Galletto Ristorante

We were there for a work meeting so we did not have access to the full menu. What was selected was absolutely delicious. The chicken was roasted to perfection with a very juicy texture. The potatoes were crispy. The service was perfect my food was served hot and my drinks didn’t ever get empty. My only complaint was that Our meeting ended and we had to leave;) next time I am passing through Modesto this will have to be a stop with the family!!!

The manager was truly the GOAT my first visit here, truly amazing atmosphere. Good perfect. We were placed outside and it being our first time it was super hot outside, nd inside was just too beautiful to pass on. I said one word to the manager, and he was on it for me. "Best feeling ever" nd Ima brotha, took my ex nd accompanied BIG TIME taken her here. Let's just say what I paid was worth every dollar that night. Well worth it

Lively atmosphere, fantastic service and upscale food. It was a nice surprise to walk into such an open room with tall ceilings where I could listen to and watch the cooking staff and exposition. Christopher was an attentive server, checking in just enough for me to know he was paying attention to all his tables. The food was upscale and pleasant. The Frito Misto had a light batter so I could taste the flavor of the vegetables and calamari. I particularly enjoyed the beans and the olives! The octopus was presented beautifully and the flavors were on point, though it was overcooked, so a bit rubbery. The star of the show was the soup of the day, a Chicken Cassoulet, with beans and bacon. The salty broth was light enough for the meat and vegetables to shine through. The flavors were well balanced. I had a fresh fruit tart for dessert and it was light and not too sweet. The crust was a little thick, but had good flavor. All in all, great service and an upbeat atmosphere.

My guy took me here for an intimate dinner and Galletto did not disappoint. Beautiful restaurant with eye catching plates to match I had salmon ravioli and my guy had the rib eye. Plates looked like they took a lot of effort to make even though we weren’t waiting very long definitely our new date night too. Excellent service.

Yaa.. so.. I’m not a pizza person but after a bit of debate I went with might be the best pizza I’ve ever had 🍴 Third-ish time here but first time alone and am very grateful for the patio 😎 Location ✅ supreme Jo ✅ attentive Flys ❌ but that’s not their fault… All said and done- if you can afford it, it might be the best restaurant in Modesto 💚

Visited this restaurant for the first time tonight on a friend retreat and it was amazing! Beautifully elegant restaurant and experience! Loved the food and awesome service! Definitely a spot I would recommend to family and friends. Enjoyed the lobster fettuccine especially! Thank you 🦞❤️😋🥰 Five star servers too 👏

Being a San Francisco transplant to Modesto, it was such a pleasure finding a true Italian restaurant! I felt like I was back in the Bay again. The atmosphere, service and food are top tier! I lf your in Modesto make reservations here! Thank me later.

The restaurant was very fancy and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and ordered grilled ribeye steak as dinner and ordered Italian pepperoni pizza. Definitely a vibe at this restaurant.

Never a disappointment. Great food. Great staff, and a wonderful manager! We always feel so welcomed. The atmosphere is peaceful and elegant. Our attendee tonight was Dolce. She was delightful! This is our favorite place! Highly recommended!

I went to this place yesterday with my friend for dessert, since my friend had been here, and she and my co-workers in the past had said good things about it. Food: their desserts are delicious.. we had a lemon blueberry pie.. it was phenomenal , and peach cobbler cheesecake was good as well. Drinks: espresso martini was strong and delicious. Service: Dulce is a sweetheart. And their manager Cal.. short for cambell. He is a gem, oh my was this guy the sweetest. We felt like a celebrity. I have to go back for main course. Taylor..is the owner who I didn't get to meet, but the staff of this place is Premium... I am going back again for sure. Thank you for opening a wonderful place with excellent service. Their other servers were cute and kind as well.

Easy recommendation! I had heard so many good things about Galleto Ristorante, that I was a little scared it would not live up to expectations when I decided to have my birthday dinner here. But thankfully, Galleto Ristorante surpassed my expectations! The service was top-tier, the food was fantastic, and the cocktails were superb. The inside of the restaurant is a vibe, and I look forward to sitting on the patio in a future visit. The ambiance works well if you are celebrating a special occasion. There is a nice little bar and seating area if you want to grab quick after-work drinks, or a fast bite to eat. Honestly, Galleto Ristorante is the easiest of choices if you are in the Modesto area, and I see why it is so highly recommended. Cheers!

