The Best East Bay Breweries - Eater SF

"Located in a former coffin factory in West Oakland, Ghost Town has amassed a large following for its well-executed hoppy and malty beers. The taproom is offering pickup noon–6 p.m. daily, same-day home delivery (to specific limited areas each day), and shipping to anywhere in California. Order online." - Luke Tsai, Janelle Bitker

Recommendations for What to Eat, Drink, Read, and Watch This Weekend  - Eater SF

"Lots of local breweries are now offering beer for pickup or delivery, which isn’t just awesomely convenient, it’s also a great way to support good beer in hard times. Order minimums and delivery fees vary, but I’m into the scene at Ghost Town Brewing in West Oakland, because you can drop twenty bucks on a custom 4-pack of tall boys, and they’ll still deliver for five bucks flat. Plus, these guys were a heavy metal band before they started making beer, so all of their brews have dark and twisted names — nothing sophomoric, thank you very much. They’re now canning Scumbag, a crispy cream ale that previously was only poured in the taproom, and “pairs beautifully with gas station egg rolls.” And they just released Dio Cane, a clean and clear pilsner that they recommend for breakfast. Rock on." - Eater Staff

The Staff is AMAZING at the Brewery. Fun, accommodating, knowledgeable, fast & always kind. I appreciate coming here to avoid KID CENTRIC places. IMO, Kids do not belong in Bars or Breweries. They’re not banned or unwelcome here, but I super appreciate that they’re not a lot of Kids ruining my Relaxing. Best West Coast beer in 200 mild also.

Google
Ghost Town’s beers are as tasty as the brewery itself is metal. And the brewery is pretty metal. They’ve got more beers on tap, with tons of variety, than you could reasonably consume in one sitting (though that would be kinda metal too I guess). Awesome beers, awesome space, awesome staff. Give them a visit. 🤘🏻

Google
My favorite brewery in the east bay hands down. Love all the NZ hopped ipas, plus they always have something different.

Annie Chen

Google
One of the top breweries in Oakland, especially if you love IPAs. Hazies and WC are always good, and their pilsners always hit the spot if you’re looking for something light and crisp. The indoor space is huge and they have outdoor parklets. They also have pinball machines! They have food trucks during certain hours.

Larry Ladd

Google
Big beers are here. Pleasant seating indoor bike rack friendly prompt servers-one of the owners poured my juniper berry sour that the brewer carmalized over hot rocks. It was sourly pleasant. Also had the Lecherous Hz IPA which was made with big flavor as I would suspect each of their brews are. I’ll come back.

Google
Good beer. Food truck was good but many items were sold out. Nice stout on nitrogen. Great selection of beers. Parking was difficult but we finally found a spot. Very loud and sun coming trough windows is blinding. Not a safe part of town but acceptable. Slow to serve even though two people serving beer.

Don Frasco

Google
This place is bigger than their other place. Street parking only. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Great place for groups. There are lots of beers on tap. They have karaoke night on Tuesdays.

Google
Best beer in the bay. This location is more of a unique vibe than the east Oakland one. It’s not unusual they have heavy metal music blasting or some horror movie on the projector.

Yelp
I've always loved Ghost Town's beers, from the always solid selection of IPAs as well as the names and artwork on the cans. I finally got to check out the West Oakland location and the experience very much delivered on both aspects. First, drink selection - between the drafts and can's you'll have everything you desire. Not just IPAs but darker beers, sours, etc. The friendly staff will take care of you promptly and get you what you need. On the overall atmosphere, it sort of feels like being transported to their thematic world. It's dark inside, with horror-goth themed pinball machines, and other similar decorations. They even hold an occasional goth market to level things up more. So if you haven't been, go now! Even better, order some pizza, bring some friends, and enjoy a few rounds.

Yelp
4++ I just recently learned of Ghost Town Brewing myself at the Firestone Walker Invitational, but apparently my friends have known of this place for a while. I visited their West Oakland location recently. There's definitely a theme going on inside. The beertenders were very friendly and the vibe here is between heavy metal/ goth. I don't think they made food themselves, but there was a food stand set up outside. I personally ordered the porter and a sour. For me, the sour is a little on the tart side, but the porter was solid. A really cool space to drink beers. I bought a four pack to go as well. Beer-wise, the more I learned of them from my friends I think they're really known for the West Coast style IPAs. Definitely a great spot for beers. Another bonus about the location is that it's actually pretty close to some other awesome breweries or tap rooms as well so a sort of a crawl can be done.

