"There’s no shortage of filled brioche doughnuts around town but who are we to complain? This mini chain with three locations from Renee Erickson gets everything right: The dough is airy and not too chewy, the ratio of filling to dough is just right, and the fillings, which rotate frequently, aren’t overpowering or over-sweet." - Mark Van Streefkerk, Harry Cheadle

"The old fashioned cake donuts at Top Pot are good enough, but so are the ones at QFC. Instead, you need to know about the filled brioche beauties at General Porpoise. Aesthetically, this coffee shop that sources beans from Oregon to Arkansas, is the setting of a TikTok waiting to happen: blue striped paper straws, a big marble bar, the plump donuts mentioned before (get one of each filling like vanilla custard and lemon curd), and great lattes with symmetrical froth art." - Aimee Rizzo, Kayla Sager Riley

"But some of us don’t have the patience to wait for hours just to eat raised brioche. That’s where General Porpoise comes in. The donuts at this coffee shop are much more readily available, but convenience is not their only selling point. The vanilla custard is so rich that it could stand in for crème brûlée filling, and there are often seasonal variations that we look forward to, like peppermint bark in December or summer fruit jam when the thermostat turns up. Grab some for the office before work and be hailed as a hero with impeccable taste." - Aimee Rizzo, Kayla Sager Riley

"The worst part about freelancing is making a plan to dive into a massive to-do list the same day that the sun decides to dive into its own to-do list, which consists of “shine today.” General Porpoise is where to spend the day inside without missing out on the sun. Massive windows let an insane amount of light into the cut space, their coffee is sourced from places other than Seattle (which is a nice change of pace), and most importantly, the homemade filled doughnuts are excellent (get the lemon curd). Just know that General Porpoise closes at 3pm, so get there early." - aimee rizzo

Tasty donuts with a side of delicious latte :) I usually get the chocolate marshmallow one, but their limited tiramisu donuts just come back and I'm in love! Their baristas are friendly and make good drinks. They also have multiple outlets in case you need to charge your electronics while relaxing! Definitely recommend!

SerpAPI
Super cute coffee shop. A friend recommend General Porpoise, who said they have the best coffee and donuts. It’s a little tucked away in Capitol Hill, but easy to find parking. The aesthetic is like a cool garage coffee shop. Their donuts are amazing! It sort of tastes like a custard malasada, if anyone from Hawaii is reading this. Their coffee leaves a little to be desired as they have very limited flavors, like five different kinds. I wish they had more. Overall 7/10, would visit again. :)

There is nothing not to love about their doughnuts! Since moving north, it’s always a treat when I’m in Seattle. My personal favorites are the lemon curd and chocolate marshmallow. They have seasonal flavors too. It can get super busy, especially on weekend mornings and afternoons. Service has always been friendly and efficient.

Coffee is delish! I was pleasantly surprised to see they had brioche donuts. I think that's what they are called 😁 So freaking yummy! Highly recommend the vanilla custard or the mixed berry jam flavor :)

I actually loved the texture of the doughnuts, they're really light and not cakey at all! However, the flavor wasn't really as sweet as I had anticipated. I love custard filled doughnuts but I found these to actually taste more bitter than sweet (which may be more appealing to other pallets-- my personal preference is for sweet). I did find if I had a sip of my coffee ( which was very bitter) before biting into one, that changed the flavor dynamic to appear sweeter than eating the doughnuts alone. I did try three different kinds (note they are pretty pricy at $5 each) and I really enjoyed the lemon. In fact, the fillings in all of them were great, the texture was also great but the flavors in the dough just didn't appeal to me. It felt like it distracted from the fillings themselves. The store itself is really nice and has indoor seating open to patrons with fast and friendly service. Again, my review is more about personal preference, so if you prefer a sweeter treat, these may not appeal to you. But if you like a more subtle sweet, I'd say give it a go at least once

Avocado Black

SerpAPI
The dough is subtly sweet, and the yeast dough feels so homie and nice. This is not your typical overly sweetened donut. Filling is true and authentic to their name. I tried a seasonal butterscotch flavor, it’s light and robust at the same time. So good that it’s beyond words!

SerpAPI
Tried each of the daily doughnuts and all were great! Although I usually prefer chocolate filling, the Vanilla Custard one was my favorite. Wish I tried one of their seasonal ones but there weren’t many available. I went Around 11:30am on a Saturday so not sure of the lack of variety was typical for the time of day or week. Although I enjoyed the doughnuts, I was iffy on the price. However, each doughnut was pillowy and nice and fresh so maybe it was worth it. Will go again!

