"This new restaurant on Metairie Road in the old Garden Gates Home and Garden store has style to spare. Garrison Kitchen includes five outdoor dining gazebos, a garden for strolling, and a century-old cottage with its bar and progression of cozy dining rooms. Chef John Sinclair incorporates the garden’s fresh vegetables and herbs into dishes like tuna niçoise, roasted pork belly, beef kebabs, meatballs with herb salad, shrimp toast, and a pork cutlet sandwich. Pastry chef Jillian Duran rocks desserts like Black Forest profiteroles." - Beth D'Addono

we were looking for a special place to enjoy Mother’s day and online reviews recommended Garrison so we made a reservation. We arrived a bit early and the restaurant was a bit confused as to the number of people in our reservation. they started the poor customer service which continued throughout the time. overall customer service and timing was poor but food quality and taste was good. we got seated and ordered the cheese and bread as a starter. The bread was really good while the cheese was alright. We then ordered the pancakes, the veggie omelette, the shrimp omelette, brussels sprouts, side potatoes, and a side of toast and biscuit. The brussels sprouts were really good while the potatoes were decent. The veggie omelette was good while the shrimp omelette had really small shrimps. the biscuit tasted frozen and the pancakes were good but were small and more Japanese-style. overall, the food had good flavor but the portion size was a bit small and the customer service was not good

Don’t let the fancy exterior intimidate you! Inside, you’ll find a wonderful blend of chic meets cozy in this family friendly establishment serving up jazzed up versions of your favorite comfort foods. The hearty serving of French fries will leave you licking your fingers. Outdoor seating is available under their quaint and picturesque gazebos. Delicious!

Such a cute little spot for brunch or a night out! The food and cocktails/mocktails are delicious. I got the chocolate mousse for dessert after brunch the other day, and it looked as good as it tasted.

We LOVED being at the chefs table. We shared a ceasar salad...it was HUGE, even as shared. The pasta bolegnase was delicious and so was the strip steak. I wasnt too much for the shrimp toast even though it was beautifully cooked. The mashed potatoes were terrible, tasted like they were made with skim milk and butter. I loved the experience of the chefs table...but the restaurant in general is very over priced.

My party of 3 had reservations on a Saturday evening. I was shocked to see that there was valet parking. It was backed up and created sort of a traffic jam. Personally, I don’t think valet is needed here. The parking lot is large so just let people park and things will flow a lot smoother. Once seated, the server quickly brought us water but we didn’t see him again for 20 - 30 minutes. I must say that I expected a better cocktail list for a restaurant with the word Cocktails in it. Once we finally placed our order, it took a while to get our food. The chicken sandwich was decent and had some nice flavors. The Brussel sprouts were overcooked and hard to chew. One of the guests had a very long hair in her Brussel sprouts. The scallops and bolognese were both meh. The accompaniments with the scallops were weird and the dish didn’t mesh well. After we finished eating, we asked the server for the check and it took another 30 minutes for us to get it. Overall, the service was disappointing and we all agreed that we wouldn’t want to return here.

Vibes are 100. While this restaurant is located in Metairie, the interior of the restaurant makes you feel as you are in midcity or uptown. Due to our large group, we were limited to a preset menu. The staff did their best to make our group feel special for celebrations. We were not aware that we were going to be charged for the desserts as we assumed it was on the preset menu. I look forward to return to restaurant during the fall and enjoying their outdoor gazebos

Dined there last week- chicken cutlet sandwich has got to be the best I have ever had. They set the bar for flavor and presentation high. The thick cut fries with the garlic dipping sauce will have you thinking about them for the next few weeks 🤤. Captivating ambiance- perfect for a girls night or date night. They also have a super cool outdoor area if you want to go somewhere and have the kiddos run around while you watch a game and enjoy yourself at the same time- definitely a jewel on Metairie road-This spot is a must try!