Yelp
So this is their warehouse-y brewery where you can chill in a large open warehouse-y space, sample ample choices of brews in a quite unique atmo. They have another spot in a more foot traffic neighborhood (Laurel), but this is where they actually brew all their beers and if you like to actually be around massive brewery equipment, then this West Oakland location should be the choice. This brewery tasting hall is unique in that it has a goth/macabre vibe that is done in a whimsical way versus creepy and dark. Fun and creative art work, vintage pinball machines with 'scary' themes on display (not playable), and a very eclectic playlist that'll bump anything from Siouxie and the Banshees to Ministry to some hard death metal that I couldn't even identify but was entertained. I think they're called Ghost Town because this building used to be a coffin/casket manufacturer back in Oakland's industrial days. Beers were pretty good. Lots of IPAs of course but I did find their versions to be cleaner and lighter than most, with still a good hop presence. I'm kinda tired of heavy and burly IPAs to be honest. I found their Death Wax IPA to be quite good and balanced that I even took home a 4 pack to share with the hometown buds. But they have many other brews that aren't IPAs like Pilsners and lagers to even some sours. So very hipster friendly. The weekend day we were there, a mobile pizza stand was outside, that I can't remember the name, but they were so good, especially with the brews here. So I don't know if they rotate mobile food options, but I do know that their other location has an actual food set up, so that one is more restaurant-y, if you wanna go that route. I was actually surpised in how many families with kids were here as well. Go figure. Dog friendly place too, even inside the building which gets a thumbs up from me. I think this may be my new favorite brewery in Oaktown. Just need to solidify a few more visits to earn that fiver. But well played Ghost Town, well played.

Yelp
Ghost Town is without a doubt making some of the best beer in the Bay Area. This location provides the quintessential brewhouse / taproom experience... High ceilings, roll up doors, polished concrete, visible stainless steel tanks, friendly staff + food trucks & delicious beer. I've stopped by a couple times and the selection of beer is always incredible. The brews are consistently tasty, I get super excited when I see my local bars with the Ghost Town tap handle. The team here is authentically down-to-earth and super helpful. I can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
Delicious, affordable beer! The staff are friendly and helpful. There's plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. One of the few places that offers a lovely $6 IPA.

Yelp
Ghost Town Brewing got on my radar after seeing them keep winning medals for their IPAs. As someone always in the search of a good West Coast IPA, it's easy to find them here with two boards dedicated to the style. Low God: A Dry Hopped Pilsner with Nelson and HBC 586. When I ordered dry hopped pilsner the bartender said 'which one' and I almost cried with enjoyment. This was light in body, but had a big expression of Nelson and 586. Devilish Wit: An Oak Fermented and Aged Belgian Wit beer brewed with Indian Coriander Seed, Chamomile Flower, and Local Oranges / Lemons. Bright, citrusy, and fluorescent. As I have said before, I love a good Hazy (in this case in Wit form). Leviathan: A West Coast IPA made with Citra, Nectar, and Nelson hops. Two NZ hops joined up with Citra to blend orange citrus with other tropical fruits like mango / overripe melon. Inhume: An IPA brewed with Citra, Centennial, and Simcoe, Clean and classic, not much more to say. If you like IPAs and are in Oakland you can't pass up a visit to Ghost Town. __________

Yelp
I absolutely loved the Japanese food pop-up at this West Oakland brewery. It was the perfect complement to our beer tasting experience. The brewery itself has a huge, open-concept space that provides plenty of room to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Plus, they had an impressive selection of darks and sours for us to explore and savor. It made for a fantastic outing filled with great beer and delicious Japanese bites.

Yelp
The middle age cismale bartender around 2 PM today (Friday) displayed patronizing behavior when I tried to order a beer (asked if I could count when I asked how many sour beers they offered-- I was just accustoming myself to their display sections as it was my first time there). I named that 'mild jab'/disrespect and like most straight cismales, he laughed it off and said it was just a joke (he also appeared surprised I spoke up immediately). He did that again after I looked confused/surprised by another rude/inappropriate comment. If I was a Chad or straight cismale (like what appeared to be the majority of the customers at that time), I highly doubt he would have acted the way he did. Fellow womxn & queers, plz call out any sexist or disrespectful behavior if you have capacity (even though these disrespectful males should be figuring it out themselves and working on their oppressive mindsets and practices). While the sour beer was quite good and bike parking was convenient, my friends and I were truly taken aback by his behavior (this is the Bay for goodness sake) and will not be returning to this establishment. The other location in the Dimond District was relatively more welcoming when I went awhile back. Also not a fan of metal and the general physical ambience-- has a pretty straight white male vibe.

