Florentín Rooftop Bar - Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"DTLA has a lot of rooftops where you can admire the skyline, but to find the latest, you’ll need to track down an unmarked door in an alley and take an elevator to the eighth floor. Florentín’s breezy Mediterranean space reminds us of a low-key wedding venue, but what most caught our eye were the drinks: a cucumber-laced martini, carrot margarita, mango sticky rice milk punch, or the straightforward house special (a beer and mezcal shot for $14). We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

My review is for the bar and cocktails only since I didn't eat here. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of seats available for walk ins. I ordered off the menu and just told the bartender what I was feeling and she did a great job. Each cocktail even better than the last. The vibes here in the afternoon are great, it's got a nice breeze even when it's hot out. Beautiful views. Great date place. I'll definitely come back and eat next time. Not the easiest place to find but there's plenty of signs and people to ask along the way.

If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Downtown Los Angeles, look no further than Florentín Rooftop Bar. Tucked away at 617 S Spring Street, this spot is not just a bar; it’s an experience. The moment you step inside this beautifully preserved early 20th-century building, you can feel the blend of old-world charm and modern vibes that makes it so special. The ambiance here is perfect for everything from a casual night out with friends to a more intimate gathering. Whether you're celebrating a birthday or just unwinding after a long week, the rooftop setting offers a unique escape from the bustling city below. It’s like finding your own little oasis high above the streets of L.A. Now, let’s talk about the menu. You can’t go wrong with their artisanal pizzas, which are a must-try. Each bite is a delightful fusion of flavors, especially when paired with one of their handcrafted cocktails or a fine wine from their impressive selection. The Mediterranean-inspired small bites are also a hit, making it easy to nibble and chat while enjoying the stunning views. What truly sets Florentín apart is the service. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that your experience is nothing short of excellent. They make you feel welcome and valued, adding to the overall warmth of the place. So, if you’re in the mood for some delicious food, great drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere, Florentín Rooftop Bar should be at the top of your list. Trust me; once you discover this hidden treasure, you’ll want to keep coming back!

If you're looking for the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at the office, look no further than Florentine Rooftop Bar! From the moment you step onto the rooftop, you might navigate through the parking lot on Spring, almost unsweetened where you’re going, but trust me, it’s worth it. You’re greeted by a breathtaking view of the city skyline, which transforms into a stunning backdrop as the sun sets. The ambiance is a delightful blend of chic modern decor and cozy seating, making it an ideal place to relax with colleagues or friends. The soft lighting and carefully curated music create an inviting atmosphere that encourages you to linger a little longer. The bartenders are not only skilled but also passionate about their craft, always ready to recommend something new or customize a drink to suit your preferences. Each cocktail is a masterpiece, reflecting creativity and quality. Whether you’re catching up with colleagues after a hectic workday or simply enjoying a night out, Florentine Rooftop Bar offers the perfect blend of ambiance and delicious cocktails. The combination of a stunning view and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination in downtown. I can't recommend it enough!

This place has a great vibe. The craft cocktails are amazing, the food is delicious, and the view of the city is beautiful (especially at night). I love that this place has plenty of seating, and the chairs are even comfy.

Google
All I had was cucumber water so the review is for the vibes. Music was outrageously loud but the space was very cute (photo booth) and had nice rooftop views of the city. It’s tucked in a questionable alley and the elevator ride seemed like the start of a horror movie, but that adds to the aesthetic.

First time here and it was delightful and delicious! The staff is warm and very knowledgeable. I was greeted as I was walking up to the bar and immediately asked if I would like to try a cocktail. The bartender made me an impressively tasty carrot margarita. I wasn’t sure if I would like it because it just seemed strange but to my surprise it was so freaking good. There was a lovely young lady by the name of Monica that engaged in conversation with me and told me about the pizzas they have and recommended the spicy lamb one and it was a hit. I complimented her style and her vibrant red hair and conversation just flowed. Before I knew it we were chatting about friends and pets and what not. She checked on me multiple times and had me cracking up throughout my visit. Overall a very pleasant experience and will definitely be coming back with my boyfriend to try their yuzu mezcal drink and hope that young lady is there again.

Love me a pretty drink and Florentin does them like no one else. Everything here feels so intentional, from their signature cocktails (the carrot margarita is my go-to) to the artisanal pizzas. It’s the perfect spot for date night, watching the sunset with the girls, or even doing some light networking.

