"Grilled tripe and large intestines reign supreme at Gom Ba Wie, which has seen three decades of customers hooked on their buttery, pleasantly chewy goodness. The original location and the new location stand back to back, offering a glimpse of the restaurant’s past and present. If beef intestines aren't your cup of tea, the restaurant also offers other cuts like ribeye, short ribs and brisket. All meats are grilled over wood charcoal." - Michelin Inspector

The Best Barbecue in Seoul: 14 Must-Try Restaurants - Eater

"Gombawi has maintained a strong reputation as one of the most popular yangdaechang (beef tripe and large intestine) restaurants in Korea since 1983, nailing the unique flavor and chewy texture you can only get from fresh yangdaechang and gopchang (intestines) prepared right. Gombawi also serves various cuts of excellent hanwoo, such as sirloin, ribs, and brisket, accompanied by banchan. Hongtang, a spicy red soup full of beef ribs and gopchang, is a hearty addition to the table, especially good on a chilly night or after a few rounds of drinking." - Matty Kim

The food was delicious, but pricey. Be warned that you have to order two portions of meat so if you're a solo diner or want to share one portion of meat with a friend, you will not be able to. The big disappointment was the service. The auntie asked us within 5 minutes of sitting what we wanted to order, but we hadn't even gone through the entire menu yet. She looked irritated that we hadn't made a decision, and continued to look irritated and impatient the entire dinner. She was much nicer to the table of Korean people at the table next to us, though. Overall, you can get the same quality elsewhere with better service.

Hey dude! I’d like to introduce a killer Korean restaurant, which is a 10-minute walk away from COEX. Although they are somewhat expensive, it’s worth the money. I enjoyed a special boiled beef tripe soup (spicy). The soup was good, rich and flavorful. It was served warm. Okay. If you have a hangover, I recommend you to have it for relieving a hangover. This restaurant is decorated well and further it has a small garden. The staff who are wearing uniform gave me good service. Many people were enjoying the food. I think it is a good place for everybody. Come and get it. Enjoy.

clean, quality food. Parking available and convenient. Very expensive but it is worth it.

I had dinner at Gom Ba Wie in Seoul, and it was a great experience. The food was nice and well-prepared, making it a good spot for a satisfying meal. The small intestine was the standout dish perfectly grilled, flavorful, and had the best texture. The place itself has a cozy and authentic atmosphere, making it ideal for a relaxed dinner. If you enjoy Korean BBQ, especially beef intestines, one of the best ever! this is definitely worth a visit!

Refined Korean BBQ with elegant warm service. All the hanwoo was perfectly grilled by the table. No excessive smoke nor after smell. Lovee the beef tripe and marinated kalbi. I recommend to skip the beef intestine (difficult for us to chew) & bulgogi (was a bit bland).

The food is delicious and service is good, so why only 3 out of 5 stars? Because the portions are tiny and the food is overpriced. The serving size is more suitable for ants than humans. By the time you're full, you'll have spent way over 120k won. It's worth going to at least once because the food is indeed tasty, but you don't get much bang for your buck. There are way better options in this price range than this place.

A restaurant famous for beef tripe barbecue. Even though I don’t eat beef tripe, I had a piece and was surprised by the clean taste. There’s not much flavor by the nature of the cut, but the bouncy texture is addicting and goes well with the sauce. Sirloin steak was good but not the specialty. Great side dishes—white kimchi is specially made by the owner’s wife. Many commented about how much the prices went up compared to few years ago, maybe it’s the Michelin effect. Still, enjoyable meal with great service.
