Neal Fraser’s fried chicken - “naked” or buttermilk-coated - with curly fries, tater tots & salads.
"Situated by some of the flashier stalls inside the market, you might pass Fritzi Coop a few times before noticing it, but this tiny chicken specialist is absolutely worth a visit. There’s excellent chicken across the board here—from grilled “naked” style to full-fried and spicy tenders—but our go-to order is the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Filled with a massive piece of crimson red chicken slathered in spicy oil and a generous handful of jalapeno slaw, this is one of the better hot chicken sandwiches in LA, which in this town, is saying something. The sandwich itself comes at three spice levels (hot, hotter, and inferno), and while we don’t want to put anyone in harm’s way, our move is always the inferno." - brant cox
"Fritzi Coop serves excellent chicken from inside The Grove’s Farmers Market, ranging from their grilled “naked” style to full fried and spicy tenders. Their delicious Nashville hot chicken sandwiches begin with fresh brioche buns that are shiny enough to see your hungry reflection in. They then get filled with a big piece of crimson red chicken slathered in spicy oil, as well as a generous handful of jalapeno slaw that’s drenched in a red vinegar sauce. Some sweet pickles are tossed into the mix to turn down the heat before things take a turn for the dangerously spicy. Fritzi Coop also gets bonus points for ditching standard fries for some fresh curly fries and tater tots on the side, which you can dip into barbecue, Louisiana, buffalo sauce, or roasted garlic aioli." - sylvio martins
"As soon as Fritzi opened in the Arts District, it immediately became the casual order-at-the-counter spot the neighborhood needed. No crazy lines or aggressive shtick, just a fun chicken-focused restaurant with good food (their rotisserie chicken can’t be beat) and a laid-back atmosphere that’ll get you in and out in under a half hour. Bonus: If you’re drinking next door at the Arts District Brewing, you can order anything off the Fritzi menu from there as well." - Brant Cox

"Fritzi Coop isn’t some new player on the hot chicken scene. Founded by star chef Neal Fraser in 2016, this tiny takeout operation at the Original Farmers Market continues to showcase Nashville flavors in sandwiches, by the bucket, or on top of curly fries for those that need a real jolt." - Farley Elliott
