Imagine this: we had a 6:00pm reservation at FOWL for two, with theatre plans at 7:30pm — so timing mattered. Unfortunately, tube delays meant we were running late. We tried to get signal underground without success, and as soon as we surfaced the restaurant called. We let them know we were nearby — by then it was already 6:30pm.
They told us it was fine, and when we arrived we were seated immediately. After a brisk walk to get there, they proactively offered us water, which was much appreciated.
Not realising FOWL was a proper sit-down restaurant, we were a bit anxious about timing given our theatre start, so we ordered straight away. Less than 10 minutes later, the food arrived — and it was absolutely delicious.
We ordered the Korean-style chicken wings, chicken strips with a subtle Thai twist, smashed cucumber, warm focaccia with buffalo butter, and the FOWL burger. Everything was excellent, but my personal favourites were the focaccia with buffalo butter and the salted chicken chips — perfectly crunchy with just the right seasoning. Some of the best chips I’ve had.
We paid and left by 7:10pm, making it to the theatre right on time. We were genuinely impressed by both the service and the food. My only regret is having to rush, because everything was so good you just want to enjoy it properly. I can’t wait to dine here again.
