The food was amazing!! Some of the best bread pudding I’ve had. The French Toast with the cream cheese frosting awesome too! The atmosphere is extremely casual and could use an update, but the food is worth the trip.

One of my absolute favorite spots to visit ! I try to bring friends here for brunch dates regularly! The owners / head chefs are awesome. Very friendly and welcoming. I’ve spoken with at least one of them basically every-time I’ve gone in. They’ve come out greeted the customers and check on the customers to make sure everything was good between cooking meals ! I love this it’s so special and I value that. The food always comes out tasting amazing, full of flavor ,and you can just feel it’s made with love . You can tell they love what they do and who they are doing it for … us! Be sure to visit and support this superb establishment. My goal is to try almost everything on the menu!

The food was really good. We had catfish and grits, chicken strips with hot honey, grilled shrimp and grits, and catfish with eggs and potatoes. We got there when they opened, so there was no wait. Everyone was friendly, and the food was served hot. It's Byob, always a plus. Seating was ok. The tables are good for small groups. Music was perfect. Overall a good experience.

Placed a large order for pick up. The food was ready and exceptionally delicious! Everything is cooked to perfection. We also ordered creamy shrimp and grits, the Jawn sandwiches and the catfish sandwich. As you can see no pics of some of the food, it was devoured and resting in family members tummies😂 Thank you Food Chasers for following your dream. Oh! I also packed the salmon cheese steak in my carryon luggage and flew home to Orlando, Florida to share with my hubby. So so good!

First time visiting and the food was good!! I had the fried whiting with grits, the fish was fried perfectly. My daughter had French toast and eggs, she's a picky eater and liked it. My friend ordered a cheesesteak. The food came out quickly and the workers were friendly and attentive. I would return.

My good friend and I drove 45 minutes to try out Food Chasers Kitchen for brunch today. We heard about them through Instagram and had hoped this would be a great first experience with a black woman owned business. When we arrived, the person behind the counter asked if we wanted to dine in or take out. We said dine in and then she quickly responded that we couldn’t dine-in because they had two or three large groups of 4-6 people and they didn’t have the space. So my confused face probably said “why ask me then?” but worst than that, it totally ruined our plans to have the full experience at this establishment. She then says that next time I should make a reservation and I told her that I certainly would have if the site had that option, and she told me I could have called and asked them to reserve our seats. While I assume that the woman was trying to give me advice to smooth over the fact that I was clearly disappointed and somehow let me know how I could do better for myself next time, I strongly suggest to the owners of this establishment that if you have limited dining space, to please require or strongly recommend reservations on your website and partner with a service to allow customers to make them online. This would at least make it known that you take reservations and mentally prepare those who don’t have them. By the way, at least four people left the restaurant while we were waiting for our food and we asked when our food was ready if space to dine in became available and the woman still said no. So not sure what the situation was today, maybe short-staffed or something else, but nonetheless, it was disappointing. Now on to the food. I’ll post the pictures and let it be known that Food Chasers unfortunately was not worth the “chase”. We ordered the Go Big or Go Home platter and the Double the Pleasure platter. The Go Big platter was not very big at all, to say the least, I asked for cheddar cheese in the eggs but didn’t see or taste any cheese at all. I hate to say it, but they actually tasted and looked like powdered eggs. Both the eggs and potatoes were not seasoned and the potatoes were very mushy. The French toast may have been good if the little pieces that were served were hot. The same comment for the larger portion of French toast on the Double the Pleasure platter. The chicken and shrimp and sauce were just basic and nothing to rave about. We really wanted to love this restaurant and make this a go-to spot but unfortunately, we most likely will not return.

If you looking for amazing 5 Star food and presentation go to Food Chasers! I had Mya’s World Famous fried rice with lump Crab meat and Fried Shrimp! As you can see ain’t talking about the little minced crab meat I’m talking dem husky Lump Jawns!!!! Drizzled with the Honey Hot Sauce! We also had the Chicken And Shrimp French Toast! Which was to die for also with the Honey Hot Sauce! These amazing women truly put their heart and soul in their food and it shows! The food was delicious and I will telling everyone I know to go to Food Chasers Kitchen! And I will be back soon!

Excellent food and service 👍🏿 I had ordered the catfish and grits, and i asked them about adding gouda cheese in their grits, and it was so good it took me back to Memphis Tennessee 😋 My son ordered the egg and turkey bacon sandwich which he demolish👌🏾....look at the size of the bacon 💯 We will be back with the whole family!!!!!

