"Open daily until 2:00am Gao’s Kabob is open every day until 1:30am and doesn’t really start getting busy until 9pm. Even on a random Monday, this BYOB Chinese BBQ spot is packed with people passing around six-packs while skewers of garlicky fried intestines and spicy grilled lamb land at each table. With all the activity (plus some music from Chinese variety TV shows) filling up the room, it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a boisterous hang any night of the week. "Despite its location on a quiet side street off Wentworth, this BYOB Chinese BBQ spot is one of the most exciting places to eat in the neighborhood. Even on a Monday, Gao’s Kabob starts getting busy around 8 or 9pm. As groups file in, the bright space echoes with chatter and music from Chinese variety TV shows. Bottles and six-packs make their rounds while skewers of garlicky fried intestines and spicy grilled lamb land at each table. This continues until they close, which is at 1:30am seven days a week. "Gao’s Kabob is located off Wentworth on a quiet side street, but this BYOB Chinese BBQ spot is one of the most exciting places to eat in Chinatown. Even on a Monday, it starts getting busy around 8 or 9pm. That’s when groups file in and chatter and music from Chinese variety TV shows fill the bright narrow space. Bottles and six-packs circulate while skewers of garlicky fried intestines and spicy grilled lamb land at each table. This continues until close (1:30am every day). Gao’s Kabob works best as a late-night group hang, so if you want to eat their well-seasoned skewers in relative peace, plan an earlier visit. " - John Ringor

"Devour lamb, beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and veggie kebabs from this Chinese barbecue joint. Most are priced at just a few bucks so sampling an assortment of skewers won’t break the bank. Order pickup here; delivery is available through third party services." - Jeffy Mai

Some of these negative reviews are strange at best. The only critique of the place is the price. No problem communicating with staff at all and a language barrier means nothing since you order on your phone. The staff were pleasant the whole time and refilled my water immediately. The kabobs were extremely flavorful with a variety to choose from. This might be the only place open past midnight in Chinatown.

Authentic Chinese BBQ. Great flavor and concept. It's a little like a buffet where they bring the items you order on the website to you as you order them, so each item is piping hot! Fun, flavorful, and a lot faster than I expected. 10/10

this time I experienced something terrible. As usual, I ordered some barbecue on the Internet and came here for a few minutes. They called me to tell me if something was gone and I could replace it with another one. I said yes, but I saw that the thing they changed was cheaper than the one I ordered. I thought they would give me more quantity or refund the price difference? At worst, consumers should be informed whether things can be exchanged if they are lower than the original price. Maybe they think that consumers generally don't look at the list. This doesn't make me think they are 0 stars, but what I get is cold and good. It doesn't matter. Maybe the takeaway is like this. Then I ordered the chicken skeleton! Since they mixed their necks in it. It's disgusting. If you can give me 0 stars, I will. Maybe they don't care about writing comments at all. Stay away from here

The BBQ restaurant you may want to go for only once. The eggplant and fried rice were exceptional! However, the rest of the skewer was only okay. You can tell the sauce they used remain the same no matter what skewer you ordered. The juice inside of the meat was evaporated. It's not perfect, It's not worth to go there for a second time. But once for a while you will miss that taste.

Should’ve put sign: “NO ENGLISH” at the door. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you don’t speak their language, forget it. We didn’t feel welcomed at all. The food is not bad actually. Just SOOO MUCHHH OILLL feels like someone make soup of oil in our kimchi fried rice, we needed to drain the oil from rice with paper napkins. I understand the concept maybe like neighborhood byob, but the servers or not even sure if they are server since they only run food and we do all order online. Needed to get our own water to be refill, there is only one tray with the same paper for ALL food and styrofoam plate. They don’t change plates nor clean nor refill water. DUDE PUTTING FRESH FOOD ON TOP OF LEFTOVERS SKEWERS AS WELL, NASTY!!!🤮 also so hard to get parking, we walked one block away in cold.

If I had a choice to eat at a different kabob place, I would never eat here. Foods are so expensive and tasteless. The lamb is not succulent nor tender. It was hard and salty. The oysters are not so fresh, idk why…
