We had lunch delivered to our office today and it was amazing! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with a Caesar salad and everything came fresh, hot, and delicious. The Alfredo was creamy and flavorful, the salad was crisp, and the rolls were soft and warm — perfect comfort food. Everyone in the office was impressed, and the portions were generous too. Definitely recommend for office lunches or catering — they made it super easy and tasty!

Great little spot! Sat outside and I think our servers actually forgot about us because they didn’t bring out menus or waters until one of our party went back inside. After that though our server was kind and attentive. We tried the greek salad, lots of the pasta dishes, and wine. It was good but the pasta definitely wasn’t fresh in terms of when it was made. The gnocchi tasted like it was made from frozen pasta and the spaghetti noodles served with the eggplant parm also seemed like it was boxed. Saw reviews about the vodka sauce but honestly it was a little watery. Maybe we went too late because it was a Sunday night. Overall pretty average experience. *Edit: Not gnocchi, the tortellini*

Google
Very hard working staff. We are here around 7 pm and they were still packed from people coming in to get dinner. Definitely has a family owned vibe. I highly recommend any of the dishes with their vodka sauce.

Food was delicious! Pretty quiet place and not packed! The drinks were potent and satisfying! The scallops were perfectly cooked!

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The food is amazing. I believe they are family owned. The servers here are so nice every time I come in it feels like I’m greeted by family! Even if we have one waiter multiple people always come to the table asking if we need bread or drink refills. There are tons of regulars here which makes sense because anyone that’s been here of course would want to come back. Almost every time I come I get eggplant parm with vodka sauce it is one of the best I’ve ever had they cut the eggplant so thin and it’s cooked and seasoned to perfection every time! I also recently tired the tour of Italy, I was able to substitute some of the meat options for vegetarian options which was great because I also LOVE the cheese tortellini it is amazing! This is really one of those restaurants that you can try anything new on the menu and you will thoroughly enjoy it! If you do plan on coming here on a weekend make sure you get in 15 or 20 minutes early because they do get busy. Even when it’s busy the service is still amazing!

Google
Great spot, very authentic- which is difficult to find around North Texas. The Vespa out front is a very nice tough. The people are very welcoming and helpful. You are never rushed, the food is not brought out too quickly. The prices are extremely reasonable. They have a nice quaint section outside. The chicken parm sub is literally the best I've had in Texas, this coming from a Boston boy should hold some weight. If you haven't tried it here, give it a shot. If you ahve tried it, then you know what I'm saying. Also, the rolls adn butter are killer!

Google
The service was great, and the rolls and appetizers were great. I didn’t particularly like my entree. I ordered the chicken piccata. It needed more salt/flavor and the sauce volume was excessive. My husband enjoyed his ravioli in vodka sauce with chicken. I would come back, but maybe order something different next time.

Google
The service is warm and welcoming. The food is more than amazing and their prices are good for what you get. I had a whole container of leftovers because you get so much.

Yelp
Great Family run business, best host in Frisco. Always great service, generous portions served with a friendly smile. Highly recommended to anyone looking for great Italian dish

Yelp
Consistently great casual Italian good and great and friendly service. A bit noisy at peak times but has a great vibe, and can see sports on the 2 TVs. Great salads, great dishes, very reasonable prices, good menu selections. The pizza isn't great - overly dry and tasteless crust. Dessert is a bit small for the price. Wine is very reasonable. Plus point: No tax in tip calculation. One big minus - a mixed up take-out order (miscommunication from the order taker and despite confirming with her) meant driving all the way back to get the right one, the other dinner got cold before getting back with the right one, plus we paid for both the wrong order and the fixed one. We're regulars but this has put us off returning anytime soon, we should not have been charged for this mistake.

