"Emmanuel Renaut fell in love with Haute Savoie as a child, long before achieving his Meilleur Ouvrier de France title, and his predilection for Alpine produce is deeply ingrained (pike, char and whitefish from Lake Geneva, mushrooms and wild herbs, mountain cheeses). At times he has fun subverting the regional cooking that is expected of him – a case in point being his superb langoustines marinated in citron, caviar with zesty grapefruit and gentian roots. Plants are also given an increasingly important role in his cuisine. An enchanting high-altitude chalet at the summit of fine dining." - Michelin Inspector

"It wasn’t until the late 1990s that Megève landed on the destination dining map, mostly thanks to Emmanuel Renaut, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France and chef at three-Michelin-starred Flocons de Sel. Renaut’s nature-driven cooking paved the way for rising culinary stars and inspired established, award-winning chefs to set up operations in and around Megève." - Lindsey Tramuta

Firstly, thank you to Kristine, Emmanuel and Gwen for making our 6 days at Flocon beyond compare. |If you are looking for amazing hospitality without the pretense, there's probably no better place than Flocons. It's small and private but the Spa, service excellence and epicurean kitchen mean you never feel like there's a lack of amenities. |It's location is a mile or two out of Megeve, but the Range Rover courtesy car is always available to take you in or out of town.|We stayed in the Mazots which felt like living in your own private Alpine chalet with spectacular views down to Megeve. Everything is designed to blend into the environment.|Many special moments, for example we bumped into Emmanuel one day who suggested he 'cooks something for us in the kitchen...nothing special' We ended up at the Chef's Table in his Michelin 3 star restaurant with him serving us a range of dishes including the best souffle we've ever tasted!

I visited the restaurant and had a rather mixed experience. The staff were extremely friendly and all spoke good English. We were first led into the upstairs lounge for a drink. The walls were scattered with Michelin signs and decorated in a cozy way, alluding to the authentic nature of the establishment. The dinner took place downstairs and consisted of seven savoury courses and two deserts. The food was imaginative and the presentation was compelling, with dishes oftentimes being "finished" at the table. However, my main complain is the price tag. At over 1,000 EUR for two people, this seemed like a stretch. Certainly, when going to places like these, few are on a budget, but having visited other three-star Michelin restaurants, this one unfortunately left me wishing for more. The selection of the alcoholic beverages is quite fascinating, and we received a copy of the menu at the end of the night, which was a pleasant touch. I would only recommend dining here if you are a true guru and can appreciate the restaurant's long history and the chef's creativity as opposed to somebody coming and expecting a posh dinner experience.

Absolute perfection. A great little apartment close to town and the service was ON POINT. I definitely recommend the breakfast basket perfectly delivered in a cute basket each morning with freshly squeezed juice. We will be back!

Hi we were lucky enough to stay in the cosy apartment above the bistro and cave in the centre of Megeve Village. It was such a lucky find! Cosy, with a lovely fireplace and minutes from the Chamois gondola. The Flocons de Sel hotel couldn' t have been more helpful, great communication and nothing was too much trouble. The bistro even helped us out with some fresh garlic and an extension lead when we had friends over for a raclette. The only thing that could have made it better were a few extra items in the apartment. A broom, some more kitchen utensils etc. and also a guide to how to use the oven? If there is anyway of adding a toilet to the downstairs bathroom that would make it perfect. Also it would be helpful if it was more clear that the 2nd bedroom is only suitable for under 12's. Or if the trundle was replaced with a full sized single bed. Wasn't a problem for us as the sofa bed in the living room was super comfy. Also I think the TV should be a smart TV so we could cast movies etc as sometimes a family after a long day skiing may want to just snuggle up and watch a movie. A TV in the master bedroom would also be great. Like I said I loved this place, these would just make it even better!