SerpAPI
Doughnuts are light and fluffy with a little bit of chew and a slight sour taste from the fermentation. Vanilla are my favorite, lemon flavor was a bit too acidic. Overall absolutely delicious. This place is a Must Try!

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Love their donut. Has the right texture and sweetness put together. Apart from the need of ordering online early in the day to secure your order, everything else is great. The staff is always welcoming and warm. I also love their matcha latte.

Gina T.

Yelp
Review is for doughnuts only. 3.5 rounding up to 4 stars I tried lemon curd and chocolate marshmallow. Pro: no line and there were a few doughnuts available when I arrived around noon. The dough for the filled brioche doughnuts is pretty good. Con: the fillings were a bit too sweet for me.

Julie D.

Yelp
I love a good malasada, and I was really excited to try General Porpoise because their donuts look so fluffy and yummy. I've been here a few times now, and while I still love the crunch of the sugar coating and the flavorful fillings, everything always tastes weirdly stale. Like they baked the donuts the night before and then just left them sitting out all night. It's only a faint flavor of staleness, but enough to make one question. I had a lobster mushroom quiche here once, and while it was also weirdly stale tasting, it was still pretty good. I think if things tasted more fresh this place would easily knock other donut shops out of the park.

Michelle X.

Yelp
High ceilings, two-tiered clean space to grab a coffee and chat or do work. I tried the classic vanilla custard doughnut, a brioche/malasada-esque dough. There was a heavier salt note than I anticipated but I enjoyed the salty-seeet. Wish there was more cream and I thought $6 is wild to pay for one doughnut.

Elaine W.

Yelp
Really great filled donuts! I'm not usually a fan of filled donuts because they're usually way too sweet, but I ordered the strawberry/rhubarb one a couple weeks ago and loved it. Would definitely come back :)

Anita L.

Yelp
Whenever I see a malasada, I gotta try it. There were some unique flavors that really caught my attention such as the huckleberry one, the strawberry rhubarb was tasty, and it was light and fluffy. Come check them out!

Yelp
This spot was on my list on a recent trip to Seattle. We walked here from our hotel and got here first thing in the morning. A staff member was setting everything up for the morning and he was so nice. It was hard to pick a flavor but being a lemon lover, I knew I had to try the lemon curd. The curd was tart which I liked because it contrasted with the sweet doughnut. It was a nice pairing. The coffee I ordered was the lavender latte. I've tried many a lavender latte and this one was so nice and not too heavy on the floral notes. The cute area upstairs has seating options so we sat and enjoyed our doughnuts and coffee. So glad we came here!

Kelsey G.

Yelp
Perfect study spot! The music and chatter levels were perfect for productivity. There was a nice loft area, which was isolated enough to get work done but also busy for the ~coffee shop work sesh~ vibe. The aesthetic feels elevated and clean, while not overly minimalist or sterilized. As people came and went, nobody seemed to have any trouble getting seating on a Sunday. Some seats had outlets too, so you can snag one of those if you need it. Maple lattes are my favorite, and they did it well! The donut too was light and fluffy (although a tad pricey). Both weren't too sweet and had a bit of salt that brought the taste together.

Yadi G.

Yelp
Walked in around 930am and there seemed to only be 3 flavors of donuts left. I picked the chocolate marshmallow and decided on a cortado, to go. Service was quick, barista and donut person were courteous enough, no issues at all with service. To the point especially with the shop being quiet with only a couple of fellow Donut fans. Donut was delicious! The filling was OK, think I'm just not much of a filling person BUT I enjoyed it. Donut itself was fluffy and soft, not very sweet and held the filling just right. Hopefully I can try the churro one next time, cinnamon is more my speed.

Steven Z.

Yelp
Updating to 5 stars based solely on coffee. I'm a big coffee enthusiast (make pourovers and espresso drinks at home) and find myself coming back here a lot! General Porpoise always has a variety of 2-3 quality beans on the pourover, ranging from medium to light roast. They use a Kalita wave setup. The drinks are served in a Kalita carafe -- an upgrade from before when they used to brew directly into the cup itself. It generally costs around $6-7.5. The baristas are friendly and happy to walk you through the different beans as well :)

Pratima M.

