Golden Boy Pizza - Review - Parkside - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The legendary North Beach pizzeria has expanded, opening a second outpost on Taraval near the beach. The menu remains the same with Sicilian-style square pies with toppings like garlic with clams and sausage. Heads up, it’s takeout only. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

The pizza here is exactly as good as the original one in little Italy. The rectangle slice of pizza is surprisingly light, very flavorful and tasty. I’m not a fan of the garlic and clam pizza, but my friends love that pizza. They trained their employees well both places the workers are so super friendly and polite. Way to go.

Google
This pizza is good. The square slices are a fun twist. The crust has that perfect crunch I love. And the cheese? Melted, gooey perfection. Tastes just as good as the other location I've been to. Togo / take out only Slice or whole pizza Can call ahead for faster pick up Recommend

Google
Absolutely delicious! The pepperoni pizza here is next-level, crispy on the bottom, cheesy on top, and packed with bold, savory flavor in every bite. The thick-cut square slices are perfectly satisfying. If you’re in San Francisco, this spot is a must for pizza lovers.

Google
Delicious, large, soft, doughy square pizza from a non-assuming storefront. I’d recommend ordering ahead, especially if you plan to get multiple slices or an entire pan. I got four slices, and they warned it would be about a ten minute wait for the pepperoni - but it was so worth it.

When i heard that there was a Golden Boy opening on Taraval, I was like.... where could it be. Then I heard it was near 25th, and immediately, I was like Marco Polo Gelato??? Sure enough, the new Golden Boy in the Sunset is here, and it's amazing!!! I've been going to the original NB restaurant since the 90s??? 80s??? But it was always a destination AND a treat. Parked my motorcycle in front and ate and drank inside of that blacked out interior pizza joint with thousands of decals and graffiti on the corrugated walls. It was perfect! (For North Beach) Which brings me to this place..... I'll finish my post with my final thought. The pizza is just as good. Love the rectangular pieces. I don't care of there are other pizza places selling square slices, GB is the original 90⁰ slice in SF. So, about the decals on the exterior tile work. I don't know. I'm not THAT old and I'm not shaking a cane at the (ugly) decals. Okay I said it. This ain't North Beach. It's the Sunset. The decals won't age well. Its not the climate elements. It's the look. NB is gritty and classic, and well, it's the Barbary Coast. NB GB was open late for the night walkers and clubbing junkies. Pizza to fill the alcohol soaked belly's are what it's about. I think the decals should go. It doesn't look great. Especially against the backdrop of such a beautiful pizza joint. Secondly, decals are now of horrible quality. They will separate and leave ugly paper/glue stains to scrape. Then, I may be entirely wrong. "Okay Boomer...." Congratulations to Golden Boy Pizza and welcome to the west side. By the way, I added a decal to the wall.

Google
Was excited to try this but ultimately was left disappointed. The crust is the best part and basically "saves" the pizza but the rest of the ingredients seem to have zero flavor or taste. We ordered the supreme pizza and it was one blandest pizzas I've eaten in the city. It wasn't bad per se but I don't see us ordering from here again.

Google
Golden Boy Pizza completely lived up to the hype! We tried the combo, cheese, veggie, and clam garlic slices, and each one was an experience of its own. The dough was so fluffy and soft—honestly, it felt like eating a cloud. The flavors were spot-on, rich but not overly salty, just the perfect balance. You can tell they take pride in their kitchen too; it looked so clean and well-organized. It’s one of those spots that makes you feel glad you came. We’re already planning our next visit!

Google
Really good Sicilian style pizza (square/rectangular pan). 3 locations in the bay. Only the 2 SF locations offer slices though. This one is just a takeout window, but there's a park across the street you can eat at. Menu is small and simple. Came on a Monday night, short line. I ordered slices of the combo, pesto veggie, and clam and garlic at $4.50 each. You can't really beat that price these days. It was ready in about 5 mins. The crust of 2 of the 3 slices were excellent, crispy, light, fluffy. 1 was floppy and soft, but 2/3 is not bad. Toppings were quality and the amount was reasonable. Very cheesy. Our favorite was the pesto veggie. For the price and quality, this place ranks pretty high on my list

