Gold-Covered Steaks From a Salt Bae Protégé Have Landed in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"In a long-empty LGD restaurant space formerly home to The Melting Pot, this “new age” steakhouse from Murat Nalcioglu opened with a splashy, Instagram-forward vibe—promising world-class DJs, custom neon fixtures, fine leather, custom tables, and aged bronze accents—and a menu that ranges from wagyu steak tartare and chargrilled octopus to a raw seafood feast, Alaskan king crab legs, rack of lamb, Beijing duck, a $26 “exotic salad,” and the $400 gold-covered steaks associated with Vegas-style fine dining." - Clair Lorell

Gold-Covered Steaks From a Salt Bae Protégé Are Coming to New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"I’m watching a Vegas-style steakhouse expected to open at 1820 St. Charles Avenue that promises DJs, chilled seafood towers, Instagram-worthy cocktails and even a “gold cage” for dry-aging steaks. Murat Nalcioglu — a partner in Atlanta’s Steak Market and former manager for Nusret Gökçe’s North American restaurants — is opening Gaia Steakhouse in the long-vacant LGD space that’s been empty since The Melting Pot closed in 2018. The menu mixes ostentation with a nod to approachability: gold leaf-covered steaks priced around $400 instead of the thousands charged in places like Dallas or Vegas, plus wagyu steak tartare, chargrilled octopus, a $26 “exotic salad,” raw seafood feasts, Alaskan king crab legs, rack of lamb and Beijing duck. Its marketing leans into entertainment and spectacle — “world-class” DJs, custom neon fixtures, fine leather, custom tables and aged-bronze accents — and the Google listing said it would open on June 20, 2023." - Clair Lorell

You should absolutely come here and sit at the bar! My honest opinion, the food was okay, but the service and the ambiance was amazing and that’s enough to bring me back. I had a few appetizers didn’t really care for the oysters or the tuna tartar, but the lamb sliders were really delicious. Pablo (paul) was really great. Super friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about cocktails and made some really delicious drinks. He honestly gave me such a good experience I would definitely return even tho the food wasn’t all that great. Elicie (sorry If I spelled it wrong) the manager, was really wonderful as well and recommended the brut rose which was so delicious, I will order that next time. Even some of the servers that were working were really friendly and overall for that reason I will absolutely be back! Thank y’all for being so kind😀 I go out to eat a lot, and I haven’t come across a staff this friendly in a long time!

Google
I can't wait to go back. The food was so good. The waiter actually loved his job and knew the restaurant. He gave details, recommendations and an overall elevated dining experience! The best thing about the food was the taste but presentation came in very close. The Waygu sliders melt in your mouth. The keylime cocktail was great so was the lychee and rose cocktail, very pretty and without a perfume taste. The pineapple salsa brought out the crabcake, that was a different taste but I enjoyed it! The porterhouse was excellent, cooked medium to medium well by preference, full of natural flavors, not masked by too much seasonings.

Google
From the start, the staff is wonderful and the vibes are great. The atmosphere is intimate yet open we were in a room with multiple other couples and groups but felt like we were not surrounded by others. We could hear each other and it wasn't too loud. They have a great cocktail list and the bar tenders were not shabby on their pours. The food was fantastic. The tomahawk was fantastic and cooked perfectly. We definitely would recommend it!

Google
GAIA Seafood & Steakhouse truly exceeded my expectations! The food was excellent, full of rich flavors and perfectly cooked. The service was impeccable, with the staff always attentive and polite. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming — ideal for a delightful dinner. A special mention goes to the barman, who was outstanding and made my experience even better. I will definitely return and highly recommend it! Viva Brazil 🇧🇷 See you soon

Google
Steak cooked perfectly!! They have gorgeous mocktails!! I can’t say enough good things about all the staff!! We were greeted right away by everyone upfront. The seating host and hostess, the bartenders all made us feel welcome and comfortable, grabbed us a drink and sat us in this very bougie lounge. This is a great place to take selfies and dine in style. Annabel was attentive, sweet and sincere and made sure we were happy with everything from start to finish. I recommend the mushroom side and scallops with your steak! Desserts look bomb but we were too full!

Google
Dining at GAIA was such a wonderful experience that we returned the very next night! Eliece, who was tending bar, expertly guided us through the expansive menu, explaining food preparation and spices that were used to enhance flavors. The food was absolutely outstanding and unique! In addition, Eliece was most knowledgeable about wines and specialty cocktails to pair with meals. He was fun, friendly, and our conversations with him added greatly to our evening’s experience! GAIA has our highest recommendation!