Yelp
Flavors are good but the pasta is so soggy and yuck. Spaghetti noodles in the Murphy and so mushy and the rigatoni can't even grab it with fork they just break up. 2 entres out of three going into the trash because this is just disrespectful. Like I'm eating food meant for an infant. The dinner bread they give it you way better than the garlic bread. The garlic bread is just a split French roll with barely any garlic. Don't waste your thoughts on it. The minestrone soup? Has soggy noodles in it too haha

Yelp
We were craving some local, decadent Italian for our weekend in Frisco and I believe we achieved that in Gallo Nero. The reviews are correct, this is a local and neighborhood favorite, as evidenced by the steady stream of folks in and out of the restaurant all night. That said we only had a minimal wait time and the server was quick to ply us with some drinks in this very social and loud atmosphere. Looking at the menu, it was exactly what we were looking for - just the menu you would expect at the local Italian place in your town, with the items cooked to dang near perfection. For me, I opted for the Lobster Ravioli, which was smothered in a decadent and delicious vodka sauce, and The Wife loved her Chicken Piccata. Throw in some fresh-baked bread and we had a great dinner outing at Gallo Nero. So whether you just want to stop in for a drink at the lively bar or have some of your hometown Italian favorites, you can't go wrong at Gallo Nero.

Jodean E.

Yelp
The food was outstanding, especially the lobster ravioli, and the service was great. We will definitely be back

Yelp
Best. Italian. Food. Ever! The service is impeccable and the restaurant is always so clean! The bar is great too! Order some pasta and grab a cocktail-you will not be sorry you did! It's fantastic!

Yelp
My son recommended this place. Came on a Friday e evening and it was busy. We sat down quickly though and server arrived to get our drink orders. Chicken alfredo pizza - not a pizza person but was delicious Chicken rigatoni - daughter said she enjoyed it Lobster ravioli- great flavor, like I dipped the free bread in it Chicken marsala- son ate it all Chicken alfredo- son ate a Calamari- the best, so light

Yelp
Just yesterday night I went to celebrate my early birthday with gallo Nero! We had the sweetest Serbian waitress who was very funny and helpful(I wish i remembered her name). My parents and brother joined me last night and we all got great dishes , some which I cannot pronounce . The place is clean, food comes out hot, drinks are great. Overall an easy Italian place , pretty casual not too fancy!

Yelp
Normally, this is our go-to Italian. The food is excellent, however, our service was awful. Server identified on receipt as AM Service A. Long hit, I think probably a hairpiece, saw her carrying a child thru the the kitchen, when we first got there. Then without washing her hands, and her fingers messing with her hair took our drink order. Again, without washing her hands brought out water, then went and visited the table with children and an adult, was awhile before she came to take our order as I was constantly looking over and caught her eye. She took our order entered it, went and sat with children again. I saw her go get my salad and put the dressing into the container, deliver it then go fix drinks in the bar, still messing with the hair and I never saw her wash or apply sanitizer to her hands. Fingers always messing with her hair. Put your hair up, leave it alone!!! Our food was delivered(by different person, thank goodness) we were not offered black pepper in our salad, nor Parmesan on our dinner item. After finishing our food we waited about 10 minutes (empty water glasses) and another waitress asked if she could remove our plates. Our waitress was serving another table. It's another 10 minutes before the other waitress told her she needed to check on us, she said, how's it going? I said we would like our tab. Husband had credit card ready but she just dropped it off. Finally the other waitress took it toward the register to process our card and our waitress said, I'll do it. Needless to say. I will be asking who is waiting on what areas before I seat myself. There were 5 tables with customers, 2 active waitresses, but oursy seemed to only have 2 of the tables. Very disappointed. Of course, this was the o my bad experience I've had here. I'll be back, food is great, drinks are great.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 3.75/5 Ambiance: 3.75/5 Good food overall with just the right portion sizes. For a Wednesday night around 8pm, it was a full house and very loud. Upon getting seated, we waited a noticeable amount of time before trying to flag down a server. We quickly found out no one was assigned to our table, which was disappointing. However, our identified server was friendly and provided quick service. The bruschetta, frutti de mare, and margherita pizza with pepperoni were good. I would consider exploring other dishes the next time I may visit.