Yelp
Not sure what the fuss is all about. My friend ordered 4 pizzas so I can't be sure of the actual names of the pizza, but following are my comments. 1. Combo meat. Was decent but could have used a bit more sauce and meat. Overall 3.5. 2. Pepperoni. We asked for double pepperoni. I believe we did get double pep. but it seemed to be the amount of pep. you would get on any other restaurant's pizza. Sauce was right amount. 4 stars. 3. Clam and garlic pizza. Again, could have used more clams. Garlic was fine. Could have used bit more sauce. 3.5 stars. 4. Pesto veggie. Veggies were fresh but pesto sauce was lacking. 3 stars. Overall: -all the pizzas needed to be slightly crispier. You have a crust which is basically a soft 3/4 inch thick dough/bread with ingredients on top. There needs to be a greater contrast in the texture of the outer crust vs inner crust. A crispier outer crust would have improved the "bite." -if the combo and clam/garlic pizzas had the same amount of sauce as the pep., I would have rated them higher.

Yelp
First time at GB on Taraval after years going to GB in North Beach. As always the pizza was excellent, well cooked and tasted great. I have to admit one of 4 slices "mysteriously disappeared" during the walk home. The fellas behind the counter were warm and welcoming and the pace was crisp. I didn't have to wait too long for my pizza and they sent me on my way prepped for cheesy goodness. This GB is right next to a great cocktail bar (good choice!) and there is reasonable space on the sidewalk to wait. My only complaint is that people double park to order and pickup. Unlike N.Beach where the street is open, this part of Taraval is a bit narrower due to the Muni, so double parking actually is a hazard to navigation.

Yelp
Decided to try Golden Boy Pizza while in the neighborhood, and it didn't disappoint! I arrived around 6-7 pm, which was their dinner rush--approximately 10+ people either waiting to order or pick up. I waited about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for my 4 slices. The clam pizza and the combo were definitely the highlights--super flavorful and worth the wait. The vibe was bustling but efficient, and the staff did a good job keeping things moving. If you're in the area and craving pizza, this spot is worth checking out!

Yelp
Went to Golden Boys on a Sunday night & it wasn't too busy but the service was very very slow. I was in line for about 25 minutes before I could order (there was 3 people ahead of me) & we all ordered slices. Took me about 45 minutes total to get my slice of pizza. There is no seating, take out only. The pizza is great! An SF staple for sure. Maybe they were just under staffed. I would recommend

Yelp
Golden boy got me golden hard crush'n for more. Conveniently located in the outer sunset on a relatively busy street w lots of parking. The service and staff was swift and kind. There isn't a place to sit and eat so it's all to-go. Stuffs tasty. There ain't no denying it. The garlic clam slice was surprisingly tasty. The dough was moist and the crunch was spot on. But I wanna just point out how my sausage pizza had 4 sausages total. Didn't know we were skimpin out here. I know the economy ain't the best but still, hook a bro up
google avatar

Yelp
From the time Golden Boy opens, there is a line at this location. The quality and price point make Golden Boy the best budget option in the Bay Area. There's obviously a wait for whole pies but by the slice, customers get instant gratification. I ordered a slice of sausage and a slice of pepperoni. Both were delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend eating at Golden Boy.

Yelp
I was thrilled to discover Golden Boy Pizza's new location on Taraval, much closer than their North Beach spot! I stopped by for lunch, and while it got busy, ordering ahead made pickup easy. The Garlic & Clam pizza was just as delicious and consistent as the other location. The grab and go storefront has no seating, but the quality makes up for it. Definitely still one of my favorite pizza places in SF. Would recommend!

Yelp
We ordered two large pan Sicilian pizzas. There are lots of pizza choices in the Sunset District but we couldn't wait to try Golden Boy. We called in our order for a 5:30 pick-up. There was a line when we arrived, but they have a window for order pick ups. Great friendly service. So glad they have a line for pick up so you do not have to wait in the long line for your call-in order. We've never order from their original location at North Beach but been wanting to try it. We ordered two large pan pies; 1/2 Combo and 1/2 Clam & Garlic. The second pie; 1/2 Sausage & Mushroom and 1/2 Cheese only. Pizzas are more like fluffy focaccia bread with more toppings. We asked for the pizza to be cut into smaller 8 pieces so each person could try all the 4 flavors. The large pan pizza filled the box so very good size large pizza. Actually, I didn't eat the plain cheese pizza but ordered for picky eaters that only eat cheese pizza! Compared to other pizza restaurants around this area, I think the GBP prices are very good. We will be back to try the other pies.

