The 19 Best Restaurants in Oklahoma City | Eater

"Florence’s has been an institution since 1952, when it opened serving hot dogs — on a “hot dog and a prayer,” founder Florence Jones Kemp once said — in the front room of a two-room apartment. In 2022, the James Beard Foundation gave the restaurant an America’s Classics award. Now in her 90s, Kemp partners with her daughter Victoria to push their legacy forward on a steady diet of fried chicken, candied yams, and braised oxtail. Be sure to save room for fresh-baked rolls and cornbread before supper, and pie for dessert." - Dave Cathey

The service was amazing. Through out the meal servers were consistent with making sure the table had everything we needed. Great atmosphere had some smooth jazz playing in the background and overall all locals seemed happy. The food was delicious as well. I definitely enjoyed the yammed wings Along with the fried chicken and macaroni. The peach cobbler was a little soupy for my liking and had a little too much nutmeg but overall it was all good.

I have no words!!! The food was soooooooo amazing. I apologize that I am just getting to the review. Well done, ladies!!! In my party, I had with me three seasoned women (ages from 70+ to 90). They were impressed and all made happy plates!!! My spiritual mother, one of the seasoned women, never finishes her plates no matter where we dine. However, this time, she ate every bite!!!! KUDOS!!! Ms Florence, keep up the love you administer in every dish while you can!!! Ms Victoria, I know you add love to your dishes as well😃. I know this personally, you informed me that you prepared the dressing. It was sooooo delicious!!!! It was so amazing to experience the mother/daughter food creations. 'Love' covers a multitude...of deliciousness ('I' am including food with that verse-lol)!!!! I/we will most definitely be returning!!! For sure, I will continue to recommend to others that they must stop in to try!!!! God bless you!!!!

The wholesome, delicious, and authentic Southern USA cooking was served with mounds of generosity and warmth when our trio came in for a mid-morning feast. Mary J, our server, welcomed us and directed us to a great little table looking toward the bar. She also walked us through some of the house specialties. We were aware that two years prior, the James Beard foundation made this the first Oklahoma award winner (Chef Andrew Black's Grey Sweater became the second a year later). Well-deserved, even though it took more than 65 years for the world to know that right here in Oklahoma City, Florence Jones was making an indelible print on the culinary world. It's "classic" cuisine, something that needs to be heralded because of the culinary wizardly that sprang from humble beginnings. Although its often referred to as a soul food "joint," we'd prefer calling it an authentic, southern USA style, food-for-the-soul "experience." The ambience is as important as the food. Our table came with representatives from the Middle East, West Africa, and the Mid-West (Chicago). We were first timers, and we were not disappointed. We savored the baked chicken and dressing, grilled tilapia, fried chicken salad, with shareable sides of mac & cheese, collard greens, corn bread, with a bevy of "seasoned" specialties consisting of green beans, more collards, and spinach. We started with a more than generous platter of deep fried chicken livers. This was our only disappointment because we found them far too salty for our tastes. But every other dish was perfectly seasoned, southern style. The portions were quite large, but Mary recommended that we save a little room to share a dish of the famous peach cobbler over a cup of coffee. We did, and yes, we had to have the coffee, because well prepared Southern food is like a sedative, you know. Authenticity is key here. You might be able to find delicious southern food elsewhere, but at Florence's, the decades of experience infuses the foods with a unique element, like aged wine, which you can't simply replicate just anywhere. And then there's the hospitality. The atmosphere is relaxed and the folks are nice. From looking around, you get sense that the patrons are like regulars coming from all walks of life, all parts of the city (and in our case, across the globe). Highly recommended, even if you have visitors wanting a parting taste of real southern hospitality en route to the airport. Easy to get to, easy to park...just plain easy to enjoy!

We were visiting from Houston. We came on a Monday after. This was great ! The food came out quick and fresh. That Lemonade…..I had 2 and another to go. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend. We didn’t even spend $40. Never would get that in HTX !

Absolutely amazing!!! The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all amazing. We had the Friday specials, chicken and dumplings, and the salmon croquettes with collard green, seasoned spinach, buttered corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cornbread and the green beans . By far, the absolute best down-home southern scratch cooking I have had in a VERY long time!!! My wife and I will be back again and again!!!!!