Gene C.

Yelp
Outstanding vibe on a Saturday early evening. Greeted immediately with a smile and shown to our table. Place was already busy. Freda introduced herself to us and Albi was our attentive waiter. Food was cooked perfectly. Had the Tuna appetizer which was glazed with balsamic. Scallops were tasty.

Yelp
We go to Gallo Nero on a regular basis! We Love this place!!! The food and drinks are always amazing!!! The service is always perfect!!! The ambiance is like a perfect family restaurant!!! Tonight Ashley and her team took it to a new level! Our wives made us sit on the patio and a couple of us guys were freezing. Ashley quickly solved the problem. She sent her team to Kroger to buy a blanket. OMG. You really can't imagine that type of service. See the pics and you will realize how amazing this place is.

Yelp
Came on a Friday around 6, packed, 15-25 min wait. But they moved people on quick. Ended up trying a pepperoni pizza, clams w white sauce pasta, and chicken Alfredo. I would say the chicken Alfredo was the best thing I ate, and will be back for that. Also had the turtle cheese cake. Also, very nice service!

Yelp
This is my neighborhood Italian joint. Service is great and it's always packed. The food is good, not the best I've had which is the only reason for the 4 stars. The sauces, while flavorful, tend to be a bit watery. The pizzas need more sauce as they tend to be a bit dry. Regardless I love this place for a nice quick dinner and cocktail.

Yelp
My favorite italian food in dfw. always excellent service. quality drinks and happy hour. I love their blueberry mule.

Yelp
This review is only for the pizza and the lasagna. I ordered both through door dash. So I have not visited this location in person. But the pizza was so delicious and amazing that I need to share it with my yelp friends. I ordered the extra cheese/extra crispy large Neapolitan pizza. Omg the crust- perfect- not paper thin/not too thick and soggy/not too crispy either. It was exactly the way we love it. The kind of crust you can fold and eat it without having to cut it or making a mess when you bite. It was perfect. The flavor of the crust was a bit salty/bread ish/savory/artisan bread. The cheese even though I got extra cheese it wasn't a mess of runny cheese either. It was compact and so flavorful it didn't need any other topping. The sauce was the right amount (not too much/not too little) and the flavor was not too sweet yet tomato/not too acidic/salty delicious flavor. This will be our new favorite NY style pizza joint. So good!! The lasagna was really good as well. I really like the ingredients they use at this place. You can tell they are high quality ingredients. Can't wait to go and dine here and try other plates!

Yelp
Excellent spot for good ol' traditional Italian food. Everything sounded so good so we ordered way too much (portions are extremely generous). We got: mozzarella sticks (super crunchy with the perfect cheese pull) Veal parm (subbed for fettucine alfredo which is the star of the show IMO) Chicken carciofi (hearty and flavorful) My kids got buttered spaghetti and a pizza pie. I tried a slice and it was A+. We chatted with the owners aunt and she was so nice. She gave us lots of history on the place and kept our kids entertained :)

Yelp
Went to dinner tonight. Enjoyed everything. Great service. Food was tasty. Nice clean restaurant. Thought the cake was fantastic.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Noisy restaurant, but WELL WORTH IT. Don't let the front of the restaurant fool you. This is great Italian food. LOVE this place.

Zhou Z.

Yelp
I ordered a beef lasagna along with other two dishes as the family dinner, and picked it up one hour ago. However when I came back home and found what I got is a Cheese dish, which I barely eat. I called the restaurant immediately to tell them what had happened to my order. Unfortunately the restaurant just simply told they wouldn't be making any corrections even if the order went to wrong. Their explanation was I made the order from Yelp but not from them directly. It's sounds ridiculous, because i got the food from your end directly. Obviously it made me annoyed, not just about the wrong food, but their response, so won't be back again.