I hands down believe this to be the best and nicest place for dinner in Modesto. If you are going out to celebrate an occasion, or looking to impress someone, take them here. I came with my friend to celebrate her birthday and they had happy birthday printed on the menu for us! It's those little touches. Because the service here all away around is worth the price you spend. Plus the food matches that! I am VERY picky and our server, Freddy, was so great at accommodating my requests! I order the filet mignon, asked for the leanest piece they had and just simply grilled without oil or butter. For sides I had the charred broccolini (plain without butter/oil) and simply boiled marbled potatoes. All cooked to absolute perfection!! The filet had absolutely no gristle...I just wish it had been a bit more rare in the middle, but I didn't want to send it back because I had already been so picky! And the charred broccolini! Wow!! That has such a great char flavor. The potatoes were creamy and perfect even though all they did was boil them. I ate almost my entire plate (minus a few potato). My friend just got back from Italy and she had never been here before. She ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and said it was so good she would have no problem eating the whole bowl. Us girls cleaned our plates here!! And they brought out a sweet little cup of vanilla bean ice cream for her birthday too! Five stars all around from service to food to ambiance. My favorite restaurant in Modesto!

Absolutely incredible meal from Galletto's! This was my first time and it could not recommend it enough. The food was fresh and flavorful. You can tell they put time and effort into their dishes. They were very attentive and accommodating. The service was superior. This is the nice place to go in Modesto these days. Cheers!

My husband and I decided to try a new (to us) restaurant for our 36'th anniversary, and we were SO glad that we did! From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff was attentive and extremely solicitous, even wishing us a happy anniversary as they seated us. The ambiance was very pleasant, and I loved the rustic decor in the spacious dining area. Our waiter, whose name we've unfortunately forgotten (but he's been married 16 years), was always ready to assist us, without being intrusive, a testament to his level of skill as a waitstaff. He even brought us celebratory sparkling cider to sip while we waited for our meal. We ordered from a menu that had "Happy Anniversary " written on it, which made us feel special, even though I'm sure they have those printed out to give to all the couples celebrating their special day-but kudos to management for offering such a personal detail to make the guest's experience so wonderful. Speaking of management, the manager on duty at the time of our visit, went around the room greeting everyone and asking how their dining experience was going. We got our food in a timely manner, although, after tasting it, I would have happily waited even longer for just a bite of that heavenly morsel! I ordered the braised short ribs over Parmesan polenta, with caramelized cippolini onions and an extremely flavorful veal sauce. My hubby ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. After I took my first bite, I literally moaned in pleasure as the amazing flavors tickled my tongue. The short ribs were fork tender, the polenta was the perfect texture and the Parmesan flavor was subtle, with a perfect marriage of flavor between it and the veal sauce! Don't even get me started on those amazingly creamy and perfectly caramelized cippolini onions! SO GOOD!!! I can only eat a few bites at a time before becoming extremely full to the point of becoming ill, so I was VERY sad when my traitorous tummy said, "whoa there, time to stop eating!" I did NOT want to stop, it was that good!!! Even though I knew I couldn't eat another bite, I went ahead and ordered dessert, and I'm SO glad that I did! They had such a nice variety from which to choose, and after a bit of back and forth between my tummy and my brain, I settled on the lemon blueberry pie. They brought it to me and is was a visual feast for my eyes. It even had a perfectly tempered oval of chocolate with "Happy Anniversary " airbrushed on it with edible ink. What a wonderful touch! I went ahead and took a small bite (it was just too appealing to pass up!), and smiled happily as the perfect balance between tart and sweet danced upon my tastebuds. (There was more moaning involved.) My husband, who isn't even a fan of custard, took a bite and nodded his head appreciatively and said, "Wow! That's amazing!". This is DEFINITELY our new go to restaurant! We used to go to Tresetti's for all of our special occasions, but Galletto has won the top spot as far as we're concerned! I cannot recommend this place highly enough!! The food is incredible, the service wonderful, and the prices are actually very reasonable considering the quality of food and service. Please give it a try, you will NOT be sorry!

