What a charming and unique little place! I am a Canadian visiting Albuquerque and my local friend brought me here. She had been coming for many years and highly recommended it. The place is small yet charming and quaint with very unique decor at a homey atmosphere. The young gentleman at the counter was extremely welcoming and kind to us. He greeted us with a free cookie as it is a policy for them to give kids a free cookie! This made us laugh, but made us feel very well. My friend ordered a personal pizza with a green chilli crust and I had a cinnamon sugar Tostada with a large coffee. When I placed the order, our friend serving us allowed us to see the tostadas being made in the back. So kind of him! The coffee was wonderful and the kind gentleman made it just the way I liked it. The Tostada was something very unique. It was crunchy sweet and a perfect pairing with my coffee . My friend’s pizza looked super delicious. We sat outside for a bit and then came to sit on the inside. Most people around us were families enjoying pizza. They sold entire loaves of bread as well as coffee to take home. They have a unique assortment of treats, including savoury treats, like green chilli and cheese twists. All and all I highly recommend this charming little establishment. I would probably be a regular if I lived in Albuquerque.

Food: I am sure they’ve done a good job, but sweet empanadas and biscochitoes are not my thing, I prefer churros more. Service: the owner was very nice, gave us some free biscochitoes even though we just bought one apple empanada. Atmosphere: the bakery is located in a suspiciously quiet neighborhood, doesn’t feel very safe. The building itself is adobe style with painted murals, giving you a hand-crafted, old-world feeling. If you like empanadas or Mexican-style pizza, you probably should try it.

It was our first time trying this and omg! This place serves fresh pizza and some amazing coffee. We got the veggie pizza with the green chile crust. I also got a vanilla iced latte and it was perfection! Definitely coming back😍

Google
This is such a hidden gem! Their pizza is made like no Otha place in town! Next time I want to try the green chile crust. The biscochitos are delicious. They even have a vending machine selling biscochitos when they’re closed! Their fruit empanadas are perfect. Not too sweet with a soft crust that tastes like their cookies. The service here is always so friendly! Look into their history and all their multiple ovens online! They have a great Facebook page. This place is one of a kind.

This place is a gem nestled in the neighborhoods of downtown. When I first arrived I thought they may have closed early. Good thing they weren’t. The lights in the dinning area were dimmed and makes a relaxing vibe to enjoy your dinner. I ordered a 12” green chili crust pepperoni pizza and 3 biscochitos, chocolate, cappuccino, and original. The pizza 10 out of 10. The green chili crust gives that hidden spice with the pepperoni and cheese slice. Highly recommend getting the green chili crust with whichever pizza tickles your fancy. The biscochitos are a sweet treat afterwards. I would recommend those as well. After talking with the staff, they told me about the history of Golden Crown Panaderia. Then showed me the original oven which they still use today to bake their pastries. They also have on display in the lobby of the presses they use to make their empanadas. I would recommend to visitors and locals to come by and check this place out.

I found my favorite place!!! The staff was amazing, the pizza was amazing and the empanadas were amazing! I will be back that’s for sure! Thank you so much for bringing my childhood memories back of the baked goods I grew up on! I recommend this place and everything in it!

I visited this charming old restaurant in the North Valley area. They offer a wide variety of cookies(Biscochito), all made in a traditional way by the restaurant itself. These cookies have a unique taste that reflects the local flavors of Albuquerque. Additionally, they serve fresh pizzas and a selection of breads. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, giving off a homely feel overall.

Google
Local bakery with some of the best pizza in town. Free cookie is the topping on the service. Great food locally sourced grain with gluten free options. The blue corn pizza crust is a must try.

Yelp
What an amazing Albuquerque treasure! First time customer and we loved it. Fresh bisscochittos, bread loaves, empanadas, coffee. We sampled the empanadas, cookies and coffee. All fantastic and freshly made. Very friendly service and Mr Morales is a treat to meet. Enjoy real Albuquerque one morning!

Yelp
Iconic bakery in Albuquerque. Cool vibes. Inexpensive and delicious. Nice place to grab a quick coffee with a friend or a first date.