We had so much fun here! Great service & drinks. The carrot margarita was one of my favorites.

Yelp
Let me tell you of when I stoped by to this bar. First of all the view! OMG! It was beautiful. Open air rooftop. If you get chilly there's warmers and a small indoor section. Now the food I haven't tried but it all looked good from where I was sitting lol. Now the service! Monica (with the red hair) was very attentive - making sure I was well taken care of. Tip well deserved. Make sure to check out the Photo Booth too!

Yelp
Awesome drinks! Great vibes, and good people! Order the pizza, make sure to get the lamb sausage pizza. It's all in house made, shout out to the chefs! Looks sketchy at first upon approach, but the security is funny as fuck and very welcoming. Speakeasy vibes

Yelp
Best new rooftop in DTLA! This place is top notch! Vibes, drinks, food, and incredible views of the city. The carrot margarita is a must try. Sounds kinda weird but is so good and refreshing. Entrance is a sneaky little walk through the alleyway

Yelp
This Rooftop Bar is a hidden gem in DTLA! The entrance is lowkey and feels like a speakeasy, but once you're up there, the rooftop is gorgeous. We had the Herb Caesar Salad, House Marinated Olives, Charcuterie Board, Margherita Pizza, and Broccoli & Ricotta Pizza. All amazing, especially the handmade pizzas! Drinks were just as good. We had: Florentini, Spicy Yuzu Mezcal (spicy but so worth it), Melon Raspberry, and Carrot Margarita. Perfect spot for sunset vibes and dancing later at night. Can't wait to go back! Yelp
To all my rooftop lovers who love to vibe out in a social environment, this newest hot spot is for you and I! They host events here and you can find their weekly happenings on their instagram page. I came here for DTLA Art Night and ended up meeting amazing people. Because I enjoy being around humans, I always need spaces and places that bring them. Here at florentin the hospitality was high on love and light and welcomed me in. The decor is modern and charming. The bar area is aesthetically pleasing, obsessed with the interior designing of it! Please try their florentini and carrot margarita drinks! GOODNESS! Pinkys up! Their menu is pretty simple and straight forward with limited options on the food side. We come here to enjoy drinks anyways so all good haha. The bartenders kept my drinks full and knew how to keep a conversation going among their busyness of moving around the bar. Loved that! It was still daylight/evening hours so not crazy busy at the time until later on at night when the crowd started rolling in. It's summer time fine...so plenty of fine men and women here bringing diversity. Love love love! I highly suggest ubering it or if you're a local resident, walking it so you can indulge in your alcohol booziness responsibly! (also train stations nearby if you wanna add some adventure and save some funds) If you are the type that don't want to hassle with parking and can't control your parking rages especially in dtla area then please do yourself a favor. We need everyone in a great mood here but if you have no choice and need to drive then park in the public parking areas for a fee. They are located in many areas of downtown...don't be frustrated it can all be so simple and the entrance to the rooftop is kinda tricky but follow the physical signs. Overall, come with great vibes and gain new connections! You can catch me here at random times.

Yelp
Can you give more than 5 stars? If so I would! Monica took great care of us and even loaned a jacket. We had the charcuterie board, Greek salad and the prosciutto and egg pizza. Oh man, it was good. Great rooftop vibe and fun servers made it a night to remember. It is hard to get there, but that's half the fun. The guys in the alley are great. Keep it a secret because I want to come back!

Yelp
Rooftop bar vibes inside DTLA. Came around for late night drinks - you get in via a door in an alley, then up an elevator. Had a tropical drink - was pretty delicious. Vibe was better than last time, with some Latin music and a crowd but with enough space to have a proper conversation. Would come back if it's like this vs the first time I came (perhaps they sorted the sound / bartending situation since then).