Great time here the drinks were great and the food was really good. We ordered two different types of pizza and they both tasted amazing. Our server was constantly checking up on us and making sure we didn't need anything. I would say the ambiance was nice but did need a slight update but nothing major still a great environment. Will be returning

We called an hour before arrival during Memorial Weekend and were able to make a reservation for the outdoor patio, which was lovely! From the prime rib to the bolognese, dinner was delicious. Kudos to the bartender as well for our cocktails, excellent pour! Our server was really sweet, attentive and gave great recommendations. We had a great experience!

Enjoyed an anniversary dinner there recently. Excellent service, drinks and food. Nice touches like complimentary prosecco made the evening special.

Went to dinner here with a group of 15. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. From all their starters wines, drinks and food. They have an extensive menu of wines. Teh arrive is very friendly and attentive. Everyone was very happy with their food, we ordered pasta , chocked to steak. The deep fried lemons were amazing. Definitely going back.

I loved the outdoor space and ambiance of the place. They also have a heater of you get cold. Service: Our waiter kept checking on our table which I appreciated and our glasses of water were never empty. Risotto: Only option was the one with sausage and it was great and had a touch of spiciness to it that I enjoyed and was perfect for me. Short ribs: Melted in my mouth. Onions on the side were different for me but they were well seasoned and soft and was a nice surprise and it also came with a small salad. But without the salad, my preference would have been a root vegetable other than the onion but the combination they cooked up work and it was happy to try something new. Dessert: Brownie. I think it's probably the right amount of sweetness for most people. I would have liked a touch more bitter/coffee added to it more, which i think they did. Was a delicious dinner overall. For central ca area, overall dining experience 5/5.

Dining at Galletto's is one of those dining experiences you won't forget. From the impeccable service, delicious dishes, wonderful cocktails (or mocktails), and the warm ambiance... there is just something so special about this restaurant. Like other reviews, the service here really is top notch. You can always expect it to be the highest level. The staff are so attentive and kind. The food. Wow. Delicious. Every. Time. Perfect portion sizes. Beautiful plating. My personal favorite is the short ribs. When you come to Galletto's, you can guarantee it will be an incredible experience.

The service was great from the moment we walked in the door. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple drinks before the rest of our party arrived. It was my first time here and I was impressed with the decor and outdoor seating area (did you know they have bocce ball in the very back?!). Very nice for a date night/fancy night out restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was only decent, at best. My husband and I got the lobster fettuccine and ribeye steak. The lobster fettuccine was just okay. We enjoyed the sides for the ribeye the best, especially the mushrooms and mashed potatoes. As for the ribeye, I can make better steaks at home, this one was really lacking in flavor. Our party got the fritto misto and the bruschetta to share. The bruschetta was good, the fritto misto was too salty and very fishy to the point where it was off-putting. We had gotten two orders of the fritto misto and had virtually two full plates left over. The sangria was good, the maverick was different, but good, and the coconut guava daiquiri was very refreshing. My husband had a Cabernet from Post and Beam that was a great tasting wine. I had been wanting to visit Galleto's for a long time, however, I kept putting it off because so many people say that it is very expensive and the food is not that great for the price. I would say that I have to agree.

I haven't been in the area to enjoy this place for a few years but they are still incredible. Very old school ambiance but that is a good thing. There were 6 of us and all the meals were great. I had the seafood rissoto. It had excellent seafood and rice with a red broth that they poured at the table. Although the rice wasn't the normal creamy rissoto consistency it was excellent. Others had lasagna and bolognese pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The meatballs appetizer was the standout of the apps that we experienced. They also have a nice full bar if that is your inclination. Next time I'm in the area I will be back to try something new.

