The 16 Best Restaurants In Newport, Rhode Island - Newport - The Infatuation

"Giusto is an upbeat and buzzy American spot that’s all about the tasting menu—it has all of the quality of a place like Castle Hill, but with flavors and a price tag that are far more accessible. Think dishes like shaved brussels sprout caesar salad (we love that it’s served warm), or their super savory scotch meatball made for sharing. Unlike other fine dining spots, where the service borders on stuffy, the staff here are as friendly as they are knowledgeable. Grab a seat with a view at the bar, or a quiet table overlooking the open kitchen, where chefs are bustling to finish your mussels topped with calabrian chili pepper (which will practically melt on your tongue)." - danielle rose, carlo mantuano

Absolutely fabulous. We live just outside Washington DC and have a few Michelin-star restaurants. Giusto is better. We had the Black Bass Crudo with kiwi and yuzu (amazing), the Japanese Eggplant, fruit di mare Bucatini and the Mushroom Agnolotti (wow), followed by the Coconut Lime dessert - all with a great Italian white wine. An amazing experience, with fabulous service a wonderful view of Newport harbor. Thank you, Chef and all the staff at Giusto!

It's not the first time I've visited Italian restaurants in America, but this one conveys the real flavors of Italian cuisine. And as a person who traveled to Italy, I want to say with confidence that they conveyed the flavors of Italy. The dishes we ordered were extremely tasty. The desserts also turned out to be very good. The waitress was very attentive to our requests, she knew everything about the dishes we were interested in and according to her recommendations we were able to enjoy our dinner. Therefore, they not only cook deliciously here, but also have the highest level of service. I recommend this restaurant 100%.

The food was incredibly delicious!! We were blown away! The service was just as amazing — our waitress was so warm and friendly 😊 My husband said it was the best Italian food he's ever tasted in his life! 😍🍝 The only downside was the long wait — it took quite a while for the food to arrive, and there was a big gap between the appetizer and the main course. But overall, it was absolutely worth it!

Giusto’s is simply delicious. Hugo, our bartender, was amazing and so knowledgeable/helpful when it came to our dishes. His Strawberry cocktail was awesome and so well balanced. For appetizers we got the scallop crudo, Scottish meatballs & the Johnnycakes, ALL so delicious! The pasta dishes were so creative & flavorful. The littleneck pasta was one of the most flavorful dishes I’ve ever had. You can tell the chefs are so passionate about their food they make and the ingredients they use. As an Italian, I appreciate that they use authentic Italian ingredients. They also have their own pastry chef who makes out of this world desserts. We tried the orange tart & the cheesecake, absolutely delicious. Hugo was a true professional & made our experience perfect. Cannot wait to come back and try their ever changing delicious menu.

Again another wonderful evening & meal . I decided to treat & celebrate my birthday here. This is one of my favorite restaurants. This is not your typical Italian restaurant but definitely lives up to the name free style. The food is still as good & very consistent. I started with the grilled white asparagus salad which was served with a nasturtium fondue which was lovely., along with the flowers & leaves. For my entree I was fortunate to have the tonnarelli pasta served with a green garlic sauce , littleneck clams & gremolata. This dish is only available early spring when the garlic plants are young & the bulbs are in their early stages green in color. The flavor is mild with a hint of sweetness. What a flavor & compliments the pasta & clams. This dish was recognized in 2024 as one of the top 24 dishes in the US by the New York Times Culinary Team. It is divine. I have always been pleased with the food here. The staff are very friendly & knowledgeable. The restaurant has a nice view of Newport Harbor.

Google
An excellent choice for a birthday dinner! The food and drinks were out of this world. The vibe was beautiful and customer service was second to none. We messed up the reservation process but they accommodated us anyways. Please, please, please check out the Freestyle Tasting Menu; You get 7 courses to taste the chef's seasonal work. Don't let the small portions fool you, this was more than enough food for all 5 of us. Each dish plays on the last one, and I am sure that was on purpose. The ravioli took first place for me. I couldn't put my finger on the flavor but they were bright, tender, and just a touch of sweet. Second place was the salad; a squash salad that also have a brightness to it. Go grab your button up shirt, a nice pair of boots, and head over to Giusto! I also need to find this artwork.

