An intimate, seafood-first sibling to Coconuts with a serious raw bar, paellas, and seasonal specials. It’s recommended by the local tourism guide and hosts an annual Oyster Fest, drawing diehard shellfish fans to the docks.

If you love seafood this is the place for you. Get the oysters 🦪, the grilled octopus (cooked perfectly), the scoobies, the steamers (clams), and the hush puppies. The waitstaff is incredibly NICE. Amazing service. Recommend getting a reservation for big groups or you can find a spot at the bar.

We were looking for a place to try a variety of oysters and this was perfect. We ordered four different kinds and some wine . Also went for their specialty of garlic butter crab deliciousness - totally recommend

Google
The Oyster Bar and adjoining Coconuts share menus, kitchens and staff. Freshly shucked east coast oysters and the baked Surf&Turf oysters with crab were amazing. The "snapper" was weird, on a rubbery skin, but tasted good. Bar drinks are expensive but bottles of wine are moderately priced. The venue, on a marina, is perfect for seafood lovers.

Sat by the bar, very comfortable. Bartenders are very attentive and gave us good recommendations on food! Had the oysters that were super fresh and tasty as well as the lobster boil which had plenty of seafood and a nice presentation. My girlfriend had the fish with arugula which was excellent and a nice piece was served. Had the lobster bisque which was a little cold but they rectified when asked. Awesome food, great atmosphere and worth the $$$.

My girls and I stopped here for oysters. Great daily selection. Also had mussels, stone crab claws, and deviled eggs. All was outstanding. Great staff too. Will be back!

I have been coming to G&B for over 15 years. It’s been a few years since I’ve been since the pandemic started and I live in Canada. That being said it’s always been the same food and the same service. This time we went they changed their formula for the lobster rolls and discontinued the alligator ribs. The were two staple items that I have literally enjoyed consistently for over a decade and was always part of the itinerary whenever we would visit florida (usually 1-2 times Per year). The lobster roll was packed with lobster as usual but it lost its charm being served in the little rolls with cheese and bacon. This was now served cold and was a more mature taste but it lacked it previous flavour. The lack of alligator ribs was also a missed favourite but changes happen. The grilled oysters were delicious and had a good kick to them. To top it off the coconut cheesecake with berry drizzle was phenomenal. Staff taking the booking at the front were somewhat unpleasant but our waitress was great and helpful with making suggestions. This has been the most consistent restaurant I’ve ever visited so it was disappointing to see the menu changed after over 10 years of having the exact same items that we grew to love. If you are patient enough to wait for the outdoor seating with a view, it’s worth it. Expect minimum 30 min wait times on almost any day or time you visit.

Google
G&B Oyster Bar is a companion restaurant to Coconuts, and we grabbed a quick beer at the bar while we awaited our seats at Coconuts. The customer service was outstanding, and the drinks were great. G&B Oyster Bar servers the same menu as Coconuts. Do yourself a favor and give G&B Oyster Bar a try; you will not be disappointed! If you find my review helpful, please click the thumbs-up👍icon! Thanks!

Google
The service is fantastic and the oysters are so fresh and delicious! I had the fish and chips - so good - and we had the cheesy crab dip for an app. The Clam Chowder was a little salty for my husband but he’s sensitive to salt. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was visiting friends in Fort Lauderdale and we were hungry and decided to follow our noses for dinner. We walked by here twice, looked at the menu on the second pass, and decided to try it. Our server, Ashley with an H was awesome. Very attentive and friendly. We ordered the Rappahannock oysters, Mussels, Grilled Jamaican Wings with blue cheese on the side and Scoobies. I wish I'd taken a few pictures when the food came out. Everything was hot, delicious and devoured almost instantly.

Yelp
Food was awesome & Service fantastic... Thoroughly enjoyed the meals and the setting ... A lot of praise & zero complaints ... I'll be returning!

Yelp
The food here gets a 5! But it was so loud inside I honestly felt like I couldn't hear my table mates and also had a hard time hearing the servers. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I would come back. I had never had snapper and I've never liked a shrimp but I really enjoyed both!