First time here on a pre-birthday event! Ok, the outside scenery is beautiful. They have grapes hanging on the ceiling and these lion head water fountains. For food, I got the bruschetta as an appetizer and I thought it was great. Juicy tomatoes, not too much balsamic sauce. My pasta dish was fantastic. I had forgotten the name of it but i think it had rigatoni in the name I believe? The tiramisu was ok. It's one of my favorite desserts so I needed to try but I would skip out on the gelato. I didn't find it special but good place if wanting to celebrate someone special

After years of wanting to come here I finally made a reservation for a patio table for my birthday. Upon arrival they sat us immediately. Ambiance is nice, covered patio with vines, water feature and a fireplace. We were greated by the waitress and she immediately said Happy Birthday would you like a complimentary glass of champagne. They served focaccia bread with oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was soft and very good. I ordered the house soup which was Sausage & Kale with bacon & potatoes in a creamy broth, so good. My wife ordered the lasagna and I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese. We were instructed that the pasta is house made and you can tell. Everything was so delicious. For dessert we shared the Peach Cobbler, they do a different take on it by serving it with a biscuit in the middle and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, still a very good dessert. For cocktails we had an Old Fashioned typically made tasted good. My wife had the elderberry Margarita and lemon drop, she enjoyed both of them. To end the night I ordered the Johnny Walker King George as my birthday treat. Not sure I would pay the price again but it was very smooth with a hint of smoke. Overall a great birthday night. We will definitely be back, the pizza looked amazing.

If we want a fancy date night - we go to Gallettos. Reservations are preferred - you can make reservations online easy! Both the indoor & outdoor seating are equally awesome so you won't be disappointed wherever you are seated. Fun Fact: This place used to be an old bank - they have a safe that they used to use as a coat closet near the front. So cool! They also have a Bocce Ball court in the back - super fun to end the night. The last 3 times we've been here, we just happen to get the same waitress. What are the chances? On our receipt, her name is Dulce & she is great! When making reservations - if you specify a birthday, you will get a customized menu that says "Happy Birthday" on it when arriving. I always think this is a nice touch. I am guessing they do this for other special occasions as well. We've been here for birthdays as well as when we were celebrating getting our marriage license prior to getting married & all time, they offered complimentary champagne to help celebrating :) They bring two types of bread to your table as well as olive oil & balsamic vinegar that go so well together. Although their vegetarian options are almost non-existent - they are willing to work with you if you want something specific & also change things on the menu. For my drink on this visit, I opted for the Hugo. It was sweet & refreshing. Definitely hit the spot! For foods - I ordered the Gnocchetti al Tartufo (it is an appetizer but I had it for my entree). So yums! Next time I will order two (don't judge). My husband ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese. When he had it last (Nov 2024) - it was good because they changed the recipe because they received feedback - so it was a good change. But now it went back to how it originally was - spicy & too much garlic. My husband was disappointed, he hopes it was just a one off. We ended the night with some Affogato (perfect ending) - our waitress also brought out some gelato with a edible "Happy Birthday" chocolate & a candle lit for my husband's birthday. Overall, one of the nicer restaurants in Modesto & we will definitely be back to celebrate another birthday or anniversary :)

Our group of eight often meet at Galletto's for an early dinner before the symphony. We recently chose this venue and were seated in The Family Room, a small dining room off the main entrance. The round table lends itself to intimate dining and good conversation. We placed our beverage orders, listened to the special offerings and perused the menu. When our drinks were delivered we placed our orders. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad, whole romaine leaves, shaved Parmesan and white anchovies. My husband isn't a fan of anchovies so I'm the happy recipient. He chose the lasagna and I the duck breast. Others in our party ordered the beet salad, shrimp scampi, pork chop, salmon and short ribs, all delicious. Our servers are always mindful of the time so we can relax and enjoy our dinner and still leave for the Gallo in plenty of time. This restaurant remains one of our favorites in the area.

Galetto is a great example of a place that is close to outstanding, but ends up a bit average. It is one of the few higher end restaurants in the area. The restaurant itself is beautiful, comfortable and spacious. The service is attentive. The food is ok - and that is the gist of the issue. In the dozen or so times I've eaten here, it has always been "pretty good" or "ok" - never bad. I've been across the menu and virtually everything hits this category. It is a good place for a business dinner or happy hour in the patio. Prices reflect the atmosphere. If the food was more of a standout - galletto would be fantastic.