Yelp
Walked by Golden Boy Pizza in North Beach several times, but never tried it. They opened a new location at the prior Marco Polo gelato site. We heard so much about it that we decided to finally give them a try. Placed an order for a large with half clam and garlic and the other half combo. Our pizza was ready in about 15 minutes. I like both thin and thick crust pizzas, and I like pizza bread. To me, this pizza is very reminiscent of fluffy focaccia just with more toppings. I liked it! Both were good, but I liked the clam one more. The bread was fluffy and light, stretchy cheese, and the toppings were flavorful. Yum!

Yelp
TLDR: Uniquely light and tasty rectangular Sicilian style pizza served by the slice or whole. Order at the window. Take out only. Friendly service, street parking. Casual urban street vibe. I N T R O : Out here on the Western side of the City, there are many choices for pizza by the slice, but none as anticipated as much as the arrival of Golden Boy Pizza to this neighborhood. Located near the corner of 22nd Street on Taraval, there is some street parking on and around the block, and direct transit access via the L-Taraval light rail line right out in front. In the works for a couple of years now, GBP opened just recently serving their take on Sicilian Pizza they call "San Francilian" served by the slice or as a whole pie. T H E P I Z Z A . . I've enjoyed their pizza in the past at their original location in North Beach, but here you will find the same friendly service and most importantly of all, the same terrific pizza as in North Beach. They have several styles always on hand: Combo Pepperoni Sausage Veggie Pesto Cheese What makes GBP's slices unique is that they all have a nice toasty yet delicate bottom crust that easily gives way to pillowy insides topped by cheese and your choice of toppings per above or customize as you see fit. It's almost like a focaccia bread, but more tender AND crunchy AND Yummy. My favorites here are the Sausage, or Veggie Pesto so far. The Clam and Garlic was good too, but maybe needed a bit more cheese for that one. I've yet to try the others, but they look good too. Pro Tips: Be prepared for lines around lunch or dinner times, and try to get there before 7pm.. After about 7:30pm, the choices do tend to run out in that last hour before closing. This is easily one of our favorite pizza joints, and it's great to have GBP in the Sunset District now!

Yelp
Just had to give this place a try after hearing from a friend about the garlic and clam pizza. We ordered half Combo and Garlic & clams. And after a bite of the Garlic & clams, it was absolutely delicious. Airy light bread with loads of garlic flavor and small pieces of clams. The combo was delicious too. I just couldn't stop eating it. The box was filled all the way to the edge with pizza and quite substantial with lots of cheese and cut into 8 pcs, enough to feed a family of 4. This place is purely for take out. Order in advance to save time lining up. With 2 windows. One to order and the other for pick up. Parking might be difficult, as I saw 3 cars double parked outside during our pick up at 5:30 pm on Sunday. You have to try their signature Garlic & clams! It does not disappoint! Overall, I'm in love with their pizzas. Can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Sad that Marco Polo closed here but golden boys taking over is a great addition to the sunset. The north beach location is such a mission to get to but not anymore with this location. I'd say service here is relatively quick, came during a busy lunch hr where there was already a line at the window to order a whole pizza and it was only a 15 min wait! Go tos are the garlic clam or combo whenever I go. I will say that I think the north beach location has more flavor packed in their pizzas but this location still really good. The crust is still very crispy while soft inside and they load toppings on.

Yelp
Pizza is amazing. Service is fast and friendly but expect long lines because this spot is busy !take out only for now. Parklet is in future plans !!! D4 Parkside has been waiting for GB to open ever since the location was printed on their North Beach location pizza boxes !!! Welcome to the hood Julian and Team !!! Ambiance is fast and efficient just busy JYW aka the mayor of Noriega highly recommends !
google avatar

Bally L.

Yelp
A great addition to the Parkside area! Famous for their garlic and clam pizza. A word of advice: if you're trying to grab whole pizzas close to closing, you should call ahead and place an order. They usually run out of pizzas by 8PM and whatever they have left in the window is it. One time, I came after a work shift at 8PM and unfortunately they were sold out of almost everything minus pepperoni and veggie. I was able to get a slice a pepperoni and they were nice enough to throw in a second piece for me. If you order online, you just head over to the left hand counter and tell them your name. It's quick and easy!

