The 25 Best Restaurants In New Orleans - New Orleans - The Infatuation

"The biggest Haitian celebrity might be Wyclef Jean, but we’d like to start a petition to change that to Fritai (and yes, we think this restaurant qualifies as a celebrity). They really rep the island hard with a flag outside, bright decor, kompa music, and amazing passion fruit wings, plantain sandwiches with fried pork and spicy pikliz, and smothered greens. They did all these dishes when they were a pop-up at St. Roch Market, but at their new Treme corner spot, they also have delicious plates of goat and grilled shrimp to love. The cocktails are like none other in the city, using spirits and juices straight from Haiti and other parts of the Caribbean. Try a clarin flight and have a Kremas coconut rum punch for dessert." - chelsea brasted, zella palmer, carlo mantuano, megan braden perry

The 38 Best Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Chef Charly Pierre’s Fritai is one of New Orleans’s best tropical restaurants, a vividly decorated, welcoming hub for Haitian specialties and exciting cocktails in Treme. The drinks to try are made with the Haitian spirit clairin, and all pair well with dishes like the Fritai sandwich, made with tender pulled pork between two fried plantains with avocado, mango sauce, and pikliz (a spicy Haitian slaw); espageti (Haitian spaghetti) with smoked herring; and mirliton (also known as chayote) salad with grilled carrot and candied plantain." - Beth D’Addono