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday and had the best time. The rooftop has amazing views of DTLA, and the vibe is super cozy and stylish. I had the melon raspberry cocktail refreshing and perfectly balanced. The staff was friendly and made the night feel special. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Had seen singing about this new rooftop venue, and had some time, so we went by to check it out. Now, getting there is interesting. Basically you walk through a parking area, and straight ahead, on a wall, crossing an alley, is a green kit up sign. Enter here (there is security at the door) and then you'll head up to the rooftop to enter Florentine. Waking inside, the venue isn't huge, and it's is self seating, with constant chairs and semi couches. You order food and drinks at the bar, so don't wait for anyone to come to you. We started with cocktails, grabbing the passion fruit paper plane and the mango sticky rice milk punch. The paper plane comes out looking like a liquid orange vanilla drink, but it's very nuanced in it's flavor profile. It could have been a little more passion fruit forward, having it at the beginning of the drink name, but it was well balanced and you tasted the different notes involved in the drink. The mango rice milk punch was the real shocker, looking nothing like you might expect and tasting even better then you might expect. This was a truly artisanal cocktail and whoever thought it up, please take your flowers. Fabulous drink! We also grabbed a margarite pizza as you have to also try the food. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, with the crust being more on the chewy end of the spectrum, but the ingredients were good quality and it is a decent size for a bar/lounge pizza. Ideal, drinks were excellent, service was great, people were friendly and the pizza was decent. It may not be the biggest rooftop venue in LA, but it makes the most of what it has and is a quality addition to the LA nightlife scene

Yelp
This is the newest rooftop gem in LA! I was dinning about a block away and needed to find a nearby rooftop bar and coincidentally Florentin was the closest one. So lucky!! It's a little hidden but you still can't miss it. We came in on a Saturday at around 8 PM and there were a few people but it does fill up closer to the end of the night. There is an indoor section and an outdoor section. Stunning rooftop views, maybe plan to catch a sunset sometime! The drink menu has to be my favorite- they have something for everyone and plenty of options if you like a fruity cocktail. I haven't been obsessed with a cocktail in a minute. Think like Death & Co. menu but the prices are actually reasonable. Service was great and the bartenders are pretty friendly. Great atmosphere all around. I love that a new rooftop bar has been added to the city!

Yelp
A cute space. The Bar Manager sometimes has his adorable, very well-behaved dog in attendance. I love that all of their cocktails are available as non-alcoholic variants. The view is stunning, especially at sunset and dusk.

Yelp
Was out downtown and stumbled across the Flroentín rooftop bar. The view is beautiful and the outside area is cute. The drinks were only okay and took a while to get and I'm not sure if they have different djs or music themes different nights, but I swear they were playing the same song for 20minutes.

Yelp
This rooftop bar is such a vibe! Super cute, chill, and great for conversations. Drinks are solid but I didn't care for the lavender cocktail - a bit too floral for me. Service was fast and the bartenders were friendly! Would definitely come back. Also seemed that you can reserve tables - would recommend the booth seating bc that's the side that has better views
google avatar

Yelp
Love this rooftop bar in LA! Security is nice, the drinks are good, and the view is great especially at night. The only thing is the bar gets busy during events, so it can take a while to get your drink. Definitely recommend coming here with friends or for a date night.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this rooftop bar, it's super cute with a 80's modern feel inside. Great spot for a date or with friends. I've been during regular hours as well as during an event both are fun. The view of the city is great, not obstructed, and beautiful at night. The drinks are very unique with great flavors as well. There are also multiple DTLA parking lots on the street of the bar!

Yelp
I want to preface this by saying this review is only for the bartender Rodrigo. The bar itself was lovely, dj's were great and the vibe was welcoming. However, for my first drink, I ordered a Hugo Spritz from Rodrigo and he very clearly gave me an Aperol Spritz. It was orange in color and literally had an orange slice in it. When I went to ask him if maybe he gave me the wrong drink, he said no, that's a Hugo Spritz. He literally lied to my face. I didn't make a big deal because it was starting to get busy, and maybe he just made an honest mistake. When my friends and I came back for our second drink, we asked if there was any way we could get the passion fruit drink with tequila instead of bourbon. He said sure, made us our drinks and we enjoyed them. When we went back, we went to the woman bartender and asked her for the same drink. She said no because those come premade and there was no way to substitute them. We let her know that Rodrigo just made them for us. She went over to ask and he literally said, "no I didn't. Who said that?" Then looks over to our group and we wave. He then proceeds to grab random bottles and try to come up with a concoction. The very nice woman bartender tried to accommodate us as best as possible, and made a drink that was very different than what we just gave us. It was very clear he lied twice. And my thing is, what if we had allergies? What if we just didn't want to mix liquors? He also could've just said, "I'm not familiar with a Hugo Spritz, can you describe it to me?" "That drink isn't available for substitutions, would you like something else?" We would've been so understanding. It's the fact that he lied to us twice. This is a place we frequent so this was really disappointing. Again, everything else about our experience was lovely.

