Google
Really enjoyed my visit today. The employee Shane was upbeat, knowledgeable and caring. He recommended different items to customers before me. He really enjoyed working at the bakery and serving customers. Really great quality of breads and cakes and other German items like Haribos, Rotkohl, Weisswurst, Teas etc. Highly recommend if you want authentic German baked goods. Shane also said goodbye in German to me which was a lovely touch

Google
The bread and baked goods are absolutely delicious! A little taste of home! There’s also a wide variety of German snacks, teas, etc. Been coming here for years.

Google
You get really good service here! They offer advice and suggestions. The prices are not bad at all and quality of the food is great! Fantastic pastries! When I bring them in for the office, they are always a big hit!

Google
First visit... very nice customer service. Helped us with what they have. Got a pretzel roll, cinnamon roll, and a sweet loaf of bread (and a Mars bar candy bar). Everything was really good and really fresh! I had never gone in because I assumed the prices would be high, but they really weren't... very much worth what we paid. They gained a new regular customer! Can't wait to try more stuff!!

Google
Small German bakery and pastry shop. Modest selection of soups, pastas, and condiments, including an impressive variety of flavored ketchups! The Dark Rye Bread is fresh and very good, with No preservatives. It will immediately remind you of Germany! Come here for extra-large pretzels that will blow your mind. They will remind you of a certain mouse themed park’s superhero campus.

Google
Huge round cookie was my favorite, can't remember what it was called, a fat chocolate covered cookie filled, or topped before chocolate covered, with hazelnut cream or mousse was amazing. Glad I asked about it. Poppyseed mandarin cream roll was fantastic as well even tho on discount level next day ole. Strawberry stuffed filling was great too but wished there was more of it.

Google
They have beautiful and delicious breads and pastries. Very disappointing that they don’t have any boxes ( even for sale) to display goods. No plastic utensils or napkins. Everything goes in bags and gets squished together. They don’t accept 50s or 100s and then they add 3.5 % to your purchase price. It’s a shame the way they do business

Google
I have been wanting to visit this place and check it out. Stopped in this morning and was totally excited on what they sell. Not just bread but also glorious looking deserts. I picked up some Rhubarb jam, can't wait to try it. There are so many things I want to try. I will definitely be back to get more. Oh. And the staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Yelp
Oh no .. sadly, my family learned the hard way that the reviews for their pumpernickel bread were not wrong... It was pretty pricey for the hockey puck we picked up Sunday morning.. you would think Sunday morning would be a baking day, huh? Nope, not a scent of yeast to be had in the shop.. I particularly don't care for that smell but I would care for a fresh loaf of bread hence the store name.. but that's far from what we received. we had to put this loaf of what was supposed to be pumpernickel in the oven for over 10 minutes and it still wasn't soft .?.? Back on the East Coast they do not make pumpernickel with oats on top. I think she actually just passed us off a different loaf . For it being a bread "bakery" with another location, there wasn't much inventory about one of each loaf.?. At rampart location anyway. Again strange for a Sunday morning. The worker was hard at hearing that's why I didn't call the place and ask some questions . Overall wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
EVERYTHING is good. EVERY-THING! If you have never been to Germany and enjoyed great German cuisine, you know this is the place to be. The desserts here are to die for. Go there now !

Yelp
If I could give no star to choose I would. I had lousy service not very pleasant and rude and has attitude. I don't intend to come back and not recommended!!

Yelp
Why haven't I walked in this place sooner?! I kept hearing about how fresh the breads and pastries were, so decided to check it out. The Apple Strudel is amazing! We also had the Almond Coffee Cake and Pretzel Stick. The place is simply decorated and you can pick out the delicious pastries at the counter. The staff is super friendly and did a great job explaining what they offer, and the various types of breads they have. They said the owners spend the previous night, 8pm-4am, baking everything so its fresh and ready to deliver to their two Las Vegas locations. We definitely want to come back and try the fresh baked loaves of bread. If you want fresh baked breads and pastries, this is the place. We shall return!