Yelp
Three of us walked to Coconuts for dinner and the wait was well over an hour. Rick L wandered into G&B Oyster Bar which is seamlessly connected to Coconuts and found 3 seats at the oyster bar. Perfect! The restaurant has Old Florida ambiance with a very casual, touristy, old school seafood motif. Two oysters shuckers were constantly busy in front of us. I admire shuckers because it's so difficult to handle oysters. Of course we ordered oysters while lamenting there were no $1 oyster specials. 2 of us shared a dozen. The oysters were fresh from the west coast. Rick L liked his burger and my Linguine and Clams in the shell was nice. Richard S ordered a roast chicken (at an oyster bar, oy) which he found somewhat dry. G&B was fun to go to, but super busy, super crowded and super loud even for a bar. Our waitress was attentive and friendly in spite of everything going on.

Yelp
I mean wow. We had the Scoobies which are a must and the seafood tower. It was all delightful and we can't wait to visit Ft Lauderdale again to come back to this gem.
google avatar

Yelp
Best food in Fort Lauderdale yet!! You seat yourself... the spot is open, loud, but fun. We sat in front of the shuckers station... definitely fishy lol, but the shuckers were sociable and gave suggestions. Listen, order the scoobies, order the scoobies, order the scoobies! **Coconuts menu** We did times 2... and both times were simply amazing!!! We are going back before we leave. Also had the surf and surf oysters (G&B menu) and my lord, those were delicious especially with the butter sauce from the scoobies. Drinks also pack a punch, I'd recommend the spicy watermelon margarita! Be sure to stop by if you want pure deliciousness!

Yelp
We had the best date night eating at the bar! The oysters were so fresh and there were lots of options. Great place for a leisurely meal! The bar service is spectacular. One of my favs in Ft. Lauderdale.

Yelp
It pains me to leave this review, I have been to coconuts and G&B oyster bar probably 100 times over the past 25 years or more. Today, we valet the car, seat ourselves at a high top in the oyster bar, or at least a third of the tables were empty. This was at 4:30 in the afternoon when it wasn't particularly busy. We ordered drinks a dozen oysters, and we each ordered something for an early dinner. Specifically the green goddess salad with Lobster and the grilled mahi. The oysters took their time to arrive, but they did arrive and we ate them. They were OK. Nothing special, and looking back, not the oysters that were listed on the little printed menu, but rather on a new one that our server brought out after explaining they were out of those , and by the way, we're out of one of these too. But in fairness, the oysters weren't bad. Another near half hour passed, at which point our server came by to say the food should be right up, within 30 seconds another server who was unfamiliar to me, came up and said he had checked on our food. It would be five minutes, and 30 seconds after that, the manager came and said your food will be out in five minutes. 10 minutes after that, I thought the attention of our server, and told her we wanted to pay for the oysters and leave. With that the manager came out, carrying our dishes, so I relented. That is not the end of the story. No sooner had they stepped away, then I realized the salad wasn't even dressed. The whole point of a green goddess dressing is to have green goddess dressing on it. I have ordered this at least 25 times before. We called the manager over, told him we were done, and to his credit, he apologized and comped everything. We left. We did not eat the food. The whole experience was ridiculous. We were there an hour and a half, and then waited another 15 minutes because the valet parking Was not particularly efficient..

Yelp
So the oysters in this picture are actually from G&B Oyster Bar however the two restaurants or combined. They were so fresh! I love the ambiance, try going right before sunset and sit outside by the water! As always the staff is very friendly, great service!

Yelp
G&B Oyster Bar never disappoints! This spot truly has the best seafood around - everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The wine selection was extensive, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for each dish. Special shout-out to Katie, who provided top-notch service from start to finish. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and really enhanced the experience. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great seafood spot with a warm, welcoming atmosphere!

Yelp
This is hands-down, one of the best seafood restaurants in the Fort Lauderdale area. It is associated with coconuts restaurant, which takes reservations. The oyster bar is first come first serve and you need to have your Hawkeyes on. as soon as the table looks like it's free, simply go over and claim it. Services excellent and fast and the food is absolutely fantastic !

