Love these guys. Food and service are great and they are very affordable compared to other downtown eateries. I work at a theatre across the street and refer crew members to eat here regularly.

This restaurant is located in one of the most expensive areas in Manhattan, for the quality and cost it can't get any better!! Delivery is superhero fast! I've been ordering here for over 15 years and "Zero" food poisoning!! Can't say the same for others with higher prices. In my books it's the best in the neighborhood.

I haven't seen such a good pricing in NYC so far, especially given the portion. The wings were good, not delicious and the fried rice was tasty. The service was also really fast.

I love this place! I live in the neighborhood and order from here all the time. Get the fried pork dumplings. I also like the spicy eggplant, and the spicy beef with mixed vegetables!!

Great inexpensive place to get takeout. Very quick. Some things are better than others. So far really love the Singapore Mai Fun and the spare ribs.

Steamed wontons were great. The General Tso's Chicken however was nearly inedible. Very much overcooked and small pieces of chicken covered in breading. Felt like eating rocks, had to stop eating and toss it for the protection of my teeth.

I love Golden Woks! The food is always delicious and prepared quickly. The staff is also always friendly. They are a true West Village staple.

a west coast gal looking for ny style takeout and i found it here!! all of the food came in piping hot and so good. the fried chicken is hot, crispy, and very flavorful. fries were made perfectly, you really can't go wrong with this. they were crispy and they give a lot!! i had to try it with all of the sauces (ketchup bbq and hot sauce) combined. i would love to come back to try other menu items. wait was about 10 minutes so it was relatively quick

I have been ordering delivery for about 7 years, since 2016, from Golden Woks. The food has generally been good and fairly priced. I don't know it they changed owners but, tonight I ordered orange beef and sliced fish with ginger and scallions. The sliced fish was big chewy globs of some sort of batter with a sliver of fish inside. I ate 3 pieces and discarded the rest. I am trying to cut carbs and this dish was 80% carbs. The orange beef was so sweet that one would expect that it was brazed in dark Karo corn syrup. This was one of my go-to places for years but something has changed. The menu said nothing about battered fish or candied beef. Please take a look at your dishes and try to make them the way you did 7 years ago. I really do not want to give up on my Golden Woks dinners.

This is good old basic NYC Chinese food. Nothing flashy but delivery was fast, and the food was as expected. Hot and yummy. Priced fairly for what prices are these days. I will definitely use them again!

Fair warning: before I regale you with my world travels in search of Chinese food, some of you may find my anecdotes pretentious or long-winded, but the tale of the global quest for spare ribs can't be easily condensed to 280 characters. Still here? Yes it is true, I have ventured to lands near and far, from the mall food court to the vast exurbs of the New York/New Jersey region. I have consumed exotic fare in the tiny mountain of village of Tuxedo NY, a scenic land, but so remote that there may be a 3 hour gap for the next train to Hoboken. I have traversed the thoroughfare sometimes known as The Silk Road of Flushing, Fresh Meadows and Jamaica Estates, Union Turnpike, in times so ancient that the Q-46 bus was called the Q-44A. The vast miles are accompanied by a wide range of emotions, tragedy to triumph, experiencing dinner at King Yum but never its karaoke, continuing to enjoy Dave's even though the shrimp with black bean sauce recipe from 1980 is no longer. The cuisine has delighted me when other places were closed due to holidays and has been the centerpiece of important moments ranging from a family dinner celebrating my acceptance to Elmira College to watching the Oscars in 2003 when Michael Moore got booed. TL;DR - American-friendly Chinese cuisine isn't the only game in town, but even though you'll find more authentic offerings in Flushing, this is an important genre that can vary quite a bit. Christopher's Golden Woks has been a success so far, with curry shrimp providing respectable heat levels and fresh vegetables. The fried chicken has far more flavor than grease and enticing crispiness. Roast pork with vegetables was good on my last visit, perhaps next time I'll venture into some less safe bets. The Uber Eats pickup speed has been great, making this place a recurring favorite for Hudson River picnics.

Prompt delivery, big portions, bad 1980s style Chinese takeout food. Even the dumplings were tasteless.

I live in the east village where the beef lo mein is $12. I came across to the west village thinking it would be more and it's actually a lot less, $8. I had to leave a good review just for that alone. They also provide chopsticks and fortune cookies which not every place does. Definitely making this a go to take out spot.

Best takeout Chinese in Manhattan. The lo mein is the best I've had! Highly recommend the mein fun, too, and the hot and spicy beef that isn't on the menu but there's a sign for it and it's really well seasoned--not just covered in hot sauce.

