This is a hard one for me, but honesty is key. Overall, the place is quite nice. But everything I ordered had wayyyy too much salt. The amuse bouche was fried parmesan with a nice complexity (sweet peppers) but super salty, naturally.
The Mille feuille’s cream adornment was my downfall. Insanely salty. My tongue felt like a slug after finishing that. It should come with a warning. I would still order the dish but be sure to eat 1/10th of the cream at most.
The fish of day, also too much salt. So at this point I’m dying…because all I taste is salt with all the hard work in these dishes taking a deep back seat.
It’s all so rich…they don’t need to go this hard on the richness. The flavors are there. They’re nice. They need to embrace the flavors and have confidence in them and their subtlety. It’s a 3 course savory meal and by the end of it you’re barely alive.
The cheesecake even has salt on it! lol. I had to ask for it on the side because by this point I knew what I was getting into. It’s a salted cream, but still! It was quite tasty tho, I’ll give them that.
The lemon pie bite was the best thing of the night, honestly!
They did me a major favor by allowing the tasting menu after I already ordered a full starter. And only charged me for 2 bottles of water instead of 3.
TLDR: Despite all this detail, it’s worth eating here if you they’ll allow salt modifications, lol. If you’re coming here, request they add half the amount of salt to anything they can, where possible. You’ll be way better off.
But there are now 5 reviews over the years mentioning that they make the food too salty. I don’t think they’re going to change.
