The Best Lebanese Restaurants In London

"If you’re unable to leave your politics at the door, then Gadz may not be for you. The Lebanese spot in Finsbury Park is a Jeremy Corbyn fan club disguised as a coffee shop and deli. Pictures of the ex-Labour leader line the wall and the owner is as committed as they come. He’s also got a fair bit of enthusiasm for Elvis too. Heroes aside, this place is excellent for a falafel-based lunch. Freshly made falafels are crisp and soft, glowing green from broad beans as is the Lebanese recipe. Salad boxes, drizzled in tahini and pomegranate molasses, are also a great shout." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing

Where To Find London’s Best Falafel

"Perhaps best known for its teenage fandom-like Corbyn worship (think Smash Hits or Match magazine wallpaper cutouts, but with the 70-something MP for Islington North), Gadz should also be known for its falafel wraps. The Lebanese cafe in Finsbury Park makes its falafel fresh and it comes out both crisp and soft, as well a little crumbly. Filling-wise, the tabbouleh salad has crunch and a sweet but sharp hit of vinegar and pomegranate molasses. Ask for a generous helping of hummus and tahini just to be on the safe side when it comes to moisture." - jake missing

5 Meals For A Fiver: Finsbury Park

"Your order: Falafel wrap (£5) Falafel wraps aren’t as easy as they seem. They err between stodge and less internet-worthy versions of the cinnamon challenge, but Gadz’s is almost spot on. The freshly made warm falafel is both crisp and soft, the tabbouleh salad has crunch and a sweet but sharp hit of vinegar and pomegranate molasses, and then the whole thing is (perhaps controversially) stuck under a panini grill. You probably want to ask for a generous helping of hummus and tahini just to be on the safe side of moisture, but all in all, it’s a delicious, fresh option." - jake missing

Politicians’ Favourite London Restaurants for General Election 2019 - Eater London

"Jeremy Corbyn has many favourites — he’s a man of the people! He offered to do the dishes here! He also loves the falafel here! The rumour is that the cafe’s Christmas tree has a picture of him on the tree instead of an angel or a star." - Adam Coghlan, Apoorva Sripathi

Food was really poorly presented and some bits tasted off. Hardly any chicken shawarma in the box and the veggie option was terrible. Also we ordered spinach breads and they sent us sumac Waste of money and disappointing

A decent little cafe with a good selection of dishes, from homemade falafel to middle eastern desserts. All looked rather tasty. I went for the chicken shawarma for take out, thinking I would have a light lunch sitting in the park, seeing that dining in are prohibited during the lock down. I wasn’t quite anticipating the quantity of the dish - all the loveliness on the counter were stuffed into the takeout box, drizzled with chili and pomegranate sauce. The colour looked amazing. I would love to come back and try other dishes. Good price and great value.

Lovely and friendly owner! The falafel was nothing short of amazing! The homely decor makes it an overall wonderful small cosy place to have a short and relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of busy north London :)

A favourite local spot. Their falafel is the best I've tried in London. Very decently priced, very nice people. Arabic coffee also a must. One of the places where being vegetarian doesn't mean limiting flavours. Drop by.

Great little establishment just outside the tube station. We got there as it was shutting but the owner decided to keep it up, served us a few delicious kebabs and a soup that was outstanding. Would go again!

It’s never a habit of mine to review restaurants on google but Gadz cafe deserves this. I ordered a chicken shawarma box and received a falafel box instead but my goodness it was the best falafel that I tasted! The meal was fresh and healthy, great value for money too! What a lovely mistake that was!😂 I will definitely order again. Thank you, Gadz cafe! Keep it up!

Decent veggie/vegan menu. Warm friendly service and beautiful presentation. The food looks too good to eat. Notably more enjoyable to eat somewhere with hearts and pictures of Jeremy Corbyn everywhere

Love this cafe. Tasty, homely Mediterranean street food (with a special emphasis on Lebanese cuisine) which never fails to amaze me for its fresh ingredients. The salads and falafels are incredibly flavoursome and the portions really generous. The simple, unaffected hospitality of the owner gives it that great local touch, and if you sit in you're sure to find someone for an interesting and meaningful exchange. Tories better stay away though - the place is a Corbyn shrine and even boasts his eponymous dish, as it is a personal favourite of the longstanding Islington MP. One may or may not agree with his politics, but the man certainly knows one thing or two about food as the 'Corbyn' platter is indeed delicious!