Yelp
Biscochitos are one of my favorite cookies. They melt in your mouth and have a cinnamon sugar outside. I was looking for a place to get some and found this gem. The staff were friendly and I was able to go in and get my cookies. I got 1 dozen original and 1 dozen chocolate and they were delicious. Next time I hope to try the other flavors they have. Price was reasonable, 12 cookies for $8 but my car smelled so good for the rest of the day.

Yelp
I had the salami and provolone sandwich which was yummy and came with chips and queso. I knew I had to try the biscochitos so I ordered the capuccino one which tasted like a churro cookie! Unfortunately a lot of the items were sold out and so I suggest going early. Also, the teas I ordered (white pomegranate and raspberry tea) were more watered down than I would have preferred. Overall this a great bakery and a ABQ staple!

Yelp
The biscochito selection is crazy! The breads are very fresh, perfect for my next torta. This is an old school Bakery which is very cool they even have antique biscuit machines and other stuff to check out. I hear they make a mean Pizza! The staff was very helpful and explained a lot of stuff to me.

Yelp
We were given original biscochitos and a loaf of green chili bread as a gift from the Airbnb host. Wow! Both were delicious! We had to visit the bakery to get more cookies and try the pizza. We came in after 7 pm on a Saturday. They were out of blue corn pizza dough. But we opted for the green chili dough and half cheese and half pepperoni. It was delicious! I see reviews where people said their pizza lacked cheese. That wasn't the case for us. I'd say maybe a bit more sauce would've been great though. It wasn't dry but very light sauce. Cheese was just the right amount. We ordered a dozen biscochitos-3 original, 3 blue corn, 3 cappuccino, and 3 chocolate, and one blueberry and one pumpkin empanada. We're excited to try the other booked goods and biscochito flavors.

Yelp
So glad we stopped here for lunch. The green chile crust was delicious. Crisp, but not too thin, bubbly on the edges, ample toppings, and thick pepperoni with a hint of spice. Super friendly and helpful staff. Cute interior with small seating area, plus large patio.

Yelp
After a good breakfast time to have dessert. We stopped here for sweets. You can't miss the building - it's well marked. Small gravel parking lot that had some spots available. It's difficult to navigate to the entrance if you have mobility issues. Really small store with 4-5 tables to enjoy a pastry & coffee. The bakery area is equally small, the cases are almost exclusively filled with biscochitos. Turnovers, empanadas & danishes are hidden from view. We ordered an apricot & lemon empanada from an iPad on the counter. They were delicious, well stuffed & small, but not made with excessive crust in the side. The crust was good - maybe made with biscochito dough? I could taste just a hint of pepper. They also have pizzas on the menu, we're going to have to go back for one of those (biscochito too). If the pizza is as good as the empanadas it'll be a treat.

Yelp
Neighborhood feel restaurant with all their Biscochito on display. A few tables inside and a lot more on the patio. Parking is available at the restaurant, but also street parking. Multiple options on how to order food, through the tablet, QR code or at the counter... I think that's way too many options. And I'd really rather have a person interaction. The pizza is made just right, at least the way I like it. Haven't tried the biscochitos yet, I'll update in a bit.

Yelp
Meeting up with an artist friend for lunch in ABQ and he said this was the place. The food, service and ambiance were all solid gold! So we decided on a pizza to be split among the three of us---Supreme, with blue corn meal crust, and some jasmine pearl iced teas. The pizza was so good--thin, crisp crust, loaded with fresh toppings and the best sauce, too. We enjoyed the outside covered patio, even if it was 93 degrees outside...it's a dry heat, you know! We talked to the owner, Pratt Morales, and he explained about the business with several humorous anecdotes. Such a great guy, as was his son, Chris. They truly love the baking business! Oh, don't even think about passing on some baked goods--Green Chile Bread, Biscochitos, fruit Empanadas, or even a shake or ice cream--to top off your visit to Golden Crown Panaderia. Well worth the wait, and the trip to Albuquerque. You'll enjoy the food, as well as the staff. Great place! Also, if they're busy or closed, check out the "baked goods" vending machine outside the door. Genius!!!