Absolutely loved our experience at Giusto! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The food was creative, fresh, and full of flavor — every dish we tried was delicious, especially the handmade pasta and crudo. The cocktails were amazing too, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The waterfront views made the whole evening even more special. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Newport — can’t wait to come back!

Google
Giusto may be the best restaurant in New England at the moment. I can't stop recommending this place and had to write a review. The service is top notch (Ethan was great, the Sommnelier, Stacey?, was so so kind), the food is aces (the seasonal Caesar is a stunner, the berbere sauce in the pasta is so good, the oysters - fresh, the burger - divine) , the drinks are mouth wateringly good (Castefelder White A+), and I could go on and on. This is what food should taste like. We did the tasting menu back in December and came here for lunch this past Saturday and once again it was like catching lightning in a bottle. Reservations are highly recommended, just go - its a good time! Cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
Giusto is a great spot for some delicious Italian tapas. The scallop crudo, tomato and peach salad and the ravioli were all delicious. The fried calamari with squid ink is very unique so would recommend trying that. Our server was awesome, he knew his stuff, gave solid recommendations. He was a young Asian-ish looking guy (I want to give him a shoutout, and I wish I remembered his name).

Yelp
The food is really not good here and I'm honestly shocked at the positive reviews. Of the five dishes we ordered one was good and rest was inedible. First I have to say the serving size is on the small side . We started out with mussel appetizers and when it came out I was shocked because the mussels were out of the shell and it was served cold. I've never had mussels served this way before but we are pretty adventurous so we had an open mind. I start eating it and the flavor combination did not sit well with me and few of the mussels were bad (not fresh) and I had to spit them out because it had a foul taste. I stopped eating after that. We then had the meatballs and this was good but only one meat ball cut in half was served. Then we had scallop crudo and the flavor combination was so awful. It just didn't go together at all, was bland and again the scallop I had was not fresh and had to spit it out Then we got the Caesar salad and what we got was squash with Caesar dressing and bread crumbs. We took few bites and stopped eating because it just was not tasty. We left majority of the salad on the plate and had them take it away. The last dish, pasta, we waited like 30 minutes for the dish, I'm not sure why it should take that long to come out after the last appetizer was served but it was getting frustrating. And when I asked the waitress she just said she talked to the chef. And my reaction internally was "and?" Shouldn't she say, "I'm really sorry for the wait, I just spoke to the chef and it shouldn't take too long. ". Just those words would have made me feel whole lot better and that she was taking care of me as a customer but all she said was I just spoke to the chef and walked away. The last pasta dish came out finally and it just lacked any flavor and it was supposed to have seafood but there was no visible signs of any seafood. I took one bite and stopped eating because there was no flavor and at this point I was done. The waitress came by and asked about the pasta. My husband was trying to be nice and said it doesn't agree with us. And she said "oh it doesn't agree with you, well I guess I need to comp that dish for you. ". I do appreciate the gesture but there was no genuine concern for us and rather it felt like more of annoyance. I just felt like the whole night was just a bad experience and left hungry and completely dissatisfied and sadly I will not be returning to this establishment.

Yelp
The place is beautiful and situated on the new commercial wharf. My first visit with my friends were good back in Aug 2023. Didn't remember to write a review but what was memorable was the ricotta frittelle, scotch meatball, and the street corn ravioli. Today, we had time before our dinner reservation at another restaurant. So we decided to grab drinks at the bar since their online menu said they had a cream stout. Note that the menu isn't up to date and they don't carry all the drinks or the food you see there. Was a bit disappointed but we were there already. We sat at the beautiful bar (nice wrap around). Hugo served us and he made me a sweet mojito and a espresso martini for my 2nd round. My husband had the Me Duele La Cabeza. It was spicy in a good way if you like it spicy. Not a taste for everyone though. Husband asked him to make him something with gin and essences of pineapple. Whatever it was called, it was delicious (from last menu rotation). It had basil syrup, lemon, and almond liquor or so. Very unique mix. We weren't going to order food but still ended up getting the ricotta frittelle and its so good. The truffle, parm, and honey combination, yum! Overall, we definitely would be back and enjoy the delicious drinks and snacks at the bar. Thanks Hugo for the delicious drinks tonight!