Yelp
An adorable cafe serving up DELICIOUS donuts, nestled right in the heart of Cap Hill -- they have a bright, airy aesthetic space with a few tables and seats. They have a drink fridge filled with different bevvies, and I could totally see myself coming here rather than any other coffee shop in the area.Their branding is so cute, too. I stopped in for a donut to-go and literally loved it. I got the Vanilla Creme and everything about this donut was perfection -- it was light and airy, the filling was delicious, it was satisfying without feeling heavy. The price tag was a bit steep BUT I would definitely treat myself on occasion -- I've already got my eye on the berries and cream.

Yelp
On a recent visit to the Amazon Spheres, I tried General Porpoise for the first time. The General Porpoise in the Spheres is more like a kiosk with a barista, catering to the Amazon employees who work there. The kiosk offers a much smaller selection than their full-scale shops do, but the Spheres location still carries some of the signature flavors. On the day that I went, around 2 PM, they only had three flavors left: strawberry, vanilla custard, and s'mores. I ordered the strawberry donut, and it was one of the best cream-filled donuts I've ever tasted. The donut itself was light and fluffy, with a subtle coating of granulated sugar. The cream filling was whipped and airy, with a fresh and natural strawberry flavor. Overall, the donut didn't feel heavy or greasy, and one donut satisfied my sweet tooth. I really enjoyed my experience at General Porpoise, and I would love to visit one of their brick and mortar locations to try some of their other flavors.

Lizzie R.

Yelp
Pricey but delicious! (Would have been 5 stars if they were cheaper). 4 of us shared these donuts and they were worth it. They were light, fluffy and filled perfectly. The outside was rolled in sugar. There isn't a large selection of flavors but it isn't needed. My favorite was definitely the Nutella while my husband favored the Strawberry Rhubarb and my daughter liked the vanilla. The store is super cute but doesn't have a lot of seating. The staff seemed friendly though we had minimal interaction. I don't know if I would get a dozen of these - because of the cost, but if I did, I'm sure they would get eaten. They're not very filling so if you're hoping for a good breakfast, definitely get more than one. If I was local, I would probably only come here as a treat because of the price. But because I'm on vacation, maybe I'll go back before I leave.

Teresa Z.

Yelp
These donuts are just okay. This is a centrally located donut spot in capitol hill and staff are friendly and the space is nice. I just don't think these donuts are worth 5.50 each. I liked how the donut dough itself was not sweet but I wasn't getting the light fluffy flavor I was expecting/craving from these types of donuts. Ordered lemon curd, chocolate marshmallow and straw berry jam. The lemon curd was the best (not too sweet). The chocolate one had a great texture and the strawberry jam was very mediocre. Nothing was special about these donuts, unfortunately and I was definitely missing the great bite with airiness and some chew from a brioche donut. When I first had donuts from the flour box, I didn't think it was super special, but after tasting these donuts, I think the difference is honestly night and day.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I like the vibe and donut selection. The upper loft is quite cozy when it's not busy (and it isn't in the morning). The filling flavors are delicious and I don't have a particular favorite. The donut itself is a bit on the stale end. Overall, the donuts are ok but not what I'd go out of my way for. I think General Porpoise has a long history in Seattle, which is why it is known and loved by many. But I couldn't see anything special about their donuts that would make me prefer this over Doce, Top Pot, or any other place.

Teresa C.

Yelp
They done it again! These addictive gems are simply too good to be true. The dough in itself is simply sublime with plenty of flavour and the perfect texture. It really does stands up on its own. No wonder why the simple sugar coated donuts are always sold out. We got the vanilla custard, churro cream (must try) and the lemon curd fillings. All had fantastic consistency and balanced flavour. The only thing is that it felt less plump (less filling) than we recall in the past at other locations we went to. We will probably skip this location in the future and go back to our usual spot.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Cute little spot with little visible seating. Tasty donuts but be warned... they are on the pricey side and total cost will add up if you get a beverage as well. The shop was pretty quiet on a Sunday morning (compared to most other donut shops) so the service was quick. Lattes were very good.

Susanna D.

Yelp
The vanilla custard was scrumptious. The chai latte was not great. Ended up just tossing it. My friend loved the pour over. Staff was very personable and efficient.

Soumya A.

Yelp
This place is supposed to have some of the best donuts in Seattle, but I'm not too sure I was impressed. It might've been the high expectations, but I was underwhelmed. We got two of their speciality donuts and some coffee. The donut filling seemed very thick and it was just lodged in the center. I wouldn't say they're the best donuts in Seattle, but I'd be willing to come here again and give it another try.