Yelp
I've been seeing Facebook ads for this place for the last few months or so? My mom has been wanting to go, so today I took her. This place is awful. Stopped in for some bread and maybe some sweet pastries. The bread was dried out, tasted days old -definitely not fresh. Cherry strudel was hard as a rock -the dough was tough and hard to chew-zero flavor. Will not return. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Great selection of pastries and bread. Select German groceries. Reasonably priced. They have discount for cash customers but they don't take $50 or $100 bills.
google avatar

Karlee C.

Yelp
My mom lived in Germany for many years and LOVES this place. Not only is everything delicious and meticulously and deliciously made, there is also a little "grocery store" inside the bakery. Occasionally I grab jelly or some other little treat for her or myself. If you can't decide what to get the pretzel croissants are NEVER a mistake!!!

Yelp
I love International bakeries & ships, there's something about stepping into another part of the worlds culture. Enter German Bread Bakery. This little no frills, great service shop has a variety of fresh baked breads, pastries, and German offerings. Service is kind. There's German chocolates, spices, sauces, & jams. The breads are yummy. You knead to go here!

Rick J.

Yelp
Service was excellent The pastry was good. Probably would have been great. Except my sweet tooth was not satisfied. I'm assuming because it was authentic German pastry
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Oma would not approve of this place. The ratio of pastry to filling is absurd for how much they charge. This is essentially the white claw of apple danishes.

Yelp
Walked in no one there to greet us cashier was sitting in a chair talking to someone in the back room. After looking for about 5 minutes she finally asked if we were ready to order. As for food it was descent ordered a few items Almond Croissant was hopping it was stuffed with almond paste but wasn't, just was plain with a small amount of almonds sprinkled on it. Kids ordered Berliner with strawberry filling that tasted more like cherry and it wasn't fresh jam just processed gelatin. Maybe that's how it is suppose to be but didn't really like it our preference. Inside was cute a little bakery and store items like pickles and cookies ect.

Anie T.

Yelp
Randomly found this nice bakery when my coworkers decided to carbo load to last the rest of the work day. I'm sure we didn't need to. Everything we bought from there is so good.
google avatar

Kathryn J.

Yelp
A simple bakery with absolutely delicious pastries and other items. You aren't here to sit and have brunch, it's a pay and take home without letting your family know situation. Try anything, there's no bad choices. Probably the most classic item to get would be a bee sting cake. Tchuss!

Shar P.

Yelp
The lady working on Sunday was not friendly and either didn't seem to be happy working there, or serving us, or both. 3 stars only because the pastries we got were decent. We got the German cheesecake, apple pie, almond bread, and pudding bread. All pretty tasty but the apple pie was very sweet, and almond bread a little dry, but did the job for that day.

I L.

Yelp
Great flavored pastry! Decadent! So glad they are around the corner. Friendly and quaint service.

Yelp
Super bummed out. Out of the 3 items I purchased this morning, only the dark rye bread was delicious. I've purchased the bear claw with marzipan and rum balls before, and today both were terrible. The sign in the case said Bear Claw with marzipan (almond paste), but there was absolutely no almond paste in this bear claw. I even pulled it apart to look inside to see if there was any marzipan, and there was none. It was absolutely tasteless sugary pastry. And the rum balls from this bakery typically taste like the ones that I've bought in the Danish town, Solvang, California, but today they were just sour, tasting and very floury. No flavor at all that tasted at all good. I ate half of the ball, before sending it into the garbage along with the bear claw. I purchased three of the rum balls and I have thrown all of them away. Might as well throw money in the garbage. Is there a new pastry chef, because they may need to refresh their learning or perhaps taste their creations before putting it out in the cases. As for the rye bread, that was great toasted it up and it is perfectly tasting delicious as I recall it to be. So 1out of 3 are terrible odds, but I will be back for the bread. The lady working I believe is the owner and is very pleasant.

Yelp
I'm not a fan. Maybe i just prefer a different flavor profile. Ordered about 5 different items, didn't like any. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I think i tried a jelly donut of some kind. Nothing like the lovely yeast belinger i remember. May have been a strawberry jelly? Im used to homemade raspberry. Just missed the mark on traditional. There was a hazelnut cookie that just had an off flavor to me. I believe there was a cinnamon roll that was just not my favorite. A beesting cake. Again, maybe it's me. The flavors just didn't work out for my personal taste. * My dad is German, and I have had these pastries before and enjoyed them.