I would like to start with desert, but I won't. I know you care more about the food, but the desert--you have to get it. They have this chocolate dream that has ice cream on top and you must save room. Okay, now I have that out of my system I will tell you about the wonders of Galletto. It is Italian, but it has more than that, it is all wonderful and there is nothing not to love here. It is located in Downtown Modesto and is large enough for private parties and meetings, they have rooms, yet small enough to feel right at home in their main dinning room. The place is very pretty and it is ever so clean. You know whoever runs this place takes pride in it. The service is stellar. You are seated on time, make a reservation, and you are not rushed. Your server knows everything they have and what is the best. They have a full bar and an excellent wine list. All of the food is great. We loved their fritto misto calamari as a started with, green beans, olives, fennel, red onion, spicy aioli and a tangy cocktail sauce. Their Galletto Caesar is so fresh and great. It has whole leaf romaine, white anchovy, grana padano, croutons with a great Caesar dressing. They make their own pizza and it is amazing. They have several different kinds and if what you want is not on the menu, you can likely add it, if they have it. The crust is perfection and the sauce is super good. Their grilled filet is a 7oz. filet, with a nice serving of grilled broccolini, cauliflower puree, and a red wine reduction. I love it rare. It is just so good, Everything they have there is great, so spend the money and go. And don't forget the desert.

I have always heard of and obviously seen Galleto Ristorante in Downtown since moving to Modesto, but have never been. As someone with a gluten allergy, I didn't think it was somewhere I could eat. My friend that used to live here with Celiacs said there were Gluten Free options, so we went ahead and met for an early dinner. The ambiance was nice. Beautiful restaurant both inside and out on the patio. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server, Jo, is a favorite from a previous restaurant where she worked, so it was nice to see her again! She was well-informed and well-spoken on the menu and its specifics as to what could work for people with Celiacs/Gluten Allergy. We ended up doing a split of the short rib and the duck. The short rib was fall-apart, melt in your mouth, DELICIOUS! And the duck was tender with a crispy skin and a thin layer of fat for that unctuous succulent experience. The polenta and celery root purées were both well done. Creamy and flavorful without being heavy. I look forward to going to Galleto Ristorante again, VERY soon!

I was passing through Modesto and decided to eat Italian. The ambiance is very formal and modern, and pleasing. I started off with the bruschetta, which is seasonal because they use fresh tomatoes. It was the best bruschetta I've ever eaten. I believe an Italian restaurant is only as good as its lasagne. Unfortunately, it was rather dry and a bit burnt. The tomato sauce around it was not that tasty. The peach cobbler dessert was too syrupy and sweet, and the biscuit it was served with didn't compliment it well. The overall service was pretty good. The four star rating is because of the bruschetta.

We had the best anniversary dinner here! Our waitress was absolutely fantastic. The food and service are superb and unfortunately I'm going to want to come back soon especially for that risotto and roasted beet salad. The restaurant is quite beautiful it was once a bank (Wells Fargo I believe) in 2001 it was converted into this beautiful and delicious restaurant.

The Ambience is lovely, we prefer to sit outside. There are climbing vines and water fountains that make you feel like you've been l transported out of Modesto to somewhere magical; I just like to sit back and soak it in.... I do recommend the Chicken Parmesan, the Tiramisu and expresso, the Caesar and wedge salad are good too. The service is always top notch as well! We just went for our anniversary on a Wednesday evening and were brought two glasses of complimentary champagne. We had a sweet surprise, a chocolate coin in our Tiramisu that said, Happy Anniversary! Go for dessert and coffee at least to check out the place!

Came here for the first time on Valentine's Day and it was the nicest restaurant in all of Modesto. The vibe was amazing. Service was wonderful and attentive and the food was delicious. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back soon.