Yelp
Good morning from chilly central New Mexico where Tom Neiman and Jim Tritten join Air Force veteran Pratt Morales, owner of the Golden Crown Panaderia, a hometown bakery with a national reputation for excellence. Located in between Old Town and New Town, our party of veterans from the Creative Writing Group thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - and we promise you will too. Good food, good service, and a unique atmosphere. Just click on the following YouTube link to see the pizza and sandwiches we enjoyed in this remarkable eating establishment. https://youtu.be/p6O9hClxN38?si=mu23TNCvOZvNkLGr

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise!! My sister lives near here and suggested we grab a Golden Crown Combo pizza on green chili crust! We ordered online and then went to pick it up. Super cute place that's been there a long time. There is outside seating. Huge bags of coffee beans as you come in and a couple tables to sit at. Once you come towards the counter you are greeted and the folks working here are really nice, helpful and kind. The display case is filled with tons of biscochitos! Chocolate (amazing), original, cappuccino and blue corn!! As I said above, the chocolate were just fabulous but so were the traditional. I haven't tried the blue corn or cappuccino ones yet. There are also homemade wedding cookies to enjoy too. They also sell bread and some drinks. We picked up our pizza, I got a dozen biscochitos and a Mexican coke. We went home and I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. The combo comes with pepperoni, sausage, red onions and green bell peppers. Super super good! I'm happy to know about this place cuz it's only about 15 minutes from my house!! Yay! I'll be back and I've got to bring my hubby!

Yelp
It is a joy when an ordinary experience turns into an extraordinary experience. Our stumbling upon Golden Crown Panaderia was one of these experiences. On a recent Amtrak adventure from CA to Michigan, we got off in Albuquerque to explore. We stayed in an Air B&B, in a quaint neighborhood, close to Old Town. We were delighted to discover this bakery within walking distance of our home. A quick google search will pull up many accolades achieved by this talented father-son baker team. Pratt and Chris are genuine, passionate, interesting small-business owners with big hearts and dreams. While their bakery remains small and local, tucked into the neighborhood and close to their homes, it is one of the brightest spots in Albuquerque. Each item we tried was bursting with flavor, had just the right texture and conjured feelings of comfort. The pizzas have the most delicious, carefully crafted crusts and fresh ingredients. Our sandwiches were filling, with fresh, flavorful bread that makes all the difference. And the sweets..... no words. As an amateur baker, I am awestruck. When food is created and served with love, by people who love life and connecting with others, it shows. A visit to this bakery is an experience, so allow the time to linger and get to know Chris and Pratt.

Yelp
Closed today? No problem. I went to the vending machine and loaded up on bread and empanadas. All were bakery fresh because the machine was reloaded just before I pressed the buttons and watched my goodies descend into the metal bin. Why can't all vending machines be this good?

Yelp
Golden crown panaderia .Our first time here! The pizza is so yummy and the bread omg the bread! and the biscochittos, so many varieties. And of course you can't leave without a loaf of green chili bread. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, Mr Morales he has created a labor of love and we definitely will be back. Can't recommend enough.

Yelp
The biscochitos are delicious and the prices are amazing here. The staff was super kind and friendly. I highly recommend the blue corn biscochito. Lots of good seating indoor and outdoor.

Yelp
Golden Crown has a reputation in the city, and has an owner that's actively involved in its operations and its social media, so after 11 years of living in ABQ, I seized the opportunity to see what the fuss was about. The results are a mixed bag. On Saturday at 4 PM, the place looked tired. Trash cans were overflowing, the tables were various levels of crumb-filled and the menu had more things out of stock than in stock. I didn't love the ordering experience, which consisted of us trying to navigate a tablet while the employee behind the counter chimed in whenever we picked something out of stock. Completely out of diet soda, but they didn't stop me from ordering it. Ok. Despite the self-serve nature of the place, we were still prompted to tip 15% or more at the conclusion of ordering. Hmmm.... The food was the highlight. My son loved the pizza and my husband and I had some decent ham and Swiss sandwiches on green chile cheese bread. They came with crisp tortilla chips and a little container of cheese to dip them in. Nice touch. Not sure the sandwiches were worth $14-15 each, but I think that's the nature of escalating food and human costs in this city. We got waffle cones with strawberry ice cream for dessert and the ice cream had a strong organic strawberry taste. Really, they were the highlight of the meal. Because of the caliber of the food, I'm giving this a solid 4- stars. Maybe it's a better experience in the morning. Or maybe it was an off day. Or maybe my expectations were too high. That ice cream was really really good... so we may give them a second chance.