Yelp
Finally made it, and it lived up to the hype. Shared all the plates. Favorite was of course the scotch egg.

Yelp
Amazing food & cocktails. service, and ambiance. My husband and I came there for lunch. We loved it there so much that we went back for dinner the same day. Food wise: - For lunch, we shared the fried calamari with quid ink tempura, which had a very unique and rich flavor profile. I had the casarecce pasta with pork ragu for entree and it was excellent. - For dinner, the duck leg entree with roasted carrots was done excellently. My favorite dish of the night was the dessert - milk chocolate honey gelato with sesame honeycomb; such nuanced and complex depth of flavor and texture. It is one I will be thinking about. - Only critique is that the Caesar salad with Brussel sprout was too salty. Overall, this has been our favorite restaurant in Newport. Would absolutely go back again any day!

Yelp
Dined here on our first night in Newport and had a really nice dining experience. Una was our server and she was very thorough. She was very patient with my indecision around what to drink... and allowed tastings and suggestions. Very nice looking restaurant with a wonderful view of the connected harbor. Too bad that it was super foggy and dreary that we missed what I'm sure would've been an awesome sunset experience. Apps: baked mussels- these were extremely small, but tasty enough fried calamari - such a different take in the coating, which was a squid ink tempura- interesting touch, but it worked very well as a base for the capers and cherry peppers My entree: prosciutto agnolotti- one of the best pasta dishes I've had, everything was perfect, except the portion size Dessert: zabaglione- some of the best gelati that I've had in my life! So much so that I had to return the night before to take some to go! Thanks, Libby! She's such a gem. Cocktail: The Fawlty Tippler was a beautiful drink. The almond complimented all of the other flavors.. would definitely try again.

Yelp
Giusto is so pretty and airy and modern, overlookimg the water with a nice breeze - a nice break from the touristy part of town. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was funny and charming. Split the tuna tartare, so bright and pretty with a green goddess theme and toasted quinoa. Then the suppli al telefono, fried and filled the warm runny cheese. Delicious! And then our favorite, the scallop carpaccio with miso and lots of umi. So good. A pretty place for a cocktail and light bar food at sunset.

Yelp
I could rave about this place all day. One of the best and unique cocktails I've ever had - the "caprese my name" cocktail. Made with vodka, pasta water, tomato, and basil. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it was amazing. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and small plates and the bartenders were amazing and extremely nice. We would recommend the scotch meatball and of course the oysters! Can't wait to come back and stay for dinner.

Yelp
Took a day trip to Newport to celebrate our anniversary and was excited to try Giusto's tasting menu! We made reservations for an early dinner on a Saturday and it was already pretty lively. We were seated in the covered patio with a nice view of the water. It was a lovely space away from the busyness of the main dining area, but the sun was pretty strong at times. The different courses came out at a good pace, with my favorite being the pasta. They also surprised us with complimentary mocktails for our anniversary, which was sweet of them. I would definitely come back for their tasting menu and to enjoy a great meal by the water!

Yelp
Giusto is a culinary adventure for your taste buds. At first I was intimidated because I wasn't familiar with some of the ingredients in the dishes but my Chef Brother always said "just try it the way the chef intended". He also vouched for Giusto. Man he was correct. Flavor explosions and combinations that are amazing. Delicate tastes yet comforting and familiar. Love their play on the scotch egg. The sauce reminds me of the pasta fagouli my family makes. Their pastas are homemade and the seasonal Cesar is always creative. Definitely go and enjoy, you won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere on the wharf and personable service. We love Katie!

Yelp
We booked this in advance for our off season anniversary dinner and we naturally did the tasting menu. My hubz must have put anniversary in the reservation because they greeted us with a "happy anniversary" at check in and complimentary champagne once seated. We read in advance that this tasting menu was unconventional in flavor pairings, and it was that for sure... and also soooo delicious. Our server was amazing (I wish I knew her name to specifically complement), but we talked about traveling Italy and Cinque Terre... she made our special dinner a really awesome experience. Tasting menu with the drink pairing is the way to go. Thanks for a dinner to remember.