Yelp
What a great spot! When you walk in, the smell is so delicious and overwhelming. The bread came out piping hot and the calamari appetizer was also nice and hot. Our server was energetic, helpful, and super kind. Great service! The owner also came to check on us- super kind and it was nice of him to ask about our experience. I ordered the cannelloni and ate the entire thing! Our entire party loved their food. Since we were celebrating my birthday they treated us to cheesecake. They sang and were super energetic despite us being the third birthday song of the night! The entire restaurant got into it and it was a great vibe. Would absolutely come back here again and suggest you do to!

Yelp
I can see how popular this Italian bistro is! We were craving for pasta & decided to try Gallo out. OMG, upon entering, it was evident how FRIENDLY the staffs were! We usually don't wait around to be seated if the wait time is over 15-minutes. However, we made an exception because of how amicable & warm the restaurant staffs were. After a short wait of about 20-minutes, we were seated with a high chair for my one year old son. We were famished and ordered the fried calamari as the app. The portion size was HUGE & the app was delicious as well. We ordered a side of meatballs & kids cheese ravioli for my son. Again, the portions were HUGE; and both dishes were yummy. I was impressed with the buttery white wine sauce (I think it also had shallot or garlic) from the ravioli dish. ALL of the dishes came out incredibly fast too! After a satisfying round of apps, moving onto the mains. I ordered the Gallo Nero salad, which was fresh & yummy w/ raisins & sliced almonds. My husband had the Chicken Murphy pasta. His entree was tasty w/ a bit of spiciness. We were so elated to have tried Gallo Nero. The interior was modern, cozy & romantic.

Yelp
Little hidden gem. Our new Italian go to. The service is outstanding. The servers are friendly, with smiles on their faces and give great suggestions. Needless to say the food is amazing. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The owner came by to check on us. The tiramisu is a must. The place is small, cozy, and seems to host many locals,

Yelp
They now take reservations! We love this restaurant, food is always amazing and d consistent. Service is always top notch. Kids love the pizza, I usually get a chicken pasta dish.
google avatar

May G.

Yelp
The food tasted frozen and bland. I got tour of Italy with chicken and the chicken was lukewarm (almost cold). They either left it out for a long time or it was frozen to start off with. The lasagna was the only good part in tour of Italy. My partner got spaghetti and said the meatballs tasted frozen. I tried it and the sauce was bland. Needed more salt and pepper.
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
The best service from the time you walk in until you check out! They are all friendly and welcoming. Our waitress checked in constantly at the right times. Food was outstanding. We started with the stuffed mushrooms and didn't even have a chance to take a picture. Husband had manicotti and I had the cannelloni. Both stuffed with just goodness. No room for dessert but regret it because they look delicious. Very beautiful ambiance with a bar. It is a small restaurant that has limited seating but they're quick to get people in and out. Pricing is reasonable and well worth its value. Give this place a shot because overall the best Italian I've had in a long time
google avatar

Aradeen R.

Yelp
Ordered door dash from here. Food arrived in a timely manner and piping hot. Ordered the rigatoni special sub spaghetti noodles. Very large portion, I could barely eat half. It was good, tasty but not really spicy in my opinion. I like bread with my red sauce pasta so I ordered the garlic cheese bread also, not knowing the pasta dish comes with 2 large garlic rolls. Nowhere on the door dash menu does it say that. Still glad I ordered the garlic cheese bread because it was very good.. I will definitely order from here again. Next time I want to try a dessert.

Karen P.

Yelp
This restaurant never disappoints! A family owned business serving family recipes. Any of the pastas are wonderful but that vodka sauce is amazing! Order an extra entree to take home.
google avatar

Valerie K.

Yelp
Wow! This spot is AMAZING! (And even better for leftovers!). The stuffed mushrooms were on point and the sauce was so flavorful! The tour of Italy let you sample 3 dishes but the lasagne was the best I've had in DFW!
google avatar

Aden T.

