The Best Breakfast Sandwiches In NYC

"Signature Egg Sandwich Even though this tiny cafe right near the Franklin Avenue C train station in Bed-Stuy serves an all-around exciting Middle Eastern menu for brunch, we always get the same thing. Their signature breakfast sandwich is stacked tall on an onion and poppy seed challah bun, with melted kashkaval cheese, bright sumac onions, a heap of scrambled eggs, and nutty muhammara that kind of acts like a meat substitute. It’s delicious without anything added, but you should throw in some avocado for creaminess, too." - willa moore, neha talreja, carlo mantuano, carina finn koeppicus

"I asked Avi if he wanted to walk to Golda, which is in Bed-Stuy. I got a decaf latte. I typically get oat lattes, but I was scarred from that viral article a couple weeks ago about oat milk actually being full of a particular, harmful type of sugar. Everything good is ultimately ruined is the lesson."

Miss Ada and Golda’s Modern Spins on Middle Eastern Cooking | The New Yorker

"And it’s not alone in Brooklyn. If Miss Ada, with its house-made blueberry kombucha, is speaking in the vernacular of the moment, then Golda, a Middle Eastern-ish all-day café in Bed-Stuy, is texting in it. Opened in 2017 by the late restaurateur Danny Nusbaum, whose family started Pick A Bagel, it offers a number of almost parodically millennial touchstones, including açai yogurt and chia-seed oatmeal with date-oat milk." - Hannah Goldfield