Google
Food was really great. Bartender knew her drinks. Server was very sweet and proper. Uber ride from canal st. I would recommend the GAIA for 3 and it was plenty for my wife and I! Tuna Tartar was amazing

Markus C.

Google
First time at the restaurant for their coolinary menu which had great options. The appetizers, drinks and desserts were excellent. We were a group of nine and all agreed that while the NY strip steak had good flavor, was not the best cut, tough and chewy. Also found our waiter to be a little lacking.

Yelp
Eliece the bar tender was cool! Good service. I came for happy hour. I had the short ribs and sangria. I'm very particular sangria. It was definitely on point! Very nice for the Christmas season. The short ribs was succulent. It was the perfect snack. The restaurant ambience was magnificent. And the tunes were good! I've definitely found a new spot to come too! Can't wait to come back and try the dinner menu.

Yelp
Very underwhelming and overpriced. Ambiance was good.... Service wasn't good in my opinion to be adding an 18% service charge for a table of 4 is insanity. Didn't know that ahead of time. Our waitress def didn't do $70 worth of service so i was annoyed about that. The mac and cheese was bland. My lobster ravioli was good but my friends didn't care for their lamb chops... The star of the sides were the fingerling potatoes and that says a lot!! Wouldn't be back!! I'm going to stop looking for leads on TikTok and come to Yelp like i usually do! Not impressed.

Yelp
I tried this place recently for a birthday dinner. They were great at accommodating a large party. The appetizer choices weren't to my liking or spark of my interest. The creamed spinach was delish. The crawfish mac and cheese was good but lacked seasoning. With salt and pepper added, it was much better. I often have fears of my steak being overcooked. My steak was perfect! The cotton candy on a mannequin head is a cute touch for dessert. The staff were very nice. The bartender was amazing. The restaurant was a bit warm in temperature which didn't allow for the most comfortable dining experience.

Yelp
This is probably going to be one of my longest reviews. Let's start by saying that I've been dying to try Gaia since they opened. I ventured over for happy hour (4:30-630 M-F) and I was wow'd by the prices! All the food is $9 and specifically cocktails, wine, and beers are 40% off. The ambience was cute for a date night but I came with my mama haha! I'm a big fan of the lychee martini and the lychee and rose was PERFECT for my palette. My mom really enjoyed the hibiscus margarita but our top fav was definitely the Strangers in paradise. Now on to the food....we got the chargrilled oysters which didn't necessarily wow me. I got them Rockefeller style and it definitely could've used a bit more flavor. The meatballs and waygu sliders were soooo good flavor wise but a bit on the salty side. The bruschetta was good but nothing spectacular. All in all, I would definitely go back for happy hour and I'm excited to go back to do dinner. Our bartender was really nice and knowledgeable of the drinks and what drink I would like best based on my normal drink orders.

Yelp
Disappointing Experience We decided to try this restaurant based on positive Yelp reviews and made a reservation for our party of 12 at 8 pm. Unfortunately, the service and food were mediocre. We specifically requested our server, Lynn, to take our entire order at once so everything could be served together. Despite this, after our drinks and appetizers arrived, we waited an additional 90 minutes for our main courses. We only received our food after questioning why parties seated after us were being served first. The tomahawk steak, which we requested medium rare, arrived raw. When we spoke to the manager on duty (MOD), he blamed Lynn, claiming she delayed placing the order. However, we had clearly asked for everything to be ordered together. When we requested a replacement steak, we were told the kitchen was closing for cleaning and they couldn't accommodate our request. To compensate for the inconvenience, the MOD offered us a free white tea shot and cotton candy, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. Our total bill was nearly $2000, and this experience left us extremely disappointed. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Bad. Don't go. No love in the food. Got the octopus. Opps they are out of the chimichurri that is supposed to come with it. Fine. Don't want octopus. Oh, we can make chimichurri. Cold and flavorless food. And they fought with me when I wanted to send it back. Place was empty on a Friday at 9pm. Mardi Gras parades everywhere. No one in this empty place - for good reason