We went for our anniversary dinner. Started with some great wine and bruschetta. Bruschetta I will not ever order again, the bread was almost stale tasting and fell apart. We also tried the beet salad that was great. Atmosphere was great and they had some Awesome back round music. Octopus was excellent and the seafood risotto was perfect. All and all great dinner with amazing service.

Think about elegance and amazing flavors together! That's how I describe my dinner tonight at Galletto Restaurant. To begin with, Cal at the reception was a fantastic host! We made a last minute reservation and arrived 15 minutes late and it was not a problem at all - it was a busy night for them. We had an appetizer ( Baby Octopus ) which blow my mind away. Btw, the soft fresh made bread served before dinner was to die for. We chose two main dishes absolutely delicious Pork & Cannelloni, my Lord! Both plates were clean! Stuff was espetacular! We'll definitely go back!

Warm lighting, always full and lively, friendly attentive service, food is always cooked perfectly and well presented. Their fresh bread with the olive oil and balsamic is addictive. The salmon and mashed potatoes are my go to but the chicken is also exceptional. Husband loved his steak. Their pizzas are thin crust and freshly baked in a fire oven. Desserts are very rich, definitely enough to share.

The food and drinks are always amazing, but this time we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Dulce (host and server) and Cal (general manager). They were both so sweet and made our time so much more fun! They're the best!

I went for my birthday. We had reservations for 6pm on the patio on a Friday night. They were pretty busy, but everything was brought in a timely manner. We got menus that say happy birthday on them. They offered a complimentary glass of champagne, but I do not drink, so I declined. I ordered the fritto misto as an appetizer, but it was so good, I forgot to take a photo. The complimentary bread was amazing, very flavorful, and the perfect texture. My brother got the strawberry gold rush. He didn't seem to care for it, but it is very pretty. I do like the mocktail selection, as well. He also ordered the duck breast and really liked it. Both my parents ordered the salmon, and they cleared the plate. I got the lobster fettuccine with no bacon, and it was probably the best pasta I've had. It was so flavorful, with a great aftertaste as well. The sauce was the perfect spice. The portions were also very good. It was expensive, bur I can see coming back for a special event with reservations.

I usually have an amazing experience here but this time things were different. The food was good but I would have liked more then a sprinkle of cheese on my pasta. It was my birthday and the waitress couldn't care less, even though the menu noted it. The Christmas party music was playing so loud and it really ruined the experience for me. I didn't want to stay for champagne or dessert this time.

Phenomenal night. Came here for a girls night, happy and so thrilled with the service we received. Our waiters Jesse and Kelsey . The hostess staff also was so pleasant and was able to fit us in the patio area. Which I was pleasantly surprised was so warm on the chilly night I came to Gallettos. I had ordered the rosemary chicken which was amazing and had all of my friends wishing they had ordered that, although they all loved their choice of meal. At the end of our night we last minute reminded Jesse we had a friend's birthday coming up and he had two delicious vanilla bean ice creams delivered to us. During this night the manager I'm assuming visited us and we also mentioned how amazing our night has gone at Gallettos. Definitely will be a returning customer.

We had heard great things about this restaurant and they're true! We celebrated our wedding anniversary here a couple days ago. It was great! Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance was very romantic- candle light kind of dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the house bread which was delicious! Fried octopus, ribeye, salmon and two desserts- chocolate mousse cake and tiramisu and red wine. It was absolutely fabulous! I would highly recommend for a romantic dinner or anniversary!

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Galletto last night. We ordered the same food on the special menue (crab and lobster mix). Our dinners were too salty that we tried but were only able to have half of our plates. The service was great.

