Genwa Korean BBQ (Mid Wilshire)

One of my favorites....excellent food and customer service. The let you sample and bring to your table lots of small dishes and you can get refills......Meat quality is very good, and the service is impeccable. Complementary parking in the structure or you can park on the street near Coffee Bean. I highly recommend.

I'm going to give 10 reasons to come here. 1. Non smoky non stinky clothes. Amazing vent system for Korean BBQ so you can walk away without the smell that is embedded in every inch of your clothes, hair, and the black lining inside of your finger nails. 2. The most number of side dishes, with unlimited refills. No place in South Korea, Seoul or USA that I know of that gives you this many side dishes. 3. They cook for you. I'm too lazy to cook at home... why do I want to cook in a restaurant where I'm paying to go to... to eat? 4. Bragging rights because of #2. Novel experience. Impressive picture. 5. Delicious, freshly made, and best quality. 6. Variety of the side dishes. It's like a tasting menu for Korean side dishes. 7. The best services always! I've been here probably over 50 times within the last 5 years. 8. Great group place. If there's at least 2 of you, then this is it. The more the merrier sort of place. Because you can just spend time tasting the 25 something side dishes and just talk about them and an hour pass by. 9. The wait staff are like models. I don't know where they get them but like... The men are like kpop stars and the females... Yeah... I'm drooling... Because of the side dishes of course! 10. I can't count. Jk. The overall experience is amazing. The best Korean BBQ place overall. I've been to both locations.

Fantastic Meat barbeque, soup is very light and delecious, their food is big, if you are 5 person, you can order foozd for 4 person, think about 1 person less for order. Because too much appatizers.

We came here for Christmas! Various side dishes for free! Three of us ordered a A courses which usually for 2. However, we were still really full! High quality of meats! We also ordered a steamed egg, highly recommended! We had two cocktails, both of them were low % alcohol! I am guessing less than 3%….But this is only thing I can complain of. Services was fine. A little bit rush in the beginning. (They put half of our meat in once.) Maybe that’s Korean style? Since we are not Korean, not sure this is normal or not. For parking, they only have valet parking. You may find spots on the street. We found the one is free after 11 am. Still, like other comments, pricey but meats and small dishes might be worth for celebrating any special day!

We have been here many times and it is always a fun experience. It is amazing to be here, enjoy their food and their creations. The meat quality is outstanding the service is super polite and helpful and every single time we try something new and we are always impressed. This is not this usual all you can eat garbage. This is high quality food with high quality ingredients. You have to plan to wait to be seated if you don’t have a reservation. Very highly recommended.

First time in California and first time trying Korean BBQ and I made the best restaurant choice! The servers made it so easy to understand the menu and they cook the food right in front of you! The pork belly is perfect. I was very impressed. Will definitely make a stop here my next visit!

One of the best Korean BBQ spots in LA. The ingredients here are top-notch and the seasoning is on point. Course A was more than enough food for two people, but we still ordered an extra order of galbijjim. Without a doubt, the best galbijjim we've had. Extremely tender and seasoned well. Even the person with orthodontics could chew it without issue. About the only downside is that you really gotta plan your banchan properly. They've got a great variety of veggies, but since they're all fermented with salt, it feels like you're giving yourself hypertension halfway through a meal if you're not eating them in the right order. Definitely drink water or maybe order a sweet cocktail to offset the salt.