Yelp
The drinks were not impressive enough for the prices and the long wait for me. I did not like the overall energy of the place tbh
google avatar

Eriko M.

Yelp
Went there Saturday early night. It's on the 8th floor. Got the passion fruit drink and the lavender drink. The drinks were tasty. Not very strong. Pricey. Very loud music. If you like very loud music and dancing, good place to go. If you're looking for a more relaxing sit down and sip on your drink kind of rooftop bar, this isn't for you.
google avatar

Christa B.

Yelp
If You Just Want a Good Cocktail, Beware: Influencer Only Spot. Stumbled upon this place and was ushered up by the security (no mention of any type of private event). Sadly, never got to try anything because when we spoke to the host, she asked if we were live stream and said if we weren't live streaming, we could not stay. Again, did not say anything about a private event, just that if we wanted to stay, we needed to live stream. We even asked if there was a cover charge we needed to pay; we just wanted to order some cocktails. Nope, live streaming required to stay. I actually never write poor reviews, but I'm sure some non-influencers who just want to spend money on good drinks would like to avoid the hassle of heading up to just be sent back down.

Yelp
Surprised at this little spot. DJ the night I went was like EDM good jams mixed with some pop fun mix. Good vibes. Espresso Martini was yummy

Yelp
If you're in LA, this is the rooftop bar to hit when you experience downtown. Excellent vibes and view, and they always have good DJs. The bartenders are friendly and make great cocktails. The owner is also very present and gracious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Awesome vibe. Dj is great, bar Staff is friendly and drinks are bomb. Go into alleyway and look for bluncer in the door way - this place is worth it!

Yelp
What an awesome find! I went about a month after they opened, my husband found them somehow. They were still training a bar tender so the drinks were a little slow, but SOO delicious! They were beautiful and super tasty, inventive great cocktails. The ambience is also really nice, I love the colors and plants and lighting design. Really well thought out space. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love this new spot. The flat bread and pizza is on point. My drink of choice is the Lavender Collins. Jeff the chef makes tasty food. Haley was very sweet. Living in DTLA for 10 years I am beyond grateful for this spot to be in the neighborhood. Love all the staff.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
This has become the best DTLA bar to go to. Great food, great drinks and great music. Staff is awesome and welcoming. On top of all of that, it's on a rooftop with an amazing view.
google avatar

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this spot, especially for meeting friends at the end of a work day. Not only are the views top of the line, but so are the cocktails. Very reasonable prices and variety too.

Yelp
Florentín Rooftop Bar in DTLA is the kind of spot you stumble into once and immediately want to keep to yourself--but it's too good not to share. Mediterranean vibe with skyline views. Bladimir is a cocktail artist! We got an old fashioned, the prickly pear marg, the lychee cocktail, and the melons raspberry cocktail over our last 2 visits, and he nails it every time. He makes a perfectly balanced cocktail. The whole place has this laid-back, welcoming energy. Great music, friendly staff, and comfortable atmosphere. It's the perfect blend of chill and chic. If you're looking for a rooftop bar that delivers on vibes, views, and top-tier cocktails, Florentín is where it's at.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
Great service. Drinks are unique and stand out from the menus around DTLA. Just a nice place to hang out with the homies and enjoy conversation and watch the sunset.
google avatar

Brandon W.

Yelp
This is the best spot for Friday or Saturday night DTLA at the moment. The music is good, the food is great, Issa vibe, overlooking the whole city

Charles ß.

Yelp
Why this shows up in yelp as a "Speakeasy Bar" is a fallacy. Going through a parking lot and entering a door to an elevator does not make it a Speakeasy... This place is more loud nightclub than bar. If that's your thing this is the place for you.

Mason G.

Yelp
The host and bartenders were professional and efficient! Total vibe here, good music. It gets really crowded at night after 9:00 pm. I went here solo after a long week of work and needed a good martini and this place did not let me down! Follow the green sign in the window when you walk through the parking lot.

Erik C.

