NYC New Restaurant Openings, December 2025 | Eater NY

"A Thai street-food spot from chef Nate Limwong (Chalong; Unglo), this newcomer opened on Tuesday, December 2, and focuses on dishes from across Thailand, like Bangkok’s yen ta fo, a noodle soup with seafood and a pink broth flavored with fermented bean curd. The space nods to vintage cinema, a theme carried onto the cocktail list with drinks like the Before Sunset (pandan-infused mezcal) and the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (gin, mango, lime, and cilantro)." - Tierney Plumb

Godunk - Review - Lower East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"On the Lower East Side, Godunk is a Thai street food restaurant from the team behindChalongandUnglo. There’s a movie theme here—the host stand is lit by a “Box Office” sign, and the drinks are named things like Before Sunrise and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Pair them with dry pok pok noodles and a Thai crab and shrimp omelet." - Will Hartman

New NYC Thai Restaurant Godunk Opens in Noho  | Eater NY

"A new Thai street food spot now open at 332 Bowery in Noho from chef Nate Limwong, with a menu that spans dishes from Isaan in the North to her native Surat Thani; look for dry pok pok noodles, Godunk fried rice that’s similar to China’s sticky rice dish, ba jang, and seafood dish yen ta fo with noodles and water spinach. Cocktails come from Angel’s Share alum Ryan Saputra, who has put together romance film-inspired drinks in a room with vintage cinema aesthetics." - Melissa McCart

Today is the last day of the year and we decided to have our meal at GOdunk. It turned out to be such a great choice. The restaurant isn’t overcrowded, the tables are well-spaced, and the atmosphere is really nice. The staff were wonderful — we were taken care of by Rita, who was very sweet, attentive, and gave us excellent recommendations. She even asked if we had any food allergies, which made us feel really well looked after. And everything she recommended was truly delicious — exactly as described. I highly recommend this place. The flavors are authentic, perfect for Thai taste buds and enjoyable for foreigners too. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Got a chance to try Godunk for the first time on New Year’s Day with a group of friends, and we loved it. The ambiance was great the moment we walked in, fun, cozy, and welcoming. Our server Mine took amazing care of our table. She was super warm, attentive, and gave great drink and food recommendations. Everything she suggested was on point. The menu is easy to read and full of Thai street food options. I also really love the creativity of the drink menu. As a tequila lover, I started with the Before Sunset cocktail such a good start. Smooth, not too strong, with a nice mezcal touch. Love, Rosie is a must-try cocktail, and I ended the meal with Vivre Sa Vie, so refreshing and yummy. My friend also couldn’t stop talking about their Thai Iced Tea. For apps, we pretty much tried everything and they were all delicious. My favorites were the Hamachi Ceviche (perfect balance of spicy and sour) and the Grilled Pork Jowl Salad soooo good. For entrées, we shared a bunch: Pad Thai Korat Shrimp, Yentafo Seafood Noodle, Kee Mao, Godunk Fried Rice, Tom Yum Soup, Crab Omelette, and more. My absolute favorite was the Dry Suki it tasted just like what I’ve had in Thailand. Also loved the Nam Tok A5 Wagyu Noodle. Big thank you to Mine for the excellent service and for handling all our big and small requests so well. We really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back with more friends.

The food was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the movie-inspired cocktails Eternal Sunshine really stood out and was incredibly good. The atmosphere was great, and even with a reservation, the wait wasn’t long. Dishes like the Nam Tok Wagyu A5 and Grilled Pork Jowl were excellent and perfectly to my taste, as were the other items we ordered. Louise, who take care of our table, did a wonderful explaining the restaurant’s concept and recommending both food and drinks. It was my friend’s birthday, and the staff surprised us with a dessert and a birthday song, which was really sweet. Overall, it was a fantastic experience—I’ll definitely be back.

I went to Godunk Thai Street Food in New York with friends and had a great experience. The restaurant has a casual, laid-back vibe that feels like authentic Thai street food. The food was flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfect for sharing. We tried several dishes, and the balance of spicy, savory, and slightly sweet flavors was spot on. The cocktails were a highlight—creative, refreshing, and paired really well with the food. The staff were friendly, and service was quick even though the place was busy. Overall, it’s a great spot for authentic Thai food, good cocktails, and a fun meal with friends. I’d definitely come back again.

Stylish Thai plates with knockout flavors. Perfect for sharing, sipping, and lingering. Food: Every dish felt thoughtfully composed. Not just “good Thai,” but genuinely exciting. Bright acidity, heat used with intention, and a lot of attention to texture across the table. A couple of clear standouts for our group were the raw fish dish with herbs and citrus (incredibly fresh, clean, and balanced) and the grilled skewers with a deeply savory glaze that disappeared almost immediately. The noodle bowls and curries had real depth and restraint (rich, but not heavy). We had 8 people at my table and we were able to try a variety of dishes and they were all delicious. They warned us the spice would be Thai spice if we went with super spicy and I'm glad we went with normal level spice cause it was def spicy enough lol. Drinks: Inventive and very well executed. The cocktails felt designed to complement the food rather than compete with it (refreshing, playful, and easy to drink over the course of the night). Sometimes at Thai restaurants the drinks are just overly sweet and it didn't feel like that at all. Space & vibe: Trendy but not try-hard. There’s a subtle movie theme running through the space that adds personality without being distracting. We came with a large group and had plenty of room, and the semi-private booths are especially great. Really warm and inviting aesthetic. I don't really care about the vibe usually (I like to focus on the food) but it was really cute. Service: Warm, efficient, and clearly used to handling groups. Dishes came out smoothly, pacing was spot on, and everyone felt taken care of without it feeling overbearing. We ate everything family style. Overall, Godunk nails the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Great for a fun night out with friends, but just as good for a polished date or celebratory dinner. Would absolutely come back. Its near soho so perfect after a day of shopping.

Amazing experience at GOdunk! Ben was our server and he was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We ordered the hamachi ceviche, Yai fried chicken, fried fish with turmeric, tom yum seafood, and krob kem pork belly—every dish was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The food was fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend GOdunk.

Yelp
Fun new Thai restaurant in NoHo that serves food inspired by the street food of Bangkok. Overall, I'd say it's solid and really enjoyable! Godunk strays from your typical Thai restaurant classics and it's fun to try some dishes I've never had before. The food is spicy, a bit funky, and well executed. I especially like the Dry Suki noodles which had a type of fermented tofu sauce I've never had before. Prices are reasonable as well. Lastly, service was lovely and attentive. They did a great job explaining the dishes. I'm excited to come back and try more.

Yelp
I cannot express enough how delicious this food is. While I don't feel fully qualified to speak on authenticity, I'll still say it anyway: the flavors are fantastic, with true street-food character made from high-quality ingredients. The service is prompt and professional, and everyone who stopped by our table was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. The interior finishes are gorgeous as well, the space really stands out in the area. The spice levels are exactly as described. If you love heat, keep an eye out for the peppers on the menu. I'm not usually a big spice fan, but I was still able to enjoy several of the hotter dishes. I started with a few familiar street food staples to gauge the overall quality, and everything exceeded expectations. The Pad Thai was amazing, with a subtle spicy back note. The Kee Mao was rich and delicious, with tender chicken and fragrant basil that offered great breaks from the heat. The Kra Pow Beef was the spiciest of the three, flavorful, bold, and impossible to stop eating. The rice definitely helps cool things down. The wine list is also worthy of a mention with interesting bottles. I enjoyed the selection we had with dinner! I cannot wait to return and indulge in all the deliciousness they have to offer.