Yelp
Excellent beer, unique vibes. If you're into fresh, balanced west coast IPAs, don't miss this spot. Their other location is also great for groups & food! Along with Original Pattern, this is the best beer in Oakland. Never misses!

Yelp
Best beer in Oakland .its a vibe in here. Nice seating area outside and it's covered for shade. Servers are nice and friendly .

Yelp
Quirky fun brewery in West Oakland, themed in ghostly decor and pinball machines. Great beer selection, reasonable prices.

Yelp
My favorite brewery in the whole North California you can't go wrong here with there amazing craft beers l

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place last night. Was only able to try one beer because I was DD'ing for the evening. It was a great vibe with the skulls and coffins and metal music. I also appreciated the amount of space they had to work with in terms of seating. The taco truck they had around the corner was really tasty and we had a really great time. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Being a beer connoisseur, I was excited to finally make my way to Ghost Town this week. It's a brewery I am familiar with, drinking it a local craft beer bar out in Brentwood (Hop Asylum). Being less than 10 minutes from work and with nothing better to do I decided it was time to see what Ghost Town had to offer at the brewery. Was a bit unsure of that part of West Oakland, but parked around the corner, in front of the brewery, plenty of street parking and walked into the warehouse style facility. There were tables outside and a pop up burger stand as I walked in. The most noticeable item, the loud, dark and death type metal playing, reminded me of my visit to 3 Floyds in Indiana some years back, but the music, while loud did fit the feel of the establishment. Dark walls and concrete, their coffin logo with the beer bottle in it along with a collection of Halloweem-ish stuff around the brewery. The large vats, sitting in the open warehouse, giving it a very industrial feel and look. The staff was friendly and helpful, continually busy with a steady influx of patrons. No bar seating, but plenty of tables scattered inside, along with the outside option. The beer, solid! Love all their "clear beer" (West Coast style) offerings, but was surprised to see a few hazy beers and a very large selection of sours/wild ales. Something I did not know they had, but can't wait to check out sometime. This is definitely another local brewery I will return to, especially with their large tap selection and cold cans/bottles. Another local brewery putting Oakland on the craft beer map!

M J.

Yelp
There are many outstanding beers at ghost town but I have Mixed emotions. . Delicious and large selection of IPAs to choose from. However, the head banging music and dark theme was less appealing. I was surprised and disappointed that many of the sours were only available in $19 bottles. The uninviting interior and loud music did not make it an option to sit inside so forced to drink on the street
google avatar

Brenton M.

Yelp
It's a bummer. I used to love the beer selection here because it was different and diverse. Now there are two full menus that are almost all IPAs. Do we really need 12 IPAs?? Bring back the malt!
google avatar

Sigrid W.

Yelp
This is definitely a fun place. I absolutely loved the skull themed decoration motif. All outdoor seating in a kind of beer garden was lovely on a warm Saturday evening. The food was quite good, the beer I tried was excellent, the music playing on the speakers also added nicely to the ambience. There were also a surprising number of families with small children and even babies enjoying the Ghost Town. I hope to visit this place again.

Yelp
Beer = delicious. Lots of good West Coast IPA options, which we love. Service = very mediocre. Bartenders texting while I was ordering and then again while checking out. Good thing the beer was really good. Atmosphere was weird.

Yelp
Cool spot to hang out and grab a beer. Super easy to find street parking outside on a Friday night. We parked right in front. The area itself is a little bit dark and we were surprised that the brewery was here. But the inside is incredibly spacious well-lit and has awesome decoration. There's a game area in the back with foosball and several pinball machines. Two of the pinball machines were broken but we played on one of the other two that were still working and it was a fun time. They had three bartenders serving beer and ample selection of light beers and darker offerings in the realm of stouts and porters. The ABV ranges from anywhere to 5% to 14%. I had their sour offerings and didn't really enjoy any of them. They tasted more like kettle sours with a tinny taste without a great depth the flavor. I don't remember the name of the one I had but it was the strawberry rhubarb beer and I didn't finish it. Their dark beer offerings are wayyyy better. They have a stout that's 14% ABV but didn't taste like it at all it was super easy going down. TOO easy!! The boyfriend had 3 of them. I had another hazy that was tasty so I can recommend their hazy beers also. This place is dog friendly so bring your four-legged friends as well as your two legged friends!