Yelp
Rooftop is a major vibe! highly recommend Florentin if you want fire drinks, good music and amazing views. Best rooftop in Dtla hands down!!

Nareli B.

Yelp
Ambiance, food and amazing views! The perfect rooftop for this summer date and night. Love how you can chat and still enjoy a cocktail with music.

Crispian A.

Yelp
Great experience! I would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys a combo of a great vibe and excellent food/drinks!

Andrew M.

Yelp
Finally, the rooftop bar we've been searching for. Amazing view of the city, great drinks and music. Grateful this place opened up in the heart of downtown. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love the bar area! Great service. Drinks are good and the views are very nice. My favorite drink is the Passion fruit paper plane, if you like sour drinks I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
If you love a view and a good cocktail, you must visit Florentín! The cocktails and small bites are to die for. I grew up in DTLA and appreciate the vibes this rooftop curated. It's upscale - yet welcoming - and has a speakeasy vibe to it. I've been waiting for a spot like this to open in the area. It feels exclusive and refreshing. Trust, come and see for yourself! Enjoy

Eric T.

Yelp
Very excited to have this beautiful rooftop bar open in DTLA. Came on a Friday evening at around 6pm. Not too crowded. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the environment and downtown views. They have plenty of outdoor heaters, so you can enjoy this place even on a cool evening. The drinks: interesting and excellent. I tried the Hibiscus Mary, the Paper Plane, the Carrot Margarita and the Spicy Yuzu mescal. All were so unusual but perfectly blended. The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. The ONLY HITCH (and not a big one) is that it was a little hard to find. Google lists the bar location as Broadway, and Florentín's website says Spring St. It is indeed on Spring St. But to find it, you have to go all the way through a parking lot on Spring and into the alley btwn Spring and Broadway, where you'll be met with a warm welcome from a security guard standing outside an unmarked door. From there, take an elevator to the 8th floor, and that's it. I didn't try the food, but I will definitely try it on my next visit. They also offer bookings for private events, and I'm sure it would be a beautiful place to have a private event. There are views to the South of the Exchange building and views to the West of The Eastern and other beautiful downtown landmarks. Please visit this place. You won't be disappointed.

Miguel G.

Yelp
After coming to this bar several times, I can gladly say that the ambiance and music has been amazing every time. The service at the bar has also been amazing, with great drinks as well. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

Yelp
Came here for the first time on a Friday night and it was a nice, cool vibe. Stephanie helped me out, she was super friendly and attentive! Wasn't sure what I wanted but she recommended the prickly pear margarita and I absolutely loved it! Will come back some time to try the food.

Yelp
Joined DTLA here last night Meet some pleasant people, good drinks, music was fun and enjoyed the view. Nice place and I will surely come again especially if they keep good music.

Yelp
Came here on 4/20 it was my group & I's first time here. Almost instantly we got a weird vibe from not only the staff but the people there as well . This is definitely a "influencer" spot. We kept getting dirty looks ( very judgy looks ) from pretty much everyone. It wasn't welcoming at all. My bartender seemed inexperienced on how to make a simple margarita, it took her awhile to make it, she remade it twice & put her fingertips in my drink multiple times. I didn't say anything I just knew I wasn't gonna drink it. Also they weren't serving food for no reason given to us other than "they're behind on setting up so there's no food" that's what our bartender said to us. So that was a bust. This place gets 2 stars for aesthetics, the music, & the views. That's all... sucks because I live rather close to this bar & was excited for a new remedy rooftop bar but I'll stick to driving out for a night out. My 2 star experience is different than the 5 star reviews on here but at least it's honest.

Yelp
This place is a fabulous new addition to the dtla bar scene. Gorgeous rooftop and beautifully crafted interiors with perfectly balanced cocktails. Busy, but fun! And the inside outside vibe allows conversation to flow easily without yelling at your neighbor!

Gabriel J.

Yelp
Love the Vibe and the drinks were off the chain. It was a bit cold but we were told that the heaters were on the way. One small suggestion the bartender was very nice but she needs to be aware not to carry long chats when people are waiting to order. Hopefully they'll have food options in the future. The place is amazing and I will definitely go back

Mario V.

Yelp
This place has immaculate vibes and is perfect for a sunny day. The bartender was super kind, and the DJ did not miss!