Yelp
We decided to visit for brunch and were immediately struck by the restaurant's beautiful interior, complete with a cozy enclosed patio warmed by heaters. Our server was friendly and gladly walked us through the menu offerings. The fluke crudo was adorned with delightful strawberry and balsamic accents, though the fluke itself had a very fishy aftertaste. The grilled octopus was one of our favorites of the meal, with its tender texture and the flavorful punch of butter beans, creating a well-balanced dish that left us impressed. While we wished the maltagliati pasta was a bit more al dente, the dish was still very comforting. It also came with delicious homemade, complimentary bread. The local rotating fish of the day was fluke. The fish was well cooked and tasty. We were a bit disappointed by how long each course took to come out, though overall, our dining experience was enjoyable.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Newport, absolutely no contest. Every time I go I get the tasting menu, which is 7 courses for $55. It's an absolute steal for what you get. The chef there is an actual genius. When I die, I want to be buried in their sweet corn ravioli. It's probably the best thing I have tasted all summer. Their caprese martini was also delicious, but honestly everything there is. With the tasting menu, you never know what you're going to get, yet I've never disliked a single item. My partner can be a little picky and even he loved each dish! The service was also amazing. Our waitress (I forget her name but I think it started with an M), frequently gave us clean plates and silverware. She was super friendly and attentive. I could go on and on about how much I love this place, but I'll stop now.

Yelp
An unexpected Sunday lunch! Giusto excelled today on a quiet Sunday lunch. We settled in for a cosy lunch on their heated outdoor patio. This was our third time here. We had cocktails and moved straight into appetizers. The format here is small shared plates with slightly larger mains. Everything is delicious and really well executed from the kitchen team!!! Highlights scotch egg snack & the duck main. Great wines by the glass. Our very charming waiter Ethan ensured we chose the best wine to suit our dishes. I'm very happy we are locals and we will be back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid spot, starting with the beautiful views and cozy decor. We went on a Sunday at lunch and were surprised by how little busy it was. The food was amazing, albeit small portions. The coffee, while very strong, was some of the best I've had in a restaurant. Would return

Yelp
We were lucky enough to attend a rehearsal dinner at Guisto, and the food and service were fantastic. The restaurant has a spacious bar with a great selection of liquors. The bartender made a great margarita. We were seated on the back patio, which had some clear tarps blocking the cold rainy weather. It was comfortable. The highlights of the food included: the fried ricotta balls, the grilled summer squash, the mushroom pasta, and the chicken. The pasta was so good, and everyone was talking about how that was the favorite dish. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Newport.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
Food is amazing, along with the service & atmosphere. I have to say this is one of the best restaurant on the island & the state. I have dined here a few times and have always been impressed. The food is creative & not your typical Italian food. But the flavors just melt in your mouth. Watching the kitchen staff ( open kitchen) definitely demonstrates their attentiveness to detail . It's such a relaxing attention & you are never rushed. The flavors definitely excites ones palate. I was still thinking how much I enjoyed my meal the next day. I ordered the crispy polenta with mushroom Sugo. For the main meal it was Lumache pasta with scallops, squid & mussels in a tomato sauce top with crispy bits of squid ink which added a nice saltiness to the dish. Definitely free style Italian food. If you're looking for Italian American cuisine Spaghetti & meatballs, this is not for you. This is way better.