If you're willing to splurge on a meal and craving for Korean BBQ, no need to look any further (unless you rather go further into K-town). We live like a few blocks away and hubs and I (mostly me) were craving Korean BBQ and we spontaneously went and hoped we could get a table w/o reservation. We got here around 3:30pm on a Saturday and got lucky after the lunch and before the dinner rush. Delicious and excellent quality meat (for the price I'm paying, it better be!). Service was great, can't complain. I love to try as many things as I can when I visit a place and of course, the 2 of us ordered a 3 person course meal (B course)! I was expecting we would be paying for like 5-10 slices max amount of meat but was surprised when we got a whole plate of meat! Meats, bibimbop, appetizers and even the house salad along with soju was an amazing and fulfilling linner. We made sandwiches with the leftover meats and so mouthwatering.... Yummmmmmmm

Always such a treat. Their meat banchan and service always amazing. We ordered the soybean stew for the first time so cozy more than enough for 3 adults, the spicy cold noodle was so good and all the banchans are good. Easy parking in back. They have training chopsticks for kids seaweed and rice paper. Ample seating indoors for large parties

Came here for dinner on a weeknight with a large group. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so it was easy to get a table. We ordered a course to share, which came with a variety of dishes and meats. The price wasn't cheap, but the quality of the meats were good. The staff cooks your meat for you, and I like how I didn't walk away smelling of BBQ on my hair and clothes. The restaurant is well ventilated! Parking was convenient in the nearby structure, and the restaurant validated parking.

This is probably some of the best Korean BBQ I've had. Most of my experience is with AYCE, since my friends and I aren't too well-off so we want to get our money's worth all of the time, but this place is worth the money for non-AYCE. I've had a la carte style before, but those places didn't live up to my expectations, especially in terms of the meat quality. Course B is perfect for two people which is what my girlfriend and I ordered. Out of the three meats offered in B, I favored the Jumuluk the most. It's not overly marinated, which I prefer since I like the plain meats offered in KBBQ such as brisket/beef belly. She liked the Galbi the best since she likes flavored beef. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive, and gave us good recommendations for other Korean restaurants to try. The place itself can be intimate or casual, depending on who you're there with. It can be a good date spot, or a good hang out spot with some friends. You can park in the building's lot. The entrance is on Mansfield. I think as long as it doesn't say reserved or "For future residents," it's a safe spot. I will return. I'm thinking I might even make it a once a month thing.

Came here with friend's because we wanted Korean BBQ. We ordered a few dishes to share; Jjigae, Bulgogi and Galbi. The ban chan was plentiful. Service was great and the food was amazingly delicious. It hit the spot.

Note that this is one of those places where it seems that the food items cost more at dinner time than at lunch; either that or the prices on their website were wrong. Their website says the A Course is $150 but it was in fact $125 when we got there at 1:30pm. The A Course which serves 2 comes with house salad, Japchae Noodles, galbi meat, dolsot bibimbap, spicy tofu soup, and your usual array of banchan. You also get another choice of meat out of 4 and we choose beef bulgogi. Important to note that this is not an AYCE place. The servers actually cook the food for you which is nice. I have to say that the Japchae noodles were of great quality. The server mixes sauce into the bibimbap and serves it; it tasted delectably crunchy. Although the amount of meats you get aren't a lot, they are of great quality. The spicy tofu soup and salad were just average. I even had one of their soju cocktails and it cost $16. You don't get a lot of it, but it was delicious and very strong.