Yelp
We have been to Coconuts in the one side of this establishment. Today we went to the G&B Oyster Bar side for a late lunch. We were seated immediately and service was quick and friendly. We had hush puppies and grilled octopus as appetizers, both of which were tasty. The birria langostino tacos were just as tasty. The clam chowder was rich and creamy. The lobster fried rice was flavorful, as was the lobster grilled cheese special. A delicious dining experience overall and hopefully we will make it back there soon.

Yelp
Happened upon this place as it was near our hotel on Ft Lauderdale beach and had good reviews. In the evening it's more like two restaurants in one and you get both menus. First-- the SERVICE was IMPECCABLE! The entire staff works all the tables together all night long and you are never left wanting, needing, or wondering about ANYTHING. This was the best service we have ever had and we've had some good service! We tried the specials-- crab stuffed oysters and crab claws which were both delicious-- the claws were actually the best. We opted for the sesame crusted tuna as another shareable and it was delicious as well. Everything tasted fresh and was well seasoned. We chose salads for dinner and between the filet salad and the grilled salmon salad we were happily stuffed and I couldn't even finish mine. The filet was done perfectly as was the salmon. The dressings were very tasty too. Definitely give this place a try.

Yelp
Food/drinks: Scoobies tasted pretty fresh and the garlic/olive oil sauce was especially delicious. $27 seemed a little steep for five claws of that size though. Blackberry mojito was a nice mix of fruity and strong. Ambience: Comfortable table and seat with a nice view of the water! Service: appropriately frequent and attentive; staff brought bread refills and also wet towel wipes which were really helpful.

Yelp
My friends and I went for spring break and we loved it! Had no problem seating 8 people and we had amazing service. I personally had the buffalo rock shrimp while my friends had the jumbalaya, scoobie snacks, and self-peeled shrimp respectively. We were all very impressed by our food. And it all came out quick. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for seafood!

Yelp
Hungry after flying into town and checking into the hotel, we walked across the street to try G&B Oyster Bar. The place was busy, but we were able to find a spot at the bar. After looking the menu over I decide to order the Raging Bull cocktail and the seafood paella that I saw being made fresh on the outdoor patio. The Raging bull is a whiskey-based drink with peach and maple syrup. The drink was fine but a little too sweet for my taste so I would order something else next time. When the paella came out, it reminded me of a crawfish boil as it had huge portions of crab, corn, shrimp, clams, fish with a well season rice base. Regardless, the flavor was there, and the food didn't last long. All the ingredients soaked up the seasoning and the rice base was the thing that brought it all together. Next time I'm in town, I'll be sure to stop by and try more of the menu.

Yelp
Probably the best meal I had during my quick trip to Ft. Lauderdale. We were able to find a spot at the bar during FLIBS! The lobster club is a win! Big chunks of lobster and avocado. We also have the lobster cheese fries which is how all fries should be with both liquid cheese and shredded cheese. So good! Our service was great too. Everyone works together which takes the waiting for a server game out. Everyone was very attentive.

Yelp
Secret tip: ask the serves for the specials. We had two dozen oysters, local grill fish of the night and shrimp. All of it delicious. We sat at bar (almost an indoor and outdoor feel). It was pouring rain and made us grateful to have a fantastic meal!
google avatar

Yelp
This place, yes in cold January, was extremely busy but the team driven service left you wanting for nothing. The food runners were great, servers answering every question, and food from starters to entrees were amazing! Great job and experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this spot! Can be difficult to get in but it is worth the wait for a reason! I've been coming here for years on my layovers as a pilot (first time 2010) and they are consistently great! You have to get the Scoobie snacks! LARGE Crab claws in a to die for butter/ garlic/ red pepper dipping sauce. SOO good! Fresh fish and wonderful seafood specials always. Fort Lauderdale has so many great restaurants, but this is by far one of my favorites. Business casual, and not too stuffy.