We had a fantastic stay at Flocons de Sel. We have nothing but great reviews.||The Superior room is spacious and has a beautiful chalet-like design. The bed is comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was strong (not always available even at 5-star hotels). The fireplace is a great add to the room and wood was always refilled when the room was cleaned. ||The lobby area, which was just outside our room, is spacious, beautifully decorated. and a great place to have pre- and post-dinner drinks next to a big fireplace. The lobby area felt like a living room extension to our room.||Quality of the food and the service at the restaurant is also great. We were even able to get room service one night and eat it in the lobby area which also has tables. It felt like a private a dinner experience. ||The indoor pool is a great place to relax after a day of skiing. The pool has a comfortable water temperature and convenient underground access from the main hotel lobby. You don’t have to step outside in the cold to get to the pool from your room.||While the hotel is located outside of Megeve village (5-10min drive), it made our stay feel more like an alpine and relaxing experience. The hotel also offers shuttle to/from Megeve downtown (in a nice Audi Quattro e-tron) which is a very convenient service for going to dinner in town.||Finally, the hotel staff was professional, very friendly and helpful. We had everything taken care of (ski passes, ski rentals, dinner reservations in town, etc.). With only 6 rooms in the hotel, there are more staff than guests in the hotel. It truly felt like we were special guests.||Overall, the quality of our stay was excellent. We would definitely come back!

This is a delightful place in stunning surroundings. Impeccable service at the well-appointed and comfortable hotel. The Eggs Benedict at breakfast were by some margin the best I have ever had. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open and the only gripe was the service at the bistro in town where the service was disappointing: unfriendly and very slow (3 hours is a long time in a bistro with eternal waits between finishing each course and being attended to). The food was superb but as we were having a belated intimate meal to celebrate my daughter’s 18th it was not as memorable as hoped.||The spa treatments at the hotel are excellent and we greatly enjoyed the Nordic Bath. The rooms are very comfortable indeed and we much appreciated the small touches on arrival as well as the consistently outstanding service from the staff at the hotel. ||||Many thanks for a wonderful short break.

Yelp
A real treat. Everything about our meal was sublime. The prix fixe lunch menu was excellent & compared to the prices charged in Hong Kong was very good value. Every dish was well presented & explained to us by a different member of staff. They also had options for children & our daughter was asked to go to the kitchen to discuss what she would like for lunch with the chef. As you can imagine the cheese trolley was exceptional. The service was faultless & it seems everyone had a quick chat with Mr Reanut after their meal. We will be back.

Yelp
This restaurant has been awarded 2 stars in the Michelin Guide, so expectations were high among our group. We were given a prix fixe menu of several courses. There were so many different courses that I will try to highlight the best or most surprising. A pea soup with a pea puree, a pea consomme, and actual peas. Interesting presentation, and very pea-y. (I like that word, ha ha) A fish mousse with a thyme cream sauce. This one was very simply presented and unadorned with any color or texture whatsoever. For a chef to make something so plain in these times shows either laziness and unimaginativeness, or it shows guts. In this case it was guts. This dish was so aromatic and flavorful, and the texture was fantastic. Another soup with girolle mushroome and a foie gras cream. The fois gras was not overpowering, quite subtle. A tomato "tartare" made to look like beef tartare, with anise flavor and microgreens, and also a frozen slab of tomato water on top, which you busted through with your fork to get at the lovely tomato below. It was fantastic and quite inventive. The obligatory cheese course, followed by 3 different desserts, randomly presented to different people at the table. So of course we had to share. We simply passed our plates to the right. All were great, one was a bit fruity without much variety, but still very good. Then the mignardises came. Oh my. Explode-in-your-mouth cylinders of chocolate with liquors inside. Wow. Other jelly-like things, too many different things to remember! Our wine was divine, the service impeccable. At times there were 4 or 5 people attending to us. (we were a party of 10) I highly recommend this restaurant if you ever get a chance to be in the French Alps!

Yelp
What a fantastic place. 3 Michelin Starts and yet really laid back, really nice staff and one of the best meals you will ever enjoy. The Chef and his wife make you feel truly at home in their restaurant and small hotel. The sommelier will bring you some fantastic regional wines that go excellently with the food. This was our second time there and this time we stayed in one of the junior suites with a view of the mountains to die for. In all well worth the trip and very highly recommended.