Yelp
Great IPA,cool venue, but indoors only but understandable, in this part of town. The beer quality alone is worth a visit .

Meredith D.

Yelp
Awesome selection of beer and rad atmosphere. The service/ staff are friendly and knowledgeable

RoSe V.

Yelp
Terrible service! If your ethnicity is not white don't bother going they won't service you. Place was empty.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
If you want IPA, porter or something sour, then you would be satisfied. Their selection of beers are really kinda limited. Burgers and cauliflower are really the best part of eating there. Also, they require masks in the taproom even though there is no county requirement during this period of time.
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
Great beer and large space so easy to find a table. Food was overpriced. $18 for a chicken sandwich cooked outside on a mini grill - I'll pass. Worst part of the experience was their speaker system. Death metal blasting over blown out speakers makes for a quick headache. Probably will stick with Drakes as usual.

Vincent M.

Yelp
Good beer in a dog friendly, spacious location that works indoors and outdoors. Bike racks inside!

Cathy B.

Yelp
If you enjoy a great variety of beer this is the place!!! Definitely will go there again!

Gladys R.

Yelp
Their loyal food truck's food is DELICIOUS! The burritos and tortas always hit the spot with a beer! This brewery is big, spacious, dark ambiance but very welcoming for ALL people! The beer is really good, I love IPAs and this spot has a variety! Their beer is everywhere because it's that good. I recommend the inhume!
google avatar

Murph B.

Yelp
Best IPAs around, they have been killing it for years, they have two locations. They are both great, this one is rough outside, just because of the neighborhood not the business.

Yelp
In a pocket of West Oakland dead space between Downtown Oakland and the Maze or bridge toll entrance towards San Francisco, Ghost Town Brewing is perfectly located allowing for plenty of parking and locals to go to a neighborhood bar. There are plenty of conversation pieces here: lots of crew workers end their shifts and discuss what they saw; hipsters who can afford the cheaper rent discuss abstract art and its relevance in the post millenial tik tok era; historians reflect on how Former Co-Founder and Blank Panther activist Huey P. Newton was shot to death just 10 blocks away on 10th and Center; workers and coworkers complaining about who kissed whose bum or is kissing someone's tush at that very moment on the other table, consultants float around like vultures trying to unobtrusively gather data from managers they hope get tipsy enough to reveal cracks and flaws in their business paradigm, the occasional vagrant rants belligerently or gossipers chirp like manic sparrows about who did what to who. Most importantly, there is a lot of good humored laughing everywhere and the vibe of this place makes you open up and be yourself making this a very good oasis social exchange between individuals with their guards down. As of now that quaint naïveté is still there which will hopefully sustain for a long time. What makes this place special is that although it is a brewery, the prices are very good. For as little as $3, you will be able to get a 16 oz glass of decent lager. They offer the crappy Pale Ales (never liked them), a decent selection of darker beers (the Porter at 6.6% alcohol is very good and only costs $5 for 16 oz), and offer some more expensive choices for those who think they are connoisseurs. There is even a stronger ale, like them Belgian Ales, that is over 11% alcohol infused. What I also like about this place is the space. Outside appears dainty. But when you walk in, it could've once been an airplane hangar!!! Surprisingly spacious: you won't be able to spit upwards and hit the ceiling (trust me, I tried more than once--long story ). I could see this place one day having concerts unless they are adjacent to residents which might quash that great idea. Food wise, the area is lacking and only has a Mexican food truck which sells tacos, Tortas, nachos and tacos. It's decent pub grub but the perfect scenario would be five or six food trucks of various specialties parked outside. The result is a very long line to order and long wait to have your order ready. I strongly recommend, you buy a burrito or whatever you like before you arrive to avoid drinking on an empty stomach. This late June 2021 Thursday was my first visit here and I really enjoyed myself in my first indoor post pandemic gathering in over 16 months. Cannot wait to come back here. The staff are super cool. There have been complaints about the service: I completely disagree and I am not a bot paid to say that. Do come here and if you see me, show me this post on your smart device and I'll buy you a round!