If a K-Q spot is judged by it's Banchan, the dishes of freebie's before the grill gets lit, then this place is the Everest of K-Q. 20, yes 20, instead of 3 little cups of things surround the round grill. The question is where to begin and when to stop as bottomless refills of any cup are part of the drill to fill you up. Pace yourself although each small treat is worth a large Tweet. There are a couple of essentials that are essential before you go here. Parking is a breeze next door. Valet or self park in a garage with a guard for $5. Genwa is the size of an Amazon Fulfillment Center so no two hour wait awaits you when you show up unreserved. The Decor: Plain Jane or make that plain Jjiang. There is nothing to distract you from your appointed task of gorging on gorgeous meat. Mauve walls, accented by not too much. Is it a Rat's Maze of Rooms sporting colorful art works, and knicky knacky kitschy crafts on the walls? Aniyo. You are there to over eat. The Server encouraged me to over order. "Take the rest home", he said. But what do you do with one Mung Bean as that's all there was left over when the meal melee ended. Yes, the menu is somewhat daunting. There are pages of choices, but whether you are a seasoned veteran competitive eater, or a K-Q Newbie the Set Dinners are probably your best bet. Mountains of food will arrive at your table is if pumped from a Gatling Gun. Grill on, a legion of black uniformed energetic young Servers will turn up the energy. A Cooker will be table side adjusting your Mound-O-Meat on the grill while you confess your serial infidelities to your life partner, or worse your life partner confesses to you. The point being it's not a place for an intimate dining experience. Whatever you say will fill the ambient air like the swirling scent of grilling meat. Your Cooker will no doubt be a part of the table Convo. Eventually someone will tong a tangle of protein onto your plate as if you require custodial care which you may well require after eating everything you've ordered. The Food: The A Course is for A-Listers and consists of a House Salad which I thought that would be a Walk-in cleanout. However, the Salad was fresh, cold, crisp, and dressed with a simple no nonsense piquant Vinaigrette. One quick toss and we'll see how you do chop sticking a skinny thread of a Julienne Carrot onto your plate instead of your pants. A heaping plate of warm Glass Noodles showed up quickly once you get rolling. That comes with 4 Sauces. The Sweet/Savory Honey Garlic dip sang to me after tasting each one, along with a spoon of slightly diluted Gochujang Sauce for a little extra bang for your Won. Dolsit Bibambap was the best version of this dish you will find in the myriad of K-Q joints between LA and Seoul. The Stone Pot was jet engine hot so the Rice didn't take too long to crisp up. Mixed up with seafood and an Egg Yolk this was terrific. The Cooker moved the Rice around like a choreographer re-positioning a line of Dancers. Clumps of crunchy Rice were spooned onto my plate with glee and Kimchee. "The next meat is ready" said my Cooker Bestie as he snipped bits of the grilling meat. I asked if he had a side hustle doing circumcisions. His expression said he'd heard that way too many times so fahgeddaboudit. The pace never slowed, so both your arms will be working like pistons to keep up. The stack of Pickled Daikon instead of boring tasteless Wonton Wrappers usually offered was delicious. Use the razor thin rounds as a K-Taco. Wrap it around your beef (excuse the reference), re-visit the Banchan and build a burrito. The roiling boiling bowl of Sunbudo (stinky Tofu Soup) would warm the dead or you if you were standing outside wearing only socks and nose pressed against the window in a snowstorm. The soup was marvelous. Caveat: Take a pass on the Short Ribs tossed on the grill and scissored off the bone. The meat was all knobs of gristle, tasty as it was, it was inedible mystery chew. But this is a small price to pay for the rest of all the exceptional food you will get here. Genwa could be the Renoir of K-Q.

The homie and I had some Korean BBQ this past week at Genwa and had a good experience. We went with Course A for $125 which was a lot of food for two people, and added on a can of 7-Up that ran us $6.50. This came with their Galbi and then a choice of a few meats - we always do Chadol baegi - thinly sliced beef brisket. The galbi was stellar but the chadol baegi was a bit lacking in natural flavors, and def needed dipping. It also came with their salad, chapchae (the best I've had in LA so far, actually), spicy tofu soup, and dolsot bibimbap (I always love the crispy bits best). Their presentation is so nice and neat, lining up all the banchan in a circle around the fire. Service was nice and attentive most of the meal, as well. I think my main gripe is pricing with a bottle of soju at $24, corn cheese at $19, edamame at $14.50. It's a bit much. At similar prices, I'd rather do Park's, Chosun or Mun, eek. I swear I'm not trying to be a hater, but I do think 10 years ago, this was THE place to get Korean BBQ. I think so many prime meat places now exist in KTown, that Genwa is still prime - but towards the bottom of that list.

$14 Sapporo was ridiculous. $257 meat combo was absurdly priced for the quality of the meat. Nice staff though.

If you just want to try Korean BBQ once for the experience, this is the place to go. Fresh and flavourful meat, plenty of fun accoutrements, drink specials, efficient service. I don't need to do it again, but I had a fine time at Genwa.

