"Frank & Angie’s, a Sicilian-American restaurant in Downtown Austin, is closing. The restaurant, opened in 1995 by owners Mike and Kim Hutchinson, offers a variety of Sicilian-American dishes, including giant 18-inch pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, and desserts. The decision to close was influenced by affordability issues and high taxes in Austin’s Central Business District. Despite announcing the closure in August, the restaurant has been busier than usual." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Essential Austin pizzeria Frank & Angie’s is closing, as reported by KXAN. Owner Mike Hutchinson said the closing date will be announced sometime soon in the following several weeks. The shutter won’t happen for several months, as reported by Chronicle. Frank & Angie’s, which opened in 1995, focused on Sicilian-American dishes. This meant pizza, along with bruschetta, plenty of pastas, salads, sandwiches, and desserts, including cannoli and tiramisu, plus wine and beer. The name was inspired by Frank Sinatra and Hutchinson’s mother, Angie." - Nadia Chaudhury

This place is an old-school pizzeria that is totally freaking awesome! I loved the New York-styled pizza crust, it was so good! The decor is very cool...the menu has many dishes named after Hollywood stars: DeNiro, Tarantino, etc. Highly recommend!

Always amazing food! The Chicken Parmagiano is my go-to dinner plate. When we are out with another couple, we always go for pizza. The Chairman of the Board is our signature pie, but we also venture down the menu to try a new flavor each time. This one was the Sergio Leone, and it was spectacular!

I had not been to Frank and Angie's in years. I used to love going here. Couldn't stop thinking about a calzone so thought I'd pop it. Still a great spot but the calzone at Rounders kills it... was a little disappointed. That said, I'm defo coming back soon to get my old faithful lunch special of salad and a slice for $7. Big old slice with two toppings and a good sized house salad with their delicious homemade bread. The only place that can compare is Conan's slice and salad combo. I should have stuck with what I know and like. The calzone was fine but a little small and dry. Now I know.

Loved the spaghetti and meatballs, and the garlic bread add-on was definitely worth it. Hands down best pasta for the price, and in my opinion better than some pricier options.

The first time we went there, we ordered a pizza with garlic and spinach. We couldn't believe it when they served it... it had probably two entire heads of whole roasted sweet garlic and fresh spinach that was wilting over the hot cheese. It was incredibly good. Great pizzas, great price, no frills service to keep the overhead down, but still a cozy and fun place.

Overall a really cute restaurant! The pasta dishes are amazing and seem very homemade! The pizzas are very good as well. Sometimes they really load the sauce on those pizzas, but hey, it's the Italian way. The atmosphere is cute but not 5-star rating. They also deliver which is very handy. I would recommend this place for a nice family meal. Very well done. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So delicious! Killer marinara sauce and meatballs! Pizza was bursting with veggies and very flavorful. Side salad was average. Garlic bread was really good, and not too rich. Megan was a wonderful server, and her trainee Chris was fabulous! Excellent service and food, and cozy atmosphere. Next time, we won't eat so much so we can try the cannolis. Looking forward to the next time!

Nice atmosphere, good service, and great prices. However food was not great. I realize we ordered a cheese pizza but we did ask for light cheese and we asked for the pizza to be extra There was SO much cheese it was almost inedible and it was undercooked to our taste.. Also, seemed to be a mushroom in the pizza. My husband is very allergic and the waiter seemed unconcerned when we asked avout it. We didn't take the left overs home out of concern . Even though we live across the street, I doubt we will return.