Yelp
3.5 stars My visit on Friday was an effort in patience for sure. I remember when Blake's had Golden Crown's biscochitos in a shake last holiday season that I sadly missed. So when a Facebook ad appeared for biscochito milkshakes earlier in the month, I knew that this was my chance. So, I ordered on the kiosk and as I was waiting, I heard them say they had run out of ice cream. They spent a few minutes trying to find soft serve mix and the option was either to get a refund or wait, so I waited (only about 10 minutes) for my pumpkin soft serve cone. (One of the pet peeves I have lately is being handed an ice cream cone without a napkin or paper wrapper, as if I'm supposed to eat the rest of the cone after touching the kiosks and whatever else). The pumpkin flavor was very subtle. In the meantime, the owner (father) gave a demonstration on how he slices up the dough for biscochitos. Prices were average to a little above average for a cone. There were a few tables inside, with an extensive patio and misters outside, so I opted for the patio. After I finished my cone, I wanted to order a biscochito milkshake to go, only to be told it'd be another 20-30 minutes for the ice cream to firm up further. So I waited on the patio again, but hey, it was my day off and I was procrastinating on chores so why not. When I came back in, I was told the ice cream was ready, but the option on the kiosk said "out of order" (while I looked at my phone outside, it had given me the option to order). The outside cookie ATM also only carries cookies and empanadas in bulk. I tried ordering an apple empanada (as it said it was available on the kiosk), but there were only 3 flavors left available. So, I just stuck with the milkshake. I was told that this day was busier than usual and all of their normal items were wiped out (bread, empanadas, biscos), which is good for them. Service was friendly, although a little slow. I was a little disappointed, as I love to support local, but shouldn't have been a 2 hour excursion. I would like to try the blue corn crust pizza, so I will likely return in the future. 2023 #36

Yelp
I can see why this place gets all the hype. It's a cute little place with scratch made food, which always tastes better than the commercial processed stuff. We came in around 11am on a Sunday. I don't think this is a good time to come by. There was a group in there when we came in and a couple groups came in after us but it wasn't busy at all and I think they know that because even after only being open about 1 hour, most of the menu was sold out. Luckily, we were able to have lunch and ordered a blue corn crust pepperoni pizza. There is a bit of a wait but they make your pizza fresh so it's worth it. The blue corn crust is amazing with pepperoni, such an interestingly rich flavor profile. The cheese was the perfect amount and we gobbled that thing up like we hadn't eaten in a few days. We also ordered a cherry and a lemon empanada and a dozen plain biscochitos. We didn't try the cookies and empanadas until we got home from our flight that night and they were excellent. I was so surpirsed at the taste. Never had anything like that before and I loved it. My parents got some too and they were disappointed I didn't buy more. The empanadas seem to be made from the same dough and that made them even better than the pie dough like ones from other places. Great tasting fillings that were also fairly plentiful. The service was really nice here too. There are kiosks you order from, or the QR code at your table. You can also order from a vending machine 24 hours outside the door. The person working the counter was helpful and if you didn't want the kiosk she would help.

Yelp
I was so confused...I came in looking for pan dulce and all I found was empanadas, pizza, and biscochitos. My definition of "panaderia" is a little different. So what I realize it this is a NEW MEXICAN Panaderia...not Mexican. So...very different items and atmosphere then lets say El Dorado Bakery. If you're looking for the classic authentic Mexican Pan Dulce then head to El Dorado. If you're looking for something New Mexican and different then come here. I am not a big biscochito fan, but people say the best ones are here. I can't tell you one way or the other. I do want to come back and try their pizzas.

Yelp
We came here on a surprisingly rainy day visit to Explora and wanted to eat something nearby. We were excited to try a few different pastries and got some sandwiches too. The inside is small and everything is made to order, so bring your patience. I wanted lemon empanadas and got some from the vending machine, but they were not lemon and were incorrectly labeled and placed into that section. I was disappointed, but they were still delicious.
google avatar

Frances L.