Yelp
New Golden Boys location! I had high expectations as I grew up in the North Beach area loving the original Golden Boy's. So, naturally, I was thrilled to hear they were opening up a new location and happy I didn't have to drive further into the city for a slice of their delicious pizza. I got there around lunch time and the line was short and service was quick. I ordered the pesto veggie and combo, but honestly was a bit disappointed. Both pizzas lacked flavor and were just decent at best. Nothing from what I remembered. I hope this is just the product of growing pains or an off day, so I will give it a second shot in the future.

Yelp
3.5 STARS A night in North Beach isn't complete unless you've had Golden Boy Pizza... FAAAADDEEED. What's better than locking lips with hot, crispy cheesy carbs after stumbling out of a bar or club? May want to steer clear of the clam & garlic slice IF you want to get play because your breath will kick...not to mention the booty burps. GBP is one of the most loved pizza spots in the city so their new Taraval location has been highly anticipated after multiple delays in opening. I haven't had a GBP slice in years... Maybe it's opening kinks, maybe my palate has changed, or maybe because I was *sober*... I thought the slice was just aight (I know most will disagree). IMO, it's a perfectly fine Sicilian-style pizza for the drunchies. Carb heavy to soak up the alkie and easy on the wallet. If I had to pick, the clam & garlic ($4.50/slice) is my fav for its robust flavor and ratio of ingredients. Soft, doughy focaccia with melty, stretchy cheese, chewy baby clams, and patches of piquant garlic and parsley. The crust is lacking tho, not much flavor and the bottom was soft, not golden brown and crispy (ate it hot). Brought it home to heat in a cast iron pan and it was better. I find the other selections bland, not enough marinara sauce and cheese. Regardless, there's no denying that GBP is a great value. A meal for under $5 in the city is a win. And, even better that you don't have to trek to North Beach anymore! O T H E R I N F O * GBP took over Marco Polo that moved to Noriega/46th. * Slices: Cheese, pepperoni, sausage, combo, pesto veggie, clam & garlic ($3.50-$4.50 per slice) * Small 1/4th Pan ($12-$15.25), Large 1/2 Pan ($22.50-$28.75). Half/half available for large 1/2 pan. * Until the opening hype dies down, expect a line (8 people deep on Friday at 2:15 pm). After ordering, it took about 15 minutes to warm up slices. If you're in a rush, you can request to not warm them up. * When I visited, there was one line, same window to order and pick-up. Even if you call ahead for pick-up, you had to stand in line? * Takeout only. No seating but McCoppin Square is just 1/2 block away so you have a picnic or enjoy your slices on the park benches. * Cash + CCs only. No Apple Pay. * Metered and residential parking. Depending on the time, it's hit or miss but much easier than North Beach.

Yelp
So excited that Golden Boy finally opened a location in the Sunset! The North Beach one always have lines out the door and it's such a trek out there if you're from the Sunset IYKYK. I called in to place my order and they answered right away! Dude that answered the call was nice friendly and upbeat! And in 20 mins it was ready for pick up. The pizza was so so fresh and yummmmmm! Only thing I wished was if the crust was a little more well done, just a little so that it's a bit more crispy and wasn't as soggy.. it could have just been that it's so fresh and hot so it was just super soft. I think the slices should be cut smaller like instead of the 8 slices it can be 16 if you are buying the pans. In either event will def come back! Can't get enough of GBP! Droooolsssss
google avatar

Shirley N.

Yelp
Yes. It's officially opened now. After months of anticipation. It replaced Marco Polo which relocated to Noriega St in the outer Sunset. Ordered - * two combo single slices * one minced clam. If you order more than two slices you'll get a pizza box. More like focaccia bread than your typical pizza. Each slice has at least one edge as the pizza is made in a rectangular pan. We plan to be regulars as we live in the neighborhood. Welcome to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Belinda C.

Yelp
I don't get the hype. I heard so much about Golden Boy and since I was in the area I decided to give it a try. The line at 6 pm on a Friday night didn't even move. So I gave up. However, my friend was nice enough to go back the next week and got me two slices to try. I was super excited! Only to be disappointed. I tried the combo and the clams and garlic. The ingredient were good but the dough was disappointing. It was so soft it felt like eating bread. There was no crisp to the edges or bottom. My friends and my coworkers said the same thing when they went on separate days. I would probably only return if their crust and dough was better.
google avatar

Kelvin C.

Yelp
The Golden Boy pizza hype has had me interested for years. I finally tried it because of the new Taraval location. Got two whole pies, with pesto and other with tomato sauce. Great: Yummy, fluffy, soft crust, focaccia like Lacking: Skimpy on toppings, cheese is barely melted and no caramelization, not enough flavor Overall, good pizza, not a 5 star, overall 3.5
google avatar

Jess W.