Yelp
Throughly enjoyed myself at Gaia! I end up going on a night while it was storming like crazy. Once we pulled up to the door, there was a gentlemen who met us at the car w| an umbrella. I love that they thought about their customers enough to do that. The atmosphere is really chill and laid back. Perfect for a date night or girls night out. I end up ordering a Filet Mignon w| Macaroni and mushrooms-- amazingly amazing. I love how they sprinkle sea salt on the steak once it's cut in front of you. I've always believed that a steak is really top tier if you don't need steak sauce and I absolutely didn't need it at all. It was the perfect temperature and I could actually taste the steak instead of it being overly seasoned. I ordered a super cute drink (can't think of the name, rose something?) which came w| an actual frozen rose that was sprinkled over the table and a rose popsicle. I can't wait to go back to this establishment. Food + service was excellent.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed in Gaia. The good: Ambiance, service staff, decor The bad: Wagyu steak was a joke. It came in two pieces. I have never in my life been served a steak in two pieces, much less a $140 steak. And they were two teeny-tiny pieces. And one of the teeny-tiny pieces was a hunk of gristle. The lobster Mac and cheese was tasty, but we couldn't find any lobster in the dish. It was like a basic, creamy Mac and cheese. The burgers were ok. Sooooooo.... 2 burgers, a 6 oz wagyu steak, lobster Mac and cheese, and 4 cocktails. Over $500. I don't think we'll return.

Yelp
I came to Gaia for a birthday dinner with my fiance. I came here because it was supposed to be upbeat eclectic steak house. The place has a beautiful curated ambiance, but the music when we got here was putting me to sleep and had Billie Eilish style of covers of other songs and was not it. The table we sat was in a cute little back room and was very personal but the table legs were a little uncomfortable and the table was a little too far but it had some style with it. The service was great, it was fast, everything was explained and even the awesome cut of our steaks with salt bae action display was super cool. Just remember if you want to take a picture of the steak tartare with the quail egg make sure you let them know because they squashed it and was not able to to do the squashing myself. Which I like to do. As far as the appetizer flavors and display we got the Spanish octopus which was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing with the chimichurri which had a nice little spice kick to it that was perfect. We also had the steak tartare with the quail egg and caviar that was super delicious and citrusy bringing all the flavors together. Our main dish were the private reserve cut and the filet mignon. The private reserve cut was cooked perfect for a medium rare and the filet mignon was slightly overcooked to a medium instead of a medium rare but the quality of meats were great and super tender and delicious. We paired the steaks with Sautéed mushrooms and that was a great pairing. Finally we had the espresso drink, but switched it with a reposado don julio and a bottle of CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE bottle of wine which was delicious. Their pricing was pretty on point for a steak house and they had a very large wine selection which I did appreciate. Finally the dessert was the ice creams. We loved the ice cream flavors which was the mango, pistachio, chocolate and red bean. They had an outside of white chocolate that was quite overpowering and took away from the ice creams. The chocolate paired well with its outside regular chocolate not white chocolate exterior. The mango tasted well with the white chocolate but the pistacho the white chocolate took away from it. The red bean was too light that you can barely taste even with just the ice cream itself. They do not bring or make the reservation any more special for birthdays, which is something I did appreciate from gw fins and other nice restaurants even if they did a free Dessert taster that would be an awesome add. Service fee is included. I will come back but please keep the music nice and vibey, house music, disco, funky, lo-fi but not Billie eilish style.

Jeff G.

Yelp
Never sent a steak back till today Ordered 6 reserve steaks. All six wrong temp. Was suppose to be medium. They took them back and brought them back well done and tasted like the grill Only 1 steak was properly cooked the 2nd time. Lobster Mac and cheese was changed to crawfish Mac. Horrible fishy taste Would not recommend this place Very disappointed

Yelp
Wow! This restaurant is everything you want in a restaurant. The ambiance is romantic and the decor gives Brazilian bachelor pad vibes with a amazing artwork, lighting and other sexy features. The service was amazing. Our waiter was extra attentive and he explains the menu so well that I wanted to try everything! The drink menu was exciting! I got the Brown Butter martini, which was delicious and paired perfectly with my medium rare filet mignon. My boyfriend got the Lychee Rose martini and there was a whole presentation upon delivery. Super cool! I got a dozen raw oysters to start and he got the crab cake both were delicious. We both got the Filet mignon and sides included the truffle fries, chargrilled veggies and the baked potato which was redundant for me to order. I wish I'd ordered the lobster Mac n cheese. I throughly enjoyed my entire experience at this restaurant- I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious cocktails and out of this world steaks! Had the mezcal Negroni, the Gaia Exotic salad, Spanish Octopus, and the tomahawk. Crab cake was pricey for the serving size, but the salad was definitely an entree size, and the tomahawk was so huge we came home with leftovers. One suggestion would be more vegetable sides. I would've loved to see a mushroom medley, some roasted Brussels sprouts, or a nice sautéed kale on the menu. Overall, GAIA is a great option for date night and other special occasions.