Excellent Food! Huge Portions and this is the ONLY place in NYC that I personally have ever ordered from that makes their own homemade egg rolls. Every other restaurant I have ordered from uses those awful frozen tasteless ones. If you are eggroll lover, you will love these! I am so picky about my egg rolls so I am very impressed with these! The sesame chicken was excellent as well and very FAST delivery. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Walked in, ordered at the counter. waited on one of the 3 metal chairs lined up along the window and in less than ten minutes I had a generous portion of fresh hot broccoli in garlic sauce. Broccoli cooked perfectly, covered but not drenched in flavorful garlic sauce. I requested very spicy and it was not, but other than that, delicious.

Lousy food, lousy service. Their sauces, literally swim in oil, the beef they use for the beef and broccoli is such a cheap cut that it is mostly grease, so much so, that I had to throw it away, and eat just the broccoli. I was putting up with them only because they sell fry slices of plantain, which they call tostones, (they are really not), and fry chicken with french fries, until one of their idiots accused my doormen of eating the delivered food, LOL. Hey, you are so miserable that don't want to pay your delivering people, your problem, but don't be so stupid as to accuse others of eating your lousy greasy food when they don't do the job properly. Learn how to conduct business, or get the hell out of it.

The food was absolutely disgusting! Hard oily rice and small wings that looked like they were refried 5 times! The food did not look good nor taste good and it was not cheap. I will never order from here again, just gross.

A great standby restaurant of traditional Chinese cuisine. A family go to place for many years.

This place used to be really good in a very beginning when I first ordered from them but since then every time I order something they mess up the order like a missing egg roll that they definitely refunded me back on I'm not complaining about that but then another time I ordered an egg roll and it was some little two little sticks also I ordered chicken with vegetables I didn't get no vegetables and the chicken doesn't even look like chicken the only good thing about this place is that they give you lots of fortune cookies and lots of sauce which I never use

Love this place! I live close (3 blocks away) and have tried all the Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood plus the delivery restaurants. The pricey ones don't even compare to this spot. They also always accommodate any changes, allergies, etc. Food is fresh (not buffet) and prices are insanely good. Picture of food below (with my million modifications) was perfect fast and less than $28. Nice people too!

Food came quickly and was good and warm, everything was as we had ordered, we recommend the lemon chicken!

I ordered chicken wings because I didn't think it was possible to mess those up & that's what I typically order from here. Per usual, I requested my wings crispy. They were crispy on the outside but half raw & pink on the inside!! This after they had the audacity to raise their prices!

Ordered about $35.00 worth of food from Golden Wok tonight. Food arrived luke-warm, and delivery guy said to me 'no tip?' I told him that Golden Wok charged me $3.47 Service fee besides tax and cost of food. I thought the Service fee was for the delivery guy? I've heard of this joint from others and should've heeded their warnings. Sorry, but if the joint is swindling delivery people from their rightful due than I am not responsible for that. I will not order again from this joint.

No frills Americanized Chinese place that has been here forever. Everything is greasy and delicious. Low prices and fast delivery! Places like this are getting rarer - glad this one has stuck around.

I was new to New York and we were walking the Highline. Everyone kept asking me where we were stopping to eat and luckily Yelp saved the day by offering this place. We crowded around a small table and ate greasy delicious Chinese food that reminded me so much of the tiny place in my hometown. Somehow I managed to forget about it until looking through delivery places in my new neighborhood and stumbling upon it again. The food is not five stars-probably four at best. But the service is kind and the price is cheap. The delivery guy is the nicest person to ever drop off food to my apartment. He never gets frustrated even though I always forget to write my apartment number on the order. And the food is fast. Today I got it in less than thirty minutes. And I'm at least 10 minutes from the shop on bike. I can't say enough good things about this place. Good. Fast. Cheap. Fun. You can't do any bett

No frills Chinese takeout with fair prices and decent portions. They have plenty of fish fillet and scallop options which is nice. They are also very fast with orders which is also helpful. Overall not bad - food is okay and prices are cheap. Pretty much your standard takeout.

Lo mein is great (Ho Chow Fun wide noodles). General Tso's chicken not as crispy as hoped but still good.

Some of the best take out Chinese food I've had in the city. Some friends and I ordered in and the food came quickly by a friendly delivery guy. The beef Ho was really tasty and cooked perfectly. The chicken and broccoli was delicious too. We ordered dumplings that were good, but not amazing. We also had an order of chicken wings that were really good. I don't live in the west village, so I won't really be able to order from them again, but if I did, or you do, this is a very good option for takeout or delivery!

Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant. I use to love eating here back in the day for a greasy cheat meal but the quality severely declined. The food is mushy, stale and tasteless.

The food here is very good with high quality, fresh ingredients. it's not the closest takeout place to me, but it's the best, so def worth going the extra distance to pick up.

Huge portions! The food is fresh and I see them load boxes from foodservice companies from where they get their stuff. The vegetables look fresh and taste fresh. The food could use more flavor, however, if you ask they will add more spice and or sweetness per your request. Steve the manager/owner is very nice. There is a reason this place has been here so long. Nice people and good food. The place may look like a dive but the food and service are great!!!