Yelp
Great little panderia. The cashier was friendly and even offered me a free cinnamon cookie. They have interesting flavors such as mocha wedding cookies and blue corn cinnamon cookies. The empanadas were large but the filling seemed a little artificial. They also serve pizza (which I didn't try )
google avatar

Anika R.

Yelp
I came here on early Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. My friends and I ordered coffee and empanadas. The coffee came out pretty quickly but the empanadas took wayyy too long. At first, I figured they might be taking long because the empanadas are baked fresh. But then we noticed that they're already made and all they had to do was pull it off a tray. I'm not sure why it took 15 min for them to give us our empanadas... I ordered the Apple and raspberry empanadas and it tasted pretty similar to a McDonald's Apple pie. The empanadas were also served room temperature and I requested them to be warmed up later. My friend ordered a pizza and said it was really tasty. Maybe the other food here is better but I didn't get a chance to try any that day.

Yelp
Stopped in last night just before closing with 4 friends. We all bought Biscochitos and Empanadas. The cookies (all flavors) have a horrible aftertaste. Not sure if it was old lard or too much lard, or something else. Either way, they are not edible. The Empanada crust is not good either. We all agree - we will not be back.
google avatar

Carmen r.

Yelp
Loved the pizza. Anyone you order. They just have the option to order online and in kiosk when you get there and it makes things go by quick. I haven't had the ice cream but many come in just for that.

Yelp
First time check out this place after hearing raving reviews of it. Well I just had to give 'em a try. The ordering process was easy online. The curbside pickup was pretty easy and quick. Where they missed the mark, the pie. Those who know me know that nothing peeves me more than stinginess on the cheese. Especially when I ask for extra cheese which I did! The pie I got had a paper thin layer of cheese that poorly held the toppings. It even had bald spots. The cheese bread I got was the only saving grace at this point. The sad part is that I saw more these on the cheese bread than I did on the pie. I'm sorry to say I think next time I wanna get a pie I'll probably pass on this one. I've never been more disappointed especially what they are charging for those pies. This one wasn't worth it.
google avatar

Erick D.

Yelp
So this place is an Albuquerque institution as it's been around since 1972. The cookies I've gotten from here are great. I've eaten here once and the pizza was good. I rolled up and the parking lot was full as it was the 22rd. I'm guessing a lot of folks are getting treats for Christmas? I was suprised to see a cookie vending machine outside of Golden Crown. I wasn't sure if people were welcome to come in, but I guess they were as some folks came out. So I just bought cookies from the vending machine. Not exactly what I'd prefer, but it wasn't bad as I was able to buy excellent cookies.

Yelp
So this is a hidden gem, I seem to be finding these all over the place. Pasties made daily, if you crave authentic bisconchitos this is the place to stop. There is a wide range coming had the blue corn, original, and cappuccino. The have a blueberry and strawberry stuffed pastry. Wow a great taste. The place is small, very small, I think I want to say 4 tables inside but there is seating outside also. They make you a single pizza if you want. Not a lot of parking but you can park on the street
google avatar

Sarah J.

Yelp
Amazing!!!! I recently moved to the neighborhood and they were so warm and welcoming. Their food is delicious but their biscochitos are finger licking good!! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Kristi T.

Yelp
First of all, they were so friendly here. I really liked how welcoming the staff was. Secondly, I like how they do ordering. They have little iPads where you can see the whole menu, see what's sold out, place your order, and pay. It's nice if you get a little nervous listing all items for someone or take a bit of time to decide what you want because you're not really talking to anyone. But you can ask questions for sure! So I think it's a nice balance of high tech and home-y and friendly. It's not the most fancy place but it's nice in that way. I would have sat in there if I weren't on my way to somewhere else! Next time.. And of of course, the biscochitos. Such a different texture than what I'm used to! Light, crisp, crumbly. The flavor is also light but you can spot it. They would be so good with coffee in the morning too! Worth a try for sure if you can go!