Aida R.

Yelp
Dropped by this spot for a little treat before starting my workday, and I had a choice between 3 daily flavors (vanilla custard, chocolate marshmallow, lemon curd) and 2 seasonal ones (plum jam, black sesame). I grabbed a black sesame donut to-go. The brioche itself had an almost savory taste to it, which was well-complimented by its sugar coating. The filling had the feel of a whipped cream as opposed to a custard. While I enjoyed the light and fluffy texture of the donut as a whole, I think the flavor payoff fell short. I could feel the many black sesame seeds that dotted the cream filling, but the nuttiness that I love about them just didn't come through. I expected a greater "wow factor" for a $5 donut of this size. But it was a pretty average experience. Maybe I would've had better luck with another filling.

Cassandra C.

Yelp
BEST DONUT IN THE WORLD. Worth a 3h drive from Portland. Fun seasonal flavors, amazing texture. This location has a cozy little sitting loft.

Susie C.

Yelp
I've been curious about this spot after some people called a very hype donut shop just a fancier General Porpoise with better flavors. I was hoping that General Porpoise could become my quick donut stop if I was really craving one. However from my experience, the donuts can't even be considered the same food item. I took one bite out of my strawberry donut here and then threw it away. As someone who hates to waste food, this really shook me. Already from the case, the donuts look deflated, uneven, and just plain sad. I still thought that maybe they tasted better than they looked. I was WRONG. They were even worse than they looked somehow... The donuts were not fluffy and really felt as deflated as they looked. The sugar coating wasn't even on the donuts since they felt over-fried with too much oil. All I could really taste from the dough was oil. The filling was probably the only redeemable thing about the donut. I can tell GP uses high level ingredients for their jam, as they have fruit chunks and tastes like real fruit. However, I personally don't eat a donut just for the filling. I have no plans to ever come back, and I hope no one ever brings me a donut from here. I will not eat it. Please don't make me waste food again.

Bonnie D.

Yelp
These are my favorite donuts in the city and I've had them all! They are super pricey for donuts but they are so fresh and FILLED with delicious cream. The lemon curd is a bit too eggy for me, and some of the Jams can be overwhelming (rarely find myself thinking a donut needs less filling but sometimes I wish there was less with a few of the jams). But I'm never disappointed I stopped in for a donut. They have a quite little seating area too, and just discovered that they do kid-friendly latte art on the hot chocolate! Oliver says 10/10!

Ray I.

Yelp
Home of the $5 donut. They are delicious, be not confused on that. Light, fluffy brioche clouds filled with small batch fillings. Lemon curd Bavarian cream Chocolate marshmallow And A wide variety of fruit jams They are all delicious, this isn't a go to spot for a mixed dozen to satisfy a crowd, between the price point and the fact that they only Bismark style pastries.

Paulina H.

Yelp
Parked in front of this place, and remembered I bookmarked this donut place. So we went and try it since we really needed coffee! They did not have too much donut favors but I feel like they are making the best donuts so far, out of all the places I went to. I got the lemon curd one; I really love it but it's too sour and tart for me so I gave it to my fiancé and I got his berry ones. We both like the berry ones but lemon one is also good just too sour for me. They also have coffee, we got matcha latte and americano. I love that they make my matcha latte non sweet, Starbucks won't let me do that. Didn't try the coffee but seems very hot and it's good for winter.

Michael U.

Yelp
Whether the blow hole emitting a bit of Filling atop each of Renee Erickson's Doughnuts is intentional or simply a result of overfilling is anybody's guess, but regardless General Porpoise has expanded from Capitol Hill to three locations on the strength of just five or six daily Pastries plus Coffees from a variety of Roasters. Advertising fresh Eggs plus housemade Jams, Curds and Creams in every Brioche pocket, think Berliners or Malasadas complete with Granulated Sugar, customers can expect to spend $5.50 each for seasonal flavors served amidst stark décor with hints of blue, brown and brass. Well-branded, though not enough to last past six months in Los Angeles, it is along the window or upstairs that guests may choose to indulge, Cold Brew assertive but smooth without a lot of acidity well-suited to classic Lemon Curd a little sweeter than most. Nonchalant in terms of service, though the recent addition of Quiche, Sandwiches and Wine may see that change, more sophisticated flavor comes from Quince Jam with a bit of texture while the best bite of November came from delicate Maple Cream inside a springy crumb and crowned by a small Cookie.

