Came here with my boyfriend for a birthday celebration. It was the first time either of us experienced afternoon tea, so we didn't know what to expect. I had made a reservation for 90 minutes for a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy when we arrived. The interior of FogRose is gorgeous and definitely a great setting to snap some photos.
With the afternoon tea set, we got three different sandwiches (salmon, egg, and chicken), a scone, a macaron, chocolate truffle, and a lemon & blueberry cream shooter (these are certainly not the correct names of the items, but trying my best to recall them!). My favorite sandwich was the salmon as I thought the cream cheese paired well with the fish. My least favorite item was the chicken sandwich. It had slices of green apple, a blueberry cream cheese spread paired with the chicken filling, and too many flavors were happening at once for me. Out of all the items, we definitely thought the desserts outshined the savory sandwiches. It would be tough to choose a favorite dessert, but if I had to, I would choose the chocolate truffle because it was very decadent and chocolatey, but not too sweet (all the desserts had a perfect amount of sweetness)!
There were 10 different teas on the list that we could choose from and I really enjoyed the variety. Of the 10 teas, they were either a black tea, a green tea, or a caffeine-free tea. I loved how the teas were unlimited and by the cup, so you could really try any of the teas and have as much as you wanted! My favorite would be the Cameroonian black tea.
Service was good, although because it was so busy I would say they were a little stretched. We had to wait a little longer to get refills on tea and I even was given the wrong tea at one point in our reservation. We were also seated at a pretty small table and felt a bit squished next to a big party of 10 people. At the end, the was an automatic 20% gratuity charge, which is slightly a bit higher than what I expected for the quality of service and whatnot. Total was about $60/person + tip. You're definitely paying more for the experience than the food, in my opinion, but it was fun.
All in all, FogRose is a pretty nice place to have a little afternoon tea party. I'm interested to see what other items they have on their menu