Yum I went in thinking I was going to chicken and dumplings. Unfortunately, that's only served on Friday as a special. I was about to leave and Xavier said gently, "no don't leave. You won't be disappointed by the hot honey chicken special." Xavier was super friendly and helpful. He's the reason I stayed and ordered as he suggested. I chose a few sides . Shortly after ordering Xavier came along with my order in hand, Xavier suggested I check the order. I opened up the box and all the sudden I get excited and cannot wait to sit down and gobble up this deliciousness. Can't wait to try the chicken and dumplings because this was so amazing! The portions were enough to share with another person. Looking forward to my next visit to Florences. Shout out to Xavier for keeping me reined in and ordering the Monday special. Super nice guy and definitely part of the reason I would come back. Of course the food is the major reason! The chicken and sides were so good and flavorful!!!

Google
Everything on my plate was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I truly hope they keep the "promotional bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer." The flavor and texture of these plump and juicy shrimp made them the best bacon-wrapped shrimp I have ever had. I also love that you get 3 side dishes perfectly portioned. Cold beverages served in mason jars add the perfect Southern flair as well.

Google
Great place for southern cuisine. I had the fried chicken with seasoned green beans and candid yams. The yams were on fire, a must try for sure. I followed up on some peach cobbler which awesome and fresh out the oven. There was a bar as well for after hour drinks. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. The place was very clean, and had a nice environment to chill and relax without being rushed. This was my 1st time and will be back for sure.

Yelp
Pork chops were awesome. Atmosphere is a vibe. Will def come back. Wish they were open on the weekends of for Dinner. I'd eat here even more.

Yelp
I've seen so many positive reviews of this restaurant. Since it was a late lunch, there was ample seating. I had no idea I was about to indulge in such an interesting flavor of the well-prepared chicken. I can't recall ever having had yam fried chicken. The sweetness paired with the crunchiness of the skin and the tender meat inside set my tastebuds on alert. Oh the mushroom and sprouts in the crisp salad..so good! There are three vegetables of choice offered with this meal. I selected the seasoned spinach, yams and seasoned green beans. Not to mention all of that included a cornbread roll. Wow! Plenty leftover to take home and share with my family. The service was lovely. I had such a respectful server referring to me as ma'am with each exchange. For me, this is a standout. Reminds me of being in Louisiana. The restaurant music was relaxing and enjoyable. I couldn't have asked for it to be more pleasant. Thanks for a memorable experience. I'll stop in again and bring others.

Yelp
This is food for the soul for sure, the yammed fried chicken is something I will dream about! It was delicious and I've not had fried chicken like this in quite sometime! Definitely planning to go back for the Monday special.

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch a few years ago and the food is delicious. Excellent service and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Perfect for when I am craving the home cooked taste.

Yelp
I've been dining here for well over 30 years! The food is consistently excellent. Never had a bad meal from this restaurant. Over the years, the interior has changed, but the food continues to be excellent! Good service!

Yelp
I popped in yesterday for an early lunch, and I was (no surprise) NOT disappoionted! I had a huge order of luscious neck bones and outstandingly good (collard) greens. My only complaint? They were out of spinach for the seasoned spinach. Meh -- I'm good with that. My lunch partner had the beautiful fried chicken, and I got a bite of his!

Yelp
Finally got to try this restaurant & we will definitely come back. The food was delicious! Our waitress was friendly & service was great. They have an outdoor patio & an inside dining area. My brother in law said it's the best fried chicken he has had, so I need to try it next time.

Yelp
Good southern food. The fried chicken was delicious, but the pieces were tiny, while the chicken breast was dry. A personal preference, but I was not fond of the mac n cheese, very dry and bland. Mashed potatoes appeared to be made in-house, but it was clumpy, and the gravy was thin and lacked that beefy flavor. For $18 a plate, I was still hungry. Decent customer service, but our server could have been friendlier and attentive.

Yelp
My last day in Oklahoma, I decided to stop by. The neighborhood is SUPER SKETCHY, but here was a diamond in the rough. Nicely designed patio, though the inside was a bit cramped. It was just myself and I was almost turned away at the door because they said they were very busy. Ultimately she let me sit at the bar. I ordered the oxtail, they were out. I ordered the chicken liver and gizzards, they were out of those too. I ended up ordering the chicken and dumplings with spinach, cabbage and collard greens. The experience so far would have earned them a 1-star review, but being that I grew up in the restaurant industry (my parents owned a small restaurant) I gave them the benefit of the doubt being that I was not treated rudely, she just seemed flustered being that she was busy. A few minutes later, out comes the food. Here is where the experience took a dramatic turn. I was floored by how distinct the entree and each side dish was in flavor. Though the spinach was just a tad heavy on the salt, everything was flavorful and delicious. In the end I'm glad I stopped in before leaving OK. Will stop by again the next time I'm in town. I'll try to call ahead and get a table when they aren't so busy.