Yelp
Everything we tried was so good we bought a variety to bring home to California. Super friendly workers and had a great conversation with the owner. Nice little place to sit and enjoy your drink and goodies

Yelp
Every time I go in here I feel good it makes me happy to get a black coffee and empanada. The kindest people are here. This is where you come for your Biscochittos for Christmas. Also, amazing pizza but if you're a true Burqueño just come here to be here. It's a wonderful place.

Yelp
We stopped by to get some green chili bread. We also got 2 sandwiches. We paid extra for green chili to be added to our sandwiches but when we ate our sandwiches, there were no green chili anywhere! We were disappointed. We got our sandwiches on green chili bread and that tasted good. The meal came with nachos and a slice of pickle. There were outdoor seating. I think indoor seating is closed now due to covid. The bread looks tasty but kind of pricey @ $10 per loaf. They do se other kinds of bread, bakery goods, and pizza. We just tasted the bread and it was ok although it just taste like regular bread with a tiny hint of spice. Don't think it's worth $10.

Yelp
I had heard of this place for years but had never tried it (nor did I have any clue where it was). My awesome hubby surprised me with a lunch date here to check it out. The service was fantastic and everything we had was delicious. It was so hard to choose what to get! I was craving some pizza and it was really good and I loved the not only the green chile bread but also the fresh green chile had a good kick to it. The salad was massive and loaded with all sorts of veggies. While the pizza was good, my husband's sammy was the star of the show- super fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. I definitely want to try some of their other sandwiches sometime. I thought it was a unique New Mexican twist to also serve the sandwich with tortilla chips and a side of queso. Service was friendly and really helpful as well! We also were able to try the Mexican hot chocolate (yum!) and a biscochito and Mexican wedding cookie. The wedding cookie was delicious and exactly what you hoped it would be. I was pretty disappointed with the biscochito though. It only had the faintest hint of cinnamon and sugar but mostly tasted like bland dough that had been slightly burned. Based on the rave reviews, this seems to be an outlier situation so maybe it was just a bad batch. I've had my fair share of homemade biscochitos being a native New Mexican and this one was probably one of the worst I've had. Indoor seating was extremely limited so either plan for takeout or dress for the weather if sitting outside where there is ample space. They are working on getting their beer license and it looks like they're setting up to have quite a few taps available. Overall, I really liked this place and would go back.

Panette P.

Yelp
Biscochito- got assorted dozen They were bland, grainy, dry, crumbly, and left a film on the roof of my mouth from the lard/shortening. Empanadas- the dough was flavorless, dry and was like eating cardboard. The fillings raspberry and lemon tasted artificial. Wedding cookies- both original and chocolate were bland. They were not buttery or nutty.
google avatar

Yadira H.

Yelp
The pizza was great, I love their self service screens you can browse through if there's a line. You would usually get a free biscochito at least on my other visits, wasn't the deal this last time but still we ordered some chocolate flavors to try and they were all great. It's a small place, but still very home feel like if you choose to sit inside you'll be smelling all the sweet and salty odors. Great place overall!

The bread is out of this world. 5 stars for sure. The pizza, eh. Not bad, not great. That said, this is the only place you can get pizza at 7am. If you work nights like me, that's a hot commodity when you have a craving.

Yelp
We stopped in and ordered a combination pizza with green chili crust after seeing this joint on several lists of "top restaurants to try while in ABQ." Although it was good and filling, I think it was just a little too overhyped for me. If you've ever had the pleasure of ordering a combo pizza from Costco before it was taken off the menu, the Golden Crown's combo pizza tastes exactly like a fluffy version of Costco's haha Good slice of pizza, but I would describe it as just average. **Side note- if you're looking for great conversation, workers behind the counter were very inviting and friendly! Service was great.

Yelp
This is definitely one of those establishments where I just do not get the hype. Yes, they do have good bread, but so does Panera. What is all the fuss about? We came here one sweltering June evening, on our first trip to ABQ. We each got sandwiches, mine was the salami and provolone. And don't get me wrong, it was a very good sandwich with great bread and above-average meat. But the chips that it came with were kind of meh--they almost made me feel less about the sandwich--and I felt the menu was extremely limited. The line situation is a bit of a mess and it got crowded very quickly, which is a tad nerve-racking in the time of COVID. We tried a sample of the biscochito cookies, as they are famous for them and I thought they were not very good with a less than great aftertaste. I suspect there are far better places to get a sandwich in Albuquerque, though if you find yourself in the area, you could also do worse.

