"Housed in the former Back in the Day Bakery, this modern supper club from the Farm Hospitality Group offers a la carte options or a three-course blind chef tasting for only $55. By day, however, the quaint space operates as a counter-service bakery with breakfast sandwiches on fresh bread or biscuits, espresso drinks, and pastries that taste as good as they look." - Colleen McNally Arnett

Savannah Cafe Takes Over the Former Back in the Day Bakery Space | Eater Carolinas

"Set to open this spring in the Starland District at 2403 Bull Street, Flora and Fauna will take over the recently closed and well-loved Back in the Day Bakery. During the day it will serve as a neighborhood bakery and coffee house offering French-inspired fresh bread, baked goods, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, espresso, and counter-service lunch, and it will feature “Cheryl’s Biscuits” on the menu to honor the original bakery and its owners. In the evening it will operate as a full-service, prix-fixe supper club with a three-course, seasonally rotating menu from executive chef Annie Coleman and chef de cuisine Tyler Kenny, paired with signature cocktails and wines by the glass. Farm Hospitality partner Brandon Carter and Coleman hope it becomes a neighborhood gathering space as the local food and beverage scene evolves, and Flora and Fauna will also provide baked goods for its shop and all Farm Hospitality restaurants; hours will initially be Wednesday through Monday from 7 a.m. to post-lunch with expanded dinner hours planned within the first few months." - Barbara Skidmore

Dining with Dirk: Saturday Morning Edition Popped out for a coffee, Sammie, and a bowl of goodness! Today’s star — a fried chicken sammie with pimento cheese, a sprinkle of Cajun sparkle, and a few crisp red onion rings. It came paired with a creamy tomato soup that hit all the right notes. This place was buzzing with weekend energy — the scent of fresh pastries wrapped around the chatter of hungry folks. The biscuit was warm, golden brown, and perfectly flaky. The Sammie overall? A treasure trove of deliciousness. Not to be outdone, the creamy tomato soup stepped up with its velvety texture, topped with fresh chives and a subtle peppery finish. Served at just the right sipping temperature, it made for the perfect cozy companion. Breakfast flavors collide with winter comfort, definitely worth a pop in! — at Flora and Fauna.

Great evening for an anniversary dinner. Very warm and welcoming environment. The food is fantastic and just really tasty. The servers live what they do and you get a wonderful dinning experience because of it. Well be back!

Flora and Fauna was a highlight of our time in Savannah. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu, and every course was thoughtful, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. It felt intentional and creative without ever being pretentious. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the evening special. I have a dairy allergy, and they went far beyond simply accommodating it. The team and kitchen were proactive, knowledgeable, and creative, ensuring I never felt limited. Several dishes were thoughtfully adapted without sacrificing quality or experience. I highly recommend the chef’s tasting menu next time you visit Flora and Fauna!

We stumbled upon Flora and Fauna walking from The Isetta Inn. The atmosphere is cozy, great animal vibes, pink & teal colors a plenty, and delicious food. We loved their biscuits & gravy. They had so many delicious pastries, it was difficult to choose. We recommend you run, don't walk, and grab yourself breakfast or brunch at this local gem.

We had an excellent experience at brunch. The biscuits are perfect; lots of layers that melt in your mouth so we had to get a batch to go. The grits were seasoned just right, which is hard to find. The mushroom conserve sandwich was delicious and the baguette it came on had a great crust. The staff were all very friendly and Drewdicris came out to check on us. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

This place is in the outskirts of DT Savannah. Super cute and lots of natural lighting. We came for lunch and I had my eyes set on the Smoked BLT because ya girl loves milk bread. The girls at the counter were friendly and answered any questions we had and made a killer cortado. We started off with a couple baked goods. Lemon glazed croissant. It had this amazing texture of crispy outer meets moist and soft inner. I’m not a huge lemon pasty person but this was delightful. Then we had this thick layered biscuit that they make in house as well. Buttery and crispy goodness that was accompanied by some jam and butter. My friend got the gazpacho which I found to be very flavorful and refreshing. I was eager to try my BLT and it was what I expected. If you haven’t had milk bread before you are truly missing out. It’s this fluffy soft but also crispy toasted goodness and when you have that with everything else, it was delicious! I think this is just a wonderful place for lunch! Very interested in their Supper menu and will be back to try!