My husband made dinner reservations at Galletto's for my pre-birthday celebrations The hostess was very nice greeted us as soon as we walked in, asked for our names, and wished me a happy birthday. The manager welcomed us as well, greeted my husband by name which was a nice touch. Their music choice and ambience was top notch!! Very beautiful and romantic. We were walked to our table which was for 4 people. There was young man who welcomed us, brought us bread to our table and water. The bread was cold. Our waitress then introduced herself, and asked us about drinks, I told her for the time being I was ok with water my husband was still thinking about it. She let me know, because it was my birthday she would bring me a complementary glass of wine and gave me two options, she had me at rose. We didn't see our waitress for about 15 minutes, and my husband still had not ordered his drink. She finally came over and said "oh this never got to you" the glass of wine was sweaty as like it had been poured just never picked up. My husband then ordered a soda. She told us the specials and took our order. It took another 15 minutes to get my husband's soda. I ordered the chef special which was panko/lavender crusted chicken, on a bed of mashed potatoes, with a mushroom reduction sauce and green beans. My husband ordered the baked lasagna with a Caesar salad, she asked if anchovies were ok on the salad and my husband HATES anchovies so he was very thankful she mentioned it, obviously he opted out. His salad came shortly after our order was placed, he enjoyed it, I took a few bites of it, and one of the last bites I took, sure enough there was an anchovy, it was disgusting, after picking around and looking for more, there was several under the salad, very hidden. It gave me a really bad stomach ache. Our waitress did not come by to check on us, no drink refills, nothing. The food was taking some time. We were sitting right in front of the kitchen, and I noticed a plate sitting there for some time, and nobody picking it up, I really hoped it wasn't my food because it sat there at least 20 minutes, sure enough several minutes later the lasagna came up, and both were picked up and brought to our table, by a young man. My food was cold, but the chicken was still warm on the inside, I should have sent it back, but I hate to be that person. The chicken being warm on the inside made the cold mashed potatoes and green beans not that terrible, I guess. My husband enjoyed his Lasagna, although he would have enjoyed it with some bread or a side of veggies? But our waitress didn't come by to check on us after we got our food. We ate our food the entire time wondering if she would ever come check on us. She didn't, we were done with our food, no drink refills, nothing. We were dying to get out of there as soon as possible but we couldn't wave anyone down to get out bill. Finally, we asked a young gentleman for boxes, our waitress came by and asked if we wanted dessert, we declined and asked for our bill. We had our card ready when she came back, we just wanted to pay and get out of there! Their music choice and ambience was top notch!! Very beautiful and romantic, but the service and food fell short, very short. Doubt we would come here again. Pretty bummed because this place is pretty pricey.

First time here to celebrate my bday and I tell you I was not disappointed! I had a ribeye steak w/mashed potatoes and oooh my gaaawd was it good! The vegetables were a bit too salty for my liking, but I still ate them haha. They were cooked just how I like them. Alcoholic beverages were good not too strong were you can enjoy the drink. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and very knowledge of the restaurants specials, menu and drinks. Ambiance was nice and relaxing, quiet enough where you can enjoy a conversation. Other establishments need to come here to take notes on what good customer service is! Most definitely recommend this place!

I've been wanting to come here for years. It did not disappoint. Loved the ambiance, very elegant. They played oldies, which I love. Our server was amazing. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Perfect place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. I will definitely be returning.

Top notch service! The service staff at Galletto Ristorante make having a meal there, will be even more special! Water glasses that never seem to get empty and charming servers every time! Besides excellent service, every meal we've ever had - pizza, pasta, short rib and all desserts are expertly prepared. Easily one of our Modesto favorites!

To start off this place is a 10/10. I highly recommend this place for Valentine's Day, Anniversary, a hot date, special occasion, or if you got it like that $$$ every other week or weekend. Forreals though! Lol My husband and I came for Valentine's Day (the day after to be exact) Customer service was great, the waitress kept on bringing us bread, we probably had like 3 plates of bread. Lol We got our appetizer pretty quickly, that was delicious. Then our meal came shortly after & the ribeye was so gooood. I got medium & my husband got medium rare, with wild mushrooms and mashed potatoes. So delicious. We would definitely come back again.

Got the ribeye and it was great! Good cut of beef. Sat at counter watched the pizza guy go to work. Felt like I missed out it looked amazing.

Everything is always amazing. The food is consistently delicious, staff super friendly. I don't feel like I am in Modesto when I am eating here. So lucky that we have a 5 star restaurant here locally.

After multiple experiences here, I can only say I've had mediocre food once. The rest of my experiences have all been outstanding. Excellent ambience, professional service, and delicious food with great cocktails. A definite go to in Modesto.