Yelp
Incredible! Amazing! Spectacular! We are visiting for a continuing medical education conference and we were looking for a local dinner treat. Well this met our expectations and beyond! Service was exceptional! That's always a must for me no matter my opinion on the food. Service is important and despite how busy they were, they gave great service. Parking not easy to find but that whole area is hard to find parking. We went in late April so no charge for parking at this time. Ambiance was great. Food was the main show and was delicious. There is the option to do a freestyle tasting menu for $55.00 a person which is a great price, but we wanted to do our own version of the tasting menu because we wanted to try a bit of everything. 1. Started with the local oysters. When in the east coast have to take advantage of the oysters/seafood. Personally east coast oysters are my favorite. They have just the right amount of brininess. These were tasty and did not disappoint. 2. Baked mussels: Calabrian chili butter, breadcrumbs and lemon. Tasty. 3. Fluke crudo: strawberry, white balsamic, pink peppercorn! Amazing! My favorite dish of the night. Not only beautifully presented but also tasty. Get it! 4. Black bass crudo: aguachile negro, onion. Tasty! 5. Lumache: fava bean, guanciale, pecorino. Great pasta. Loved it. However I did wish it had a tad bit more guanciale. First time having fava beans and good tasty addition to the pasta. 6. Wild Harmony Pork Loin: English pea, RI mushroom, smoked hay brodo. Pork was made warm pink which is the way I like it (should be made like that lol). Delicious ! 7. Honey cloud dessert: my favorite of the two but both tasty. Rhubarb compote, honey cloud cookie, honey cremeaux. To die for! Loved it. 8. Zabglione gelato: almond brown butter crumble. Loved the texture of the crumble and gelato. Tasty. We shared all these plates. Wonderful experience. Definitely recommend. If you are visiting Newport or are from Newport and haven't experienced this lovely dining experience, do it!

Yelp
Great vibes here. I had a French 75 and the bartender also made me something special bc I said I loved mezcal. I tried the ricotta fritelle and it was incredible- basically deep fried ricotta balls with a drizzle of maple honey. They came out HOT and amazing. I also tried their signature scotch meatball - so delicious and filling. Hugo the bartender was great - service was top notch. Great new spot in Newport!

Yelp
Ok so full disclosure I had drinks and small plates here. This place is a solid 3 1/2 to 4 stars. The staff is friendly, the establishment is clean, and it's trendy. I had the calamari and the Ricotta Frittelle. I was the DD for friends but their drinks looked great and they gave them great reviews. The Calamari was salty but fun with the charcoal batter. The Ricotta Frittelle stole the show with good flavor and texture. I saw someone say they would have this for their last meal so I had to try it. It is great as a side or starter dish but not a last meal. One of my meal mates also got the beef cheeks and I was happy to try it. Very good but also a little salty. If the kitchen controls their salt these would be great dishes. Not sure if I'll go back but not completely disappointed with the experience. Our waitress was helpful.
google avatar

Rachel V.

Yelp
Great ambience and our waitress was fantastic! However, the food was average and expensive. I was put at a table outside with a view of the port. It was dark, but I bet at sunset it's amazing.

Yelp
Recently had a fabulous dinner here. Top notch food, good service and cool ambiance. Definitely recommend and will return for another try

Yelp
I came to Giusto based on a recommendation from our hotel, and it did not disappoint! They take their reservations very seriously, if you don't have one eating at the bar is your only option. The bar seating is slightly competitive but after 5 minutes we were able to snag two seats. The bartender was really sweet and explained a few of the dishes we were curious about. We ordered the snap pea salad, lettuce wraps, local fish and oysters. The snap pea salad was really unique. The local fish of the day was tuna, and it was some of the best tuna I've had. For desert we had the s'mores and sweet cream gelato. Everything was excellent!

Alan D.

Yelp
Although they have great bartenders- very disappointed in the management. Very rude and inconsiderate. Discriminating against well behaved children. Took a chair from our niece age 10 sitting quietly to accommodate one woman - lost 6 repeat customers to accommodate one self entitled woman. Lost our business for good.
google avatar

Robin H.