Yelp
Chicken/Dumplings were outstanding!! Taste just like how my grandmother and mother made theirs! Appreciate the fact that they were full ,but allowed my party of 3 in! Just flew in from Cali!!

Yelp
Food was delicious. Portions were very small. Music was weird. Service was fast, but not friendly (Candace). I would eat here more often if the portions were bigger, and the prices a lot lower!!! I won't be back.
google avatar

Krista H.

Yelp
Chicken tasted good but the portion was small and did not have much meat on the bone. Maybe it was because they were running out and we ordered 45 minutes before closing. Also tried the mashed potatoes and they tasted like they were made from scratch and were pretty good.

Yelp
Wow, what a disappointment! Tried this restaurant yesterday for the first time after reading the reviews. Let's start with my salad...it was obvious it was already on the plate in the refrigerator because part of the greens were wilty. Cucumber was a little dried out indicating it was cut up previously. I ordered the fried chicken with the yam sauce. They should've just called it honey chicken because I really didn't taste any sweet potato, just honey. The chicken in this dish was very dry and was not regular size pieces. One looked like part of a breast, maybe 1/3 of a breast. Obvious it was white meat, just really small. I didn't eat all of it and actually spit it out because it was so dry. The legs that came with the dinner were the smallest I've ever seen. Hardly any meat on them. My sides were the before mentioned salad, cabbage, and green beans. Both of these lacked flavor and the beans were rubbery and the ends of them were left on and that part was not edible. Over all, what a sad disappointment. We are in Oklahoma City so rarely as we live in a small town, so picking a restaurant is a big deal to us, and to think, we ruined a nice day on this restaurant. Do better!!

Yelp
On our quest to find new and interesting local restaurants, we found a great experience at Florence's! While the restaurant has been open for nearly 70 years, it was new to us. We were greeted promptly and received friendly service throughout our visit. The menu is filled with comfort foods like your grandma used to make. I ordered the Wednesday special, which was honey meatloaf. I didn't really taste honey, but it was full of peppers and onions like any good meatloaf should be. More impressive to me were the side dishes. Do not come here without ordering the candied yams. They were the best thing on the menu! The mashed potatoes and gravy were also really good. Just to end things on a sweet note, I ordered the peach cobbler. It was only $3 and was the perfect size after a filling meal. If you haven't tried Florence's yet, what are you waiting on?

Rhonda C.

Yelp
Wonderful food, great atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. Be sure and go earlier in the day so they don't run out of your picks. Soooooo good!!!!!!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch. The restaurant is clean with modern decor. Our waitress was amazing. The place was packed, and the food was tasty. The chicken was a little dry for my liking, but still good. The gravy had lots of flavor and the yams were wonderful.

Yelp
An Eastside staple for soul food. I can appreciate the upgrades & remodel of Florence's. I hadn't eaten here in years. I started with a watermelon lemonade & had 3 refills. It had the right amount of sweetness & tart. I chose the pot roast with, mac n cheese, collard greens and Boley beans. You get 3 sides! Pot roast smacked! Normally I prefer the savory pinto beans & savory collard greens. Both my sides had sweet undertones. Hot sauce balanced the sweetness. Just a heads up depending on your taste bud preference. My friends fried chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The yams were sweet to the point it was my dessert. Certain days of the week feature different specials. Will go back for the fried fish. I Left a $10 lunch tip & an additional $15 tip hit my debit card! was my biggest complaint. I don't know why our server thought we were leaving a $25 tip on two lunch plates. Florence's did refund the extra debit card tip charge the next day after calling & informing & going back the next day.