Yelp
Omggggggg this place was amazing!!! From The time we walked in!!! Sat at the bar and Pamela walked over with her amazing smile and ready to take care of our big group at the bar! As soon as I sat down I told her I came for the surf n turn oysters, I blinked twice and she had them in front of me!!!!! I ordered the oysters, the scoobys, and a salad, my group ordered the dip, the a 5 other appetizers, everything was amazingggggg!!! Pamela brought over everything before I could even asked for it, after dinner she even brought over warm towels, she made this dinner while we were in town AMAZINGGGGGG!!!! I loved all the food, and the service was excellent!!!
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Belly up here and don't bother with coconuts!! The only reason I say this is because the menu is the same, the wait is shorter and the atmosphere is way fun! We had oysters one night. The Scoobies were amazing!! Spicy and garlicky. The second night we came back for more! Pesto scallops, oysters and I had the potato encrusted snapper. Whoa!!! So good. Also the service here is like a machine. The staff are a blast. Honest about what they like. And they never miss a beat. From keeping your drinks filled, napkins folded and empty plates picked up. We will go back again and again.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good seafood. Good variety of dishes. The place is extremely busy on weekends and the decibel level can get high. Definitely recommend for groups looking for a fun place to have a good seafood dinner.

Yelp
Honestly if you are in Fort Lauderdale and in the mood for seafood, 100% head over to Coconuts/G&B Oyster Bar! They're right on the intracoastal water way so great views, they have a plentiful lot with $5 valet parking which for anyone familiar with A1A Ft. Lauderdale is a godsend while driving around trying to find somewhere to close enough to park where you're trying to go, so here you can just pull right up to the place easy. Wait staff and hostesses were all great, smiled always and were very friendly from moment you step inside. The best part is of course the food and menu! Seafood oriented but has plenty of options and for being on the beach extremely reasonably priced. Received high end food for a lot less than most, me and my finance had a great meal with a few drinks, left completely full and bill was under $100! Definitely recommend giving them a shot next time you're in town!
google avatar

Russell J.

Yelp
We had a great evening at G&B. It's looks to be the casual cousin to nextdoor Coconuts. Def a beach bar vibe, and as such, you seat yourself. We ordered Coconut Shrimp, Peel & Eat Shrimp, Conch Chowder, and Grilled Octopus. Everything was fresh and delicious, def worthy of Ft Lauderdale fish eatery!
google avatar

Jess H.

Yelp
The oysters were super fresh and very good. We also had the tuna poke which was also super delicious. The server was super friendly and helpful
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
I went to Coconuts and put my name in for seating. They recommended I come next door to G&B. I was happy. Mrs. K. and I were waiting for another couple to arrive, and she wanted a fruity drink, and I wanted oysters. For $20 I received one of their specials. Oysters with crab put under the broiler. While this did put a nice crust on the oysters it didn't "cook" the oysters. Great combination. The service here and at Coconuts was amazing. My wife was wanting to have her drink diluted. The bartender heard us and took care of us. Good job!
google avatar

Samantha I.

Yelp
Night out on the town! Friends and family Jambalaya was very good! Ribs were tender and meaty not a lot of sauce
google avatar

Jameson J.

Yelp
What a great seafood restaurant so many variety of items on the menu that will satisfy any pallet. I definitely recommend going here. I actually went here three days in a row. They have great drinks and fresh shuck oysters are always happening. Did I mention the menu was very expensive, I had oysters, I had the octopus, and I also tried the fish dip. All of their food is fresh and reminds me of Seafood pulled freshly off the boat and made in front of you. They also have a seafood tower appetizer. It's really something you should try with a party. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.
google avatar

Jillian L.

Yelp
The waitresses at G&B deserve a raise!! These women give the most incredible service, move so fast, and the food was incredible!

K-T S.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere - the place to be on any given night! We had drinks and a ton of food. Everything we ordered was great. The octopus was THE BEST we've ever had! The staff was great too - they share all services so we never went without.
google avatar

Lawry F.