This is the best Korean BBQ and most upscale restaurant I've dined at. I especially appreciated is our server grills the meat for us. The quality of meats and banchans were spectacular! This restaurant had the most assortment of banchans I've had at a Korean restaurant. All were delicious including the salad and optional japchae! We ordered Course C and it was a lot of food for 4 adult men. We left very full and satiated! Our server Anna was friendly and a great grill master. This place had great ventilation! No smoke in our eyes or on our clothes!

We frequently got to Genwa and love the food. We went there last night and my wife got e.coli poisoning. I have been trying to calm the restaurant since we realized how sick she was but they do not answer the phone and don't put an email address on their website. I really hope nobody else get sick!

A la carte kbbq is pricey but great for any special occasions. Genwa is a great place for such occasion. The interior is not too bright, not too loud, and feels classy (just look at that picture of the setup!). I love that there are a ton of side dishes for you to sample, and then you can always ask for more of your favs. However, disappointingly, I did not love most of the options. Maybe there is something to be said about quantity vs quality there, but it is also highly subjective. We chose to individually order dishes, rather than do the courses because we were not in the mood for bibimbap and some of the other set options. We did bulgogi, brisket, pork belly and seafood pancake. The meat is fresh and yummy. The serving are prompt with cooking and checking in on us. I wish they asked us more questions on how we liked to cook our meat. I like a crispy brisket so I would put my meat back on the grill to help get that char. The seafood pancake was good but incredibly filling. I would recommend it for either two extremely hungry individuals or in a group of 3+

Food is decent but overpriced! I don't think it's worth it. We got course C and M1 platter and it wasn't enough meat for 9 people. Meat quality is good but nothing too special for the price. I think there's better options in ktown. Good variety of banchan. Staff is friendly though. They cook the meat for you. They included 20% tip in our bill. They only have valet parking $5 even though it's a very empty garage We reserved a table for a party of 18 but I don't think we even needed to make a reservation. We came on a Saturday night and it wasn't busy at all.

Came here for the first time on a Wednesday night. For 2 people we decided to order the meat a la carts because while more expensive we were told that it has twice the portion compared to Combo A. The side dishes were amazing and the beef brisket was exvIt was a great experience overall The meat was high quality although for the marinated galbi was unusually soft. We a party of ten made a re reservation one week earlier to celebrate birthday party for our daughter and daughter-in-law on11-3-24. We were served by Eric s. His service was excellent and the food was very tasty and tender beef. We will come back again.

Had a wonderful celebration dinner here last night! Food was off the chart great, including the most amazing selection of banchan and great meats! This is the only Korean restaurant in the US which is unionizing, where workers are paid well. We need to support them! It''s really great quality, not cheap, but worth it! Highly recommended!

This place is probably still open because of its hype from a few years back. It's nothing like before. Everything is overpriced. Average quality food. Chairs, tables, other equipment inside just looks super outdated. Place even smells kinda weird by the entrance. Everything is old and outdated. It's pretty much dead inside. Few customers on a Saturday night. Probably won't be around much longer unless they make some changes.

Visit 1st Time Tryout. Order Galbi Lunch Special. Very Good Taste. Banchan Varieties Taste Very Good As Well. Price On Higher Side.

A more upscale KBBQ experience! There's a lot of construction on Wilshire near here so it's a pain driving. They do have a parking garage next to it as well since street parking is not really feasible at the moment. Perfect for a date night! Recommend doing the A Course for 2 instead of doing all-a-carte. You'll get a good amount of food! The banchan was really good and they had so many options!! They cook for you also so you won't need to worry about doing it yourself. We went with the bulgolgi and galbi and were really happy with the quality. Overall great service too and would come back for a special occasion or another date night!

This is the BEST Korean BBQ spot in Los Angeles! I stand by that whole heartedly! We don't eat Korean BBQ anywhere else, but here! It's not AYCE, but the meat is quality. The service is excellent and the food is delicious! It's on the pricier side, but it's worth it. Five stars!