Yelp
Mixed feelings... I LOVE the beer, really enjoy the death theme with metal music and gargoyles around, but the service has been disappointing. The manager came across very condescending and patronizing one day, and the next visit was less interested in serving me while I waited in line (alone) while she and three others tossed down a beer together, no regard to customers ready to pay for the beer that they were seemingly pounding for free. To top it off, she was wearing a shirt with a cop being assassinated. People can have whatever view they want, but workers are representing the business, and I can't get behind a business that supports that. So hopefully the owners fix the service so we feel more welcomed to visit and support the local brewery. If not, then there are plenty of other breweries popping up in the Bay Area to support. But fingers crossed because I really love their beer! :)

Yelp
Great space, so many choices, and the taco truck is to die for. It's a spooky good time. Really appreciate the capacity and space inside.

Jefalote S.

Yelp
Outstanding beer, nonchalant staff, tinny sound system, morbid playlist could use a dose of joy.

Yelp
OPEN during COVID-19, 12-6pm daily Must order and pay online, they do not take walk-in orders. They also offer Home Delivery $5 on certain days depending on city - refer to their website as they may change. You can order single cans but they are direct from the tap, which means you loose the can art :) Been brewery picking up during these shelter in place days and I've noticed that Ghosttown needs to work on their pick up system. It was quite confusing for me when I arrived because there were a few people in line but a the same time a few off to the sides on the sidewalk. Without even thinking, my innate nature told me to line up. Then the dude in front of me told me that I had to text or call so they know I arrived! (Ain't that the whole purpose of ordering ahead online?) Then "cut" the line to read the tiny sign sign on the board with such instructions. But no one would have really thought to read that since it's civilization to get in line! So if you are ordering from Ghosttown for pick-up just make sure you call or text 510-359-7320 when you arrive. Then they will scream out your name while you wait in a non-formed cluster while keeping 6ft away from each other.

Pete B.

Yelp
Great beers. I'm disturbed to see the comments about service. I've never witnessed that. But I have been given a "hard time" twice in the last year ordering a flight of beer by one of the lady's behind the counter. They weren't busy either time (no one in line). I may reach out to the owner or I may just let it go until it happens a 3rd time. it's been the same server each time. Not sure if she's lazy, just doesn't like me or what. I will say this. ALL of their beers are my favorite. Thats why I order flights. To sample many of their great beers. The vibe is chill and dogs are welcome here which is nice.
google avatar

Zeke L.

Yelp
I tried the Geisterfaust. While the can is intimidating the beer poured out with light color. Nice foam head. At 5.6% it tasted very cool and refreshing with a bit of tang. Better than a Bud Light. Very fresh and crisp. Also it's made in Oakland which 8s in the SF Bay Area and thus gets more love. I say drink some.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Love their beers. Plenty of street parking. Dog friendly. Has corn hole. Great place for a group.

Zed Z.

Yelp
Came here last week to get a burger from smack burgers there burgers smack so hard! I also ended up getting a beer aswell. Nice staff and solid selection of beers. Place is huge from inside and they also have outdoor seating. Parking is rough but I'm not tripping had to park down the streeet no parking lots only street parking. I'll be back to grab a beer whenever I'm near by.

Yelp
Oakland is brewing up a lot of beer these days and recently checked out the new Ghost Town Brewing Taproom in Oakland. The warehouse space is really nice and spacious with different types of seating for small or larger groups. When trying out a new brewery these days, I like to have one or two there and buy a couple bottles or growler fill for home. That way I get the experience of going to the brewery and also enjoying craft beer in my own home. Love Ghost Town Brewing company and their beer, check them out.

Yelp
Found Ghost Town through a recommendation from the taptender at Hoi Polloi (good brews recognize each other)! We love that Ghost Town is a huge warehouse. We saw SO many large groups there--families, kids, etc. They have a rustic and industrial vibe that makes you feel like you're in a large pirate shop (that's clean) with their darker tones and chrome fixes. Restrooms are clean, and they have tons of board games. Serve-yourself water too, and brewery-favorites like cornhole and barrels as standing tables. Onto the beers! We both got tasters, 4 for $10--the standard price it seems, right now in the Bay. I had such a difficult time picking which tasters I wanted. There were so many hazy IPA's, so I pretty much went with all of the hazies and some pilsner to keep it clean and not too hoppy on my palette. ALL of their beers were so delicious! I wish I could have had time to get little skoshes before picking my tasters, but there were only two AMAZING women behind the bar, and a long line to the tap, so I believe everyone was doing their duty as a good beer-aritan and getting orders in and out. I wish their menu (digital!) also had little adjectives by the side, so beer-goers could get a basic idea of what differs between one hazy IPA from the other. But that's just me being picky. Great spot! Good hangs. Tasty beers.