Yelp
Nice views of the harbor. We sat on the deck. Service was attentive but didn't know the menu--in fact was wrong and I didn't find out until the food arrived. Food was good not great. The "scoobies" were interesting (crab claws soaked in butter) but once is enough for me--needed lots of bread to offset the grease. It seems to be mated with a bar that looks fun. We waited there and had a drink until table was ready. The place is very busy. I'll give it another try but it'll be awhile.

Victoria H.

Yelp
Just delicious wow everything was excellent me and my husband enjoyed every single plate service and view
google avatar

Jean T.

Yelp
I could've eaten there every single meal during the four days I was in New Orleans. The atmosphere was very fun a beat Happy. The oysters were over the top great. I had never had a grilled oyster and didn't think I would like it, but that's all I wanted after trying one. The best. Wish I was still there so I could have some.

Ben S.

Yelp
Gotta go for the Scoobies, which are a garlic-butter bomb of half-cracked crab claws:) And with the happy hour drinks, daily ceviche, a few oysters, and Coconut shrimp, we were super full! I would strongly recommend a reservation or expect to wait for a bit!!!
google avatar

Annie A.

Yelp
The place was super packed on a Monday night with a 90min wait. We ordered a bunch of things to try out. Crab empanadas were great. The creamy green sauce it comes with really makes it amazing. The lobster roll is one of the best I've ever had. Big chunks of lobster with just the right flavors and the bread that didn't fall apart. Oysters were good. Grilled oysters came with scampi sauce and loaded with crab. This was okay.
google avatar

Dana H.

Yelp
Red Lobster with a view - probably one of the bigger mismatches between average Yelp rating and experience. The food was hit or miss. On the plus side the raw bar was great, and the tuna poke bowl (plate?) tasty. I personally could have done without the slightly sweet sauce, and something other than premade tortilla chips would have been a nice accompaniment. From there it's downhill. I'm always suspicious of food that leaves the kitchen too fast (clearly not made to order), and the Scoobies were no exception. Way over cooked lobster claws in a spicy oily mess. The paella was the biggest mistake - even though it was hyped. Definitely not traditional with a crazy variety of proteins (shrimp, lobster, langoustine, chicken, mussels) all over cooked, with mushy rice (with zero socarrat) that had a faintly off putting taste. Definitely not worth $40. Overall the Monday/Tuesday 1/2 price bottles of wine with the raw bar are the only reasons to go. But don't expect much.

Yelp
I would've loved to of sat at the bar and had a cocktail, but right from the get-go the bartender was a very miserable female. There was one empty seat, and I had two other people with me, and I went to sit there to order a cocktail and she said if we weren't eating we could not stay there. I would've ate and I would've got cocktails, but she was not very friendly. So I got up and we left and we went around to the other side of the bar and there was about six people that left the bar so all three of us went to sit in a chair and she come around to the bar and Said, that she needed to clean this off and she was taking a chair away, proceeded to say, are you eating dinner and we said yes, and after she finished cleaning everything off, she was just a miserable person. We sat for a few minutes looked at the menu and we decided not to eat here when there's not a friendly bartender.. biotch...

K E R.

Yelp
Great raw bar with delicious food and a varied menu. Bustling but the service was great. You feel like you're right near the ocean because you are.

J H.

Yelp
The service was fantastic along with the food. We started with the Crawfish bread and an order of Scoobies. They were both exceptional. I would highly recommend both. I ordered the Crispy Oysters which were good but the breading was a little thick which took away from the oyster flavor. They were still tasty. My BF order the linguine and clams. The sauce was more buttery than clammy. The linguine was done to perfection. Both were delicious I would just have preferred a little more clam favor in the sauce. I would highly recommend this place and will come back when visiting Ft. Lauderdale.