Yelp
I remember coming here a few times many, many years ago. Then I came here about 5 years ago and most recently today. Always the same experience. I have never been a fan of their pizza, the bread in my opinion is dry and service isn't that great. I do however enjoy their empanadas and biscochitos. Yesterday I got an ad on Facebook saying they now have ice cream and that it's homemade in house. I decided to take a trip with my 3 kids and try it out. The place is exactly how I remember it. Not very clean and cramped. Not much space to move around especially when it gets busy, which it does. I mean, people obviously like it. So, we wait in line about 20 minutes and finally place our order of 3 ice cream cones and 1 smoothie. Apparently their ice cream machine takes breaks haha and we literally waited another 20 minutes for SOFT SERVE ice cream. I was so disappointed. It was not that great. Baskin Robins is way better! Then they ask if you want a sugar cone or waffle cone. I didn't want the big waffle cone so I asked for a sugar cone. It was not a sugar cone, it was a cake cone. Yes, there is a difference. If I do go back it will be for their empanadas and biscochitos which are reasonably priced.

Yelp
You will not be disappointed! Open your wallet and sample EVERYTHING! It's a hidden gem in Albuquerque so if you're traveling through and want to try something local, try it here. Note, this is not a fast food bakery and everything is fresh, so plan your time accordingly. You're welcome.

Yelp
Stopped in for coffee and a treat. Super friendly people and amazing food. It's worth a stop just for the smell. Picked up a handful of empanadas and cookies. everything we tasted was amazing, so it's hard to make a recommendation beyond "if you think it sounds good, do it"

Yelp
Sadly, it's not what it was. Ordering is now a boondoggle (slide your fingers in an ill-programmed (WHERE is the ice cream?) greasy iPad to order, it wants a tip even though no one has helped you, your order gets delivered in a chaotic fashion with one fellow calling your name and disappearing, then another one eventually getting you part of your order and a third getting you another part - all hollering out your name and none of them having any idea if your order is complete). The bizcochitos are now super-crumbly, fall-apart-before-you-can-get-it-in-your-mouth crumbly (these are NOT rocket science - we can't even get one of these out of the box without it crumbling to pieces, no matter how gingerly we try) and their new ice cream is tasty (custardy, in interesting flavors) but unreasonably priced ($4.82 for a small cheap-o waffle cone?!). Golden Crown Panederia was a nice, artisanal neighborhood place: now they seem to have fallen victim to their own hype. Sigh. Oh - and no more of the "All kids get a free bizcochito" treatment: you come here, you pay.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza to go - a large, regular crust, 2 toppings via their app (since you can't call an order in). My friend and I were not happy with the overall taste, it was just ok and pretty much forgettable. I will give it a try again but driving from the Eastside here may not be worth my time in the future In terms of ordering and customer service... They don't answer their phone. You have to use the Goldencrown.biz app to order. On my phone, it's not easy to see the pizza menu. Then, once you order and get to the location to pick up your order you are supposed to call the number on the posted sign. But a recording then says they don't answer the phone you have to text with the order number. It's just not easy and maybe not worth it. I would stop in if I'm in the neighborhood again and order in person and wait. I would try the blue crust again as I have in the past.

Yelp
This local shop is a great place to get some awesome sweet breads. There is a lot of choices and the staff is very friendly. The price point is great as well

Yelp
The bakery needs a good cleaning--please clean it. It had an unpleasant smell and the loaf of bread I bought tasted like that too (bakeries are supposed to smell good!) The Mexican Wedding Cookies were stale and weirdly soft, not crispy and melt in your mouth in texture. Pizzas look nothing like their pictures-- toppings were stingy, the pizza was nothing special. People were nice enough but the stuff I got was close to inedible.

Yelp
Stopped in for bread and was not disappointed! Hot from the oven chili bread was excellent as well as the multigrain loaf. Such a great little place run by folks who truly love what they do!