Yelp
I went here twice! I really wanted to try a German Berlinger donut with filling inside and a bee sting cake slice. Luckily I found a place in Las a Vegas that has it. Back in San Francisco it's very slim picking in trying to find a German Bakery around. Vegas always has more variety of food that I can't find in my hometown. This is truly A hidden gem in the shopping complex. They bake everything fresh by hand in this little bakery. I think there is only one lady working here? People all wait in line patiently because they know they are getting good stuff. Luckily their baked goods are not overly sweet like some American bakeries tend to do. German and Asian bakeries are similar light sweetness and not heavy batter. This is well worth the stop is you are in the area. They have two locations at South Eastern and North Rampart. I love their variety pretzels and I need to get more of their cake slices! Yummy in my tummy and worth another repeat. They also can make whole cakes too. So hard to find authentic German baked goods. Till next time!

Yelp
I always stop in to send sunflower rye home with my out of town family! The groceries and fridge section carry great product that has been longed for. The croissants, breakfast treats and Stix are a family favorite. Give yourself a treat and visit.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I was in Germany last 2023 and had a pretzel in one of the bakeries in Neunberg. It reminded me of the pretzel I have tried in German Bread Bakery. I know that my experience was the other way around because you're supposed to taste something first from that country before trying it in the US. It's just a proof that German Bread Bakery only serves authentic German baked goods!

Jill M.

Yelp
The pretzel croissants are to die for! There is also a little portion of the bakery that sells food items from Germany.

John W.

Yelp
Avoid this place. Bread, rolls, pretzels are not fresh at all. I recently went to this place early on a saturday morning. I purchased several pretzels, pretzel rolls, German rolls. and Strudel. None of the items were freshly baked......they seemed to be day old at best. When I go to bakery early on a saturday morning I expect to receive items that have come out of the oven at 4 or 5 AM that day. Cant tell when these were baked, but they were dried out and hard. The strudel was given to me on a styrofoam tray in a paper bag, not in a box like a real bakery. Pretty low class!
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Been coming here for a few years now, and usually no issues...the pretzel rolls, and such are the best. But the most recent visit was a touch disappointing sadly..whoever was there went I went in with my mother a couple weeks ago, kept serving what seemed to be regulars first before anyone that was already there...my mother finally had enough and asked when it would be our turn. Another regular had come in for a danish or whatever it was, and whoever was working there at the time said very loudly and rudely "Let me help them first...they are complaining" Of course we'd complain..we were there before several of the people after us who got served first. Like I said, this was hopefully a one off, and we haven't had any issues before this, and hopefully won't again. I'd hate to stop coming here....like I said I love their pretzel items!

Yelp
An authentic German bakery with treats galore! They close at 1:30pm so get in early to make sure you have the best chance at finding yummy treats. ~Food~ 1) Poppyseed orange roll: 5/5, I love poppyseed in baked goods and this was no exception. The pairing with delicious cream that was not overly sweet along with sliced oranges tucked into the roll made for a delectable treat. Overall I plan on coming back and this time a lot earlier in the day to have more options

Yelp
Great authentic German food. Also has a neat little grocery section as well as sausages and other meat products. Highly recommended!

Yelp
For years, I've been meaning to stop by the German Bread Bakery. I was recently in the area to visit family near Lake Mead and 215. I decided to take a extra trip to the German Bread Bakery. The German Bread Bakery is located at North Rampart Blvd and W Lake Mead Blvd. It's located next to Smiths. There is spacious amount of parking. My daughter and I were really lucky! We had arrived at 4:30, just as they were about to close up. The team member re-opened the door for us and allowed us into the bakery. My daughter was so excited and had immediately started to look over all of the baked goods and other items offered inside the Bakery. We had decided to randomly pick out several baked goods. [1] Berliner - organic wheat flour, milk, whole egg, sugar, margarine, strawberry jam, baking conditioner system (wheat flour, ascorbic acid, soy oil, enzyme), fresh yeast, lemon, vanilla aroma, sea salt. [1] Cinnamon Stick [1] German Cheesecake [3] Sugar dough. [1] Pack of prepackaged gummies The price was really good! We paid about $13.00 for all of the goodies that we had received! All of the food was good. The German Cheesecake was interesting, fluffy and seemed more of a angelfood cake texture than a cheesecake. The Cinnamon stick was crunchy and sugary. I didn't particular care for the vanilla pudding Berliner, but the dough was nice, fluffy, and plenty of sugar on-top. This is a great bakery and I'll have to come back to try out some of their breads or rolls!