Yelp
We were a group of six and it was perfect for us. Sat outside on the water. Gorgeous venue! Dinner was delicious. We split two appetizers, the bruschetta and a honey rillette. Not sure the real name but both were yummy! I split the ravioli and swordfish with a friend and we loved both. Topped it off with salted caramel ice cream. Would definitely go back! Service was great too.
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
Highly recommend coming here for drinks and apps! Dinner menu looked good as well but unfortunately we already made plans to go somewhere else after. The bartenders were fast and on top of their game! Very professional and took the time to explain the various items they have! You won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
What makes a restaurant 5 stars to me is food, decor, price, service, ambiance. Giusto hits it out of the park with them all. Usually, for restaurants on the water, I expect New American food or a Bar and Grill type place with an overpriced, unimaginative menu. However, I was wonderfully surprised by Giusto's inventive dishes that were flavorful and light. Notably, I enjoyed dishes that were packed with flavor without relying on excessive amounts of butter or oil. I recommend their tasting course option which was 7 courses: 3 appetizers, 1 salad course, 1 pasta, 1 main, and 1 dessert. Again, all the food was deliciously fresh - seeming to be creations from a talented chef unique to this restaurant. Of note, the fish main course we received was a perfectly-cooked striped bass with crispy skin and tender, flaky meat. The service was also very good as well, with dishes coming in steadily and well-spaced. Dirty dishes and utensil/plate changes were done neatly and efficiently. Lastly, if the weather allows, I would suggest sitting outside. The restaurant is located in a balcony overlooking a marina, and it was very nice to look over many impressive boats. Price for the tasting menu I thought was fair at $55 per person at time of writing. I would definitely return and order a la carte to try some of the other items that stood out to me on the menu. Overall, highly recommend! Book ahead!

Yelp
The food here is really excellent. It's located in the trendiest part of Newport Beach right next to the ocean with an outdoor patio and fire pits at night. They're still getting into the swing of things with the summer season, but were able to make up with a lackluster service experience with some complementary appetizer and dessert. Phil, at the front of the house was really attentive and clearly a seasoned worker at the restaurant. Also, I would ask about the size of the pastas. We ordered what we thought was a pretty hearty pasta dish, and it came out totally nine pieces of pasta in total.

Jessi M.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were incredible tonight. We had an earlier dinner to take in the beautiful weather. We ended up choosing the tasting menu as we thought it was reasonably priced (50/pp) considering the menu is set up tapas/sharing style. So glad we did! Ended up with some on menu and off menu/chef selection courses (7 courses btw which was not too much for 2 people) the Jonas crab wraps and delecata squash Cesar were insane. The pasta chosen for us and the duck (on the menu) were so good and something we wouldn't have ordered. The chef came out to greet us which was a nice treat. They change up their menu every four weeks which is cool and seasonal.

Yelp
Looking for a place where the menu is Inventive yet comfortable with a focus on high quality and local ingredients? Giusto is your place. Had a lovely mid afternoon lunch on a quiet Sunday in November. What a delightful experience! While it was only 2 of us, wished for 2 others only so we could try even more on the menu! Scotch egg? Ewwww I night normally think. Nope! A perfect 3 minute egg Is encrusted in a crunchy shell with an authentic simple tomato sauce. Moist. The seasonal Caesar had no romaine. Just thinly baked sliced yellow squash dressed and finished with more crunch- just breadcrumbs I was told but wow. Next came the the pasta with seafood topped with truffles ( more crunch) 1/2 of which we took home. Finally, the fish special was a tuna caught off Block Island, more truffles, white beans, apricots? And other delights. One of the best tunas I've had. Too full for much more, I had some vanilla gelato with Aperol for desert. I wanted to dig into the incredible Amaro offerings but that will have to be next time. We shared everything including a bottle of wine some of which came home. I started with a tequila based drink that involved sage and ginger; no doubt their bar menu and wine list( all Italian) are exemplary as well. Can't believe it took me this long to try this place. Oh and the service was fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Look forward next time to hanging at the bar and sharing with friends. Newport needed a place like this!

Doreen V.

Yelp
Discriminates against children - We went there because we had a great experience last year, but unfortunately this year Management chose to make a bad decision with taking a seat from our child to accommodate one woman at the bar. Ultimately, they lost six repeat paying customers to accommodate one woman's needs. Too bad.

Yelp
Came here for an anniversary dinner and it was incredible. The host did wish us a happy anniversary which was nice and our waitress was very kind. The inside was stunning and the outside patio was so romantic and has amazing views. The snacks were very small (1-2 bites) so I couldn't justify ordering them for the price. I was slightly disappointed because their online lunch menu had the Nettle Agnolotti so I was excited to order that but it was not on the menu I was given at the restaurant. I ended up ordering the Maltagliati which was the perfect balance of spicy, salty and umami. We also got the Prosciutto Agnolotti which had kiwi on it which made me hesitant to order it, but I'm so glad u did. It was just delicious and the kiwi was the perfect off set to the salty savoriness of the dish. The focaccia like bread they gave with the pasta was so good I had to get a second order. We had to leave in a hurry but the desserts looked fantastic also!