Nice presentation with the variety of Ban Chan however, they were mostly cold, hard and dry: some Ban Chan(side dishes) should be soft and warm though: cold should be cold, warm should be warm. Lack of greetings from the wait staff. No Hi, Hello, Welcome and Thank you. It gave the guests feeling of they did not care much. The quality of meat was good. Both Bibim Neng Myun and Cold Mul Neng Myun were not worth for the prices due to its bland taste. PPL who are not familiar with Korean 냉면(Neng Myun) would not mind if they would not know well how Neng Myun should be. 4 star: the presentation of dishes, Quantity of Ban Chan, & Ambiance (nice & clean) 3 star: quality of meat 1 star: guests service, the quality of Ban chan, the taste of Neng Myun, & grilling technique of the server It is sad to see the overall service of this place has been going down slowly, not as good as before since its opening.

Still love this place, but it's not such a great value anymore. Still have high a huge variety of banchan (we got 18 dishes, not 23 as before); prices went up; and meat is still of high quality, not superpremium - but the beef brisket was far worse. So a reasonable value, but I fear that it may be squeezed out by places that are more upscale on the top end, and better value on the low end, and more of a party on the 6th and Alexandria end - leaving them with one USP: lots of kinds of banchan. Which is not nothing, but not enough to get them that 5th star.

This place holds a special place in my heart. It was the first place I ever ate Korean Barbecue & any type of Korean food when I first came 10+ years ago. We recently returned to celebrate a special occasion and wow... it was just as memorable, delicious and special as ever. The numerous petite dishes are artfully displayed and equally varying in taste. It's arguably the most generous number of complimentary dishes I've encountered at a Korean restaurant. The quality of meat here is excellent. I find it better than others. The ventilation in this restaurant is also super. It is not smoky in the slightest. I truly adore this place. Adjacency to La Brea tar pits is an added perk but this is a destination restaurant all its own. It is a five star Korean BBQ dining experience.

I take my korean bbq very seriously and this was the worst Ive had in LA. My brother and I had the cheapest combo meal and split a pitcher of beer and after tax and tip it came out to $250. I'm not one to leave reviews but had to for this place.

The fall off of this place should be documented. This used to be my go-to spot for a place with a lot of delicious banchan and high but reasonable prices with solid quality. But now prices have only continued to skyrocket far faster than any other Korean BBQ place in Ktown and quality has also gotten notably worse. It maintains the great banchan but I'd rather just buy it from a market if I wanted it that bad. Doesn't change my opinion overall but the service also had a steep decline.

The food was amazing!!! They provide so many items in the ban Chan and they were all delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on which items were gluten free and set all of them aside. Genwa has parking in the garage that can either be valet or self park for $5.

Food is good but price is definitely on the higher end. There are so many good Korean BBQ places in Korean town so not sure if it's worth the price to come here.

Omg! This place is sooo good! My first time here and order set menu A for you. It comes with so many delicious dishes! It comes with a wide variety of banchan (side dishes). The main course is galbi and we get to choose 1 more meat. We picked chadol ( thinly sliced beef brisket). Galbi was deliciously marinated and super tender and flavorful. Chadol is very tender and flavorful. Tofu soup was yummy. Bibimbap was amazing! It's full of veggies and the rice is super crispy from the stone pot. Jap chae and salad were good as well. I love the variety included in the set menu! A bit of everything that is scrumptious.