I came back with my fiancé for the 1 year anniversary of FoodChasers! I love this restaurant and it's always a pleasure to be a patron. I wasn't too hungry and got the shrimp basket. It was a very solid portion, I definitely was full after it. The catfish and grits are a certified banger!! Happy 1 year anniversary FoodChasers!

I've heard a lot of great things about Food Chasers Kitchen so, my bf & I decided to finally see what all the fuss was about. We both ordered the Salmon & Crab cheese steaks at 40 dollars a pop. I hate to say it but I was totally disappointed!!! We both agreed that our sandwiches were bland, the crab was cold, rolls were cheap & not worth the price tag. I also don't like the fact you have to pay before you dine in; which is self seating. The waitress however; was lovely. I Will definitely be back though. I want to see what the chicken and waffles are hitting for. Perhaps I went on a bad day.

Food and customer service were fantastic! Casual ambiance. Very family friendly We had the shrimp and grits, french toast, deluxe and the salmon hoagie.

The food was delicious. I had the Double The Pleasure French Toast. I loved the spicy mixed with the sweet taste of the syrup. The woman who took my order at the front was very pleasant and friendly. I decided to get the Salmon cheesesteak "to go." I thought it was good. Without the sauce, it would have been just OK. They were out of biscuits and gravy, but my coworkers and I all said we would come back for those and try the shrimp and grits. I'm glad we got there at 10:30am, because by noon it began getting crowded.

Ordered an Egg and Cheese sandwich, grits and fried potatoes through GrubHub. One word: BUSSIN! The grits are super flavorful, the eggs were soft and buttery, and the fried potatoes were soft with onions and peppers sautéed just right. I might just start eating meat again (pause) to try the other things on the menu. These folks know what they're doing.

You know those places that say they are open until a specific time but when you get there they say the kitchen is closed. This is one. Try to get there at least half hour before "closing" or you wont get your food. Horrible!!! What a waste of a trip!

FoodChaser's Kitchen is located in Elkins Park near the Elkins Park train station. Sitting up on a hill, it's not hard to find. FoodChaser's is owned by two retired school principals that happen to be identical twin sisters. We met Maya and Kala Johnstone when we first arrived and they met us with a friendly smile. The twins were more than happy to help us decide what was good on the menu. After they took our order we were escorted to the back where the seating area is. The dinning room is small, maybe about 10 tables and a sofa that you could also sit on to eat. The vibe was nice with oldies playing in the background. With so many great choices, I decided on the "Go big or go home" platter. This consists of, French toast, Turkey bacon, home fries and two eggs. My husband decided on the "Ocean" omelet, which has Crabmeat and shrimp in a Cajun cream sauce. Eggs were nice and fluffy, home fries crispy, coffee, hot. The service was a little slow and I had to catch a waiter as they passed by when I needed something ( water, extra napkins etc.). Other than that everything was fine. We both really enjoyed our meal. After you receive your bill, you pay at the door as you are are leaving. I will definitely go back to support this black owned business and try some of their other dishes.

I give it three stars for flavor, presentation and sweet twin sisters.... It's a weird type of café situation if you choose to eat in inside. When entering the establishment, you have to order your food at the front and then go find a seat. I felt a little pressured to make a decision because people were entering at the front door and we had a large group, so I didn't want to miss our opportunity to sit down... No water was given, so you'll have to purchase your bottled beverages at the front inside the fridge unless you get coffee or tea. You get your silverware once your food is brought to the table. If you're in a large group, all food is not brought out at the same time. Some of our food, like the eggs were slightly cold. Now who wants cold eggs? They also needed a little cleaning, the plants on the table were sticky and nasty from previous guest. However, all the food was very tasty but a bit over priced. I paid $28 for crab and shrimp over grits. 4 large shrimp and little pieces of scattered cold crab meat with cheese. They're a very nice family and one of the twins brother looks just like Jim Jones from the dipset....lol

