Go to the New Omakase Restaurant Right When It Opens | Eater

"A small, newly opened Chelsea omakase that debuted a $65 menu for 12 pieces of fish plus two appetizers; an early visit found it solid, with standout bites like raw scallop, torched hamachi, and uni. The compact format (limited seating and no hood) minimizes timing issues common at new restaurants, and the initial low price and attentive service seem intended to generate buzz—though prices are likely to rise as the place gains traction." - Caleb Pershan

Tucked into the stylish rhythm of Chelsea, the new Fumo location is a refined yet inviting destination for anyone who appreciates exceptional food in a beautifully designed space. The restaurant retains its signature aesthetic; rough and amorphous white brick walls, lush green plants, gold accent metal details and glowing white globe lights; all combining to create an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and effortlessly sophisticated. But let’s talk about the star of the show: the food. Fumo’s menu continues to deliver hits, starting with their iconic brick oven pizzas. I keep coming back for the Vodka Sauce Pizza, creamy and rich, especially with added grilled chicken. The Roni Pizza is a meat lover’s dream, and the Fumo Burger is stacked, juicy, and satisfying. And don’t overlook their pastas; every dish is thoughtfully prepared and deeply comforting. If you’re starting with appetizers, you can not miss the Spicy Calamari; perfect texture , perfectly seasoned, and with just the right kick. But the true standout for me was their Tuna Tartare on the special menu; served on a bed of cucumber, with avocado, and red pepper, with a gentle heat that elevates every bite. It’s refreshing, vibrant, and absolutely addictive. What makes Fumo Chelsea even more special is the warmth of the experience. The owners greet every guest like family; true to Italian hospitality and it shows in the energy of the space. And of course, the cocktails. Their happy hour is a must, especially for fans of the Fumo Aperol Spritz. They also serve a fantastic wine selection and several original cocktails; don’t leave without trying the Lorenzo’s Aperol Spritz, Lorenzo’s Gin & Atonic, or the romantic Lorenzo’s Love Spritz. Whether you’re a New Yorker or just passing through, make sure Fumo Chelsea or any of their other locations is on your list. Come for the food, stay for the vibe, and leave with a new favorite spot. Your taste buds will thank you.

Food is amazing. They have pastas for $12 from 11am-4pm Mon-Friday and on Sundays it’s $12 ALL DAY! Sundays are actually the best time to go! The presentation of food is amazing, pasta is always cooked to perfection, Aldente just how I like it, my favorite pasta is the “spaghetti vongole” - it comes with a ton of clams! 😋 Portions are big!! You can dine alone or come with friends, or a date lol. The music is great, it definitely sets the vibe! Most Italian restaurants don’t play hip hop and Afro beats and r&b but they do! It’s such a vibe, haven’t had the drinks but I saw someone having Mimosas and I want to try that next time and it’s bottomless so why not. The desert is yummy too, fruits are fresh and again the presentation is perfect for photos, vlogging, tik tok etc!! If you love pasta this is definitely a place you must give a visit! My favorite location is the Chelsea one!!

Good food, great atmosphere and service. The baked clams were just a little too oily and made me nauseous. I'm used to the base being more of a savory broth.

My favorite spot in Chelsea area! Such a relaxing atmosphere, amaizing italian-inspired menu (my favorite is spicy calamari!) and great coctails. Got a perfectly made espresso martini there👌

Me and a friend walked in on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised that they had ample seating. The service was great, the food was delicious. I got the chicken and waffles, my friend got the breakfast carbonara and we shared truffle fries. The servings were very generous! I would like to try their other menus in the near future.

Had delivered on two occasions and never again. Ordered spaghetti ($22) with one request: "Please put enough sauce on it!" It's even on the receipt. Instead, I got a pile of noodles with virtually NO sauce on it at all. And to be clear - there was NO sauce under the noodles either. Grrrr. They clearly do not care. Ordered a side of garlic bread ($7). See accompanying pictures. Enough said. Will never order from them again.

We had a pretty pleasant evening here, nothing great but nice. Cauliflower bread tasty, Calamari a little bland but served with a generous amount of sauce. Eggplant Parma very tasty. Pasta delicious and service efficient and speedy. VERY dimily lit, couldn't read the menu without holding a candle to it .

I was really excited to try the new restaurant in the neighborhood, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I sat down. Everything felt dirty, from the plates to the water pitcher. It completely ruined what I hoped would be an enjoyable visit.