Jenny L.

Yelp
My friends and I came to this shop on a whim because the orginal donut shop we wanted to go to was closed on the Monday. We got: vanilla custard, lemon custard, and chocolate hazelnut. The donuts were good! The cafe is pretty small with limited seatings but it's a good place to grab a quick drink and snack.

Sindu K.

Yelp
OMG these the best donuts I never had in my life. Yes, they are not expensive than a other donuts but these are totally worth it. They open up quite early at 7, and close at 3, but they kind of almost run out of donuts at around 2. They have about 3/4 everyday flavors and 2/3 seasonal flavors. Love their vanilla custard a lot. They had a seasonal tiramisu flavor once, which was amazing. I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

Kelsee J.

Yelp
I loved the donuts. Sweetness was perfect, I tried one of everything. My favorite was the blackberry cream and vanilla. Delicious coffee as well.

Diane T.

Yelp
We tried the Vanilla Custard, Lemon, and Blueberry jam. All of them are really good. Lemon was my fav but I prefer a little sour. $5 for each donut, I do think they are a little small for the price which is why I knocked off a star. I prefer this place over Flour Box. The flavors here may not be as 'exciting' as flour box had, but I prefer that's it not as deep into Seattle (we come from Everett), there's no 2 hour line, there were PLENTY of donuts for everyone, and they offer pre-order! Also 3 locations depending on which one is closer for you. I will def come here again over Flour Box.

Maia S.

Yelp
came here in the morning to pick up some donuts for my moms birthday! she doesn't really like overly sweet things and these were perfect. i only got the custard ones but they were super good and the breading was fluffy. there was a lot of filling inside which i really appreciated. parking was a little weird since it's located in an awkward part of the street so i had to park in the safeway next door. i'll definitely be back!

Vitta P.

Yelp
you guys (crying face) These donuts will be the best donuts you will ever try in your life. Literally no donut that I have ever tried compare to General Porpoise. I have been going for years and I can tell you that the consistency, taste, and quality year after year has not changed. I also love that this bakery's sole purpose is there donuts which means they have perfected them and made them to be the best of the best. Vanilla Custard: In my opinion the best one at this shop. The perfect vanilla custard consistency in the middle and the fresh made dough all go together in perfect harmony. Advice: They close at 3pm and sell out quite often. So I advise to go earlier to make sure you get some of these donuts. They are worth it. The service is quick and easy so you don't really spend much time here. Also the atmosphere inside is so calming and peaceful.

Alvin L.

Yelp
Never a bad morning when you can have general porpoise with a cup of coffee! Most flavors are rotating / seasonal but some are standard such as the vanilla custard cream (one of my favorites). The donut is soft, spongy, lightly dusted with powdered sugar and filled with delicious goodness. After eating one I always have cravings for seconds. Expect to pay $5 / Donut but they are so good! Great service too! I requested for curb side pickup as I was traveling downtown with two toddlers and when I gave them a call my donuts came right out.

Miss Y.

Yelp
do not waste money or time going to any of their locations. the most overpriced donuts, yet they can never fill the cream properly!!! such a waste of money for mediocre donuts that basically doesn't have any flavor due to lack of care in how they make their product

Rasika T.

Yelp
TL;DR - The donuts are a must-have, but don't forget to mention that the order is "for here" if you plan to sit there Loved the chocolate marshmallow donut. It was very light and not cakey like usual donuts. Didn't like the lemon custard one so much, but that comes down to preference. The shop has a good seating area, but the only thing I was bummed about was that I wasn't asked if I wanted the order to go or for here. I didn't want it to go, but the person gave me the donuts in the paper bag and my coffee in a to go cup. As it was my first time, I didn't know they gave plates and mugs for the "for here" orders so I didn't say anything initially but it was just weird that they assumed it without asking me and everyone else around me was sitting with plates and mugs.

Jason P.

Yelp
Wow. What a treasure this is. I came on a Saturday, and it was busy, but not a long line. Fresh delicious donuts. It's not like Dunkin' Donuts. Though the selection is limited (a half-dozen or so options), what they have is fresh and full of flavor. When I think of jelly filled donuts, I tend to think of stale donuts with neon-red insides made of all sugar. This is NOT the place to get that kind of donuts. The flavors are original and familiar. There was a tiramisu filled donut that was spot on in the flavor profile. I was impressed at the brewed coffee. The quality was top notch to go with a top notch donut. This is a place you will want to come back to again and again.