Yelp
San Francisco iconic pizza now available in the sunset. Grab a slice and hit up the cold Ocean Beach (for a bonfire?). With minimal effort to increase veggies to my dinner, I got a combo instead of only pepperoni. Anywho, there is significantly less clam and garlic on the garlic clam pizza. How do I know! Well, based on how it looks & it didn't make my mouth stench even after brushed, flossed and use mouth wash. Payment: Cash and Credit card , no Apple Pay Parking: walk, bike, parking is tricky in this area

Yelp
Been living in the city for over a year now and haven't had a chance to stop by golden boy because North Beach might as well be across a bridge somewhere living in Balboa Park. That all changed now that they've opened their second location in Sunset/Parkside. I don't discriminate on my crusts but have been tilting lately to the NYC style thin crust after living next to A Slice of NY in SJ, so I hadn't found myself in a mood for the thicker Sicilian until today. And man. How golden is it. I got a slice of clam and garlic ($4) and pepperoni ($3.50) and it quickly came out hot 5 minutes later. YMMV as I came on a super rainy Thursday and had nobody in line in front of me. The clam and garlic is just heavenly. They keep the tomato sauce on it and the garlic and clams just pair with it so well. A delicious SF take on pizza. The pepperoni was traditional, the cheese was gooey, and the pepperonis tasted good. I'll probably just get two slices of the clam next time because it was just that good, but can see myself grabbing a cheese since it's only $3. The crust is crunchy but so incredibly soft. There's a reason why golden boy is a staple of the city. I'm so happy this second location opened up. The workers seem friendly and quick to getting your food out there.

Yelp
Came for their soft opening and got a free slice! Employees were so nice and passed out pizza for those waiting in line. Love that they opened this in sunset
google avatar

Tammy P.

Yelp
Golden Boy is here in the Sunset! 1. Free slices are being given out as part of their soft opening. And all flavors are being made! 2. Employees were nice and handed out slices throughout the line with a smile. If you want cheese, you won't have to wait long. 3. This is a takeout only location. There isn't any seating inside.

Yelp
New resto opening alert! Golden Boy Pizza has officially landed in the Sunset, making dreams of clam pizza with loads of garlic and parsley come true. There are 2 lines, 1 for ordering and 1 for picking up. Since I was nearby, I opted to order in line. Got here at 4pm, with 1 person in front, waited a few minutes for the cashier to take my order, and 15 minutes for the order to come out hot from the oven. They have slices and you can get it by the box (the cheaper option if you need more pizza). I order half clam, half pepperoni. Slices are huge. They said better to call ahead and pick up at the time it will be ready to avoid waiting in line. Those who came got confused where to line up but windows are clearly marked Pick Up or Order. Came home a few minutes later to eat still hot Sicilian style pizza (a rectangular pizza with dough more foccacia style), the crust soft and pillowy and cheese still oozing. Delicious! Quality is the same as the North Beach original branch but no need for me to go to there anymore. There is no ambiance as you can't dine in, pizza is only available for take out.
google avatar

Sophia L.

Yelp
Called 20 minutes ahead of time on a Saturday at noon time and was able to skip the line. They have a separate line for pick up so no need to wait in the same line as those waiting for slices. We got the 1/2 combo and 1/2 clam and garlic and both were great! The combo has your usual pepperoni, sausage, sliced tomatoes, zucchini, and onions. The clam and garlic also has parsley and onion. The ingredients are really fresh so pizza is quite tasty. A large pizza feeds 3-4 people.
google avatar

Doug T.