Yelp
I went here twice and forgot to write my review which probably tells you everything you need to know. It's a "vibey" place so the aesthetic is really cute and fun. The drink prices are simply diabolical lol. $28 for a lemon drop. The first time I came, I was with a group and there was a preset tasting menu. I left with the impression that everything was unseasoned and flavorless. We also got the fancy drinks with the rose petals and dry ice and it was a mess lol. It was a cute idea but then we had rose petals all over the table and floor the rest of the night. I didn't want to fully base my opinion on this so I came back on my own. I made sure to tell the server to add salt and pepper to my steak before which made the world of a difference! I think the food is just okay but the service is impeccable and the vibe and music will probably make this a great spot for birthdays or celebrations

Yelp
Visited this establishment for a anniversary celebration with a party of 10. It is a easy location to find, sitting on the corner. The ambiance is dim lighting and faint music, allowing space for conversation to flow. The food was overall okay. To share for the table, we ordered the seafood tower- which an array of crisp, caviar, octopus, crawfish, and oysters. It was a great starter. The lobster Mac and cheese was very watery and bland, I did return this dish as I was not satisfied. The cocktail shrimp, which our lovely server recommends was my personal favorite. The drinks were also great. Overall it was a nice dinner, however I would explore other options.

Steve H.

Yelp
I wish I would have read some of the other reviews before having dinner at this restaurant. My son was returning to Tulane, so we thought we would take him and a friend out for a nice dinner before leaving. Disaster. The steak was literally served raw. The restaurant is dark, so we could barely see the steaks were browned on the top and bottom. After the four of us took the first bite, it was clear the steak hadn't been cooked. We sent all four steaks back, and noticed our server arguing with someone, perhaps the cook. It was clear they recognized the steaks were raw, but no apology. (Note, the rest of the food was average at best, including the sides/dessert). Later that evening, without getting into the gory details, I ended up with food poisoning. All four of us experienced some symptoms, but mine were the worst. I ended up with an overnight stay at the hospital, and was diagnosed with acute kidney damage in addition to other things from the food poisoning. So, GAIA took me for $358.00, and I ended up with a significantly greater expense! I have literally called the health department on this restaurant so that others might be warned. You should NOT dine at this place, heed this warning..... FOLLOW UP: I received a call back from the Health Inspector. As expected, they did find violations in the restaurant that can/could lead to food poisoning. She thanked me for alerting her about the issues with this restaurant. Again, I would not recommend dining there.....

Yelp
Skip all of the touristy steakhouses in the French quarter and go to Gaia!! This place should be on everyone's list! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic!! Best service I've gotten in New Orleans. The cocktails were hand crafted and looked as good as they tasted! The whole place is beautifully decorated as well! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
Not greeted by anyone walking in. Sat at the bar and the bartender co tinier about his busy work without acknowledgement. A 20 dollar martini made with absolute vodka, disgusting. We walked in and walked right back out. Good luck Gaia..
google avatar

Amari H.

Yelp
I arrived at Gaia around 5:30pm for my 6pm reservation. The restaurant was bascially empty which doesn't deter me from trying somewhere, but the hostess had called asking if I wouldn't mind sitting in the bar because I was a reservation of 1. I was hesitant at first because although it was just me, I really wanted to sit at a table, not a bar seat, but thankfully their bar area has low tables. The bar tender was good, he promptly took my order and answered any questions I had. I won a $125 giftcard for the restaurant and decided to take myself on a solo date. They had a summer menu which was basically a tapas menu that I enjoyed and think is a great idea to have! The filet mignon and lobster mac & cheese was 100/10 and I would run back to order that!! The meatballs, crab cakes and creme brûlée weren't nasty but nothing to remember. I think if you're looking for a new, upscale spot to try, Gaia is worth checking off your list.