Went out for a date night and it was everything we wanted. The lighting was beautiful and the waiter was always checking in and the food was brought out fast. The food was amazing, I couldn't finish it because it was so filling. The only downside was it was quite loud.

Great ambience, menu, and staff. Food was excellent, and the staff was so professional and friendly. I'll definitely be back.

Went for dinner on a Monday night with 9 of us to celebrate a birthday. Everyone was pleasantly surprised that their dinner was absolutely delicious. It just seems Monday nights for dinner is never as great, but not here, it was great. A few said that it was a young woman that was Chef, if so, we applaud her work. We also want to thank Bradley for his exceptional service. He went out of his way to please us. I have to say that Galleto's is the best fine dining in or near Modesto. Pick Galleto's for your next dinner, you won't be disappointed.

I changed my star rating from 1 star to 5 star because I was incredibly impressed with how much the manager Cal worked to change the experience for my family. He contacted me, brought us back to for a redo and even made the new reservation himself. I sometimes think in life, mistakes happen, and It's how we choose to response to those mistakes that really makes the difference. Cal offered for my family of 4 to come back on a day that was convenient for us to redo the dinner that did not go well for us on the house. We had a server (who was pretty timid and may have come across as indifferent on his own) but Cal was so helpful that we're left feeling that we had amazing service. He checked in at every course of our meal to make sure everything was good. He even offered some incredibly helpful wine paring situations and remembered the small details (down to the candle to make my daughter's 18th birthday special). I do think we are all human and when someone goes out of their way to turn a bad experience around I really admire them for this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Review 5/29/25 I have always really liked Galletto and have found it an attentive location. Our family took my daughter after graduation. The location did not feel more busy than usual. However, it did feel like things were incredibly off service wise from everyone working. So, I am not sure if it was busy earlier and if the staff was just overwhelmed and having a rough night before we arrived. When we checked in, the girl who seated us was really not paying attention, and she continued to making seating mistakes, and she then took out her frustration on us. When we checked in, we mentioned we had reservations for a party of 7, and we were still waiting for 2 people in our party to arrive. She said okay, I will seat you now and took us to a table for 5. I mentioned we need a table that will fit two additional people, as I mentioned we are still waiting for them to arrive. She made us go back to the front while she answered the phone and figured it out. She then said she was ready to seat us. She took us back to the same table we had just told her was not large enough to seat our party and squeezed in an extra chair, making it now seat 6. I looked at her and said, but we had 7 people. She was frustrated at this point. She said, but you said 2. I didn't have the heart to tell her that 2 plus 5 equals 7. So she returned us to wait while she talked to her manager and figured it out. 5 mins later or so we were seated for a 3rd time and a table that fit our party. The strange part was our party number was also listed in the reservation, and I had called to confirm it the day before. When our food arrived, our server also treated us with the same inattention. She was nice and took our order, but did not really check in on the quality of the food. My meal had so much oil, it was swimming in it. The oil tasted rancid and made me immediately sick. After two bites, I couldn't eat it. I was starving, and I badly wanted another meal, but she went the entire meal without checking on me. When it was time to leave, she came to my completely full plate and asked if I wanted her to box it. I told her I only ate two bites, but it made me feel very sick so it's okay, I don't want to box just take it away. She didn't offer a substitute or to ask me if I might want to eat something else. I was hungry, but to have a meal that was floating in oil was a little too unhealthy for me. When she brought us the check, she did say that she refunded the meal. That was nice, but I really did want to purchase an actual meal. Our tab was $377 and afterward I went to the grocery store to buy something that I could cook for myself. The manager never checked in on us. I wish he had because I really would have shard how I felt about the attention of the restaurant the entire evening. Even though we have loved eating here in the past, it does not seem like the service or atmosphere we remembered.

We celebrated my wife's Birthday dinner at Galletos last evening. "Tina" reserved their "family room" for the 7 of us. (It was intimate & quiet.) Service was outstanding! Food was fabulous! Would definitely recommend Galletos to any & all. Thank you Galettos!!