I was never a fan of KBBQ until we came across Genwa in DTLA. The idea of sitting in a smoke filled environment and leaving smelling like a bonfire in the peak of summer was not appealing to me. However we came across Genwa and the ventilation here is superb. The restaurant does not get overly Smokey and this is important! The servers are all very friendly and look like they actually enjoy working there (also important). Here they cook the meat for you and swap at the grills without you having to ask. I love that that servers are very informative and helpful when you need suggestion. The Lichee martini is delicious (if I could have 10 of these I would). We've been here twice and have ordered Course C both times. For 4 of us this is more than sufficient food (we all leave full). The meats are of great quality and all taste tender and not overly marinated. I love the started salad (next time I'll ask what marinade is used)

Amazing Korean food. Great place for kbbq. Definitely on the upscale side rather than casual. The meat quality was top tier and the side dishes were incredible. There was a huge variety of bonchon and the egg soufflé was heavenly. Service was great they were very helpful and kind. Must try if you like kbbq and are in or visiting La.

With two location experiences, I wanted to comment and review this particular one because I've experienced it a few times and have always been satisfied with their food quality, the staff and presentation. The ambiance is really a great place for a quiet one-on-one, or even with a group a people, and definitely a wonderful way to introduce Korean BBQ to first-timers! The marbling on the beef was beautiful! If you have had good Korean barbecue you'll know what I mean by that. One thing I do appreciate about this place is that they have amazing varieties a "banchan" (Korean side dishes) that are included as part of their service. The presentation looks clean oh, taste and texture and savoriness all are top notch. They serve two types of traditional Korean drinks, one is a wheat tea "bori-cha" and the other one is "shikae", a sweet rice drink. In All Occasions, my guests truly enjoy themselves and that includes my highly discerning mother when it comes to Korean cuisine! All in all a great place to enjoy some formal dining, regardless of the size of your party. Keep in mind the price is on the higher end, and at this location parking may be a bit tricky. Just watch out for the signs to make sure you're not parking in areas that might garner you a ticket. All in all a deliciously savory dance for your mouth, and a great place for a Korean BBQ experience!

Genwa is a Korean BBQ restaurant that has a couple of locations in LA. A friend had long recommended this place to us and we finally made it here recently. Compared to some KBBQs in LA, it's easy to get a table here without a wait because they offer reservations even if you're just dining as a party of two. We came here on a Saturday night with a reservation for 6 pm and were seated immediately. Paid street parking is available nearby. My husband and I got one of the set menu options, course A, which included a few variable options in addition to fixed options. The fixed options included japchae, sundubu, galbi and bibimbab. We had the choice of one additional meat from a few options and selected the beef brisket. They also provided a huge selection of ban chan. All of the food was excellent and the meat of a superior quality. Would definitely recommend this as a great spot if you're after Korean BBQ.

I've never been more disappointed with a Korean BBQ place in my life, and I've been to many. This place is overpriced, deceiving, and bland. I understand that these places are usually expensive but I feel deceived. On the menu, this was listed as "beef bimbibap" which, because this is a Korean BBQ place, I thought meant there was going to be actual meat pieces. Instead I got ground beef. They need to clarify what kind of beef there is going to be on the menu. I told the waiter of my situation but he told me there was nothing he could do, which I understand, but didn't address the larger problem of not specifying on the menu. The actual Bibimbap was extremely bland, and hard. My friends tried it, and wouldn't take a second bite. It was like eating leftover burnt rice with soy sauce. I've tasted better side shop $10 bibimbap than this, AND IT WAS $40! I would honestly avoid this place at all costs, save yourself the money and go to a local Korean BBQ place.

The banchan is plentiful and delicious. Loved the bulgogi and galbi. Really liked the steamed egg. Thought the chicken bibimbop was just ok. Didn't care for the beef dumplings at all - they were pretty bland and boring.

If you like galbi, you won't find a better one in LA. This is one of the pricer places, but totally worth it. Bulgogi is second to Parks and spicy chicken bulgogi is delicious as well. Side dishes here are great as well.