Christy L.

Yelp
I really dig the brand and their vibes but the food and drinks just didn't hit right. Doughnuts were awfully dry and not very moist or fluffy. Very dough-y perhaps. And this might just be a personal preference because not everyone likes an overload of filling in their doughnuts but it felt like there wasn't even much at all. It felt underfilled and that left me disappointed. As for my iced chai, it was very milky and lacking flavor. Maybe it wasn't very well mixed explaining why it was kind of "grainy" but overall just very bland. Again, love the quiant interior but I wouldn't come back just for that.

Kimberly R.

Yelp
A cute small shop, with a few seating. Donuts had a nice fluff with a perfect amount of filling. The chai latte was a bit on the spicier side than what I'm used to.

Lynsey B.

Yelp
Addicted! Best donut and coffee in Cap Hill. This place is amazing! I have tried the chocolate marshmallow and the coconut cream and both were so delicious! I love the box and how simple the space is! Will definitely be a regular customer.

Danielle R.

Yelp
I'll start with the fact that I'm not normally a donut person, so when I find one that is good, it says a lot! I tried the vanilla custard donut. The actual donut was very soft and flaky and the vanilla custard was perfect, very balanced and not overly sweetened. I truly was left wishing I could have another bite! That being said, $5 for a donut is quite a hefty price, so be aware before going!

Rachel K.

Yelp
Taste: 5/5 Value: 2/5 Ambience: 5/5 I pass by this place walking my dog every day and I've always wanted to try it. We popped in the other morning and were lucky enough to beat the rush. The inside of the shop is super cute and airy with a nice seating area up a couple stairs. We decided to try four different donuts: the Huckleberry Cream (soooo good, this one was my favorite), the Berry Jam, Vanilla Custard, and Chocolate Marshmallow. All of them were delicious. I loved the dough, it was pretty light and not too sugary which is definitely preferable. I've seen some reviews about the lack of filling, but to be honest I actually liked the amount. I feel like a lot of donuts I've had are overflowing with this overpoweringly sugary filling that I end up having to wipe off on a napkin, so this was actually the perfect balance. My only gripe was how ridiculously expensive these are. It's five bucks PER DONUT. With four donuts, a small coffee, and a juice from the fridge, it ended up being close to 30 bucks. The donuts are also relatively small so it's super overpriced. I think I would only come back here for special occasions just because of the price . . . which is probably the best for my health because if they were reasonably priced, I'd be here everyday lol.

Keizzel C.

Yelp
I usually don't get filled donuts, but had to come check out General Porpoise from a friend's recommendation. They have a couple locations that you can come in to visit, but we ended up ordering ahead for a pick up time at the Capitol Hill location so we could walk around afterwards. The shop is small but has a super cute interior that is clean looking. We ended up getting a box of the chocolate marshmallow, vanilla custard, and coconut. Pickup is super easy at the time requested. Donuts come close to $4 a donut so not the cheapest but seems on par with artisan donuts. You pick up indoors and you can eat outside at their bench or if you're a group less than 3 you can sit at their now open indoor tables. The donuts have a nice crunch on the outdoor exterior and the filling is sweet but not too sweet which I enjoyed. The donuts have a light sugar coating but so surprised at how mellow the sweetness was. That's always my fear when getting stuffed donuts that the amount of sugar would overpower the donut itself. All three flavors were unique, had a great filling texture, and tasty. I would come back again to try any seasonal flavors!

Taryn N.

Yelp
Made a birthday visit to General Porpoise for the first time to give them a go and we did a pack of all 5 doughnuts to go. 2 doughnuts are a seasonal flavor that rotate monthly. Vanilla - good taste, very underfilled. Tiramisu (seasonal) - the filling had a very, very strong coffee taste and it wasn't a smooth filling. This was the least sweet filling and the sugar on the outside of the doughnut wasn't enough to balance the lack of sweetness in the filling. This was my least favorite as the filling really wasn't very pleasant. Italian Plum Jam (seasonal) - a tart jam filling. I liked the jam, but this particular doughnut had a bit of doughiness to it. Chocolate Marshmallow - this was filled the most and the filling was very runny and actually dripped out of the doughnut. I didn't get any marshmallow flavor. Lemon - I love lemon desserts. The lemon filling in this doughnut was very, very tart. For me, I think the tartness overpowered the doughnut a bit. Based on the doughnuts, I likely wouldn't head back to GP for doughnuts in the future. The ratio of filling to doughnut is pretty varied and the flavor balances are off.

