NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"Glizzy’s, the Soho hotdog spot that puts things like jerk smoked brisket and classic banh mi toppings on hotdogs, has a second location in Pier 57 in Chelsea. Here, you can grab a dog and eat it overlooking the Hudson River." - will hartman

NYC’s ‘Best Cuban Restaurant’ Is Closing After 47 Years - Eater NY

"Glizzy’s, a late-night hot dog counter that opened in December, is cooked. The grates have been down at the Metropolitan Avenue shop in recent weeks, and a for lease sign now hangs from the building. Johnny Huyghn, the restaurant’s owner, attributed the closure to low foot traffic. At one point, Huyghn planned to open dozens of hot dog shops in the city; now he’s focused on music festivals across the United States, he says." - Luke Fortney

31 Snappy, Standout Hot Dogs Around NYC

"This newcomer stays up late on a busy stretch of Metropolitan Avenue. The hot dogs are boiled Sabrett’s — not particularly distinguished but they get the job done. Perhaps too many toppings are offered, running to dozens, but if you like to ultra-customize your frank late at night, this could be your favorite hot doggery. A new branch is opening on St. Marks Place." - Robert Sietsema

Glizzy's NYC Review - Williamsburg - New York - The Infatuation

"There are, technically, thousands of things you could eat at Glizzy's in Williamsburg, and all of them are hot dogs. This counter-service spot from the team behind let's you customize your dog with over 20 toppings that range from relish and potato salad to bacon and kimchi. The combo possibilities are nearly infinite, although if you don't feel like designing your own handheld meal, there are a few signature versions to choose from. Some of the house dogs—such as the one topped with hot honey, coleslaw, and smoked brisket—are a bit chaotic, but for a late-night spot, that feels on-brand. Glizzy's is open until at least midnight every night, with hours that run until 3am Thursday through Saturday." - Bryan Kim

Went here for some hotdogs for lunch with the family. Ordered the Houston, we have a problem which included smoked brisket chili with friend onions. It was simply delicious. We also ordered the Fuhgeddaboudit (pizza sauce garlic bread crumbs basil shredded mozerella) and my son loved it. We did wish the hotdogs were bigger though as one was not enough for a meal.

Tried Glizzy’s at Pier 57, it was decent. But not the best hot dog I’ve had. Interesting menu choices.

Average dogs with slightly creative toppings. At $9-10/dog it's ok value.

This is place is awesome!! 🔥 I’m not even a big Hot Dog person, but this place is the stand out exception to the rule. I ordered the “OG Lucy’s” which was delicious, and I plan on going back at least 10 more times to try the other 10 dogs on the menu. Affordable, delicious, and centrally located. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I even made a piece of ✍🏻 Handwritten Art while I was there. 😀

Glizzy’s may rank up there with gourmet hotdog spots in the city. The texture and fluffiness of how these dogs are prepared is definitely memorable. Interesting array of fancy dogs to choose from. Would go back again.

The Sean Paul was life-changingly good. Went here recently after a fundraising event in the neighborhood and the man behind the counter was incredibly kind, fast and communicative, offering free hot dogs for people from our fundraiser. I’d been craving a hot dog for a second, but nothing could’ve topped this experience. Also tried the Mr Lee and that was really good as well. Could not recommend more, truly delicious and operated with care.
