tofu banh mi. Except they spelled it "bahn mi". Fail. This place should never try to make this Vietnamese dish again. If you want to get good banh mi, go to Best Baguette or make your own. The tofu was on the drier side and the fillings left more to be desire. This banh mi tasted nothing like it's supposed to! I could barely eat my side salad because I didn't like the vinaigrette dressing. $10 wasted. You can usually get a delicious banh mi elsewhere, especially a vegetarian one, for no more than $5. I tried a croissant because a couple Yelpers said this place had the "best croissants in Portland". Wrong! It was $2.25 and was nothing to write home about. La Provence remains the winner of best croissants. For just a dollar more, you get a much more fresh, fluffy, buttery, tasty croissant that comes with excellent Bree cheese and fresh jelly. The croissant here at Fleur de Lis pales in comparison. Bad food. Bus your own tables. No toilet seat covers in the women's restroom. Street parking only is lame. I will not be coming here again.

Yelp
Fleur de Lis is the sort of place that offers a bit of everything. From coffee to fresh made bread, to darn good French fries and beer - Fleur de Lis Bakery has it all. The space is large and offers a convenient area for group meetings or a leisurely afternoon working at a laptop at a shared table. The staff are all very friendly and helpful - checking in to make sure everything is okay and even clearing plates. This is a "hidden gem" kind of place that can be easily overlooked in the crowded landscape of Portland coffee shops. It shouldn't be. It's good. And, if you're in the Hollywood neighborhood - this is the go-to spot for a cafe that has a bit of everything . . . all with a friendly smile.

Yelp
Place is very cute but service from the waiters was rude, my friend just came from Florida where she hasn't worn a mask didn't grab one to bring here and the waiters gave attitude and were annoyed when she said she needed one, never seen this kind of service from any shop or restaurant in Portland very disappointing.

Yelp
You know how sometimes you eat a huge brunch and and are stuffed but then a couple hours later you're craving something sweet? Is that just me? Anyway, that happened to me today. On my way to catch a silent flick at the Hollywood I thought I'd step in and grab a lil somethin' to satisfy my sweet tooth. Not to toot my own horn, but that was a smart move. I decided to step outside of normal pastry-ordering box and go for a palmier. Essentially butter, caramelized sugar, and pastry dough. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside...it was all kinds of perfect. It reminded me of a kouign Amman but with more crisp edges. I loved it! The crowd was lively at 1pm on a Saturday. There are at least 20 tables inside, and only a couple free ones. I got the impression that's always how it is. Staff was friendly, pastry was delicious. If you're in the area, stop on in. I need to come back to try the scones, danishes, and brownies...all of which looked better than most.

Fusun Y.

Yelp
We were fooled by the name given to this place so we thought we would be served meals that are pleasant to our palette and that would be the case at any French bakery. Everything we had (sandwich, soup, salad) were disappointing and were much lower than our expectations. We did not try their pastries. Perhaps, we should have. If I were the owners of this bakery, I would definitely stop serving anything other than bread and pastries. We will stick with Little American T Bakery, Tabor Bread and Ken's Artisan Bakery which are all phenomenal and you get your money's worth.

Yelp
Very popular place in a great location with ample indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor area enclosed by a high metal grate. What's best here seems to be the bread, so good that Laurelhurst Market uses it for their sandwiches. Our favorites are the multigrain and the ciabatta. Get them while you can because bread tends to sell out. The pastry -- at least the ones we've tried -- is less impressive. Croissants less light and flaky than bready. Again, great location, lovely bread.

Jung K.

Yelp
This review pertains to the Hollywood Farmers Market stand. I know I was a few minutes early and you were still setting up, thanks for answering my initial questions, but making me stand there and ignoring me afterwards was awkward. In the future just tell me your still in the process of setting up and will be happy to help me when you officially open for business, I don't think what happened was intentional, but I think being friendly, unambiguous, and informative makes things easier for the customer as well as yourselves. That being said, the pastries are ok, not great, not bad. There aren't that many other pastry options at Hollywood farmers market (Tabor bread is great, but sourdough croissants are a bit too tangy for my kiddos) for the kiddos. My 2 cents FWIW, as always try it and form your own opinion.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I orders perhaps the simplest sandwich on the menu today. Doesn't require being heated or anything. Has four ingredients Took 15 minutes to get while others behind me got their food before me. And then there was a scant amount of the two main ingredients on said sandwich.