Yelp
Wanted to find a place to eat on our last day in NO. This place was 10/10 the best. It was happy hour so I tried a good amount of food and the crab cake and shrimp was the best. Our bartender ELiECE was great, he checked in on us every chance he got. The decor of the restaurant was instagram worthy the host gave us a tour of the restaurant and showed up the see through cooler. I highly recommend this place

Yelp
We were there this past Saturday for a friend's birthday dinner and we were all disappointed. Steaks we oder was not hot and the truffle fries need more truffle

Yelp
We had our work Christmas Dinner here and the staff was wonderful. They were very accommodating. The espresso martini and tomahawk steak was my favorite

Yelp
Great vibe...the food and the service was elite..definitely enjoyed my experience here.

Yelp
This is more of an experience than a steakhouse. The restaurant is beautiful, with so many areas that are picture worthy. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch.
google avatar

Meredith P.

Yelp
Food was pretty good although there are definitely better options in Nola. We mainly went for the giant cotton candy head as we were celebrating a birthday. It did not disappoint! Fun and festive! Restaurant would not allow me to bring table decor (small vase of flowers) which I found off putting. Service was adequate but rather slow

Yelp
My fiance and I came during their soft opening & from The beginning to end... it was a great experience. Definitely one of our favorite steak house in New Orleans area! It's nice and clean, everyone is so welcoming and polite. The food was superb. Everything we ate melted in our mouth, the short rib was to die for! The tomahawk was wonderful! We also got the crab cakes, but ate it before we could take a picture. We will definitely be back.

Gordon L.

Yelp
I've read the reviews and it's sad how people can try to destroy an amazing place such as GAIA because they had to wait a bit for a table or some of the other insane things I've read. This place is by far the best steakhouse in New Orleans. The aged tomahawk was so amazing and the sauteed were on point and that was just my first visit. We went back for my birthday and I got the New York strip and let me tell you that thing melted in my mouth and I also got an 8 oz A5 plus wagyu that was to die for along with those sauteed mushrooms! The ambiance is beautiful!! The way the place is set up is perfect for a date or a family gathering. The staff is top notch from the host, bartender, server and even the busser and food runner. Other steakhouses need to be very afraid of this place because they will and should be number 1. I'm definitely making this my new weekly steakhouse visit.

Yelp
Always have a good time here! The service is top notch and the food is amazing. I do enjoy the vibe especially the booths. They're very private and decorated nicely. My husband goes with his friends and me, sometimes. I guess he's become a "regular" so they definitely go beyond to be sure we have a good experience. I appreciate that.

Yelp
Meh. Hopefully, it was an off night for them. Overly pretentious with a huge non welcoming dress code sign when you walk inside. Seated promptly. Our server knew the menu well and she was well able to answer all our questions. There is no bread service, which was unusual and less than optimal given the expanse of time between ordering and receiving the meal. The prices are high even when compared to fine steakhouses around the country. Food delivery took about 45 minutes. We were twice asked how things were going by management though we had yet to receive any of our order. We never saw management again after the food was delivered. The food was good, but bordered on average. Some was cold and required reheating. Portions are small. Some of my pet peeves exist which evince poor training. Food should not be "auctioned off" in a fine dining establishment. The persons bringing the food should know to whom to serve it. A server should never ask "Are you still working on it?", much less "Are you still picking at your food". The cotton candy dessert was truly unique. Not sure if priced fairly, but quite the experience. Likely would not return given the many dining options available in NOLA.

Yelp
Between the exceptional food, location and great decor, this hidden gem will soon be heaving with customers. We sat at the bar. I ordered steak tartare and my husband, a salad. Both were delicious. We shared the short rib which was tender and cooked to perfection. The drinks were potent, the wine delightfully dry and the bartender sweet and attentive. The one downside was the dessert. We had fondue and I kept losing my fruit, which says more about me than the chocolate. If you go take a tour of the restaurant. This steakhouse has strong female vibes and I'm here for it!!!
google avatar

Gabby E.