Yelp
I met a group of 7 coworkers here for lunch. I had the Friday special chicken and dumplings with green beans and a salad. Some of us called our order in and some placed it there. My order was called in and was served five minutes after I arrived. It truly felt like I had sat down at my grandmothers kitchen table for lunch. The green beans were fresh not frozen, the salad is clearly made fresh and is not a bagged mixed (loved the fresh mushrooms!) and my chicken and dumplings was made with whole chicken. Unfortunately there was a wait for those of our party that ordered at the restaurant but everyone loved their food overall. If you go during lunch order your food in advance. I'll definitely be back for the fried catfish and koolaide!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is delicious and the stuff was super friendly and attentive. This is a great spot to take a date. Pro Tip: 1. Order the sweet potatoes 2. Order the greens 3. Try to call your order in prior to visiting for take-out 4. Make some extra time if your limited to an hour lunch. They make everything fresh.

Yelp
We never stop looking for special and wonderful places to share an extraordinary meal with our loved ones. Here they welcomed us and served us with big smiles, and a kindness that we would only find at Amona / Grandma's house. Here we will enjoy dishes full of stories, a lot of care and good love, simply delicious, culinary magic. Before finishing, we decided to have a little more of that love, of course, and we ordered additional dishes to take home.

Phil W.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Fried chicken was tough and was not cooked to order. It tasted like it had been cooked yesterday. Side dishes were cold, especially the mashed potatoes. I ordered corn and it was finally delivered after I had finished my meal. Beef liver and onions were very well prepared and delicious. Houseflies were everywhere. We ordered two lunch dishes and a soda pop. With tip, the cost was almost $50. I recommend avoiding this restaurant, regardless of its James Beard status!

Yelp
just read the negative reviews. it's a trip how critical we can be of one another, but not of others. that's deep. is this the best soul food that i ever had? no did i feel like cooking that day? also no which means: five star review the service was good the dining room was clean and i got what i ordered i think that people should stop expecting a michelin star experience from a soul food restaurant

Yelp
Finalllllyyyyy got to try Florence's!!! I was so so excited to finally try her yammed fried chicken that my husband had told me about! I work not too far away so went and picked up lunch for myself and some coworkers. I ordered the yammed fried chicken with man n cheese, collard greens, and corn. Unfortunately they forgot my corn which is one of my favs!!! My coworker got the fried catfish with cabbage, a nice little salad and I cannot remember her 3rd side. All meals come with corn bread muffins. They forgot to add tater sauce in the order for my friend. My chicken was so unique and delicious! The Mac n cheese was good and creamy but didn't really taste like a homemade Mac n cheese, more like a velveeta Mac n cheese, the collard greens were good but extremely salty. My friend said the catfish was good! I did not care for the cornbread muffins, they didn't have a lot of flavor. Just too bland and grainy for me. I will definitely go back and try some other items from their menu. But this time I'll check my to go order before I leave! The restaurant is near the capital. The inside was nicer than I expected. Give this place a try! They have been featured on Food Network.

Jason M.

Yelp
The service was prompt and the food was delicious, best sweet tea I have had in OKC. Overall outstanding experience that you should try while in Downtown OKC.

Yelp
I would like to applaud the restaurant the outside & inside was clean and designed nicely and the wait staff was kind and friendly. I ordered the smothered chicken mac and cheese and greens the plate was wonderfully plated however I was a little disappointed the food was slightly cold and lacked flavor I feel I should give the restaurant a second chance perhaps in the next 6 months. I wish you continued success.
google avatar

Yelp
Good down home southern food family owed for a long time full selection of soul food delicacies been coming here for years never disappoints a Oklahoma City favorite.
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
It was ok. In my opinion it was overpriced. I got the chicken that was sweet and hot. Service was ok. Decor was ok. Would I return? Only if someone else was paying. Not a fan.

Tracy D.

Yelp
Service was initially mediocre. It did get better. Some of the items that were said to be staple for this iconic restaurant were just okay. I was not impressed. I was highly disappointed. The chicken wings were small, no meat and were smaller than a buffalo wing as if I were ordering an appetizer. The only thing that was great for me were the side items. I had mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. Particularly for the side items the macaroni and cheese was the best. It was awesome. I would definitely order a pan of the macaroni and cheese for my Thanksgiving Dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Never been? Sounds like good place to get good home meals! Soul food cooking!!! Turnip green!

Janee' T.

Yelp
I'm kind of disappointed in this visit. I got the baked chicken and dressing, with cabbage, mashed potatoes with gravy, and Mac and cheese. I requested via online extra gravy over the chicken and dressing. That did not happen. The cabbage had no seasoning and was still very crunchy. There was no gravy on the dressing and it was pieces of raw celery throughout which really killed the vibe. The Mac and cheese was cool. The chicken could've been great if the gave me the gravy I requested. I did order a yam fried thigh. Though super tiny it was crispy and deliciously seasoned. This not so great visit won't keep me from coming back, I just think I'll stick to Friday's for the salmon croquettes.