Yelp
I have been searching for the best rye bread in Portland and Seattle for years, one that could measure up to real New York rye bread. I am happy to announce I have finally found it right here at Fleur De Lis. The crust is done to perfection and the addition of sea salt on the crust just takes the bread over the top. Sure, the pastries are great, the chicken salad just right, but I cannot get past that heavenly rye!

Yelp
Cupcakes were okay, that's all The space is nice and cozy too but they close at 4pm. Too early for us

Yelp
What a lovely little bakery. From the second I walked in I knew I was going to be in love and want to come back. The pastry case is amazing- and this is where they really shine ...incredible croissants (we got the almond and blueberry danish). I can't wait to keep coming until I've tried everything! They also serve coffee and tea from jasmine pearl! Lovely space, there was lovely music playing which made our morning feel so nice! I will say there were a couple of downsides for me. One was that we got the prosciutto sandwich and there was hardly and prosciutto; a bit disappointing for the value of the sandwich. The other was that our actual food items from the menu were a bit underwhelming, but I think that's because Portland sets the bar pretty high. Overall a great place to come for breakfast or brunch and you absolutely can not pass up their pastry case!

Yelp
This place sucks. 2nd time in a row where on Postmates it says for 30 minutes "preparing your order" then they just cancel on you claiming "too busy"
google avatar

Parker S.

Yelp
This place is great! The people were really nice, beautiful outdoor seating. Indoor seating as well, but closed at the moment. Menu was pretty straight forward. They were out of pastries but at noon, that's understandable. Delicious sausage biscuit and BLT. Coffee was pretty good as well! We'll be back for sure. Maybe even the new 'spot'.

Yelp
Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. Well, this was my second breakfast of the day, but who's counting? Fleur De Lis was in the immediate area to the shop I was heading to later (when it opened) and I was basically relaxing and killing time, so another breakfast would do it for me. A quick Yelp search and a five minute walk got me here. As soon as you walk in, the smells of coffee and fresh pastries, and bread hit you and that's a great thing to want, as apposed to smelling rotten tuna in the morning. So you understand where I'm coming from. Anyways, it's a rather large place, or at least the high ceilings make it appear so. Two women at the counter, one making coffee and the other handling the pastries. I browsed around and saw some rather large cinnamon buns and that's what I went for. I was surprised they didn't offer to heat it up, and I thought about asking the woman, but whatever. I also got a 12oz hot chocolate, as I am not a coffee drinker. I know, it's sacrilegious in this town that I don't drink coffee. All I know, is that their version of a 12oz hot chocolate is pretty darn big. The photo I took doesn't do it justice. It was also good and not too hot. In other words, it didn't burn the roof of my mouth when I took a sip. Bonus points on that and the cool leaf design with the cream on top. The cinnamon bun was good, but I think it would have been even better heated up. My fault. Good place, good prices and when in Hollywood it's a great breakfast option. Enjoy.

Yelp
Pretty good, but I've had better. Food was tasty, yet felt overpriced, it was $48 for three of us to get breakfast & coffee. The staff was friendly but I felt an underlying annoyance from them. This might be a non-issue but there's no fountain drinks, I like a soda when I go out, and a can isn't a realistic option imo. Also there's stone or something atop the tables, it fits the look but it just means my phone gets scratched and I'm more likely to break the ceramic, which felt pretty heavy when I carried my coffee. Again, it's not a bad place, if I was in school again I would maybe come here for homework, but the cafe by the theater is much better overall.

Yelp
This review is for their croissants... Super buttery and flaky and reasonably priced. Some of the best in town (the spinach one... it's amazing). I'm a big fan of the spinach and ricotta one they do. The ham and cheese is good, but a little oily/greasy. Ask for these ones heated up. The almond croissant is good - the filling tastes strongly of almond extract, but not overly sweet which I appreciate. The space itself is open, airy. They had live music. Not the nicest front wait staff, but not incredibly rude either.

Yelp
I appreciate the good products they bake. The price is a little high and the waitress could be a little more friendly.