Yelp
Delicious and flavorful doughnuts! The lemon curd was one of the most strong lemon filled doughnuts I've ever had! Love that they give plenty of filling. The iced honey lavender latte was delicious as well.

Yelp
While everyone is chatting in the café, the barista's laughter is a bit distracting. Maybe toning it down a bit could create a more comfortable atmosphere for customers.

Yelp
Walked by this shop one day and the donuts caught my eye. The best donuts in my humble opinion are those that are light, fluffy, and filled with custard like filling. These did not disappoint. I ate mine so fast! The interior is super cute and has a bright aesthetic. My iced matcha was good, a balanced sweetness. Coming back for more donuts and to try the CBD seltzers. Oh! They also had some good house tunes playing.

Yelp
Placing an order here for pick up is super easy and convenient. You can navigate to their website from their instagram or a google search. They have curbside pick up if you do not want to get out of your car because of social distancing or you have the option to wait to go into the shop, 3 at a time. They rotate speciality flavors every so often so if you are looking for a certain specialty flavor it is best to check their site before heading over or even better place your order before you go. If you are ordering later in the day, they also may run out of certain flavors which is something to be aware of. It was the end of the year when we placed an order for pick up and I was able to snag the eggnog, vanilla custard, raspberry jelly and lemon curd. Each had a very distinct filling and looked like a fluffy delicate pillow of dough. The doughnut was light, airy and a little salty. The amount of salt was more than I personally preferred which threw me off in my first bite but was something you just get used to. If you have a sweet tooth or enjoy eating doughnuts in general, I think you will really like this. The one thing you will definitely notice is they are little on the pricey side. $4 per donut gets up there if you are wanting to try one of each flavor (which you definitely should). In my opinion, they are worth the price for the quality you get.

Yelp
Decent donuts and was easily able to find streetparking on 9am on a Sunday. Tried the strawberry, vanilla, marshmellow, and lemon curd flavors. Personally didn't like the lemon curd but it wasn't terrible. I'm new to drinking Chai, but I really liked this Chai Latte. Overall if you're craving donuts, this isn't a bad place. It is pricey for ~$5-$6 donuts.

Yelp
What a soft, light and fluffy selection of donuts! Filled with delicious, creamy fillings that ooze out of the yummy pillow goodness, lightly powdered with sugar. I'm a big chocolate lover and I was surprised to find myself loving the OG Vanilla Custard filling the most - the filling is sweet and a tad salty, always a great combination of flavors in my tongue. For the Chocolate Marshmallow, the chocolate is light but it isn't a flat chocolate flavor, you can taste the marshmallow mixed together in every bite. The Lemon Curd is very tangy, like a fresh lemon juice with a hint of cream. Overall, I really enjoy their donuts that I've tried. All of them have a perfect creamy filling that's not too thick or too runny, and I love that none of them are too sweet.. combined with the perfect texture of the pillow donut itself, you'll find yourself savoring each bite. It runs a little pricier than other donuts at $4 each but you're paying for quality here. They have seasonal flavors too that they rotate. They currently have Tahini Cream and Quince Jam available. They tend to run out of donuts very quickly early in the day and sometimes as early as a couple of hours after they open. I recommend going on their website to check the availability of the flavors that you want first and pre-order to "reserve" them and pick up later. Employees are friendly and very quick to get all orders ready. Also, I really love the decors of this place, it's minimalist, very warm and welcoming. As with Capitol Hill neighborhood, it's a street parking and it can be limited. They do have a couple of loading-zone parking spots right in front of the shop and they also do a curbside pickup if you don't want to wait to enter the premise (limited to 8 people inside during this pandemic).

Yelp
Yummy, but definitely a lot of hype here! I did a mobile order to avoid long lines, waits, parking, etc. My husband and I tried their vanilla doughnut and the seasonal maple donut. The vanilla was good, but the flavor was very minimal. The maple donut was much better when you compare the two. It reminded us of a maple bar. We did notice that there wasn't much filling in either donuts and they were a bit more dense than we were expecting. If you are in the area, stop by and try it for yourself! But don't drive out of your way to stop in honestly.
