So many Italian restaurants in the area but few have the charm and family like feel that Giannis has.
I went for the first time on a recent Monday. It was very busy. On a Monday! Guess that tells you something about this place that's been serving up great Italian food for years.
We were seated by the front door- although as many people come in the back door- I guess it just depends on where you park. Our server, Kelly, was over in a flash, just the kind of personable, friendly server you'd like to have pull up a chair and join you for dinner. She knew her stuff, rattled off her favorites and was off to bring us our well poured drinks.
The rolls that they put on each table are worthy of their own review. The garlic and butter just drips off these warm caloric bombs! And just picking one up and feeling the heft of dough and butter and you know you are in for something delicious!
For my entree, while they had a range of daily specials, I went with the veal parmesan and my friend had the penne pasta with chicken. Both were tasty, but huge portions and by the time we ate that amazing roll, had 1/2 of the calamari appetizer and ate our salads, we got about two bites of the entree in before asking for a "to go" box. But let me tell you, the food was just as delicious the next day.
Prices are reasonable- the bottle of Josh Cab that we had was $41 and our entire bill for two came to $178 which included a couple of drinks, appetizer, two entrees and a bottle of wine which seemed reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food we got.
This is a little off of my beaten path but given the great service, food and homey ambiance, you can bet I'll find my way back soon!