Kelly K.

Yelp
Wonderful service. Outstanding German pastries. They have marked down items for 30% off. They taste just as delicious.

Yelp
Love, love, LOVE this place! I grew up in Germany and German Bread Bakery is the closest I have ever seen anyone in the US replicate the traditional German bakery. From the bread smell, to the interior layout, this screams German bakery! Plan to come early in the morning for the best selection. Bread here is baked fresh, and this is not a supermarket, so if you come in the afternoon, you might find a few items sold out. Everything here is pretty authentic from the pretzels to the various cakes to the bread. My favorite are the pretzels because I have yet to find anything from a non-German bakery that comes close to a German pretzel. I have also tried the pretzel croissant, poppy roll, and several of the cake slices. Everything tasted amazing! The service here is also very good and friendly. My only complaint is that they charge 50 cents to process credit card transactions.
google avatar

Sandra C.

Yelp
We were excited to visit and get some German baked goods but sadly everything we picked up today tasted like it was baked yesterday. They do have a yesterdays baked goods but that's not from what we purchased the pretzels and bread from. I even asked if the things were baked today and was told yes but having a pretzel crumble is not a sign of a today baked pretzel sadly. Don't think we will come back.

George U.

Yelp
Excellent baked goods and selection including almond croissants and bear claws. Will return again when in the area.

Becca F.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for the longest time and finally got around to it this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be going back.

Yelp
Hidden Treasure In Summerlin I have been coming here since 2014 . I don't live in the area so I get here a couple times a year . I was stationed in Germany when I was in the Army from 1985 to 1989 so I miss my German Food . They have really good Apple Strudel and Cherry and is FRESH ! They also make fresh brotchen and it sells out quickly . The Rum Balls are very good and strong just the way I like it . I just wish Alpine Village was still open which was my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas . It served German and Austria dishes and had a cool bar downstairs . It closed in 1997 and Cafe Heidelburg is also closed since about 2 years ago or more . So now you have to go to Cafe Berlin which is good and Hofbrauhaus which is ok . The nice lady that helped me today was from Frankfort .

Yelp
What a humble little gem tucked away in a Smith's strip mall! They offer a small yet ample variety of breads and pastries. There is also a coldcase and rack of dry goods that house delicious cultural sundries. My kiddos enjoyed several different visually appealing treats that tasted great. There are plenty of choices for those with a sweet tooth and carb addiction. I'd recommend stopping by earlier in the day when the options are more plentiful.
google avatar

Megane E.

Yelp
Very nice store, clean and friendly staff. Had a nice variety of pastries. Will definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place. The bee sting cake was crispy, buttery, creamy, and moist all at the same time. Lots of textures and the almonds complement the Bavarian cream perfectly. I almost wish I hadn't tried it because it's definitely a crave-able sweet. The pretzel bun was light and airy which surprised me since pretzel breads are usually dense and chewy, but it was tasty so it didn't make it into the pic because I ate it on the drive home! I'll be back to try their cheese danish [they didn't have any left when we arrived]!
google avatar

Yelp
As a military brat raised in Germany, this is the first spot that made me happily flash back to childhood. Delicious. Authentic. Worth it.

Riss1214 D.

Yelp
Love this bakery. Brings back memories of the time we lived in Germany. I loved that their bread and pasries are homemade and don't use preservatives.

Yelp
When 3 out of 4 customers at any given time are speaking with the staff in Deutsch, you know this place is the real deal when it comes to German baked goods. I continuously have German Bread Bakery bookmarked for when I'm in town (I believe I've been to the other location) and try to make it out to the shopping plazas they're in for a nostalgic treat. On this recent visit I got a Pretzel Croissant, Apfelstrudel (they are sliced in reasonable portions), and Berliner doughnut (my least fave of the batch but the dough is still nice and soft). In the past, I believe I've gotten the crumb cake, pretzels, and danishes along with a combination of the above as well. There is also a grocery section with imported German goods that I like to peruse through. Hope to come back again soon.