Yelp
This will be your go-to spot If you're looking for a restaurant with superb service, a great ambiance, feels local, Grade A Italian food, and the best Bread... you're in the right place. We have been here so many times now, we can't stay away. My favorite dish is the tortellini alla panna with grilled Chicken, and a side of either the Italian margarita or an espresso martini. The best comfort food, the best vodka sauce and the best red sauce. Really, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. A few other favorites - chicken parmigiana, lobster ravioli, and the tour of Italy gives you 3 dishes to try in smaller portions - a complete win!
google avatar

Carol B.

Yelp
Tried again and still meh. Had the rigatoni special. Pasta was gritty and al dente but the sauce was so hot it overcooked the pasta and the rigatoni was in pieces. Sauce was watery and had no much flavor. Meatballs were bland and the one half piece of sausage I had was the only good thing in there. Service was ok. Didn't check in on us and we ran out of water twice. The bread was cold. Only thing good was my house salad. I think I'll stick to pizza which I like, and salad from now on.
google avatar

Lyn A.

Yelp
We had great service and wonderful lunch specials. I can't wait to go back for dinner or happy hour in the future.

Kay B.

Yelp
Great food ! I love the eggplant . Consistently good over multiple visits. Service was good on a busy Friday night
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
This is the best Italian food in Frisco. No question about it. The restaurant is small and intimate. Great place for date night. We enjoyed the tortellini with vodka sauce and the spaghetti with Italian sausage. Probably the best Italian sausage I've had.

Kathi G.

Yelp
fast, friendly service; great food. i had the manicotti...the sauce simple as it should be & delicious. husband had a calazone, had good comments about it.

Anaadi A.

Yelp
The food was very well done the chicken rigatoni vodka I had was pretty good a little Rick but overall delicious, the ambiance looked very nice quaint restaurant and the service was generally quick
google avatar

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Great place! Went today. Sunday! I had the chicken fettuccine and side salad. DELICIOUS! My husband loved the meatballs and spaghetti! Large portions. Happy hour is 3-6! The lemon blueberry martini had amazing flavor! We will be back!
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
Food and service are the best!! They will remember your name always. Wednesdays are great because they offer 1/2 of bottle of wine. It's the best Italian food I ever had.

Monica H.

Yelp
Horrible!!! Order 2 pizza to go No flavor doug hot disintegrated because was so greasy and over loaded w cheese !!

Prince K.

Yelp
Food was great, serve time was a little long but well worth it and gave our party a chance to converse over bread. Service was great too super friendly staff. Place is super clean and well kept.
google avatar

Russell M.

Yelp
First time in I loved the ambience and the bar area of this small family restaurant. We had pizza and a pasta dish both were great. We will be back!

Randy T.

Yelp
The food was great and the service matched the food. They even modified the menu choices a bit for me, so basically you can just tell them what you want and they'll make it even if it's not on their menu. Extremely attentive and friendly service. I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Camila W.

Yelp
Me and my father loved this place the food was good and so was the service! Take it from a pizza connoisseur this was TOTALLY worth the drive.
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic menu and exceptional service. A must for the Frisco area, so don't put off a visit.

Lynn L.

Yelp
Obvious issues here. This was the "stuffed mushrooms". We order delivery from here quite often and it's mediocre at best. I think we are done.
google avatar

Sara H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!!!! The best fettuccine alfredo I've ever had (and I've had a lot). We also had the shrimp scampi which was amazing.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
One of our absolute favorites! The food is incredible & the service is great! We have always had a wonderful time everytime we've visited.
google avatar

Leena J.

Yelp
Julia was a star, she made our lunch experience 5 stars! She was so so wonderful to us. We ordered a pizza and pasta and everything was fresh and hot. Great portion sizes and wonderful experience! The pizza was major old school delicious Italian vibes and the spaghetti was flavorful and filling! Great places. A little pricey with the add on toppings and soft drinks, but go check them out!
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely always crowded when I go- u feel like the hussle and bustle of city life any hour of the day. Love to see that 'uge pizza coming to our table and we start nibbling on it lol. When I have my guests from France visiting I always like to impress them with the "everything is big in Texas" by taking them to Galo Nero