Yelp
Went with a group of 6. Steaks were very good! Sides were very good. My daughter ate her weight in truffle fries. The charcuterie appetizer for 2 was enough for 4 of us and it was too notch! Truffle fry app is enough for 4 as well. Drinks were very very good! I got some orange rum drink and one was plenty for me. Salad was HUGE. Our service was perfect. Atmosphere was like a woodsy modern and the bathrooms were very stacked with all essentials. Make reservations. The area is very calm in the Garden district it's in.
google avatar

Yelp
You have many choices for steakhouses here in New Orleans & selecting just one can be overwhelming! Let me do you a favor ......... choose Gaia!! We are from out of town, know no one here so I was winging it but am so glad I chose this spot! The most well prepared steak & lambs chops we have ever had ....... And we have tried them all in the SF Bay Area! The folks at Gaia know & respect the meat they are serving & it shows! The salad with the fresh greens & fruit was honestly a life changing experience ........ never thought I would say that for a salad!! I'm now jealous of all New Orleans residents because you could come here every night, if you wanted to!! It was pricy yes, but worth every penny! The atmosphere was very cool as well ........ just how you want your steakhouse to be!

Yelp
Amazing fine dining experience! Food and service were top notch. Perfect ambience to gather with friends and catch up while eating a great meal.

Yelp
What a horrific night. We waits two hours before leaving to actually eat. Avoid this place R all costs

KC A.

Yelp
My friend and I were in town and wanted to hive this place a try despite the low rating. We had reservations for 9 and were seated 10 minutes afterward. No ome csme to the table until we grabbed a random waitress to assist us. This restaurant offers no complementary bread like most restaurants nor birthday desserts. Not to mention, our food came out close to closing time, which is 11pm.

Maya B.

Yelp
worst experience. Service insanely slow. Here for 3 hours, barely checked on us and still paid 400 dollars
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
This was hands down the best dining experience I've ever had in New Orleans. The octopus was absolutely amazing and so were the steaks (GAIA special and the filet). The quality of meat was incredible, literally melts in your mouth. They cooked the GAIA special table side, which was really cool. Lobster Mac and cheese also amazinggg!! We also got the crab cake, which was a really good crab cake but our least favorite thing we had. I ordered one of the nitro martinis and when they bring it to your table, it is an experience in itself. There is no where else like this in the city. Definitely a special occasion restaurant, be prepared to spend A LOT. But it was worth every penny, can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Brooke N.

Yelp
Gaia is definitely an experience and not just a restaurant! Honestly if your budget is limited and you going with a group and counting your coins. This place is not for you stay home. But if you don't mind paying and having a lived experience go out get the a nitro drink or the $85 gold flakes (nope I didn't get my experience was limited ). It's very cute and elegant inside. The holiday decorations were cute and the art was beautiful . The food was good they have seafood options for pescatarian I had the fish of the day Bass which was meaty and a whole fish. They also have crab cakes lobster Mac n cheese and stuff mushrooms. As for a meat they have the MEATS. The meat eaters at the table had the filet and something with a K (good read I can't remember but it was thinly sliced ). The meat eaters liked their food and everyone loved the appetizers. It is family style dining so sharing is caring The service was 5 stars it was busy so our waitress was busting her tail so we understood. I can't remember her name but she was from NY and very hospitable. Because I like to talk about restrooms for the ladies. I can say the bathrooms are A+. Clean and fresh with mints, floss, lotion, mouth wash if it makes you clean and fresh it was stocked . Stalls were clean and not icky.

Claire K.

Yelp
The hamburger I ordered was delicious, not so true of the Wagyu steak my husband ordered. It did not taste special. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant but the benches where we were seated were uncomfortable. My husband had a lot of trouble exiting between the bench and the table. When we return,I would ask that we be seated at a table with chairs,

Yelp
I went to Gaia with my cousin, for dinner and drinks. My initial thought when walking in was that it had such a cute and upscale atmosphere. They sat us in a room towards the back and the only downfall were that the tables were so close together its felt like we were eating with the people next to us. Other than that, my server was great, my meal was great, I enjoyed!

Yelp
This isn't just dinner, this is an experience in culinarily excellence. Every attention to detail has been thought out and executed flawlessly. The cocktails are very complex and full of flavor and balance. All our our entrees were perfectly prepared. The A5 wagu literally melts in you mouth, and the presentation was a show in its self.

Yelp
This restaurant is phenomenal. Ambiance is great for date night or celebration. Highly recommend the nitro drinks. Charcuterie board was one of the best we ever had. When steak is delivered, go ahead and allow the waiter to slice it. It is a show in itself. Everyone is very attentive.

