"Co-founder and chef of this upmarket spot, the late Yeung Koon-yat – aka the "abalone king" – created the iconic Ah Yat braised abalone decades ago. To this day, it remains the speciality that attracts food-loving crowds from near and far. As well as the tender and flavourful abalone, classics such as pan-seared leopard coral grouper fillet and baked stuffed crab shell are nicely made. The extensive wine list showcases boutique wineries." - Michelin Inspector

Forum restaurant is really good, live up to the Michelin three star expectation. Came here to try their abalone, and it was fantastic! We ordered the amidori abalone (can upgrade in set meal), and it is the best that we have ever eaten! Their set meal are really value for money, you get to try signature dishes like abalone, shark fin soup, crispy chicken, signature fried rice and bird nest. All are outstanding! If you have bigger budget, this is definitely the most recommended restaurant in Hong Kong!

This restaurant is absolutely not worthy of three Michelin stars. There are serious questions about how it received them. It doesn’t even deserve a recommendation. The food was terrible. The soup we had to pre-order for 3,000 HKD was completely tasteless, and the rest of the dishes were just as bad. They don’t refill the tea, and the service is zero. As soon as you start saying something is not good, the staff suddenly don’t understand English. All the tableware is old and chipped. It shows complete disrespect to the guests. The tablecloths are cheap and wrinkled. I felt like leaving right away, and I should have. Strongly not recommended. There are plenty of much better restaurants in Hong Kong.

Valentine’s dinner at @forumrestaurant1977 Famous for their abalone. They had a unique sweet and sour pork with Mandarin peel and we tried stinky tofu which was really stinky and tasted stinky 🤣 Everything was good - unagi soy sauce, forum crispy chicken, lobster 🦞 diced beef, fried noodles, braised oxtail, crab shell, ahyat fried rice, braised rice

Rather average dim sums from a 3-star restaurant. The pan-fried rice roll with XO sauce wasn’t crispy and the “XO” element of the XO sauce wasn’t very prominent, it tasted more like soy sauce. The steamed scallop dumplings were very dry. The crispy eel with spicy salt was a bit soggy. The deep-fried mashed taro with hairy crab roe pastries were nicely fried and weren’t oily, however, not entirely sure about the combination of hairy crab roe and taro personally. The highlight of the meal of the foie gras fried rice. Very nicely done. The chunks of foie gras provided the savouriness needed for the otherwise rather bland fried rice. Service was above-average but not outstanding.

The food and service at Forum Restaurant are excellent, and the ambiance is refined, making it a great spot for special occasions. However, I personally feel that the pricing is slightly higher compared to some other places offering similar quality dishes. While the experience was enjoyable overall, I believe there are other options that provide better value for money. That said, if you’re looking for a premium dining experience, Forum Restaurant does deliver.

Maybe don't serve the tasting menu during lunch time if you can't even be bothered to explain each dish except to point at what it is on the menu? I saw others only opting for dim sum during the day so perhaps that's the way to go. Mediocre food where each dish took forever to arrive, and unexceptional service with staff quite warm and friendly to certain patrons - that was certainly not our case. Definitely do not recommend the tasting menu during lunch time. Won't be going back for dinner so will never know if things are better then.

Food was very good. But the service and timing of the dishes was subpar. Table is that set after us consistently got serviced first, including dishes ordering, etc. After we got our check, our final dish arrived.

Always a great meal at this three Michelin starred Chinese restaurant conveniently located in causeway bay. Appreciate how reasonably priced and easy to book it is for a well known restaurant like this. I consider it to be one of the best spots to eat with family given the spacious, cozy, clean environment and absolutely delicious food along with good, personable service. First time trying the 炸子雞 (crispy fried chicken) here and yes, of course the chicken is good, but the chips are absolutely mind blowing!! It doesn’t taste too fried or “yeethey” but sooo crunchy & flavorful.