Foodchasers Kitchen is a new Black and woman owned cafe at the intersection of Montgomery Avenue and High School Road, Elkins Park, PA. The entrance is on Montgomery, but is elevated above street level overlooking High School Road, with entry on the wooden deck that compensates for the hill on which they cling. There is one large dining room with the cashier down the long hall at the main door. The menu focuses on grits, eggs and a few excellent accompaniments, like fresh salmon, shrimp and homemade turkey sausage. I opted for their breakfast sandwich with eggs, turkey sausage and habanero cheddar cheese in a long roll. Coffee came along for the ride. Their deal is that the order is taken by the cashier when you walk in, before moving to the main room where you seat yourself and await service directly to your table. You can also scan a bar code with your phone and enter the order yourself after providing your name, which is called out when the server is carrying your food into the hall. 1970 -80 Soul music playing the classics fills the room. I looked around and saw others, like me, singing along quietly in our best Blues Soul voices. This was more than just breakfast, it was morning entertainment to get the day started. As I waited, one of the sister-owners walked around offering samples of their Spicy Salmon Sandwich to everyone. It was terrific and I immediately considered changing my order to grab this delight. A little messy from the mayo extruding from within, it was amazing. The fish was fresh, lightly baked/grilled, with their spiced up mayo holding it all together between the halves of a long fresh deli roll. Tremendous creation. I only hoped that my request was done as well. I shouldn't have had a moment of doubt, because the Egg, Turkey Sausage and Habanero was just as delicious, but obviously with a different flavor profile. The eggs were silky smooth, the ground sausage filled the bottom of the roll with a savoriness made by loving hands and secret recipes, and the spicy cheese kicked it all up into something completely unexpected. It was hot and hotter, and smooth and slathered in that same mayo that hinted of sweetness as it lubricated the pipes on the way down. The Java was strong enough and complemented the spiciness of the habanero and mayo. Couldn't stop myself from licking my fingers. All in all, this was a superior breakfast not available in any Philly diner. It was unique and a wonderful morning breakfast tangent to explore, and ultimately fill the belly. Foodchaser Kitchen will likely be another of the best meals of 2022. It was very special.

My wife, Lil Man and I enjoyed our time, enjoyed your delicious food and your staff were great. The ambiance there was wonderful with pictures of your food travels and framed quotes. We highly recommend and will be back soon.

I went here on a Sunday morning and it was very busy. My family and I waited 15-30 minutes for a table. The food was great. I had the Brezzy but I wish it came with strawberries on top. My sister had the Spciy French Toast and my mom had the Shrimp and Grits, those were really good as well. Just make sure you get there early so you don't wait too long.

I was excited to try a local black owned and women-owned business. And let me tell you they did NOT disappoint. The service was impeccable. Very nice girls running food and behind the counter. Food was incredible, I got the honey hot shrimp over French toast. The menu is small, but the food is VERY much quality. 10/10 would recommend!

The food that I've had from your restaurant but the last two times there has been a problem. These may not be your errors but they reflect on you. Once you said you sent it out but it was never received. This time it was too late to order but it wasn't turned off on black and moble. Also voicemail was full. I am disabked so would not be able to pick up an order. I hope to taste your wondetful breakfast some time in the future. * the food is very tasty!

I really hate leaving bad reviews but I'm quite hangry as I write this. I'm working in the area today. First visit to this restaurant. I walked in and placed an order at 12:52pm. One simple catfish platter. Four people who came in at the same time received their orders and left about 40-45 mins into my wait. Uber type orders were being filled. But my in person order wasn't ready over an hour later. At 2:18pm I requested a refund. i initially tipped on my order. The tip was not refunded.. I'm rating the experience. Because I have no clue what the food tastes like. Someone in the line said "I feel your pain, but the food is worth it.." No. it's not. It couldn't be. I'm highly disappointed.

Delicious food. Wonderful, friendly service. This definitely isn't a place you can frequent often if you care about not having clogged arteries but it is absolutely worth it as an occasional stop for brunch. A special shout out to the shrimp and grits - that is a must try. Pro tip: go with a group so you can try a little bit of what everyone orders.

This place had been on my radar for a while. A friend and I went today. I had the cream chicken jawn cheesesteak which eas super delicious. It came with a seafood cream sauce (like an Alfredo) that totally worked with the sandwich. The fries were really good too. My friend had the catfish hoagie. First of all it was huge pieces of catfish fried and seasoned perfectly. The only thing that threw me off was that they required you to order and pay first before you are seated. Not a deal beaker, I just had never heard of that. All in all the experience was great. I'll definitely be back!

The review is based on customer service alone arrived at 12:30 and still was not seated as of 3PM. Having an event and taking takeout orders at the same time while simultaneously having people wait for inside seating was a complete disaster. I can't rate the food because it became abundantly clear no one knew when a table would become available.

Can't offer a real review because I spent most of my time waiting in line! First, I had to wait an hour AFTER opening because they had to prep food and we were offered coffee while we wait. After they finally opened doors, we had to wait in line, no one was at the front to greet us, no one knew if they were waiting for order pick up or to be seated. There was someone working but kept avoiding the crowd. A customer had to walk to the back to find someone and was told there would be a 40 min wait. I left. I would love to try the food but that wait and lack communication to customers was ridiculous. I understand things happen but that was not cool.