Yelp
I've been hearing a lot about GAIA since they first opened, so I've been wanting to go here. My friend decided to do dinner here for her birthday. I looked up the dress code beforehand and it seemed to be very strict (I changed my outfit twice to make sure my dress was not too short and my neckline was not too low). When we arrived, I noticed individuals with t-shirts, shorts and backwards baseball caps so I'm not sure how much the dress code is actually enforced. The ambiance was different than I expected- in a good way. It was more of a nice relaxed feel, but still upscale-ish. We sat at 8:30. The waitress asked if we would like sparkling or still water (You order by the bottle to split with the table. Both are $9). We ordered drinks around 8:45, and food by 9:00. We did not get our drinks until a little after 9:30 (cocktails as well as cokes). IMO, that was a long time to wait for drinks. Especially for those who only had coke/sprite. The sodas came in cans that they pour into a glass for you (I'm not sure how refills work). Our food came at 10:05. We were STARVING lol. But, I got the lobster mac and cheese, and a crab cake. The crab cake was really good. The macaroni was decent, no one at the table was really a huge fan of it. I think it may have been the type of cheese it contained. Also, it could've had more lobster in it. The consistency of it was really good, though. I tasted a piece of my friend's steak, I can't remember which steak she ordered, but it was super tender! It just had no flavor. Like zero flavor, it tasted like water. They offer steak sauce for $11 but she did not get it. The drink I ordered was called the Tipsy Gypsy and it was really good!! Very strong! (I just realized I did not get a picture of it). I'll say it was worth the money because all I needed was ONE. I asked for a to-go cup for it, and the server told me I could take my drink to the front for them to put it in a cup. I felt that was weird, but then she offered to bring me a cup. I know to-go cups aren't the biggest deal but I expected WAY MORE from a restaurant like this! My friend said it looked like she grabbed a cup from their break room! Literally that cup was so cheap, the condensation was destroying it as soon as I poured the drink in it. Overall, it's a cute place, it was worth a try, but I don't think I'll be back. Very pricy and not worth it. The food is not even that good. The service was not over the top either.

Yelp
NO WONDER this place is so dead!'Ambience: ok. Service: meh. Food: ok,maybe. Subpar, mediocre and way overpriced to start. But also a disregard of happy hour on super pricey drinks?!?! I mean, super pricey drinks, and I was asked " are you here for happy hour?" I was there to eat, but because I was I got screwed over on the happy hour drink specials?! Really?! Over $200 bill at the bar for 1 person who didn't drink or eat that much is unacceptable. I wish I was forewarned that "happy hour" is cocktails only and is not included in the dinner you order. And I don't mind the 18% "service" charge. But don't do that if you plan to screw around. Definitely would've been a bigger gratuity I'd leave plus a ton of repeat with business with our friends and out of town visitors. It's a shame because these workers are struggling in this city--- this city who thrives off of their labor and those in charge run these people and these places into the ground Mediocre and overpriced. Tons and tons of better options in this city. No wonder it was so dead. Go elsewhere

Yelp
Service was great. The food was decent, but nothing very memorable. The table was very uncomfortable. The table legs were just bulky and you have no room for human legs at all. I felt like I was swatting the whole meal. I also did not like that they charge an 18 percent gratuity for a party of 4. I always tip more than 18 percent, but it should not be mandatory.

Yelp
Let me just say that it's not worth your time or money. The place is very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing but that's it. The service is VEEY slow even when it's empty. The waiter refilled our water a million times before we got our drinks and food. We orders a 2 Tomahawk [1 being the gold one] 1 Filet mignon, 1 NY strip, sautéed vegetables, lobster Mac and Cheese and other sides. The Tomahawk had NO FLAVOR at all. So bland for a $120 and $320 piece of meat. I had a lemon drop for $28 ans didn't know it was that pricey till the bill came. My NY steak i ordered came out medium rare when i ordered Medium and when I told them about it the put my steak in the oven ans it came out Well done. They ended up giving me a new steak that was cooked right but was tasteless. Nothing had seasoning. The sautéed veggies had mushrooms and bell peppers and they didn't event chop the vegetables to small pieces. It was literally a half of a bell pepper on the plate. Really bruh. Also when we were their the male and female bathrooms were all stopped up and had to be shut down. This place wants to be fancy and upscale but it give Chillis quality. It's a 5/10. You're literally paying for them to cute yoir near in front you but not for taste.

Yelp
The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the environment was very inviting. This is an excellent spot to take customers out or a date night.