I used to love this restaurant. Great tasty, affordable Chinese food. But ordered recently and sadly they are using what tastes like fake Chicken. We ordered three chicken dishes and with each one the chicken had a rubber and, squeaky consistency that tasted obviously processed, like it was made in a test tube. It was horrible. The crazy thing is the rice and vegetables are still fresh and delicious but when you bite into the chicken is tastes like your eating boiled plastic. I hope they fix this unfortunate issue ASAP and go back to using real meat instead of something that's obviously been made in a test tube. Very disappointing.

We haven't ordered from Golden Wok in quite awhile. We ordered sesame chicken, beef with snow peas, shredded pork in hot spicy sauce, pork lo mein, pork fried rice, and some appetizers. I have yo say that the quality has increased ten-fold. It was delivered incredibly promptly. The food was really hot and incredibly delicious!!! If you haven't been to Christopher Golden Wok since ore covid, check it out, reasonable prices.

Banging Chinese food. Fresh and on point. Got delivery and the guy was so fast I think it arrived before I hung up the phone. My sweet and sour chicken was delicious and the Broccoli and garlic was tender and screaming with fresh elephant garlic sauce. Total satisfaction. And the kicker... the white rice. Yeah yeah we all usually just chuck it or tuck it in the fridge only to throw away the hardened kernels two days later but don't. Try it out, the most moist and flavorful white rice I've ever had. Literally it's like the crack version of the rice kingdom. So do yourself a favor and dive in that sucker. This place is a repeat order for sure

I'm really confused by all the glowing reviews on Yelp and Seamless. I ordered the general tso chicken combo platter with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Although the portion is generous, the chicken and rice were beyond flavorless. My coworker was teasing me as I drowned it with duck sauce to make it tolerable so my $10.50 wasn't completely wasted. I didn't even bother trying the egg roll...never again

If your looking fir affordable place to take out. This place is the best been coming here for over 25 years, not yet to be disappointed, the food on point my favorite is house Mei fun and ribs other are good too fried chicken really crispy. And lunch special is out of this world, you get a lot for the price, you can even share it if your not that hungry. The owner Steve is really friendly. They do deliver anywhere in the area. So if you want good Chinese American food , this is a must. You be the judge

If you are looking for quick , cheap and tasty Chinese food this is the place to go . The prices are affordable and each meal is freshly made. Every time I have visited this restaurant I received a warm welcome from the people taking my order . Not only were they extremely accommodating but they also were very patient with me while I decided on my order. I ordered the general tsos chicken with pork fried rice . The fried rice was okay but the chicken is splendid . Each time I am in the area I make sure to stop by and get a quick bite to eat . P.S. if you get a chance to try the crab sticks you should . They are absolutely amazing !

These types of places are for very simple dishes. I wouldn't get anything other than soup, egg rolls or fried rice. I only stopped by for an egg roll and a bottle of water. They didn't mess it up and let me sit down at one of the 3 tables they had (no one else was there) to rest from a long walk.

the first time I left a good review bc, when they messed up my Order they took care if me. the test still no bad for the price, the problem is : any time im coming to pick up the food, they trying to jack on the price. most of the time is by $0.50 few times even $1.5. what they don't know that Im not willing to pay even penny more, get your shit togetter

Satisfying and affordable, always opening even in late night hours of holidays. I live in my college dorm several blocks away from it and often order their combos or lo meins during my final weeks ;)

This place has THE best takeout sweet and sour chicken in the city. And place your order online for pickup and it'll be ready at lighting speed. Of course they do delivery too - but many do their entrees are so cheap that even meeting the delivery minimum is hard. Especially appreciate that they do small and large entree portions depending on how many leftovers you want to wind up with. They've got a couple tables inside if for some reason you want to eat on the spot - but I'd say takeout is the way to go!

I have been coming here for years. Amazing takeout Chinese place, and by far the best in the West Village. Owners are really nice. I especially love their wonton soup and beef lo main. Great lunch special too.

This is really good, affordable take out Chinese food. It's Americanized for sure, but it's exactly what you would want for a quick bite. Not too saucey, has recognizable vegetables, and they don't skimp on the meat. I got Hunan Beef which came with free rice and lots of sauces. If you want spice, I would opt for extra spicy as the regular spicy didn't offer much. All in all, a good visit.

Made a big order for my company's business luncheon, serving 20 people. As I was looking for non-fancy Chinese, what they offered were just right. Despite more than 10 different dishes, they came mostly correct (except one noodle dish) and were delivered right at the requested time. Definitely ordering from here again!

My go to Chinese delivery spot. Fast, hot, cheap, not loaded with MSG that leaves you shaking with your heart racing. Love their crab Rangoon. Great lunch specials. Note: they do not send with chopsticks!!!! Not sure why but it's a bummer. Definitely the best Chinese delivery in the west village is you don't want to go expensive (uncle Ted's) of traditional.