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday at Giuston this past weekend. One of the best meals I've had in a really long time. Incredible food, service, and views of the marina. Frances, our server, went out of her way to make my birthday special! Thank you, Frances!!

Yelp
Overall amazing experience - visiting Newport for the first time as a Los Angeles native (with high expectations) and I was not disappointed! Fresh, delicious food and great hospitality. Street corn ravioli: portioned perfectly since they're very rich in flavor, loved the Calabrian chili sauce as it balanced the sweetness of the corn. Squid ink calamari: like any great calamari, it was crispy on the outside and soft inside - no overcooked rubbery texture. The squid ink does very little to change the flavor of the calamari, don't be intimated to try it! Ricotta frittelle: A warm, fluffy ball of awesomeness. Don't skip on this one. Caesar salad: LOVED the acidity of the dressing and addition of cooked Brussel sprouts. My only gripe was that the portion was too small to share, we were fighting over the last few bites. Millefoglie: Puff pastry layered with pistachio custard and orange marmalade. Perfect for those who want a dessert on the tart side. It was even better with a scoop of ice cream on the side. Ambiance: Upscale but not pretentious - I appreciated the elevated and contemporary design, stepping away from the typical pub/tavern vibe Newport seems to be known for. Would recommend for any occasion: date night, GNO, or family dinner.

Yelp
Loved both the food and ambiance of this restaurant!! Visited here twice this weekend while in town, and sat at the bar, both inside and outside. (NOTE: the high tops outside do not have the full menu, everywhere else does.) The bartenders and manager were very nice and accommodating to us. Over the span of both days, I tried the gramigna (with spicy pork ragu), prosciutto agnolotti (with black mission figs), and the cucumber Caesar salad. The salad was unlike any salad I've ever tasted- really unique flavors (and textures) that were light and refreshing. Both pasta dishes had interesting flavors (that surprisingly blended well together) and the pasta was both fresh and cooked to perfection. The gramigna dish was VERY tasty, had a hefty amount of pork meat, with the right amount of spice. The agnolotti dish was shockingly light (not overfilling), and the figs were the perfect amount of sweetness for the dish. I noticed everyone around me ordered the Scottish egg (their signature dish), I just never got around to it. All of the dishes (snacks, pastas, and plates) are on the smaller side, so I would recommend ordering a few. I really enjoyed all of the food (and drinks) here and would definitely return!!

Yelp
Delightful experience! My friend recommended me this restaurant and told me it's a must visit. We loved the oysters and squid ink pasta. I liked the corn ravioli but it is on the heavier side so although the portion might look small but it is definitely filling. The squid ink calamari is not something we usually see so we tried it as well but if you have to order either the pasta or the calamari, I would choose the pasta! I would come back the next time I visit Newport.

Yelp
Giusto is certainly one of the few really sweet Newport spots - nice welcoming atmosphere to watch the sunset from a comfortable deck with a classy bar. Staff is authentic and friendly. Food is varied and well prepared and presented. It is obvious they want it to be the best. And they're getting there clearly.

Yelp
A great find and unique spot in Newport. Loved the location and ambiance inside. Over looks the water with the some outdoor seating in warmer weather. Did not expect such an interesting menu but was pleasantly surprised. Smaller portions (which is intended and welcomed by me) allowed us to try many different things. If you're looking for big plates this is not your spot, much more a tasting style. Service was top notch across the board. Server and all food runners were knowledgeable and even explained each dish.