High quality food and high quality service is Genwa KBBQ forte. That being said, there is a high price to pay. The wife and I decided on course A: serves 2 people and includes house salad, japchae (glass noodles), one galbi (marinated Short rib), and choice of a second meat (Various choices), we chose chicken bulgogi, a sizzling bimbimbap plate and sundubu. All for $105. We also got a separate bottle of Nigori sake (small 375 ml $19). For me, the biggest hit was the bimbimbap. Excellent crispy rice on the bottom of the platter with great flavors. My only disappointment was the singular short rib. For $105, i thought at least 2 short ribs plus another meat would be more beneficial for a two person entree, but we are in LA. Anyhow, inside the place is pretty big with PLENTY of tables, service is spot on. Could be family friendly, but barely enough room for strollers and parking isn't good (again we're in LA) adjacent to the joint is a parking garage, but the attendant was not letting us park there for some reason or another so we ended up parking across the street. Genwa is a good place to eat and chill, but I'm not a 1%er so this would be spot to getting only if I'm in the area. Happy eats!

I freaking love Genwa KBBQ - it has all the things I love. Quality meat? Check. Minimal lines? Check. Great service? Check. Lots of bonchon? Check. What more can a girl ask for? This was the perfect place for dinner after a karaoke session and to help me get sober up after drinking. I don't remember what I ate, but I know it was delicious. It's a little pricier than the normal KBBQ and it's not AYCE, but you get what you pay for and I have no complaints.

If you're looking for an upgraded Korean bbq experience, this is it. Is it pricey? Yes? Is it worth it? Also, yes. Can we talk about how you get literally 15 banchan with two refills? As a party of three, we did the course A, which is supposed to feed two. It comes with a salad, bipbimbap, soon dobu soup, and two meats. I was full, surprisingly. The staff will flip and cook the meats for you, so you don't need to worry about this. We did the galbi and pork belly, and oh my goodness.... It was super juicy, flavorful and tender.

I have to say LA Korean town is better than Manhattan Korean town in terms of food variety, food quality and taste. Everything here is amazing. We accidentally decided to come to Genwa after a long rainy day at universal studio. Place is huge and fancy. We had their marinated beef and unmarinated beef and it's delicious. Chewy, flavorful and tender. We are amazed by how great this place is. Service: they helped you bbq your meat or u do it urself. Lots of small dishes before the food and you can almost feel eating those alone. Overall: 5 stars.

Never fails to disappoint. The Banchan is always amazing and all of our mains were delicious. Service was great and can't wait to visit again.

Ate here today with my friend. He got food poisoning. The difference was I did not eat the bibimbap, he did. Called the restaurant. They immediately denied responsibility and said usually food poisoning comes later. Not until I told them it was my friend's first meal did they offer some assistance If my friend needed to go to the emergency room.

Genwa js a higher end Korean bbq place worth going with a group of people. The prices are more expensive than other kbbq in the area but the ambiance and quality of their food is good. I got their combo which comes with brisket and galbi. The brisket was pretty dry but the galbi was really good. If you are driving, they have valet parking in the garage, but it costs like $5-7 or something. They have a lot of side dishes and it looks very appetizing when all laid out on the dining table. The alcohol here is super expensive compared to retail price. Not worth getting. If you want to splurge and want to eat at a fancy place, this is a nice treat for you. I would check out somewhere else.

One of my favorite Korean bbq places to hit up in LA. It's pricey, but that's expected for the amazing quality of food. I would always come here with my sister when we lived a block away; we would usually split an order of the beef brisket, bulgogi, japchae, and kimchi jjigae. Genwa hits the spot and packs in great flavor, you can tell that the meat and vegetables are fresh. It's the perfect weekend dinner treat. Service is always great, servers cook for you and are frequently checking in. Dining room is clean, spacious, and provides plenty of seating for parties large and small. It's a trendy restaurant that is all vibes, is cool and hip.

This restaurant is the best Korean BBQ I have been to in the LA area. We drove down from the Central Valley for an event and found this place. We had course B and added the Waygu rib eye. The portions are big and flavors for all the meats were high quality and perfectly seasoned. All the banchan served were delicious and the bimbimbap was just as delicious.... Wow! Highly recommend. We also read on the door that this is a Michelin star