Robert S.

Yelp
The restaurant staff was very friendly as I entered and helpful when I was ordering. This restaurant appeared on diners, drive-ins and dives and featured their yam fried chicken. I tried that for the first time, and it was delicious. The sides of macaroni and cheese and corn was tasty as well. Next time I'm in Oklahoma City I will definitely stop here.

Yelp
Florence's is one of those places I've heard about and driven by for years. This was one of those days when I just couldn't decide what I wanted. When I saw their Friday special was chicken and dumplings, I knew it was time to give it a try. The decor is more updated that I would have expected; more functional that fancy. Everything is extremely clean. I got there just before the lunch rush and found a table just inside the door. The place never got packed, but there seemed to be several getting takeout. The waitress was nice despite being really busy as it seemed she was the only person not in the kitchen. The chicken and dumplings came with three sides. I picked the candies yams, seasoned spinach and - at the waitress' recommendation - the Boley beans. It took almost no time for the food to come, along with two cornbread muffins. Chicken and Dumplings - 4 You need to know that all chicken and dumplings are compared to my Grandma Lambert's. These were awfully good, and loaded with chicken. The dumplings weren't a bit doughy. The dish needed a fair amount of salt, and I had use my napkin to spit out several pieces of gristle. Looking at it from a positive note, that proves it's "down home" cooking. They were some of the best I've had in a restaurant. Sides - 5 Though the spinach didn't taste particularly seasoned, it had such a fresh taste. The candied yams were a bright orange, soft, buttery and sweet. You won't find many any better. My favorite were the Boley beans. They are sweetened pinto beans and I could have eaten a bowl full. The sweet cornbread muffins were light and tasty. And you can't have a meal like this without sweet tea. It was sweet without being overly sweet. It was a milky orange and visually looked like a New England India Pale Ale. I do wonder if they might add a bit of juice, as you could detect a hint of citrus. It was very good.

Bev W.

Yelp
We were looking so forward to our lunch and I don't think I have ever been more disappointed. The restaurant was very pretty, but we had many flies at our table and the floor was very sticky. I ordered fried chicken and my husband got the liver and onions. Between us, we got almost every side. We were told the corn wasn't ready yet. With the exception of the sweet potatoes, every side was cold. The mashed potatoes were colder than room temperature. The liver and onions were nicely prepared and enjoyable, however the fried chicken was completely cold and the breast was dry and definitely tasted reheated. Our corn side wasn't brought until the end of the meal and had the look of left over corn, reheated the day after Thanksgiving. We were never checked on by the staff and couldn't get their attention, not even when we were ready for the check. They were unconcerned that we had eaten very little of our meal. We decided not to complain, but certainly won't be back. This was a very expensive lunch.

Evelyn C.

Yelp
1 star for the Fried Chicken n green beans that was really good but other than that, out of Mashed potato so had to get double mac ( didn't want anything else as a side). Turns out Mac and cheese was superrrrrrr watery(which is fine) but had no flavor at all ;( so ended up only eating the chicken. Dirty tables, Waitress clearly looked busy, should maybe get more help. I didn't say anything because nothing else I would've liked in replacement, and to top it off I get ~ double charged~ with someone else's order :-) Wouldn't come back.

Yelp
I get it, it's probably popular to really like this place, but our party of 3 did not like it at all. Got there before noon on a Tuesday. Three people inside waiting on togo's for close to an hour. Only 4 tables with patrons and it still took 40 minutes to get our food. Tried to order lovers and gizzards (out). Same with the dip. I had the chicken and it was dry and barely warm. Greens had a weird sweet tang to them and overly salted. Mashed potatoes were lumpy , starchy tasting and cool to the touch. None of us have any desire to come back. No idea how they won on awards.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Went here after hearing about the awards Florence has received and seeing her restaurant on DD&D. Being from North Carolina, I wanted a taste of home. I had the fried chicken with pinto beans and collard greens. While the taste was very good, the chicken pieces (thigh and wing) were rather small. Still, they were cooked just right: juicy with a very crispy skin. The collards were great and the beans were a touch bland, but I'm a salt-o-holic anyways. I will likely return to try some of the other fare.