Yelp
This place is in a great location with picturesque views. The foot unfortunately is just OK and overpriced

Yelp
Stopped in for dessert and a cocktail. Tim was our server, and made some fantastic recommendations. We had a grapefruit and tequila forward cocktail, and a espresso martini. Desserts were a very unique chocolate cake and a gelato complete with huckleberry and chocolate nibs. Can never miss at giusto, great job

Yelp
Came to Newport for our anniversary weekend. Had dinner here on Thursday night. Our waitress told us about the chef's fixed course dinner and we both opted for that. Every part of the meal was delicious!!! To add to the wonderful experience our waitress was efficient, knowledgeable and very enjoyable to talk with, she was terrific! When we return to Newport we will definitely be back.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant near the water. I enjoyed an early birthday dinner with a friend. The staff was excellent and our server, Emily, was exceptional. We opted for for a surprise chef's choice dinner called a shared meal. We started with watermelon mock-tails and then went on to 7 courses. All the appetizers and main dishes were fantastic. We had lettuce wraps, mozzarella sticks, cheese balls, cucumber salad, tuna, lamb and pasta, and olive oil cake. The cake came with ice cream and a candle. Stop in when in New Port.

Yelp
Came here with great expectations since many reviews were excellent . Overall the staff was very nice , place was lively and buzzing. Located on the waterfront in Newport. Now to the food...my friend and I chose to do the $55 pp chefs choice menu since friends of ours recommended it. Two appetizers, one salad, one pasta, one entree and a dessert. The appetizers were good, (a crab wrap with roasted chickpea and the ricotta fritelle) , the salad of the day was a cucumber caesar (let's agree that cucumbers need all the help they can get since they are pretty tasteless on their own and this salad was not something i would have ordered). The pasta was the Gemelli with pesto and carrots, the pesto overwhelmed the dish and overall pasta was just meh. The main plate was the brisket which was a very small piece to share and was just average. Dessert was a tiny pineapple upside down cake. I realize the chefs tasting menu is small hence the price but my friend and I were not wowed with any of the food. My friend ordered a glass of white wine which arrived warm and we pointed it out to which the waiter replied "I can bring some ice"!? Not sure who puts ice in a $17 glass of white wine, so that was disappointing but the waiter did graciously change it for a cold glass of wine eventually. Overall was a disappointing meal. Don't understand all the rave reviews but we won't be back.

Yelp
Our group did the chef tasting menu with wine pairing and we had a great time. Food was great and service was also great. Cool views too! I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Brunch outside on the deck with some unique flavors and look to their signature dishes made with squid ink. Especially unique and highly recommended are the calamari (made with squid ink) and Scottish meatball (with an egg in the middle with a crispy outside). I always like seeing photos of the food before I order, so I hope this helps you. Oysters were great, medium sized, a little briny with a slight sweetness. Check out the photos!

Yelp
Stumbled upon Giusto when we walked around the pier at Newport, Rhode Island. It had a beachy, modern, clean interior/exterior. We went during the Happy Hour so it was a very selective menu. The highlight would be the squid ink calamari, looked gross, but tasted amazing. Our servers were on point and helpful with recommendations. Very clean and great portions with a wide array of seafoods to choose from.

Yelp
For a place that has received such hype, I was quite disappointed. Our server couldn't answer any of our questions and was quite checked out. Also, the food descriptions do not match up to what is actually served. For example, the Lumache with a white wine butter sauce is tomato based, and the Casarecci pork ragu was a white sauce. Overall, not the top notch experience I was expecting for our anniversary dinner.

Yelp
Stopped by this afternoon for drinks and an appetizer. We were "greeted" by the hostess who appeared apathetic and less than interested in hospitality. Unfortunately, our server approached us with the same lack of enthusiasm and we were quickly turned off to the idea of having a meal here. We opted to have our drinks and go. The server dropped them without so much as an "enjoy" and did not check back in with us. We asked for the check and paid quickly. When the server picked up the check we gave a (seemingly) sarcastic "woohoo" when he saw the 20% tip. With so many better options for service on the island, I recommend sitting this one out...

Yelp
Me and my girlfriends were walking around after a late lunch and decided to grab some drinks. We were curious to check out the Hammets Hotel and the view overlooking the marina and stumbled upon Giusto. We sat at the bar, and the whole staff was very nice and attentive. The bartender who served us, was amazing! I wish I could remember his name! We loved the drinks he recommended to us. Honestly all the bartenders were great and made us feel very welcome! We'll definitely be back another time to try the food! 1000/10!!
