Gino’s NY Pizza Bar offers late-night slices and a killer pasta menu in a casual, retro setting where the pizza shines brightest amidst the lively crowd.
"This casual, counter service spot on Cheshire Bridge has nostalgic black- and white-checkered tablecloths, a giant menu, and is conveniently open until 6am on weekends. All of their pies are available in single slices and are under $4, so consider Gino's the late-night move when decision-making is hard (or when otherwise incapacitated) and you need to create your own pizza buffet. Must-gets include an amazing lasagna slice with a rich meat sauce and melty mozzarella and the tasty garlicky white slice with mounds of ricotta. But all of Gino's slices are worth a taste, even the Sicilian slice that’s thick, rectangular, and weighed down with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese. " - nina reeder, juli horsford
"Open Until: 6am, Sat.-Sun. 4am, Mon.-Thu. Gino’s NY Pizza Bar is open ‘til 6am on weekends and 4am every other night, and damn do we love them for it. The giant menu has decent sandwiches and pasta dishes, but the pizza is what Gino’s is best at. Plus, all of their pies are available as single slices so you can try a few specialties without having to fully commit to a whole pie. Snag a classic cheese and a slice of lasagna pizza with a rich meat sauce and melty mozzarella cheese from the order counter and head to the patio, which has its own bar. The late-night crowd here is always a mixed bag, especially when poker folks migrate in from next door's The Blind Tiger. But who can blame them because after a bar crawl or a graveyard shift, we’d bet it all for a slice of Gino’s. " - juli horsford, nina reeder
"This Cheshire Bridge pizzeria is very old school. They have a giant menu, classic black and white checkered tablecloths, and counter service, where you'll be referred to as “hon.” But if you show up when the Buckhead clubs let out and the poker players from next door's Blind Tiger take over, then that “hon” comes through in a "take no sh*t" tone. So, do yourself a favor and know exactly what you want. While sandwiches and pasta dishes are decent, skip them and head straight for the pizza because it’s what Gino’s is best at. All of their pies are available as single slices. The must-gets are the lasagna slice with a rich meat sauce and melty mozzarella cheese and the garlicky white slice with mounds of ricotta. For pizza lunch or a late-night slice (since they’re open ‘til 6am on weekends), Gino’s is always a clutch option. photo credit: Sarah Newman photo credit: Sarah Newman" - Juli Horsford
"Chicago deep dish chain Gino’s East Pizza opened in Poncey-Highland at the end of 2018, and now it seems that the restaurant has closed. An Eater Atlanta tipster says they saw multiple moving trucks outside the 675 North Highland Avenue address. According to the tip, a team moved out restaurant equipment and signs were coming down. Gino’s barely made it five months in Atlanta. Eater Atlanta reached out to Gino’s East Pizza for more details, but the phone goes straight to a generic automated voicemail message. Google lists the restaurant as “Permanently Closed.” The Gino’s East Pizza Facebook page is gone. Yelp, which listed Gino’s open earlier today, now lists the establishment closed and a commenter remarks that a prominent manager was recently fired from the pizzeria. The Atlanta restaurant is also noticeably absent from the list of Gino’s locations on its website. The original Gino’s East opened in Chicago in 1966 offering the city’s signature deep dish pizza. Gino’s has locations throughout metro Chicago and in Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona, and Mexico City." - Erin Perkins
