It pains me to leave this review, I have been to coconuts and G&B oyster bar probably 100 times over the past 25 years or more. Today, we valet the car, seat ourselves at a high top in the oyster bar, or at least a third of the tables were empty. This was at 4:30 in the afternoon when it wasn't particularly busy. We ordered drinks a dozen oysters, and we each ordered something for an early dinner. Specifically the green goddess salad with Lobster and the grilled mahi.
The oysters took their time to arrive, but they did arrive and we ate them. They were OK. Nothing special, and looking back, not the oysters that were listed on the little printed menu, but rather on a new one that our server brought out after explaining they were out of those , and by the way, we're out of one of these too. But in fairness, the oysters weren't bad.
Another near half hour passed, at which point our server came by to say the food should be right up, within 30 seconds another server who was unfamiliar to me, came up and said he had checked on our food. It would be five minutes, and 30 seconds after that, the manager came and said your food will be out in five minutes. 10 minutes after that, I thought the attention of our server, and told her we wanted to pay for the oysters and leave. With that the manager came out, carrying our dishes, so I relented.
That is not the end of the story. No sooner had they stepped away, then I realized the salad wasn't even dressed. The whole point of a green goddess dressing is to have green goddess dressing on it. I have ordered this at least 25 times before. We called the manager over, told him we were done, and to his credit, he apologized and comped everything. We left. We did not eat the food. The whole experience was ridiculous. We were there an hour and a half, and then waited another 15 minutes because the valet parking Was not particularly efficient..