Having ordered from FoodChasers previously and enjoying my food so much, I decided to treat a friend. I found a reservation system online and submitted what I thought was my reservation. I even decided on 11:30 thinking that it might not yet be entertaining a lunchtime crowd. When I got there, the restaurant was full with a few people standing, but I did notice a table for 2 in the back. The young lady at the desk said that she did not find my reservation, so I would be considered a "walk-in". It did not matter what I insisted- if she heard me say to someone that I submitted a reservation, she would say over the crowd, "She's a walk-in." She told me the wait would be about 45 min. and possibly closer to an hour. I mentioned that I noticed their tables on the deck were empty, and that we would be willing to sit out there. My friend came and we retreated to the outside. We saw no less than 70-80 more people coming in and out as we waited. Some came out and said they were waiting for take out for 40-45 minutes. Others just left. A couple who arrived before me continued to wait as well. After that couple's hour was up, the husband went in and came back. 15 minutes later, he went in, came back out in about 10 minutes and said to his wife, "Never again." Now waiting almost an hour and 15 minutes, I went in and saw people about to be seated who had arrived in the last 10-15 minutes! I asked when we were going to be seated, and this same person said, "Oh well they've been waiting and so have these teachers, so you'll be after them." I said, "What? They just came. I've been here well over an hour." She then said we could order and then be seated. Then she said, "Oh wait, these people are before you." Whaaaattt? My friend said she needed to leave and go back to work, PLUS we had to pay for meters which were going to be running out. I left feeling mistreated and disrespected, and say the same as the other couple, "Never again!"

The food here is always fresh and delicious. I have tasted several different entrees on the menu and I have never been disappointed. My goto is the Salmon and grits, but this time I tried the shrimp and crab grits. It was mouth watering good. The grits are always so smooth and creamy. You have to try the food here. Great service, delicious food! You will be a repeat customer like myself. Ohh!!! The French Toast .........................just try it.

Food is Pure Gangsta,and the Twins that prepare it.Whew!.They have Mad Skillz in the kitchen. I am a cook myself and I bake,and I know Great preparation of food when I see It and taste of it.God Bless them both.

The restaurant is small for the amount of patrons coming through. I would suggest getting there by 10 am if you want to be seated immediately. There should be two hosts in the front taking orders, prior to being seated. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was delicious. The fried chicken wings were crispy but had no seasoning. Other than that, it's a nice place to eat.

Amazing consistent food!! Even when crowded they have a way of making you feel welcomed and comfortable while waiting. They also give you updates and suggestions which is awesome!

I started my birthday celebration off with breakfast. My cousin recommended this place. I must say the food and service is AWESOME! I not only ate there for my birthday but I went back the following day with my sister, daughter and grandchildren

I got the salmon cheese steak and let me tell you, it was so good. My only issue is that it was kind of pricy and didn't include fries for the price. But other than that it was really good. I would love to try the other items they have. They look really tasty. I can't wait for them to have later hours!

We were really excited to try this local place. The environmen was amazing but the food not so much. My French toast wasn't cooked all the way through I barely ate any. My eggs were salty and the shrimp was soggy the sauce however was good. we waited almost and hour and a half for our food to come out which is just ridiculous since there was only two of us and both meals were very simple. I would try again just to give a chance to redeem themselves but this place will not become a usual spot for me as of now.

I have been a follower of the Food Chasers for YEARS and always enjoyed their social media content so I was looking forward to trying the restaurant. My first time ordering, I got a cheesesteak which was good. The roll was VERY soft and fresh and the steak was tender (not chewy or overcooked). I wouldn't make a special trip here for a cheesesteak or put it on any list of top cheesesteaks, but it was decent! My second experience was for breakfast. I got the catfish plate with a side of grits and my friend got the "Go Big or Go Home" (French toast platter). My order came with one medium sized piece of fried fish served on top of the eggs and potatoes - which thought was a strange presentation but of course it didn't impact the taste. The eggs and potatoes were fine, nothing special. The grits were just that - gritty aka undercooked. They also smothered the grits in some kind of cream sauce which was ok as far as taste goes, but there was just so much of it that it was overpowering after a few bites. The French toast was disappointing. I believe it was made with potato bread and just was unremarkable: No cinnamon sugar on top, no brioche bread, no love, nit wasn't even browned, just yellow (from the egg) warm bread. Overall the food was just OK both times. The breakfast experience sealed the deal for me that I probably won't go back. I love that they have found such success and I will continue to be a social media supporter!! I was expecting to be blown away after spending $45 for 2 breakfasts but my summation is that the food was no better than ordering from a pizza shop (for the cheesesteak) or any random breakfast spot on the Ave.

