"In addition to traditional kala jamun and gulab jamun, both locations of this Indian sweets shop sell kala jamun (or malai jam) split down the center and topped with a thin layer of cream." - Nandita Godbole

"Gokul Sweets is nestled within the Patel Plaza in North Decatur, a shopping complex anchored by the Patel Brothers grocery store and brimming with Indian clothing shops and restaurants. This humble restaurant may be unrivaled for its extensive and affordable menu of chaat options, including for raj kachori, dahi puri, bhel puri, and samosa chaat. Order chaat at the window and find a table. Make sure to pair this chaat adventure with Indian soda — “Thums Up” (IYKYK). Lunch tends to be very busy at Gokul Sweets, so prepare for a wait. Also worth visiting for chaat in Patel Plaza is Chat Patti next door. Gokul Sweets includes a location in Duluth." - Henna Bakshi

I ate there for the second time.. the food tastes good but is extremely oily. I haven't seen any place ever adding this much oil into their food.. I ordered thali and the box was soaked in oil, I used two tissues to remove the oil from the gravies they were totally soaked in oil, but there was still a lot of oil residue.

Nothing fancy at all in ambiance or dining experience but good authentic flavorful food. They’re in a construction zone so don’t expect photo op worthy sights. The dining room is very much similar to a cafeteria. If that matters to you then I wouldn’t go but if you’re looking for a plethora of vegetarian options both in entree and bakery then this is the place for you.

One day, I’ll visit Hyderabad. This is a great start with street food. I alway enjoy visiting when I come to Atlanta. Several visits already. I recommended to others

Gokul Sweets in Decatur is an absolute disgrace to the culinary industry. We went there based on reviews and being a vegetarian restaurant. The food was so inedible that it ended up in the trash can even though we were hungry. The hygiene standards were shockingly low, with a server blatantly ignoring basic cleanliness protocols by serving food after eating without washing their hands. The sight of the restaurant's AC duct dripping onto food preparation areas was simply nauseating.

First of all know that this is a vegetarian restaurant, no meat. Also, you have to order rice and/or naan separately. I liked the hot sour soup, great mix of spices. I didn't like the Masala Dosa so much. It was spicy enough, I just didn't like the flavor. My niece is a vegetarian, not sure what she ordered (pictured) but she didn't like it enough to finish it. We didn't try any of the sweets, but I probably won't go back.

It’s a very big store for Indian sweets and savoury. I often go here to enjoy paani poori. Love the taste . They have paan shop also inside the store.