Yelp
Great German bakery serving up delicious sweets & breads. They also sell German products such as sausage, candy, condiments, drinks, etc... Items tried and liked (so far): Beesting Cake German Cheese Cake Pudding Crumb Cake Apple Strudel Cream Puff Hummingbird Cake Nougat Coin (my favorite) Lemon Roll Cheese Danish Berliner Cinnamon Stick I just realized I've been here numerous times yet never taken any photos of my purchases. But anyway... Bakery is clean. Service is quick & friendly. Definitely worth checking out!

Jehan A.

Yelp
VERY RUDE....When ever I go to Nick the Greeks next door I stop at the bakery to get my husband candy because sometimes they sell British candy as well. As I was walking to the door the cashier was coming out w her phone. As soon as she noticed my son and I walking towards the door her face changed and you clearly see that we upset her break. I get it when you want to take your break you want to take it. I smiled and said "its ok i am just looking in to see if you got new candy in stock". She opened the door angerly took a deep sigh and said something under her breathe. I stopped and didn't go in. I have worked many jobs in my life where it has been slow and when upu go to take break is when someone walls in the door. So i understand the frustration however, I never let a customer see it or experiance it. I swore to my son that i will never go in to this bakery again just because of this. For a small bakery show appreciation to anyone that makes a CHOICE to buy from your establishment. Sorry to the cashier today i didn't mean to upset you for being a customer.

Zandreah B.

Yelp
German cheesecake was very tasty. Pretzel was good. Fruit tart could have been great but there was only 1 teaspoon of custard. Very disappointed with that. Also purchased curry ketchup, iykyk.

Yelp
I was excited to see a German bakery very near where I had just eaten lunch. That excitement became mixed once entering the bakery. The shelves were full of great looking pastries. But one of the items in the display case was day-old Danish pastry. Now if those pastries are fresh out of the oven, they are heavenly. If it's a few hours old, it's still pretty good especially if warmed up first. But if it has been sitting around a day or so ... well, it will have become dried out and not really worth eating. I went ahead and bought a couple of items. The first were some macaroons. Those were fresh and quite tasty. I also bought some glazed dessert cake for after dinner. It had good flavor but sadly it's magic was spoiled because, I suspect, that like the Danish pastry mentioned above, it had been sitting out for more than a day and was very dried out and somewhat crumbly. The last thing I noticed was that though the countertops in this bakery looked clean, the floor under the racks behind the counter looked neglected and in need of a clean mop.

Yelp
There is something about German bakeries that hold a special place in my heart. Not sure if it's just because of how great their pretzels are after having a few in Munich or just the memories that I have but since I've been to Germany I look for German restaurants and bakeries wherever I go. I didn't even know this place existed until one of my friends told me about it so we went there a couple months ago pre-Covid and bought a bunch of crap. I don't recall having anything that tasted bad but let me tell you that their pretzel rolls and pretzel buns are fantastic... I cannot stress this enough If you go there you must buy at least one because they are delightful. I would also recommend getting a couple of the sweet treats too as they are wonderful dessert's. I'm not sure if they're open now or not but I would like to go back there for some carb loading in the near future!

Yelp
The best bakery and customer service ever! We would definitely recommend our friends and family to go there! Loved the baked goods and candy! We got the Easter bread!

Yelp
I have been here twice so far. Each time it is a treat!! The breads are very good, but the pastries!!!!!!!!!!! Oh so good! Too good, I keep buying them!!

Yelp
Staff here are always so friendly and attentive. We stopped to purchase some breads and ordered a Black Forest cake for a birthday as well. The cake was delicious! They always have the best fresh breads and bakery items available.

Yelp
Lovely authentic German bakery. Early in the day has the largest selection. Some items run out. A bit pricey buy delicious breads, danish and large variety of packaged goods.

Yelp
Found this gem of a German bakery on Yelp. If you have never had a pretzel croissant, get here fast! Flaky, chewy with a nice savory flavor. I bought an extra one for breakfast the next day and it was still good after a little toasting. I found the loaf of bread a little dry for my taste, but it has no preservatives and are baked fresh daily. I will be back when I visit Las Vegas again. It's off the beaten track, but if you have a car stock up!