Yelp
Just went to Florence's Restaurant on 23rd. We were really looking forward to eating there. Had heard the food was great. It wasn't crowded at all. We waited for about 5 minutes or more to get seated, staff all around, then another 20 minutes at the table. Wait staff were casually visiting with each other right next to us at the bar. We were non existent.....Finally gave up on being waited on and left. Unbelievable

Yelp
Let's start with GO to FLORENCES'. This is some of the best soul food I've ever had in this state. They had beautiful decorations, a gorgeous bar, & Florence was in almost every picture! Very hometown made. Andrew was our server, he was funny, knowledgeable, and suggested a great plate! The Black Cherry Kool-aid was refreshing and the greens dip was a delicious choice for an appetizer. The dip comes with chips, sour cream, and salsa. The salsa lacked, but it wasn't bad. My wife ordered the Honey Meatloaf that came with 3 sides of choice. All of which were absolutely divine(Buttered corn, candied yams,& MacNCheese). Andrew convinced me to get the candied yam chicken which also came with 3 sides (Greens, MacNCheese, & Country Cabbage). Absolutely mind blowing how good and filling. Compliments to the Chef& the recipes! I do however wish the portions were bigger. Also the $ should be more like $$-$$$. It can get expensive.

Yelp
Best fried chicken ever!! had the cabbage, collard greens and candied yams as sides - all were yummy. Only disappointment was they had no desserts at all. Couple next to us had the last 2 banana puddings - and it looked delicious and they highly recommended.

Yelp
OK came back for the Chicken n Dumplings and Peach cobbler. Sooooooooo worth it!!! Just like I remembered as a kid. Good southern cooking. I get some people giving low reviews because they run out of food sometimes. But you have to consider it's a family run establishment. We saw Florence herself yesterday. She graciously came by our table to see how we were doing. And the food is so comforting, they run out. So what! Get there earlier next time

Yelp
Excellent food, and good prices. Deserving of their James Beard award. I had yammer fried chicken with collard greens, cabbage and green beans. All very good.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious!! It was like eating at my grandparents, a true home cooked meal. My husband enjoyed fried chicken and I had the chicken and dressing. Everyone was so nice from the hostess to the waiter, they welcomed you as if you were in their home. We are looking forward to going back for a wonderful meal soon.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place for so long, finally got to go today! I will most definitely be back! I got the yammed chicken. This is quite honestly the best chicken I've ever had. The Mac and cheese was delicious, definitely made from scratch and the sweet potatoes were great too. My daughter got the smothered chicken and that homemade gravy was divine! She said her cabbage was her favorite, which I tasted and it was very flavorful and meaty. But I cannot end this review without telling you to absolutely get their sweet tea with your meal! Best tea I've ever had! In fact I bought a gallon to take home with my leftovers. It's is so refreshing!!! If you are on the fence about going here, just go! You will not regret it!!

Yelp
Service, great. Food was fresh and tasty. However, by 1:30 pm, after tthe lunch hour, all I got on my chicken dinner plate was two wings and a thigh. Hardly worth 18 bucks!

Yelp
I saw the restaurant on a TV show, so wanted to check it out. The meal itself was good, yam covered fried chicken, Mac and cheese, greens, mashed potatoes, and cornbread. The mashed Potatoes and cornbread were lackluster, but the rest was great. The reason for 3 stars only is due to the women's bathroom didn't lock, there was barely any TP either. When I informed the waitress, I received a not so nice look (such as why are you telling me). Also, ordered peach cobbler to go and it was HORRIBLE. Something was not right with it. I'm not saying it wasn't good cobbler, I'm saying it had gone bad or something bad was out in it. Waste or money as threw it out.

Yelp
Great customer service from the moment I walked in until left! Food was great, awesome flavor....... Menu is short but has all the food stuff you need to eat! One early, they close at 5 pm everyday!

Yelp
The staff was helpful and friendly. However, they were out of pork chops. How does a restaurant that has pork chops on the menu not have any on hand. Everything was under seasoned. My husband ordered liver and onions and got a 4X5 piece of liver that was about 1/4" thick. It couldn't have weighed 2 oz. There should have been 4 or 5 pieces on the plate. Liver is cheap and it was in same price range as the other entrees. Won't be back.

Yelp
It was pretty good. Chicken pieces were more pigeon size though. Cabbage and greens were really good and service was top notch. Would definitely recommend.