Yelp
Golden Boy Pizza has been a favorite of ours for years. What can I say. Before the Taraval Store opened we would drive to Peninsula or Northbeach to get GBP! It is that good. Caveat is you have to like thick soft crust pizza. Its not the NY style round thin crust pizza. You get a large rectangular pizza with plenty of pizza crust bread to eat. Soft and tender with just the right amount of sauce BUT PLENTY of toppings! You get your moneys worth. Our favorite is Garlic and Clams. Early dinner mid week we ordered at the store and only had to wait 20 mins or less for them to make it. A full size whole pizza with feed a family of four. No seating in the store so strictly take away. Parking may be a bit difficult but don't despair, its worth the effort.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
I always went to the North Beach location and was excited for this new location. You can call ahead to order if you want a whole pizza and pick up. There is no seating, more of a grab and go spot. I love the clam and garlic pizza here. Recommend this spot for pizza cravings!
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
Garlic clam pizza all the way!! Could always use more clams but the flavor is just so good. Each slice is huge so you could easily get full off of two slices. The cheese and pepperoni were also delicious and a crowd pleaser with kids and my in laws! Parking is hard to find around here but you find a way, even if it means your husband double parking real quick while you run to pick up your pizza. Quick note that they don't take Apple Pay. Card and cash only!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally!! Golden boy offically moved across the city into the Sunset/Parkside. I use to pick up from their original location so I was excited this was opening up near me. Went the week they grand opened and I placed an phone order to be picked up at 5:30pm. So glad I called in way in advance. I heard wait time was 80 mins. The pizza is just like the original location. Clam garlic and combo is my go to. No seats. Take out only. Walk up window. Two seperate lines. One for ordering, other for pick up. Be patient .

Yelp
Love love loveeeeee. I'm a sucker for this square/rectangle size pizza. Their location in North Beach is wonderful so when I heard they were taking over Marco Polo I was a bit more ok with the closure of Marco Polo because at least something worthy replaced it. Called in and ordered a large half Clam and half combo pizza. I personally like the clam pizza, but it's not everyone's jam. The clam one is super garlicy so if you're like never enough garlic, you might like this. Regardless both are delicious and it was ready within 30 minutes like they said and was hot. I think it's takeout only just like it's other location. Welcome to the west side of SF Golden Boy!

Yelp
Arrived at 1:20 on a Tuesday to avoid the lunch rush and placed my order at 1:30 with a 15 min wait. Very efficient and the pie taste just like North Beach. Despite the missing hair restraint- it's a solid 5 for today's visit. Phone ahead and you pay when you pick up your pie!
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Very good focaccia pizza. They let you order by phone. I'm kind of confused if there was a pick-up only line. I didn't want to cut the line to ask the cashier, but sure enough, people cut in front of me even though I ordered by phone as well. Anyways, huge line at lunch on a Friday. I got the large 1/2 combo, 1/2 clam & garlic. They forgot to cut my pizza. It was just one huge slice.

Yelp
San Francisco has gold standards since the gold rush days. There is the Golden Gate Bridge and then there is 49ers Gold , San Francisco Giants World Series baseball trophies gold ,Golden State Warriors ( Originally the San Francisco Warriors ) and then there is Golden Boy Pizza. I always go to the original spots for places that started in San Francisco even when they do expand( sometimes it doesn't translate to other locations ). The secondary San Francisco Golden Boy location is in the Sunset Strip of Taraval. Although this location lacks the bars in the area to pair the drinks with the pizza slices it still matches the good pizza flavors with the Green street location. I first had to try the go to tasty pepperoni slice which was squared and not too cheesy , doughy , and saucy. The squared slice is consistent with most of the Golden Boy slices I had at the Green street location. I then had my favorite slice which is the garlic and clam ( it's my jam). It was delicious and not too salty and had the right amount of savory with the clams and the garlic giving it a combination knock out punch. It's the San Francisco gold standard with true value. The Boy at Taraval street still got the touch in San Francisco that's Golden Come to the Sunset Strip of San Francisco grab a Golden Boy pizza slice when you are Autumn strollin

Yelp
Stopped by on a Sunday around 2pm and picked up a couple of slices of the garlic & clam, and the meat & veggie combo. Both were hella good! But if I had to choose one over the other I would easily choose the garlic & clam pizza. I don't really mess with seafood like that, so that says a lot! So four slices came out to $18 flat. I'll be back (Arnold voice).

Yelp
So glad to have Golden Boy so much closer now! North Beach is great but it's a bit far and the double parking is insane! And it might be me but I think the clam and garlic is so much better at this location. But it has been popular. Twice I've tried to order a large pan by phone but have been denied. So I just get in line and wait it out. Because it's so worth it!

Yelp
Blessing us with a second spot! All the people that don't live near North Beach have tears of joy!!! Luckily my first time here I didn't have to wait long, 15 min for a fresh large clam pizza. For all you Golden Boy virgins, yes, get the clam pizza. That's why you came here! I'm not a huge fan of thick pizzas, Detroit style, grandma, etc but this, this I will gladly eat. The dough is sooooo soft and crispy. Even the next day when heating up, chefs kiss. I find most left over pizza not too great when reheated because it dries out or the dough gets chewy. Also, very great prices compared to a lot of other pizza around sf.

