Gaba Restaurante

A solid experience. We were back and forth about making a resy but went for it due to the reviews my friend gave us. We eat halal/pescatarian and it had so many options for us. Also, love how the waitress explained the menu in detail and each dish as it was served. The dishes are made to share so was perfect for date night. Thoroughly enjoyed every dish which was made to perfection. It is unlike anything we have ever had with such unique flavors. We ordered the grape salad, the caramelized cabbage, and the catch of the day. Bill was $100 with tip.

Incredible dining experience in an intimate space! They accommodated us at the chef’s counter even though we walked in without a reservation. From the first moment we were made to feel welcome. Our server was highly attentive from start to finish. He took the time to make recommendations and explain each dish and wine pairing. When he found out we loved mezcal, he took the time to think and write down a list of his favorite bottles we could buy at the airport on our way back home. We tried the crudo (exceptional), the Pork Tomahawk Berkshire with Roasted Pineapple and for dessert, the flan. All mouthwateringly good! Great selection of white and red wine. We loved watching the cooks prepare and plate the food beautifully. The star chef made an appearance too. Clearly he is very involved in every aspect/detail and it shows. Would highly recommend when in Condesa. I hesitate writing this review as I realize when word gets out, IG influencers will descend and make it virtually impossible to book or simply walk in like we did. It’s still very much under the radar (mostly locals dine here).

First and foremost congratulations on your mention this past weekend in the New York Times article 36 hours in Mexico City! Bravo 🙌 We dined at Gaba this past Saturday night and everything was absolutely amazing right from the start. From the attentive service to the delicious and well prepared food, all were truly outstanding. We had the unique grape salad and Macadamia nuts along with the Chayote, Fava beans & Anchovies both delicious and for our main course, the pork tomahawk with grilled pineapple for 2 person and it was perfection… We had a delicious bottle of Grenache and which complimented all of our dishes. Jaz, the GM of this wonderful restaurant also was one of the highlights with her attention to detail along with Achilles who was so friendly and took the time to walk us out of the restaurant and thank us for our visit! We look forward to returning!

Made a last minute reservation to Gaba after reading the reviews and it mostly lived up to the hype. Cozy ambiance and great music that fits the vibe. No tasting menu when I visited. Got 3 appetizers, 1 main, 1 dessert and a mocktail and the bill was below $100 USD. All 3 appetizers were delicious- crudo, nduja toast and wagyu tartar. Wagyu and crudo were my favorite. For the main, I got sweetbreads with chileatole Verde because the portion size for this main was comparatively smaller than the other mains. This dish fell short of my expectations - nothing that stood out. The guava mocktail was also okay. The flan was great- definitely the highlight. The service was great and the servers were very attentive. Overall, Gaba is a good restaurant for fine dining experience with reasonable prices.

Absolutely incredible dining experience at Gaba! From the moment we arrived, the service was top notch, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. We showed up earlier than our reservation, and they still welcomed us with water and snacks while we waited. Throughout dinner, the staff checked in often to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying everything. Now the food... Just wow. Every dish was creative, balanced, and bursting with flavor. You can tell there’s real thought and technique behind everything that comes out of the kitchen. We ordered the ’Nduja toast, grape salad, lamb neck, and avocado mousse cake, and all four were phenomenal. The ’Nduja toast was the perfect mix of creamy, spicy, and tangy, the cheese spread and savory sausage paired beautifully. The grape salad completely blew me away!! Sweet grapes, fresh herbs, XO sauce, and crème fraîche somehow come together in this refreshing and addictive mix. My favorite dish of the night! The lamb neck was melt-in-your-mouth tender with rich, deep flavors and an amazing broth. For dessert, the avocado mousse cake was a revelation. The avocado crème was silky and fresh, and the ice cream foams on top (creamy clouds of texture) added lightness and airiness to round it all out. Side note: the mocktails are delicious and refreshing! Everything here feels thoughtful and inventive without being pretentious. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Mexico City. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they earn a Michelin star soon. Highly recommend to anyone visiting CDMX!

Recommended to us by chef Santiago of Maizajo, we already knew it had to be good but wow, Gaba, what an experience! Creative, delicious and fun! Great mixes of textures and flavours - don’t miss the pâté or the nopal sorbet. Hard to pick favourites (DO NOT miss the flan) as I have to go back to make sure I try everything on that menu - looking forward to those pastor lettuce tacos! See you again soon 🙏

Great tasting food. Went with a group so ordered a lot of Food to share. got a chance to try most of the menu. The stand out dishes were the pork chop and the clams.

We booked ahead and had a great dinner at Gaba. The food was both familiar and innovative--with creative, flavorful takes on dishes. We started with a really rich chicken liver pate with hibiscus gel on sourdough, followed by ribbons of chayote with several flavors that popped, then had the grilled fish of the day (red snapper) with was perfect, and finished off the the avocado dessert and an incredible flan with mascarpone. There's a good wine list too. Everything was thoughtfully presented, expertly conceived, and delivered with poise. A great meal.
