"FM Mangal, a Turkish grill spot on Church Street, serves some seriously good flatbread. It’s warmed over the grill and covered in a secret mixture of what we can only describe as smoke, fat, and spice. Needless to say, you’ll be eating several bowls of this. Also needless to say that it goes very well with their kofte, roasted onions in pomegranate, and whatever else you want to pile on top." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"Of all the things that come off of FM Mangal’s ocakbaşı grill in Camberwell, it’s hard to pick a favourite. The adana kebab is juicy and perfectly spiced. The aubergine and peppers, just the right amount of smoky. And the flatbread—soaked in meat juices, rubbed with a secret, moreish, spicy rub, and grilled over coals—is a basket of bread we’ll always welcome. It’s little surprise that this neighbourhood favourite is always buzzing come dinnertime." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing
"Everyone loves a secret. But few are as intriguing, moreish, and spicy as FM Mangal’s. What goes into the spice mixture of this Turkish flatbread is apparently hush-hush. All we know is that seeing a basket of bread that glistens red, has a touch of char from the grill, and has been seasoned with what we can only describe as smoke, fat, and spice, has made this Camberwell spot a must-visit for bread enthusiasts over the years." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"“FM(L), this bread will seduce you.” Not our words but the words of LisaJemma, a 69 reviews-strong contributor to TripAdvisor. Punny skills aside, Jemma knows her stuff. Because great things can always be made greater, so it’s no wonder that FM Mangal’s already delicious flatbread—warmed over the ocakbasi and ready to be dunked, dipped, and mop all in its path–is made even better by a little sizzle and spice. It’s first whacked on top cooking kebabs to soak up some of their fizzling fats, before being smeared in spices. Glistening from the grill and smoky from the spice mixture, this isn’t a single basket problem." - jake missing