My sister suggested that we try this place that see saw on TikTok of all places. I'm so glad we took the chance! Absolutely delicious! Probably the best buffalo chicken cheesesteak I've ever had and I've been eating cheesesteaks my whole life. The bread was super soft and the buffalo chicken was packed to the brim and flavorful. My wife had the special Mardi Gras pasta with salmon...it was amazing. It was so much she's already had 2 servings and can get a 3rd easy. My sister had the salmon cheesesteak and couldn't stop herself from the whole thing. The portions and flavor were worth the price and I'll definitely be going back.

This place is good! They opened a month ago and I have been twice. Anything with the grits, get it!! French toast is amazing- with the spicy shrimp, but I'm sure all the French toast is good. I'll def be back to try some more off the menu.

We've driven from DC, multiple times since FCK opened its doors. Literally planning our next visit as we speak. From the grits, to the lamb, to the INFAMOUS JERK CHEESESTEAK!!! You will be highly pleased with your experience. The business is family owned and operated and each aspect, upon entering their doors, down to the daily menu selections, are all strategic but most importantly, centered with love. Get there. Quick!

The salmon steak is a great treat! Treat yourself! The sandwich is flavorful and quite filling. Highly recommended! AND BREAKFAST ... no worries it's all a wonderful way to start your day... the cheesy grits or the tasty pancakes ..enjoy! ora

I was very excited to eat here, I knew it was black-owned and I was excited about that. The food was good. I had the spicy chicken tenders and French toast. The one thing I would like to see them do differently is take orders once you are seated not standing at the front. I understand that it's a small place all the more reason to seat people then take there orders so they can figure out what they may want to eat. If not make it a take-out-only spot. Also people should not have to pay before they eat at a sit in spot.

Tried the Jalen special and it tasted like a fumble in the Super Bowl? Weird I ate half of it then choked on the rest... guess Jalen really made it

The managers/ owners were present and very friendly. It was very hot inside. The fish was very hot but my eggs and potatoes were cold underneath. The food was t what I expected. . The place itself was very loud. I would give 6/10.

I recommend the Jawn it was the best thing that I tasted. The wait is long as each dish is prepared as ordered. My experience had challenges so my best advice is to order and pick up and enjoy at home z

What a disappointing experience! I waited over 50 minutes for an order of shrimp and grits, and two biscuits. My food was ice cold, and tasted just okay. Definitely not worth waiting almost an hour for a takeout order.

I gave this business 3 opportunities. Unfortunately, it was an epic fail each time. The customer service is poor. The first time the quality of the food was bad. The second time was with my bookclub in the so-called VIP room. Nothing was set up, we had an extremely long wait, and no apology. The last time I invited friends from out of town to brunch. All was going OK until I asked about a pick up order. I had to wait over an hour for a pick up order that was to be ready at an earlier specified time on a text message. I even had to walk away from a worker yelling because I asked about the status of the pick up order. Unbelievable! An owner came out to see what was going on; however, she did not handle the situation well. All she was concerned about was the food. My friends were upset too. This business is unprofessional and totally clueless when it comes to customer service. Three strikes and your out FoodChasers. Your food is good; however, you are missing the mark with how you treat customers. Learn how to treat customers and in the words of Maya Angelou, "then when you know better, do better."

Going into the shop I heard a lot of the outside noise, the doubters you could say. The food analyst claimed that this steak called The Jalen Special couldn't be an elite steak. Well the Jalen Special made them eat their words. After extreme hard work and effort to make perfection, this steak has met the standard. I can say this confidently that the jobs finished. You have yourself an MVP here. Go Birds!

You order and pay for your food AND 25% gratuity before you are seated if you are a party of 5 or more. A host does not show you to your table, condiments were not properly provided with your food, it is BYOB that's nice but we had to hunt down a staff member to request glasses, orange juice, water, coffee, and anything else we needed. Food taste was ok, not great but not bad. Overall just a horrible experience. I do not recommend and will not be going back.

The atmosphere is fun and very welcoming!!! The food is great! My favorite dish is the chicken and shrimp pasta. My ultimate goal is to try a new dish each time!!! I guess that means I will be going there for a very long time because they have sooooo many options and on top of that, they ALWAYS have a few SURPRISE dishes!!! T.D. Allen