Yelp
Finally, Golden Boy Pizza is open at sunset. The staff here is very friendly and easy to talk to, and they are such a welcome addition to Parkside.

Yelp
The pizza tastes great. Not too salty and love the crust. What makes me hesitate from giving them 5 stars is the lack of toppings. For a pepperoni & sausage pizza each large slice had exactly 2 slices of pepperoni and small sprinkling of sauage. Same for the combo. It just makes the pizza so bare. My teenagers are asking to switch up our default pizza store so they can get more toppings.

Yelp
So nice to have a local Golden Boy instead of needing to drive to North Beach. The slices are delicious and affordable. The clam and garlic is my favorite.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service, take out only. Crunchy pizza with a soft center. Get the clam and pesto + combo slices! I think they use the same trash cans at the north beach location! Pleasantly surprised and will be back!

Yelp
It's been a while since I've had Golden Boy Pizza, just because the original location is just a hassle. So with this new location in the Sunset, can pre-order and relatively easy to drive up and pick up. Parking isn't always easy here either, but it wasn't too bad. Called at around 5 and was told the earliest pick-up would be 7:10pm, which was fine. Very friendly on the phone and when we went to pick up, the guy was friendly as well. Our pizza was already ready when we got there just a little before 7:10. There was a long line waiting for the slice or walk-up line. If you didn't know, it's Togo only here. Ordered the clam and garlic along with a combo. The dough is a fluffy dough and the pizza is rectangular. Almost like a Detroit style maybe, but less cheese and crunch. I had a fresh slice and it was good, but the dough was a little soft. I decided to crisp up my other slices I ate on a pan (the pizza was still hot) and I think I liked it better with the crispier bottom. Not sure I'm a fan of zucchini on my combo, but it was ok. Could always use more sausage. Clam and garlic was tasty. Pretty large pizza for only about $25+ each.

Yelp
This is our first time at the Taraval location & although the line seemed long, it moved quickly. We got their clam pizza, and it tastes consistent with their North Beach and San Mateo locations. I think because this location is a bit slower in terms of the amount of people going than the North Beach location, the pizzas aren't as fresh to order because they asked if we would like them to heat it up, whereas the North Beach one is usually straight out the oven. Overall, it's still good since it's consistent & a great deal for a slice of pizza in SF!

Yelp
Golden Boy Pizza is basically a slice of heaven served Detroit-style--crispy edges, pillowy dough, and toppings that make you question every other pizza you've ever had. Pro tip: do the online order and pick-up combo to avoid the massive line. Trust me, waiting in line when you could be eating this pizza is a crime against your own happiness. Prices are fair (for San Francisco standards, which means "less than a small mortgage"), and the quality? Out. Of. This. World. The only downside is there's no seating, but hey, who needs chairs when you can walk across the street to the park and feel fancy eating your pizza alfresco? Golden Boy is dangerously addictive. If loving their pizza is wrong, I don't want to be right. 11/10--just go!

Yelp
Glad to have a closer location, rather than to drive out to San Mateo or North Beach for pizza. Definitely try to call in instead to save some time. The cashier was shuffling with several tasks instead of being dedicated to taking orders when there is a line. So it took us about 40 mins from ordering to receive our pizza, when we were third in line.

Yelp
This is a to-go pizza business with a few yummy variations of topping. I'd love to see a couple more choices but what they offer is excellent. The crust is crispy and one of the best I've had. I particularly like that you can buy one piece or a variety on the spot or special order, but they're very different than regular pizza so don't miss it, come by and check it out.

Yelp
Pizza crust is thick rather than thin so not for those who prefer thin crust pizza. I found the crust tasty and fresh. I've only had slices so far. Pepperoni is delicious. I wasn't a fan of the combo but mostly because they put zucchini on it and that's just not my thing. They can be really be busy some days--I called one Saturday evening and it was going to take them an hour and 20 minutes for an order. Takeout only; you can all in your order or place your order at storefront order window. There is a separate pickup window.

Yelp
Nice to have a Golden Boys in the sunset. A couple blocks from Lincoln HS. It's to-go only. Delicious pizza, not as crunchy as the North Beach location but still good. The staff was super nice despite how busy it was.