Rudy S.

Yelp
Blue hair girl is not friendly. She had a terrible attitude and my friends and I felt like we were bothering her by asking to see clothing items. If you can avoid her, do it. The beer is great which is why we come back but the service isn't.
google avatar

Adam D.

Yelp
We had been meaning to go here for months. Glad we finally did. They started brewing in 2012 and opened this taproom in March of this year. Their beers are really great and true-to-style. We opted for Grim Reaper New England Hazy IPA, Blanc Double IPA brewed with Sauvignon Blanc juice, and Lecherous New England Hazy IPA. All three were excellent. The space is really nice with open modern decor. There was also a food popup but we didn't partake. The staff was nice to talk to as well. We will definitely return.
google avatar

Gerald H.

Yelp
Great brewery in Berkeley with lots of open space. Great IPAs with some great artwork. This place for Hazy and West Coast IPAs. The place itself is just a great chill place to have a beer among great folks. Order for curbside pick up available during this COVID crisis.

Yelp
As described by one of the bartenders, Ghost Town Brewing is a hip new bar "conceptualized by dudes, birthed by dudes, and decorated by dudes." GTB is located in an old, repurposed warehouse that was reportedly once a coffin factory - hence the coffin-and-cross-themed decor and sweatshirts (which I will hopefully own one day). The walls are painted dark red and black, the lighting is dim, and the ceilings are super high. The back of the bar is filled with brewing machinery, steel barrels, and casks (not to be confused with caskets) of beer. Heavy metal plays rages in the background while 19 beers are served on tap. Staff is super nice and will give recommendations based on your preferences. Samples are generously given - try the Cat Hoarder porter (actually made with chocolate and milk!), the "Scumbag" cream ale (see: beer by dudes, for dudes), and the Foreign Object stout - at 7%, you won't need many of these to lose sloppily at foozball. There's a table in the back where you can try your hand, sober or sloshed! Dogs, pink hair, and outside food allowed.

Yelp
Awesome 3 month old brewery. Came here with a group of friends on a Sunday, each with a Groupon - $19 for 2 pints and a 64 oz growler (other options available as well). Unfortunately, they ran out of growlers so we were given 2-32 oz crowlers for any 2 beers aside from nitros. Great deal still 19 beers on tap. They had pretty much every type of beer: hazy ipa, DIPA, pale ale, cream ale, sour, stout, porter, nitros, etc. Theres something for everyone. I liked practically every beer I tried and that does not happen often. Beers were cheap too. Anywhere from $3-5 for a 10 or 16 oz pour (depending on how strong). Most were 16 oz though. Growler fills were $10-20, +$5 for the growler itself. No food truck when we went, but they were selling grilled cheese sandwiches on the side. No other food was available. Service was good. Beertenders were more than happy to let us sample before we purchased. Very spacious inside with a ton of seating, cornhole, foosball, board games, a large projector for sports. Plenty of street parking. I found my new favorite east bay brewery. Can't wait to go back

Yelp
Super chill beer hall in West Oakland. For me the Hail Saison and Cat Hoarder Porter were the standouts. Dog and baby/toddler friendly. Foosball, cornhole, and projector for sports and movies. Loads of indoor bike parking. The night we went there was a food truck outside for dinner, but the truck was cash only.

Yelp
Like most of the breweries that are getting ever so popular around the bay area, Ghost Town also has it all. Large tasting room that's inviting, board games, indoor bike racks, pin ball machines, family and dog friendly...and most importantly, solid beer selection. You can sample/taste a couple of beers before you make your selection... lots of fun names and descriptions too. The neighborhood is a little sketch, so make sure you don't leave any valuables visible in your car unless you want a broken window (this statement goes for anywhere around the bay area now a days). Looking forward to coming back with the family.

Yelp
Excellent beer, that unfortunately (for me) leans heavily on IPAs: 10 different versions of essentially the same thing. It's like breakfast cereal. But the kidz like 'em I guess. However, their malty ales, when they deign to brew them, are among the best I've had. And I've had a lot since I'm old and an alcoholic. The sours are fantastic. The prices are reasonable for us that don't make $100k/year. The music is great. Lots of tables. Taco truck that's excellent. Some hot babez working there too.