Yelp
Love, love, love. They have the location, the ambiance, great service and even better food! This Be Nice concept is connected to Coconuts and they share their menus. G&B offers a laid back vibe as you sit near the bar and watch your oysters be shucked. I love everything about this place. Located on the water, just across the street from the beach, the views are astounding. While the G&B side does not offer outdoor seating, the entire spot is very open and it still feels like you are outdoors. They also have a live cam that allows you to watch the sunset. If there's a wait, you can hang out at the bar or walk down to the dock and enjoy the view. Once seated you are tended to by multiple servers in this portion of the restaurant. If you're a bit indecisive or like ordering at your own pace, this is amazing. Every time someone came back we added to our order, I'm sure they loved that. This also adds to the customer service aspect, you're never left waiting to ask for something and someone is always checking in. Genius! Finally, the food! They always offer a great variety of oysters. On our visit there were 5, a few of which we hadn't had tried so we just ordered them all. They were fresh and delicious. My favorites were the pemaquids, they're from Maine. We also snacked on the coconut shrimp and the scooby snacks. The coconut shrimp are perfectly breaded and crisp (not greasy at all) and they are accompanied by a tasty passion fruit sauce, yum! The scooby snacks are a staple at G&B and Coconuts. Blue crab claws tossed in roasted garlic and spices in a butter sauce. I'd lick the bowl if I was allowed. For a main dish we split the lobster club. With their thick cut, extra flavorful bacon and CHUNKS of lobster meat, there's no going wrong ordering this dish. Perfection. Yes, this was my choice for our Valentine's dinner, but guys, I can't say it enough, LOVE.

Mike L.

Yelp
Scooby's are outstanding. Order some while looking at the menu, you won't be disappointed. We ordered a variety of the oysters, all were tasty. The the lobster boil, great flavor but the lobster was over done. Tough to get temp right with the variety of items. Calamari was flavorful. Service was great! Friendly attentive staff. Worth the visit for sure. We will be back!

John M.

Yelp
It's ALL good, great service, great food, great selection, great venue, great location! Always consistent, our favorite neighborhood eateries!

Yelp
This place is always on top of the game! Side note: I almost want to hold back on my review, as it will become more crowded w tourist hell. (Then again, parents w children usually dine at the adjacent and related, Coconuts Restaurant). The bartenders are professional and sharp. Quick w the excellent suggestion as they know the food. Always always always great food options, along w a happy hour. Tonight I started w the Scoobies, which are partially shelled crab claws bathed in an olive oil and spice mixture. The claws pop out w ease. Bread comes with to soak up the excess olive oil. Haven't ordered my "entree" yet but most likely a doz oysters. Rolling solo at bar tonight as company meeting along w associated sales role-playing hereby over. While I love my colleagues, I really like my alone time, and what a great place to drink/dine alone. And may I add... NO MASKS THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Yelp
Hands down this is my favorite oyster bar!!!!!!!!!! I cannot find a place local to me that has the variety of oysters and the clean and yummines! I know not a word but it is!! The crab empanadas were good but wish had a little more flavor though packed with crab! The cilantro aioli on the side was great wish had more on the side. We had 3 servers taking care of us and the all were super attentive even though they were swamped! I highly highly recommend this place stop and go!!!

Yelp
In a seafood mood, so thought I'd try G&B! First, on this Monday, bottles of wine are 1/2 p Started with the Scoobies, which were several crab claws doused in a bowl of butter, garlic and scallions. They were yummy. Then, the server recommended the lobster rice. It was a great serving size. A great dish to fill you up! Last, I got raw oysters, but the last one I had was extremely tiny. Kinda disappointed that I paid for it. The ambiance had a market atmosphere. The chairs I sat in were high top and there was no privacy. Definitely not good for dates. The service was great, as the server had a nice personality. Not sure I'd go back, but the food was good.

John R.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The oysters were really good. Service was prompt. No waiting for dinner at 5:30. Very cool oyster bar vibe.

Yelp
ANYTHING you get on this menu is a 10/10. Hands down some of the BEST food I have had here in south Florida. The service was amazing. The ambiance gives outside bar. Very, chill, laid back place to dine. The food quality is not compromise. It was so delicious, we went two days in a row!!! This will be a staple every-time I'm in town!

Yelp
Every time we have gone it has always been delicious. We love the oysters and the service is fast. Worth the wait!
